Captivate

I recently learned about the ability to distribute a video across slides and am trying that feature, but I'm having a serious issue. In the past, I imported a video and added it to a slide as "Event Video". No problem. If I add the same video to a slide as "Slide Video", I get the error "Video encountered internal error".I click OK and keep working. If I change to Slide Video and "Distribute video across slides", I get the same error and Captivate locks up. I made sure the video uses the H.264 codec. I sent the same CPT and video files to two of my colleagues, and everything worked for them. We are all using Windows 10 laptops but with different hardware. (I believe mine is the only one with a discrete GPU.) I ran the program for driver and BIOS updates; all good there. If anyone has suggestions on how to resolve this, I would love to hear them.

Captivate 5II have been working on this project (@175 slides).  Suddenly, as I'm saving my changes, the program freezes & has to shut down & now it appears the file is corrupt.  Am I basically screwed here?  Is there any hope for this file?  I read that Captivate 5 supposedly handles projects with 400+ slides, so mine shouldn't be an issue. There are no other programs open, the file isn't already open.  I'm guessing I'm screwed & get to spend 2 days redoing the work I just did.  Thankfully I have a backup, but a backup that doesn't include about 16 hours worth of changes.  This has always been a shaky product & I'd hoped that Captivate 5 had improved upon that, but I guess not.Any help is appreciated

In the course i'm building we have a requirement to used forced navigation at the end of each slide to ensure the users have listened/watched it in it's entirety. But, on reentry to the slide, either by using the back button or closing the course and reentering it. All of this functionality works fine.  We're now working on adding another condition, that, if the user attempts and fails the course 3 times, they must retake the course as if it's their first time taking it (watching each slide in its entirety).  I am a shared action on entry and on exit using v_slidevisited_## to update the next button logic on each slide. I have tried "Assigned v_slidevisited_## to 0" in an advanced action before "Jump to Slide" on the Restart Course button  on the resutls slide as well as an on entry decision to the 3 attemps failure logic. Neither are working. What am i doing wrong? Example of the results slide advanced action below.

I have created my first project in Captivate and it is time to preview and present to the team.  I was able to preview and publish until last week.  Now when I select Preview, in any form, one of two things happens.  One, I get a Publish failed error and the only option is OK.  Two, I am taken to Adobe Air and all I can see is a black screen, nothing ever loads.  When I try to publish as HTML5 I get a Could Not Copy Folder to (path) . . . assets.  I have tried different folders and different file names.  Caps, spaces, no spaces, no special characters, and nothing seems to be working.  I have contacted my IT department and hit a dead end.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice.  I have tried the CleanPreferenecesMac fix posted and no change.  I have tried the I have contacted Adobe IT Support and have not received a response, other than to say they have received my email and to verify my username.  It seems this is a known c

A few days ago, I posted this issue but got no answer.The issue is related to the iPhone and iPad only.Captivate 2019 11.5.5.553Problem:I have slide videos and interactive videos in my project. These are working on windows, android devices and even on mac devices. But on iPhone and iPad when the project reached the slide with slide video or interactive video, video starts loading and takes 5-10 seconds to load. (On other systems, the video starts instantly) After the video is loaded, I see a full-screen size black screen with a Play button in the middle. The video will not start if I tap the Play button but will start playing if I tap anywhere on the screen away from the play button. This is too annoying because users keep tapping the Play button with no result. I found that this happens if Mobile Gestures (Widows>Mobile Pallete) are turned off in the project. If I turn on the mobile gesture the play button is working as it should be. But turning the Mobile Gestures O

How can I stop slide video forwarding while maintaining the replay option? Exists a solution for this?

Our school uses Canvas LMS, but I don't see much recently about using captivate (especially 2017) with Canvas.  Is there a user group or additional information somewhere I'm missing?  

I am trying to solve for what I will say is a fussy TEB's in my project. Like many of posted this has become more of an issue with HTML5. In my current role I am creating content to train the use of our financial systems. So my focus is software simulations.My current situation is that on some of the screens the TEB works as designed and some they do not. I am trying to publish my Captivate projects directly yto Adobe Connect; however after enteting my credentials I just have a blank screen with no option to publish to a new or extisitng folder.  I am using Captivate 2019 11.5.5.553. The .cptx file is saved to my desktop and not on the cloud.

My team and I just spent a good chunck of time working on an interaction only to find that it would not work in the newest(er) versions of Safari. We had some advanced actions that changed the state of different objects. We tried building the states with imported images, and with captivate native drawing tools. None of the state changes called from the advanced actions would appear when viewing the interacton in Safari. Has any one seen similar? Even better, found a work around?We are using Captivate 11.5.4.613 (on a Mac)Safari 15.6.1 The change state interaction worked fine on Safari 14.1.2 Our work aroud was to use a whole lot of individual objects and a lot of show and hides. Thanks!  

My character screen comes up double.  I am not sure how to get rid of the duplicate so I can actually use the big screen.  The little box moves but it does not allow me to select a character.  This is very important!!

I was experiencing audio stuttering with the background narration when the embedded video was playing.I'm using Adobe Captivate 11.8.0.710 and I applied the default setting while I exported to video. Is there anything I missed out on when I was exporting the file? 

Greetings!I feel like I am asking for something special since Captivate seems to have so many issues performing its basic features, but here goes: I made a change to the very end of my project, which contains slides, narration, and music. I would like to only be able to watch the end section, however when I click on Preview Project (or the other options) I cannot skip to the end part without the audio repeating from the very beginning or stopping all together. Is it possible to skip through a project preview or am I forced to watch the entire project? On a side note, I have also tried watching just the slide in question, but the audio will not play. Any help would be appreciated.BK

Hello,I have recently made the switch to XAPI, i have setup my LRS ect. and i've used the comformance suite to test this and all is good. My quiz does not use the standard setup in captivate, i use advanced actions to set the buttons to green when correct and upload variables to determine quiz outcomes, when someone presses a button in my quiz theres about 4-5 advanced actions that are run. Now my issue is when someone clicks this quiz in my LMS it's sending about 60 requests per click on each button to my LRS which results in a delay of about 4-5 seconds between each slide, i've tried to untick "send data on every slide" this does nothing.  Wondering if anyone has come across this issue before? I assume this is happening because each time it updates one of these advanced action variables it's setting a new state? which makes tincan send about 5-6 statements to the LRS to update the record but because i'm setting about 6 actions its piling up the requests.

Hi All,would like to create a training where i would enter multiple text-to-speech comments, for multiple language variants... for the text boxes I have found the guide here. but I cant work out how to deal with the speech...

As I had done before, I wanted to use the export function to export all CC of a CPTX file to a Word doc to translate them into another language.These files had been updated from CP9 to 2019 (by simply opening them in the latest version and saving them).But image my surprise as I saw that the CC were broken in the Word doc. Most of them blacked out in the left column with no text in the right. In the past, every line was like the 3rd one here with the same text in both columns.Any idea how to fix this? 

Hi,  So i'm trying to set my project preference to work with my e-learning materials, i have 4 units with the last one being a test, however, even if i tried to change their preference, my lms still considered all 4 units as a test unit.  The icon of the media unit shoud look like a checkmark, and the icon of the test unit shoud display the T sign, but my project were all show the T icon, so it interfere with my scoring system. In which all learner has passed and scored a hundred percent but still in the 'learning' process. Not 'passed' This is my first time using Captivated! In preview:  After Publishing:   For additional context, I’ve tried removing the bullet point formatting, and still run into the same issue.  I have three other similar text boxes on the same slide, but this is this only one that has this issue. Any help or troubleshooting would be appreciated!

We have a quiz set up to pass/fail at 80%. We are using random questions from a question pool. We want a message to display that says more or less, "You have passed the course, click Continue" and then the next slide the certificate they get for passing the course. If they fail, it should say, "you did not pass, click Retake" and it should take them back to the start of the quiz. For some reason, the pass/fail options show up at the same time. I used the results slide to create this slide and I think that may be where the problem lay. I probably should have hidden the results slide and created a separate pass/fail message slide showing the score, but even when I try that it doesn't work. How do I fix this problem? When I try to upload the file here it says the extension does not match the file type even though it is cptx.
