I have created head turns on my character. I need the character to do a quarter turn as well. Should I build seperate puppets with a quarter turn or in same puppet. How do you do body turns in a puppet? Is that possible? I want a perspectives to have my same head turns. Can anyone help?
I have used the copy paste layer style but when I do, it changes the format of the hands loosing the outline of the fingers essentially. Not sure what to change.
This is an animation I created. I used Illustrator (for drawing), Animator (for the mouth movements/triggers), and After Effects (for the food animation). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CB89pvS2INM Is there a way I can add the food object in Animator and drag it to the mouth and make it disappear?
Instructional-video-prolific @k_oshiro just published a video on body tracking! https://youtu.be/Vj0Z5cj6sb8 I wonder whether body tracking will make independent layer forearms (hinge joint at elbow) easier to manage too? They are a pain with draggers at present because dragging the wrist if the forearm is independent does not move the upper arm segment. With body tracking controlling each joint, I am hoping it overcomes this problem, which might make elbow joints look better...
I am trying to open an existing project (created in v4.4) into the new Version 22. When it opens, all of my character rigs are gone, as well as their meshes, and in the scene, my characters and BG no longer show up. Is there any special way to bring an older project onto this new version? Or do i need to finish up my project in 4.4. I would love to use body tracking on this one! Thank you for your help!
Hi! I'm not sure there is a solution to this, but I'm willing to try anyway with the help of wiser people!I'm experiencing some problems related to some dangle handles and the transform behaviour. I need a character (for various shot changes) to be able to flip horizontally, without creating and riggin a whole new version of it, as the deadline imposes its shadow. So what I did is to create a X Scale keyframe, and set the keys from 100% to -100%, to do a perfect flip with no transitioning, as I made the keyframes next to the other. So the problem is, if I have a single dangling handle (And I'm plenty) the animation will be ruined as the physic strikes in and it looks like the character exploded for a moment to then settle to position. It is an absolutely logical issue, but I'm wondering if there are any workarounds.(A thing I tried is to keyframe the physics as well, in order to disable that behaviour at the right moment, but that did not seem to work, annd here it b
Hi all, Wanted to try Character Animator after watching a session at the Adobe Max event but even though I can open all my other apps in CC, I get this message when trying to launch CA, any help appreciated thanks
Hello !The bend in my puppet's elbow looks like a problem. I looked for an answer on the net but I couldn't find anything
This is the first time encountering this error and don't know how to fix it. These were the errors:Left Eyeball Layer tagger as Left Pupil Range is not being used by any behaviorsRight Eyeball Layer tagger as Right Pupil Range is not being used by any behaviorsThe eyeball layers were recognized by the program but not been applied to the puppet but follows the default eyeshape. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi getting this when launching Character AnimatorI've reinstalled it but the same. Anyone know what it could be please?
I'm basically trying to get it to where the hands can be moved up to his mouth like he's eating. That's what it looks like in the second screenshot.
Hello, My puppet's face is distorted when I tilt my head, we can see that something is affecting him but I can't find what, and its not the hair, and it is not the hair the puppet does the same if i delete the hair. Isabelle
I saw the video on how to export an entire puppet, thus duplicating it. So I:1. Exported the puppet which created a new .puppet file2. Opened a new project, named it.3. Imported the .puppet file, which brought up a copy of the original puppet but as a duplicate that could be changed without effecting the original puppet. It also coppied my rigging. Here's the problem. The rigging works I press 8 (my custom command) and she clicks her fingers. 1 and she winks, etc. I then click on the duplicated puppet to edit the puppets looks a little without changing her layers or rigging. I change her hair but use identical layers and layer names used in the original. I change her eye size and color, but again keep identical layers and names. I make some more tweeks. The result. When I create a scene and drag my edited puppet in with her new red hair - she doesn't reflect the changes I made in Illustrator; she's still brunette for example. But when I click on rig -- It shows all
So I am trying to export an animation of a lip synced puppet from Character Animator for use in a Premiere Pro CC project and cannot for the life of me get the video to render with transparency so I can overlay it onto a background in my PP project. Every time I try to export it it comes out with a black background even though I have the background color set to transparent. I have been trying to export it in other formats such as quicktime or avi but i do not see options in Adobe Media Encoder to change to 32 bit (which I read somewhere in the forum will enable alpha layers and transparency). Now whenever I try and export to any of these formats I get "Could not read from the source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted." after I start my encoding queue even though I JUST hit export from inside of Character Animator. I also have had issues with trying to import the project directly into PP and After Effects with it either not being able to find the .chproj file I just dragged i
I updated the hands and eyes of a puppet in Photoshop that I had already rigged up and added to a scene in Character Animator. The changes I made to that puppet are reflected when I view the puppet in Rig mode in Character Animator, but the old puppet is still showing in Record mode. How do I get the updated puppet to show in Record mode? Seems strange that the puppet is showing up differently in Rig (new puppet) and Record (old puppet).

Hi All,I've just finished my first animation. I'd welcome your opinions, tips and critiques and, in particular, I have a problem with the guitarist's hand during the solo section of the video. I'd very much appreciate any help or advice on this from the community.https://youtu.be/brXEY2wLfHATIAPhil
Puppet seems to be working well but head is not staying on body. Seems like most trouble shooting I read focuses on making sure both the head and body are not independent, which is how I have it set up; any ideas?

Hey! where would I go to hire someone to create a puppet off of a pre existing graphic? Please email me if you would be interested!
Message when I try to turn on the Body Tracker "Body tracking requires a puppet with an armed (active) and enabled body behaviour" - Character Animation (CH) Beta Hi there Adobe CommunityI have seen the demo video of this Beta version of CH and subsequently downloaded it, and was looking forwarded to getting my puppet to do some funky dance moves (ha ha) using my Son's Band.I should say that I am new to CH, I have searched for an answer to this question on the web and on the forums but failed to find and answer as to how to turn on the body tracker?Would one of you clever people kindly point me in the right direction?ThanksNewby
I'm having a problem with making the burger bounce like the chicken in the second photo. I watched the tutorial at the link below and still having problems. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzYJbZYhxmk (7:32 mark)
I cannot seem to figure out why my scene displays like this in character animator but displays correctly in photoshop or in non-scene view.Any ideas where I can look?
Thanks for reading first of all. I've got a very simple puppet here with one working, draggable arm, and a rattlesnake dangling off of it. When I put the link into After Effects as an Adobe Dynamic link, however, the rattlesnake doesn't dangle the same way (stiffer, less wobble, gravity etc.), and it takes away from the whole look. I'm wondering if I should just give up on the Dynamic link and try a different export>import option (I imagine that might solve it), but was hoping to see if this is something anyone has been able to troubleshoot before. Thanks!
Hi to the community ! Excuse my language as i am french. I'll try to explain my problem in english as well as i can... I am facing an issue with my puppet, especially with hair locks that have "physics" behavior. I noticed it occurs when i use "transformation" on the puppet to add a global movement, that is not piloted by the camera. The hair locks are supposed to move slightly with the character, and it does work most of the time ; but strange things happen right when my key frames occur... The hair locks start turning around the face crazily - and it does not happen everytime, it's random. Some times it doesn't stop, it keeps doing this until i click somewhere in the picture. The only way i have found to stop the problem was to erase the key frames on the transformation behavior ; and do the movement in After Effects. But i would prefer to fix this !Thank you on advance Here are some screenshots of the problem (and of the character when her hair l
