When I try to use (record 2 frame take) it records the arm in the correct posed position but the hands are always in a perpenticular facing down position, not the position it was posed in.Can't figure out why it won't record the posed posiion the puppet is in. Any help would be appreciated, I can't seem to find an answer on this anywhere i"ve looked. Thanks TN
Hello, I am trying to get only my puppets head to move with the following rigging set up. I have tried applying the "Head Turn" behavior to just the Head folder on each angle and it does not seem to be working. Any suggestions would be great. If you rig a puppet with folders such as this:+Character +Frontal Head Body +Left Quarter Head Body +Right Quarter Head Body
I'm struggling with the concept of a head that turns and a body that turns separately (as in the body facing left while the head looks right). There seem to be slight differences in the way it works depending on my file structure. Do I put the profile groups first, with the head/body groups inside? Or the other way around? I thought the file structure would be:Puppet Left Quarter Head Body Right Quarter...But a head turner behavior causes the body to turn with the head. I thought if I don't use head turner, and just do a swap set for all three head groups, and a separate swap set for all three body groups, but that didn't work. Do swap sets only work if they include layers from the same group? If I put the Head group from Left Quarter, Head group from Right Quarter, etc., the swap set fails r
Just as the title says. I have many characters that I have made from the same template. One of them is working is fine. They all have two head postions, looking forward and then looking in another direction. When I have them look in the other direction, some of the chatacters eyebrows stop functioning or their eyes stop functioning or both. I can't figure out the problem.Everything is tagged correctly and their layers are all set up the same, but only one of them is working fine right now. They all used to be working fine and I have recordings of them working, so I don't know what is going on.Any help would be appreciated. https://www.dropbox.com/s/fd7ltwsbzrtfajp/Character%20-%20Kat.ai?dl=0
As the title states I'm having problems using this combo for video capture. I have decent rig and this combo works great in other programs. I cant seem to find any camera controls or settings in Ch. If there is a workaround I could use temporarily that would be great. I see that @3411Jack has the same problem perhaps Elgato products are just unsupported ? I have tried turning it off and on again. It looks like the bottom right is chopped and added to the left side.AMD Ryzen 7 3700x32GB DDR4 3600MHz RAMNvidia GTX 2770 Super Windows 10 Pro Version 1909 (Build 18363.1016)
Hey! 🙂 We have an issue with a puppet that has been drawn in black with a color overlay on Photoshop to make it white ; when we copy it on Character Animator, the white overlay from Photoshop is not taken and the puppet appears black. Do you have and idea on how to solve this? We tried to use the paint buck tool to make it white in Photoshop but it appears in very low quality and we can't really use it this way (pixels everywhere on round surfaces). I guess there might be a way to merge layers to have it white by default? Thank you! 🙂
I work on my laptop and have a second monitor. Seems like a great thing, as having extra workspace is necessary when working with Adobe products. In CH, I used the extra monitor to create a custom workspace. On one screen, my puppet rigging stuff. On the other, my scene and triggers and such. It never crossed my mind that I was putting both Rig and Record mode on screen at the same time. All of Dave's tutorials and everything else I've seen has you switch between Rig and Record. I have noticed that my layout causes funny little things to happen. Occasionally, when I press an arrow key to record a walk behavior, my Rig side will begin expanding each and every group. It seems these little idiosyncrasies are nothing more than an oddity. Or are they? I've been noticing CH acting funny. I set up a swap set and it worked fine a few times, then it didn't. Instead of swapping to the chosen layers, they disappear.
I am having troubles with getting the arm motion to look natural. I have tried different starting positions of the arm and nothing is looking great. I just want the arm to come from a resting position from beside the body, to waving beside the body, back to a resting position beside the body.
I would like to make a request for the deformation around the shoulders and elbows or the characters. I came from 3D rigging to character animator and in 3D we utilize these things calle blendshapes or corrective shapes. Whenever a 3D Character has an ugly deformation, you have the option of positioning your character in that ugly shape and sculpting what you rather it look like when the character hits that pose. This gets saved and you create a control to tell the program when to utilize that new shape and it blends from a previous pose into that new pose to hit that pose with the correction. I hope this makes sense. I would love to see something like this in character animator.
Hi All. I am looking for a good workflow for this project. I have a human (me) talking to a talking-head puppet. Both are in a conversation. The approach I have tried is to video the human and his side of the conversation. Someone talks the puppet's lines for timing. Then make the puppet audio and use the Lip Sync feature to animate the puppet. The problem I am finding is that the timing of the back and forth dialogue gets out of sync and I am doing a lot of video triming. The result is acceptable, but not great. Here is a link to the Draft Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69xPVmhIZdwDoes anyone have a solution that works better than this?
Hi, I have a face distortion issue. Would you please help me sort this out, everything is tagged properly, may be I am overlooking something. Thank you.https://drive.google.com/file/d/16Gsuo_Vb8yjRTT8rGYaaNklRdr9O4oW0/view?usp=sharing
Hello there! First time on the fourms, so please let me know if I've done anything wrong 🙂 BackgroundI used Adobe Premiere Pro regularly to edit videos. Recently, I've decided that it might be cool to learn how to use more applications included in my CC subscription. I decided to start with Adobe Character Animator, as it looked fun! The ProblemAdobe Character Animator 2020 (Version 3.2 Build 65) displays a distorted and discolored (mostly desaturated) view of my webcamera. Additional DetailsMy 'webcamera' is a Nikon DSLR plugged into an Elgato GameCapture HD60Pro via HDMI. Skype, Discord, OBS Studio, and Zoom all recognize this as a camera input with no problems. The drivers for the capture card are up to date. Character Animator is up to date (just installed it!) Hi,i'm learning character animator, and can see i've succed to animate a simple face puppet in the link below : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxdP-T8HMz4 But i try to make a turning head puppet like the ninja exemple, and i don''t understand anything about why it's not working. There's only one very quick tutorial about this ninja from koay samurai here :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAvulDcDUwk&t=183s and it didn't help me at all.Does anybody can explain me how to do this ?sometimes the body doesn't appear, sometimes the head is not connected with the neck, it apparently depends of wich part i mark as independant or not. I will surely finally find how to make a puppet on one sight. But what about the turning head ?
What do I need to do to fix theses issues Please help!I promise to be back again needing more help, one day I will be able to help others.Thank you very much. Lee
So I only done short 1 mintue videos before with CH, and the rendering time wasn't so long for what I could remember. But now I need to do 2 videos of about 2,5 minutes and 7.5 minutes Big question.. How long does rendering take for CH videos???? Also... the 2.5 minute video has a lot of junk after 2.5 minutes that I do not want to render... How do I make sure those are cut off? After seeing that I have 3 hours to go I went to the CH project and split and deleted the the sections of the items that went beyond the 2.5 mintues that I need, but the rendering time still way up on the 3 hr mark. I guess I could prepair some videos and leave them redenring over night, but is there a faster way to do it too?
So I selected a white background color for the video, and the entire video plays with a plane white color on the back, why would it be that when I render the video it come up with a black background? How could I make sure it would render with the white background that I see on the video?
I downloaded the Kaufman puppet and am trying to edit the color of his t-shirt and horns. However, I'm not able to change the colors of any part of the puppet. It seems I can only move elements around or make them smaller and larger. Is there a way to edit Kaufman's colors?
Was editing my puppet and added something on my photoshop file waiting for it to connect and then got this error. I cant connect back to the original, I just keep getting this error. Please Help!
Is there a way I can change a section of the audio recording in CH?I would like to change a single word from the audio recording, but I want to do from CH so I don't have to re-import the audio track and re-do sync and everything. Is there a way I can mute a section of the audio track and put another word on top of it and then comeback to the original audio track? Obviously I am trying to keep the timing of everything in the very same spot and that is why I don't want to re-record the original track.
When working ....it shut down due to power failure...now the project file not opening ....it showing this error...is there any solution for this? or I've to work from scratch again..
Just started rigging my character and I can't seem to get the eyes to function normally. I used the Blank Puppet so it may be the way my eyes are drawn? Any ideas?
I built a puppet downloading the "Blank" character and replacing parts with my own artwork. Everything worked fine, then I decided to start adding Head Turns.I watched some videos, I'm pretty sure I followed the correct heiarchy, but afterward, the head would float off the neck. I looked up some tutorials and followed a few suggestions here, and things just got worse. Current issues: - Pupils spin when I turn or tilt my head - Mouth, eyes, and bottom of the face warps on certain head movements - "Smile" layer no longer shows white teeth on frontal view, only skin tone. -Pins not holding bottom of the puppet down -Original head sticking to neck problem I tried to get all parts marked to the correct Independent toggle, double checked my handles and tags, I can't tell what I've done (it's only my second day messing with it), but I am sure my fixing was actually my breaking.
Previously I used arm movements by draging a wrist handle with the mouse to a certain position. Is there a way that instead of dragging the handle with the mouse that I could use a transform behaviour on the dandle and then move it to and X or Y position?
Is there a way to make items with the Dangle behavior, such as hair, not activate between Keyframes? For instance, if you take the sample puppet Chloe and record a few seconds, then add keyframes that simulate a camera cut—say from 100% scale to 200% centered on face—the hair will move, even though it shouldn't because it's just a "camera" move. And if you combine a move along the X axis the hair move can get really funky. I've tried keyframing Dangle and Physics behaviors but that doesn't seem to do anything. I'm on the latest version of CA 3.3.1 (not beta), macOS 10.15.6 Catalina, most recent MBP 16 inchThanks in advance for any suggestions.
I would like to display my output steam to my Microsoft TEAM meetings without sharing my desktop, is this possible?
