It would be super cool if you can add a "Fluid / Liquid" behavior to Character Animator. You already have something kind of similar with the "particle" behavior. It would be nice to animate fluid running trhough pipes taking the shape of different objects... think of an animation like filling a cup of water. Fluid can come down by gravity, or be pushed up or sideways to animate the motion of fluid being pushed by a pump. If you start getting fancy enough you could change viscosity / density and animate how objects float or sink. If you get fancy, fancy enough ou could animate water coming out of a hose, similar to the particles coming out of a cannon.
I was working on a important project, and my computer crashed.when I was opening my project back, Im gettitng an error that says:any help?
Ok, I posted about this earlier in this is a bit of progress. See video link below. I need a cylinder rod to move in and out of the cylinder body in a straight linear motion up to limit, so I never want the cylinder rod to go all the way out of the cylinder body, or all the way hidden inside the body. I think I could add a stick to the cylinder rod, and maybe pins to the cylinder body, but from there, how could I do the rest? Video here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6pcq13i60Y
Just wanted to ask if anyone has any experience using Character Animator on the recent Macbook Pro models - specifically the basic 13" and 16" 2020 models. Any input at all would be useful. Would it be a viable option for doing professional work on the go, without it siginficantly slowing down the process in comparison to working on a desktop? Cheers.
Hello,I have problems as you can chick in the uploaded video with the pupil's movement. only the right pupil moves left and right while the other doesn't move at all. Also, both don't move up and down. I've just started using the program and was following Okay Samurai tutorial on youtube and I'm stuck here. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL024_E1AUk&t=1749s

Hello all. My issue is I can't open downloaded PSD puppet files in photoshop. When i do i get an error, which I'll post a picture of below. However, the example puppets work just fine in opening in photoshop. I've tried some file converters for the puppets but even the online converters say it'snot a supported file format. I'm curious how to open these files in photoshop, thanks! This issue is on windows btw I'm very new to the software and just trying to get started using a blank downloaded template. I eventually have a goal of drawing stuff, scanning it, and making some fun puppet stuff for youtube lol. Thanks for the help!
I have trouble with exporting my scenes to premiere pro cc. It moves laggy and it freezes sometimes but the audio is perfect. When I did on the video in premiere pro CC sequence > render selection the video was like it was on character animator but it took like a half hour for a video from 5 minutes and if I need to do it on every scene it takes a long time. A few weeks ago I could be doing just by putting the scenes in premiere pro. I don't think the problem is by my puppets because it works perfectly in character animator and also if I did sequence > render selection in premiere.I hope somebody has a clue about which problem it is.-I tried restarting my computer-I closed everything else so that my CPU and all those things were clearThank you for helping me.
I'm still kinda guessing about layer structures, orders, and the dependent/independent status. In this example here, I already marked the Bottom parent layer (which inside is the pants and shoes) as independent, yet it moves when recording with face behavior. FYI, there are 2 face behaviors to this puppet: One is the default one, for the head. And an additional face behavior applied to the torso layer, which also tagged as head and NOT marked as independent (meaning it is part of the NJNS puppet). Therefore, all things not marked independent, like the arm, should be part of the NJNS puppet, and thus moves together with the torso layer. Right? Makes sense. And vice versa, the layers marked as independent in a same level as the torso layer should not be affected by that face behavior applied to the torso layer. Right? Well, not so fast. In this puppet the bottom layer is moving with the torso EVEN THOUGH it is marked as independent.I tried another part to be independent and see if it will
everytime i click the download button, it sends me to adobe creative clouds to buy the software....

I made some scenes with puppets in adobe Character Animator and now I tried to export it to premiere pro cc. But the video lags on premiere pro CC and I have no clue what the reason is. The audio is running smooth but the mouth and the movements from the puppets are lagging.
After I record my puppet, I change the puppet's eyebrow, eyes, clothes and posture to record another scene. However once I change it, it impacts on the past recording and the appearance of puppet in the past record looks the same as the puppet I just set up now. I lost all the replays and record settings in the past. Is there any way I can keep the past recording setting and make a new scenes?
Hi, When I work with the character animator I can see the mesh, which tells me that some sort of depth map or 3D model is being generated. Is there a way for me to have it exported somewhere (e.g. depth map to photoshop)? I want to play with some depth effects in the After Effects, but it requires quite a lot of work if I go about it manually. I am fine with having something crude. Is that a thing that is possible? Failing to find some reasonable workflow
I have a cartoon with Front, Right, and Left walking profiles. How can I make the head move from left to right without the body moving? How can you set this up as a trigger? Thanks
I have a 3 profile puppet built using the "Business guy" as a template. however when I try to add arm tags to my left profile.(having added them to frontal and right profile) it no longer works. when I remove the tags, the left profile appears again when pressing left arrow key again.
I realized that hands (built like example models of CA, dragger on hand piece)are actually able to be zoomed using 2fingersbut I don't know if it's a bug, it is not possible to zoom 2hands at the same time only 1hand can be zoomed(My tablet is multi point touch supported tablet and I am able to play piano with it)(Both hands are built in the same way, both hands are zoomable but not at the same timeI can zoom them one by one but not both) Also, hand which is zoomed in or zoomed out cannot be re-zoomed in or out again...The only way to reset the size of the hand is to use dragger option to make it to it's default position.(return to rest) Has anyone tried to rig hands using touch option ?Are you having same zoom in out issue like me ? (Can be zoomed just once, cant rig both hand)
Can I use auto lip sync in Character Animator with my own cartoon jpeg or png? Most of the YouTube and Adobe tutorials focus on creating one's own puppet from scratch, or using the stock puppets. I want to use my own cartoon image and make him speak/talk! Is this possible? I am a beginner to animating, so easy-to-use instructions would be much appreciated!
I am drawing from Illustrator and would like to animate some drawings in Character animator. What file format should I save from Illustrator to work on Character animator?
I am trying to use character animator to animate objects. In this case I want to animate a hydraulic cylinder. (see attached picture below) I can draw the cylinder in illustrator and send it to character animator. As fluid comes in or out of either side of the cylinder, the rod end of the cylinder encircled en red moves in or out of the body of the cylinder. Using Character Animator, what do you think is the best way to create a perfect straight line motion of the cylinder rod moving in or out of the cylinder body? Next we can do 3 x stuff.. for those who already thinking about it...
Hello,I'm using Midilink mini (& bass gutar )usb via Character Animator ver 3.3.1.There is recognition of the midi notes, and midi notes triggered played, BUTWhile I play the notes there is error , code: 829106661:284+12 . I hope it will be fixed soon, so basicly while I play my guitar the character will move live without error.
Hi, I'm trying to export an animated sequence from CA with a transparent background, but can't seem to get it to work. Ive tried exporting with Alpha but still my background is black. I need the transparent background so I can place my character into an Articulate Storyline file. Articulate allows the import of SWF, so am wondering if there is a way to export from CA to some other program that will then export to SWF. Any help appreaciated.
