Hello there,I'm having an issue that I've been trying to solve for hours and hours...I've had a similar issue before, then I figured it out, but now I guess I've changed something in my PS file that caused my puppet to reset all the work I've done to it so far. I'm trying to fix it, but the puppet is all distorted now. My puppet is on a table, and apparently, I can't fix the table or make it apart from the puppet. When the puppet moves, the table moves with it, and it's not a "crowned" item.I just placed a ridiculous amount of pins to it, but it still distorts when the puppet captures my webcam movements. I've tried to look at some puppets with tables on it like "wizard girl" or "almasol", and I can't seem to figure out what they did to fix the table so the puppet doesn't interfere with it. The puppets "wizard girl" and "almasol" don't seem to have any fixing pins or the tables tagged as fixed. So I have no clue on how they've managed to make the table still. Also, I've pinned the arms
Hello, how can I make the eye box smaller? I use the Tull character eyes for my character, but the left eyes are off screen. The right eye works perfectly it just the left.
This might be a silly question, but I want to use the character I created to post on IG and FB. How do I do that? Please direct me to a tutorial that will allow me to do that. Thanks in advance!
Hi guys,We are create a bird character animator. When our bird no fly we use the wings like “arm” to gesticular. The problem is when we activate “action to fly”, we need that layer “arm” desappear.
Hallo everyone.I just made a puppet and when I set the arm IK, I found that it doesn't work.I set the stretchiness to 1% so that I think the arm shouldn't stretches .I don't know why .I show the settings. The language is Chinese and I don't how to change it but I think it could be referenced.Thank you.
I understand trigger and behavior but is it possible for a character to have a slide up animation and hold still on the last layer and return back down. I got the pop up the trigger, and a slide up animation but it doesn't hold the last layer. How can I improve this? I want them to gradually go up and have a pause on the last layer until I release, and go back down.[Here is the list of all Adobe forums... https://forums.adobe.com/welcome][Comments is to ask about the operation of the Forum, not a specific program][Moved from the Comments forum to the specific Program forum... I'm running Character Animator Version 2.1.1 in Windows 10. I have a puppet that has two alternate mouth sets (Angry and Sad). My original mouth set has a default of Neutral. I want to be able to switch from Neutral to Happy (Smile), to Angry, to Sad. I also have four eyebrow sets, one for each mouth state. The problem is that when I'm in Record view and switch to Angry or Sad, the Angry or Sad mouth shows up on top of the Neutral mouth. The eyebrows switch fine, its just the mouth that's the problem. Here is a screen shot of my puppet in Rig view with the Neutral expression. Here is a shot of the Sad Expression showing the three mouth sets. Here is what Sad looks like in Record viewHere is a shot of the swap set
Are there any other VR artists here? I work in tilt brush and Gravity Sketc. I'm looking to connect with others who are interested in VR art and want Adobe to get more involved 🙂 Here's what it's about;Tilt Brush Artist in Residence - YouTube cheers,Angie
HiI have watched Dave Werner's recent video on puppet creation and replicated the required components and placed them in a similar order as shown in the screen shots below. I made a recording during which I blinked several times but none of this showed up. I also made sure my eyes did not move from side to side or up and down. However, in the recording the puppet's eyes do move. In his video Dave made reference to potential "gremlins in the code".As his puppet worked perfectly, hopefully blinking is not liable to go astray. If someone could shed light on what has gone wrong in this example I would be very grateful.Geoff Axon
I have a choice between illustrator and Photoshop for my puppets. I’m very familiar with both programs so neither make a difference. I want to choose which one will be the best regarding performance and file size. Which is better?A Photoshop file with many linked puppet assets? Or an illustrator file with many linked puppet assetS?Also what our general rule of thumb for assets?. Is embedded better than linked? are symbols better than embedded objects?I will be keeping many assets in the Adobe creative cloud library. What workflow set up could I do that would get me the maximum performance for my puppet with the most optimum and low file size? Thank you so much for your help.
hi there.I'm having a problem with dangle behavior. Everything seems to work perfectly in the scene preview window during recording and playback. But when I Export the scene via Adobe Media Encoder or PNG Sequence, the dangle area starts moving all over the place and the character gets distorted so much. The character is a simple dragonfly and the tail is to dangle. I have tried so many things such as put the wings of cycle layers to off thinking its taking too much computation. Added just only the dragonfly to a new scene and tried exporting. I hope you have a solution to this problem as to why this is causing and a work around for this problem. Thanks so much in advance. Hello guys, I have a Spongebob puppet doing the "imagination" animation, its 16 frames long but every time I play it... it lags, therefore missing some frames, I need to play it many times before it runs smoothly, but then if I press other triggers and come back to the "imagination" trigger, the same lag occurs, so again I need to play it many times to get it smooth. Is there something I'm missing, or it's the computer fault?
Hello, I had follow videos to fix this issue, but I can't seem to fix it. My head move, and pin the head and add the nut cracker below the mouth. I add fix pin to one eye(your right) because it kept moving. My head bouncing. The left eye is stiff and don't blink. I don't know what I did wrong. The neck is fine. I add images below.[E-mail removed by moderator.] cpaneto[Here is the list of all Adobe forums... https://forums.adobe.com/welcome][Moved from generic Cloud/Setup forum to the specific Program forum... Hello, my question is if I can have a character with a draggable body, with legs that stay in place and knees that bend? Recently I had an animation I needed to do and it would have been nice if I could have that sort of effect. You can have IK arms, and you can have draggable legs, and walking legs, but I've never seen a tutorial or instance of anyone having a character that can bounce up and down and have the legs bend but stay in place. This is fairly easy to do with 3D rigging but I haven't been able to get this to work in character animator. Here is an attempt I've made to get there. I've tried rigging the legs like you would for a walk cycle, I've tried making them independent and non independent. Here's what the leg rig currently looks like:I wondered if tricking character animator into thinking the legs were IK arms would allow the behavior I wanted but it didn't work. I tried with both tagging them as arms and legs and the result is the same. If anyone knows of a way to achiev
Hi folks! Is there a way to create more trigger keys?I have now whole alphabet and numbers in use haha.I tried several things myself:- Special signs: !?€- Pressing multiple alphabet and numbers at the same time: abc 123 (this would be perfect with creating macros!)Only thing I could find was midi solutions.Anybody facing the same issue, or found a solution?Would love to hear from you guys!Greetz MarcoTitle was edited by: Mod
Hello, could somebody please help me out with the attach feature in character animator? I am thoroughly confused I never seem to understand on which layer I should place a fixed stick or a handle to attach things. If I should make it independent or not.And when I do things keep floating away and peeling off.Can somebody point me to any links or information besides the user guide where somebody clearly explains the attach feature? It would be so much appreciated. Thank you. Help.Title was edited by: Mod
Latest project <a href="http://www.tishtoon.com">here</a> ... check it out...Hey all.. just finished what was (for me) an epic endeavor. I had no idea 8 minutes would suck this much of my soul... in other words I learned A TON in the process.I tied this cartoon in with a social emotional learning lesson (not as boring as it sounds) with some first graders here in Seattle. After telling them the story, I had them create artwork which I told them would be included in the cartoon (which was not even started at the time).I received over 60 damn pictures from the students. I had to scan them all and dissect them in Photoshop. They didn't all actually make it in, but every student that drew something has at least ONE pic in there. The point is, this was unexpectedly hella time consuming. I saw the kids in late February. I am JUST finishing TONIGHT. The last day of school is: TOMORROW. They have been waiting for months to see this. I can't wait to go show them tomorrow.I hav
I'm using Character Animator 2.1.1 and After Effects 15.1.2Initially, I was exporting my scenes from CA and importing them into AE. This apparently is more of a copy/paste method, so changes to the scene need to be exported again and imported again. Some of the work done on the scenes in AE would need to be done again as well.I was using this method because the simple "drag your scene into AE" method wasn't working. Come to find out, in order for DDL to work, the versions of the two apps had to be compatible. I noticed I was behind on an upgrade to AE, so I updated it.That's when the S hit the fan. I was able to bring scenes into AE and as far as I could tell, they were linked by DDL to the scenes in CA. After a very short period of time (minutes) working in AE, I received an internal error, out of bounds and AE froze. This happens repeatedly, now as soon as I open the project. I've tried a new project and bringing the assets from the old
Hello, I am having trouble trying to figure out what setting would be preventing movement from the mouse once recording has started. I am able to produce movement with cycles and I'm able to move the character only when I'm not recording.I downloaded one of the free puppets and got the same results so I assume it has to be a setting?
Hello everyone!Hopefully you can help. I have a puppet with frontal, Left Quarter and Right Quarter heads. The Regular Mouth and alternative mouths only work (with lipsync) in frontal. When the head is turned left or right, only the Neutral state of the alternative set is shown, however the lips don't move.I have a swap set setup which has the regular mouth set and the sadset (sad mouth set) for all three views. The trigger works to initiate them all, however the lipsync does not seem to move the alternative mouth in left and right, only front view.I followed this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzYJbZYhxmkWhich is how I got the profile sadset to work, and I repeated the steps for the sadsets of the other heads, but still no dice.
Hello, I'm fairly new to adobe character creator, I can't figure out how to make the head and body move around smoothly. At the moment the top of the head seems to be stuck while the bottom of the head and body moving too much that it's warping the shape. I used the Barbarasaurus puppet from adobe as the template for my puppet. link to my puppet hereHope someone can help me thanks
I am trying to add a completed scene that I recorded, to the timeline so that I could adjust my timings between my characters. However when I try to import the scene from my project panel in character animator and drop it down to my timeline it refuses to do it and I get that round circle icon. Does anybody know why this is happening. Thank you so much I appreciate the help
Hello!I replicated the shadows as explained nicely in one of the fantastic tutorials from Dave Werner on YouTube.10 advanced rigging tips. It all works well. The thing is: My character has arms with draggable handles.--> How do I make the shadow arms move around simultaneously as a shadow normally would? (Except when the cowboy is faster!)The problems seems to be:Ch always uses the "draggable" handle closest to where my mouse points, but never two handles at the same time. So the result is: Either my arm is moving without the shadow caring about it at all, useful for Lucky Luke animations only, or, you guessed it, the other way round: The shadow moves with no original arm bending to explain that movement.Any ideas?A possible workaround would be using magnetism, I guess, but this is not a long-term solution since it would lessen the puppet's or scene's ability to use magnets for the originally intended purposes, i.e. grabbing a fish, etc., plus the behaviour is designed for particles
Hi guys,(please note that I am testing with 3.0 build 127)I seem to find the very first thing I learned (starting back in the "puppet tool at After Effects" days) very hard to do for a while now, maybe you can help me.What I want to do is this: - Move a puppet around with its legs fixed to the ground via mouse / draggable handle. The puppet should not leave the ground. What I did was this: 1.) (At the highest level of the puppet) I added a fixed stick through both feet horizontally, added the "fix" tag.2.) (At the same highest level) I added a "draggable" handle (or, bwo variation added the tag "draggable") to the origin handle of the puppet.3.) I tried different puppets - apart from my own - only Adobe templates.4.) I tried a couple of variations. The outcome was never what I wantedA.) Either the legs weren't attached to the floor at all (i.e. the puppet would move as a whole)B.) The legs stayed fixed to the ground but the head stayed fixed to an imaginatory ceiling so that I could only
Hi, I created the handles and applied walk cycle behavior on my puppet as per online tutorial in okaysamurai... Every thing seemed fine except the head part gets disrupted everytime the body makes movement. oksamurai
