HelloAt 18 mins 14secs of the Character Animator Complete Animation Workflow video Dave Werner drags the mouth layer from a Photoshop puppet over to the puppet he is creating. When I try to drag the mouth layer of a functioning puppet I have already created in Illustrator over to a puppet I am assembling a black "no entry" symbol appears next to my cursor and no transfer of mouth takes place. If someone can shed light on this I would be very grateful. Thanks
Hi! I just started using Adobe Character Animator today. I have used photoshop for half a year now and I have experimented with animation usually in photoshop but I wanted to try character animator to get a touch at the face and how that program works so I could later on use it on animate or after affects when I want to learn that. I have used a lot of time in photoshop so am well known to the program, but am new to how it works with character animator. So first off, I manage to get the whole face to work out really fine, both the eyes, brows and mouths all working perfectly. ...I didn't get the hair to move, I tried but it didn't work out. I used the pen -> had it on form and marked first the "origin" and then the "dangle", but it didn't seem to work sadly. But thats a problem I will look into after I get the body right.SO this is how my layers are in photoshop: (kropp means body in Norwegian)So the foot is a layer, the legg is a layer and so it goes on. I want to make this fit to
If Character Animator for Windows is crashes when switching between workspaces (e.g., between Record and Rig), we've become aware of an issue with recent NVIDIA display drivers (e.g., version 419.xx). If you have recently updated your NVIDIA display driver, the current workarounds are as follows:Install an older version of the NVIDIA driver (e.g., 417.xx or earlier). If you also have integrated graphics, try to force Character Animator to use integrated graphics instead of discrete graphics (NVIDIA).We are working with NVIDIA on a solution, and will update this FAQ when an updated driver is available. Sorry for the inconvenience.Updated Apr 11, 2019: The updated driver from the NVIDIA site (e.g., 425.31 for the GeForce GTX 960M) no longer causes Character Animator to crash. Please check the nvidia.com site for the latest driver for your GPU.
I have a great puppet that I made and rigged that I want to use as a template. However every time I change something in the new puppet the old puppet is updated or vice versa it’s a nightmare. How can I simply create a new project import my template puppet change it and save it in a completely different folder so that these puppets new and old don’t keep getting confused. And so I could keep updating the different Photoshop files without destroying the old and new versions?I’m completely confused about the whole gathered media folders where the puppets should be stored with the Photoshop file and how to copy and move these so that everything doesn’t get mixed up. I need a workflow please help.
I am having a problem with a puppet I thought I was opening in it's own project but it opened in what I had been working on. Also, what I had been working on now has six copies of the same puppet because... I don't know. How do I rid myself of unwanted copies?
Hi all,I am loving the new CH update, especially the fact that you can now quickly create triggers for transform behaviors. My question is, is there a way to add any type of delay to the trigger that it creates. I set the size I want to to scale to, or Y position I want it to move to, and when I create and use the blended trigger, it is almost an instant response after pressing the button. I am wondering is there a way to increase a delay to this? I do understand if I do it the original way of recording the animation I want, and then blending the sides, then creating the trigger that way, but I was trying to see if there is an easier way to streamline the process. If there is not a way to do this at the moment, then consider this a possible feature request. On the side of the newly created trigger, have the "0s" be editable to get a smoother result. Thanks for taking the time to read,Austin
I made my puppet using the chloe puppet structure....I am a beginner. I want to learn how to build the left and right side profiles so i can program them with the walk behaviour i tried and my puppet keep falling apart. Im not understanding the hierarchy too well.
There is no puppet appearing in the scene. All of a sudden the area is just blank. It shows the puppet in the Timeline. I've added it a second time and both show up in the timeline but none show up in the scene. The one inexplicable thing is when I tap on the Scene portion the Properties panel changes to having a red background behind the puppet name and all the puppet tracking behaviors close. Anybody know what I'm talking about?Christine

Firstly - I am completely new to animate cc and am using the Proteus puppet (lets get that out of the way first!). I make visual changes to the character in the rig then export character before importing it to my library and scene. However when I import it to a scene I get a completely different character.. what am I doing wrong?! I can not find any tutorials on how to use the templated characters?!
I have been working on this for almost a week. When I add the Cycle Layers behavior to my puppet the entire puppet disappears from the stage. The Cycle Layers also does not show up in the Properties panel. The issue I am dealing with is the Puppet disappears from the stage and doesn't come back until I eliminate the Cycle Layers property. What am I doing wrong?
There's a problem with my character animator. As soon as I open Adobe Ch this problem shows up: data\temp.noindex\compiler\behaviorparambootstrap-adobe.fader.js error code: (require-synchronous.js:19) or also this (down below).Does anybody know how to fix this?Kind regards Timon
HiI made a puppet on photoshop, and when I imported it to Character Animator, it's much bigger and doesn't fit into the screen. I searched through the forums and saw that you could simply scale it down, which I did to about 75%. However, only certain things get scaled down. For instance, my character remained having a huge 100% mouth, while the rest of the body got scaled down to 75%. What am I doing wrong? I really just want my character to fit in the screen
Hey all,So I've got some custom puppets set up as PSDs based on the example Blank Face included in the program. All's working well, except for one thing - when lip-syncing the puppet to a pre-recorded audio clip (using the Timeline command: Compute Lip Sync from Scene Audio).Which works great, except for one issue: fairly frequently, between changing shapes or during pauses, the mouth will disappear for a single frame. Which is fairly noticeable as it keeps happening and makes the animation pretty painful to look at.Any fixes? I've scoured google and the forums with no luck. Thanks in advance!
I thought I'd ask on here if anyone can help with our Carmera issue in Character Animator on Windows 10.We've tried with 2 cameras. Each camera works fine with the windows camera app and with skype (which we then close). But Character Animator, for some reason, doesn't find either camera (yes we've tried one at a time).Up until December Character Animator could find and use the webcam then it stopped. Yes we've tried rolling back to CA v2.0Could Adobe provide a utility to give info on what's causing the camera to be unavailable to CA?What does CA need that Skype and the windows camera app don't need? The details of everything we've tried and the advice we've received so far are in the link below:-Bug report: 'No camera selected' showing in the camera & microphone window. – Adobe video & audio appsWe'd appreciate any ideas.
I'm creating my first puppet from scratch and have been following the online tutorial. I created him in photoshop and imported him into Character Animator. Everything seems fine for the first few seconds and then the puppet jumps to the right of the screen and stretches a little bit then pops back. This random movement gets captured when I record also. It's very frustrating. Any ideas? Thanks,Chris
I am attempting to upload and map a pre-rigged character exported as an fbx file to Mixamo, but I got stuck where it says "Make sure that the Embed media option is turned on when creating the .fbx file to embed textures." Where in Mixamo is the Embed media option? I can't find any tutorials for uploading pre-rigged characters either. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Ben
Hi! How could i make some part to belong to head but to cover body? I have a character with a beard, so i want that beard would cover body and shoulders. How can i reach it?
I'm a teacher and I have a student who's made a puppet but when she turns her head left the puppet responds in the opposite direction. I haven't seen this before and tested that the tutorial puppets do respond correctly so there must be something in the students project that is wrong. Any suggestions?
Can I get adobe certification for Ch?Thanks
I am still new to Character Animator and want to create puppets in Illustrator. Is there a comprehensive template with layers for eyes, legs, mouthes, etc.? I found a template but it did not have all of these layers.Thanks.Title was edited by: Moderator
