Hello Community!I am new to Character Animator, and I tried adding a walk cycle to my puppet. Every time I want to move my puppet with the arrow-keys to see the walk cycle, it jumps randomly around ( also bends whole character to one side) When I scrub through the timeline the character looks normal, but when I stop, it jumps around. You can see better what I mean in this video: https://we.tl/t-rqtCMryCxC Can anyone help me?Thanks in advance!Sophie
Hi there,I want my character, a beautifull young female, can go with her forearm in front and with her upper arm behind her body (or do i have to say boobies). What's the way do get this done?Bob
Hi There,I'm new to character. i have rigged up the arms of my characters using the tutorial. one arm is working perfectly. The other isn't. The hand seems like it's locked in the same direction so it isn't rotating to use the direction of the arm.And the arm is kind of doubling up on itself rather than moving like the other one...any ideas?
It may be obvious, but had a fun use for clipping masks. I created a new top level "Dirty" layer of grey smudges. In the puppet I put "Create Clipping Mask" on the "Dirty" layer.
Happy Thanksgiving all! I hope people are spending quality time with family and friends! (So don't ask me why I am on my computer!! 😉
Hey,I have a problem with my puppet kira. The left arm does not move as it should (from the angle it should move like the right arm).I wanted to solve this with ARM IK so that it moves in the opposite direction. Unfortunately ARM IK does not align anything.I tagged all body parts as Okay Samurai explains in the video. When I then look into the handles of the ARM IK behavior, some tags are not recognized. It looks weird when i move from right to left.here is the Link to the puppetMany thanks in advanceHope for a quick answer.
I downloaded the trial for adobe character animator so i could save time on lip syncing. When I tried out one of the templates I noticed that the audio wasn't working so i checked the prefrences but all options for both input and output have the message ''not working''. I am aware that my mic insn't recording but the audio output should be working. Does anyone know why this is?
Hi there, following the YouTube by Okay Samurai tutorial ( Getting Started in Adobe Character Animation CC) which I like very much, I have encountered an issue: after adding the draggable handles, the arm would not move in the scene mode. All other features of the app seems to look just fine. Would anybody please, point me out where the solution of the above mentioned issue would be ? Thank you in advance.
Hi guys,This is a real head scratcher… or maybe I am doing something very silly! lolI’ve always had no issue at all with CH but since I updated my Mac to Mojave (that may not be the issue tho) I can’t get CH to pick up my audio… it always worked with both the built in mic and external mic but now it doesn’t pick it up anything at all… the mics are working on everything else just not in CH.I have also installed the older version of CH but it still doesn’t work.As a work around I recorded the audio in Audition and imported it in but when there’s no talking the mouth disappears… see an example of this here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knMYXj3PPtsThe puppet Chloe works ok with this audio so I must be be doing something wrong here.Any help would be much, much appreciated as am all out of ideas Andrew
I don't know if this is a bug or a feature of the new update, but I am having trouble with dragger arms attached by hinges and how to interact when set to return to rest. Before the update, they would return to the default position that was set in the Photoshop file. But after the update, the arm straightens out facing in the direction that the dragger has been moved in and after the duration set under return to rest it will immediately snap back to the default position. This does not only happen on my original puppets but it also happens on the stock puppets as well (I specifically tested it with Stardust). Is this supposed to happen and is any way to fix this so it the dragger/hinge combo to work how it used to?For reference here is the problem in action, I completely reinstalled Character Animator and reset all the settings. the file is the stock Stardust puppet and the only thing I changed in the file was how long the return duration is on the dragger from 0.3 to 2 so that th
Greetings, I have a puppet with two views "+Front" and "+Right Quarter". Within each are the "Head" and "+Body" layers. In the Front view puppet, the "Right Arm" is within the "+Body" layer. However, in the Right Quarter view, I had to put the "Right Arm" within the "+Body"/"+Torso" layer (the Torso is a Group within the Body). I had to do this to keep the order of layers such that they overlap correctly. I have attached a screen grab of the "Right Quarter" layers. Will these two different structural hierarchies cause a problem in CA? Thanks in advance for your reply.Regards,Rajnesh========Screen Grab of "Right Quarter" Layers:
I'm wondering whether anyone has any ideas regarding animating a character riding a bike. I know this can be done in After Effects (or Animate even...), but seems like it would be a nice thing to do in Character Animator. I'm thinking about bringing in a puppet for the bike, and applying walk behaviour to a character to get the leg movement.
So I created a green layer just like the video tutorial. As I do not wan the eyes floating out of socket. But the Masking option is there, but in light grey thus it can not be used what is wrong?Also... tried recording the eye movement with a mouse as opposed camera control.... but it is not working like it did with the Beta. Eyes are not moving or popping into a direction.
I’ve already made a few puppets with success in the last few weeks. However, now with a new puppet (using the template of a previous puppet which I’ve made, that is attempting the same functions and perspective), everytime i open up the puppet in a scene, it just slowly falls off the screen.i managed to get the puppet standing still at one point (I was trying different things and it worked). But, whenever I attempt to drag the body while having the feet planted, he doesn’t return normally, and instead, has some sort of a slow-mo inertia that keeps moving in a direction until he body bends all the way down until his head touches the ground. Best way to describe it, would be having a very weak and pliable/bendable spineAny ideas what‘s happenin?
Hi guys, this is my first video character puppet on my youtube channel.Thinking to make a series like this. What do you think ?5 Cool Features Google Pixel 2 XL - Insanity Films ( FUNNY ) - YouTube Not a spam or anything really, just wanted a feedback, since this is my very first one !Cheers.PS: thanks to Okay Samurai !
Hi All, I have created a puppet and added the walk and head turn behaviours on it.However, the walk behaviour does not work properly.First, the head of the puppet cannot stick to the body while it is walking.Secondly, the puppet cannot walk normally as the following picture:Could anyone give any ideas to solve these problems? Here is the link to download my puppet. Many thanks.
So I'm wanting to animate a robot character whose mouth glows at varying intensities correlated to how loud his voice is. The character is the robot in this animation, which was created in After Effects:Introducing: A Kiss Goodnight with Ephram - YouTube I'm wondering if Character Animator happens to have a similar feature, or if I would just need to settle with a different method. Thanks!
I've done this before, but can't get it to work on my current puppet.I've got a Frontal and Right Profile setup for my puppet. I've assigned the Walk behavior to the top level on my puppet and I've successfully configured him to walk using the Start with left & right arrow keys setup. I can also see my frontal guy in Record mode. But I can't get it to switch from frontal to profile. I get whichever one or ones are selected in the Rig window. If both are visible in Rig, Frontal appears on top of Right Profile when I switch to Record mode. How do I get it so I see Frontal mode any time I haven't pressed the left or right arrow?Martin
I use AE on almost all my projects and it is NOT fun. Character animator scenes seem to really bog down anything I do in AE and make rendering almost impossible. My AE also goes into not responding mode frequently until I have to force the program to quit. This is very annoying and not at all productive. Do others have this problem when using CH and AE?Any recommendations on set up or getting things to go smoothly?I'm working on a brand new 8th gen I7 with 16GB RAMApps on SSD and files on HDDThanks!
Hey,I have a problem with my two characters. One (Money) worksthe other (Kira) behaves very crazy. The structure of both characters is the same. With Kira I can't connect the arms with the torso. The head buzzes through the area and cannot be fixed just like the body not. The eyes are sometimes distorted. What is wrong here ?Dead pixels I have actually removed all. Puppets here:Dropbox - Character Animator Puppets - Simplify your life Hope for a quick answer.Best Regards. Beni.
There is always one thing or another to trip me up while rigging.I'm trying to teach my puppet to walk. I've been working from Okay Samurai's excellent new Walking tutorial. I've got all the Walk Properties set to default, but for some reason, the arms tend to distort upward as if my puppet's angrily walking with his elbows up — see pic. NOTE: the uppermost part of the arm in the first image is not the top part of the arm. It corresponds the the purple arrow in the second image. The arm is distorting rather than simply rising up too high.Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Happy to provide additional images.Martin
Hey,I have just tried to add the Headturn Behavior to my puppet, but it doesn't react as it should. The Wendigo figure (Adobe Stock Puppets) has 5 extra layers, Origin, Chest, fixed 2 and fixed 1 and mesh extender. What do they do and how do I rebuild them? As I said, the Headturn doesn't work clean for me. (The eyes don't stay inside the eyeballs) and sometimes the whole head deforms.here are the Projectfiles. https://we.tl/t-oe4G9boafd What to do ?I'd be grateful for a quick answer.Beni
I'm really not sure what's happening apart from it looks like an anti-clipping mask, I was wondering if you had any idea what in doing wrong or how to avoid a glitch? thank you so much!
Hello everyone, I search but found no answers...It's possible to invert the direction. For example the walking robot is walking from left to right, I would like to invert for a walk from right to left Hope I'm clear Thank you per advance !
I'm on Character Animator 1.5. I've put together puppets and added the walk behavior. In the walk, I set it to start on the arrow keys. When I hit the arrow keys, the walk begins but also, my selection in the puppet panel moves from item to item. Also, groups are expanded to show their contents. At times, the walk behavior doesn't work at all, but the puppet panel selection always scrolls down through every group and layer. If I understand correctly, Alt + arrow keys is the keyboard method to move down and expand the contents in the puppet panel. I am not holding the alt key. I do not have sticky keys on. My alt keys are not stuck.Any thoughts?
