Hi there! So I'm working on a project for work with a little animation of this character we are creating. I noticed when I was working that I got an error about Adobe not being able to sync a few files ( I was saving everything in the CC). Well, today, when I have to deliver the project the file gives me this error:libgit2 error -3(9/Object not found - no match for id (9e788113526effc2ce3ab010aaf282c48c942be9)) returned from git_revparse_single(&headP, repoP, specZ)Please tell me there's a way to recover the project! Thank you.
HelloI have a scene with 4 puppets in. One is a bird. I want it to fly in from the side and land on a puppets shoulder. All 4 characters speak, even the bird. How do I animate this? If I dynamic link to AE, it doesn't let me keyframe a single puppets position. Do I need to export multiple takes of the scene with different visibility for each character and then composite them in AE? Or could this be done in CA?Bets RegardsMikkel
Hello Everyone!Just finished a promo for the local CW affiliate here in Kansas City. This is the station's new "SpokesDog" "CWAG the Dog"! (SWAG)He will be the new spokesperson for KCWE here in Kansas City! It's been a fun and exciting experience and everyone is really excited about where we will take this. I concepted, illustrated and animated the entire piece. (I also play the director and "Gary the Lizard")Thank you CA team and thanks for watching! I can't wait to see the future of Character Animator!KCWE CWAG the Dog on Vimeo
I'm making a very simple animation and have good success creating the character and making triggers and getting to to perform. It's a vey few seconds of recording but when I try to record CH crashes. Not every time. I have gotten a little bit to save but then if I record a little more, Ch crashes. Or after I record then try to delete what I recorded it crashes. I'm afraid it may be the limits of my computer. I'm working on a Macbook Pro. An older one so I wonder if it doesn't have what it takes to use CH. I run every other Adobe app just fine including Premiere Pro, After Effects and Animate. So i wonder what's going on with CH? So if it's my computer please let me know. Here's the config:MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)10.12.6 (16G1510)3.1 GHz Intel Core i716 GB 1867 MHz DDR3Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 M13.3-inch (2560 x 1600)500 GB Flash StorageAny help is appreciated.Terry
I recently learned character animation cc and made a small sample. Forgive me for the audio is Chinese, because my English is really not very good. ! !
Layer naming is correct.Left and Right pupil movement is correct for the right eye.Puppet behaves well except for the forward eye position. As you see in the image below, the right eye moves upward but sometimes it also looks forward in the correct position. Earlier I accidentally had the right eye selected when I used the Pin Tool to add a fixed point. I have since deleted that point and added a new one with the Character selected. Any help to get that right eye to stop looking up is appreciated.
I was just browsing around Character Animator support for streaming, but had not seen any updates recently. Just wondering if there was any newer advice I had not seen (or just forgot! 😉For example, if I have no external monitor, nothing comes up in CH as a streaming destination (after I enable mercury transport). When I turn on an external monitor, the two screens appear. Selecting a monitor sends the video to that monitor (cool!). But when I start up OBS Studio, it does not appear as an output source in CH. Should it?Reading the docs at Adobe Character Animator Help | Stream a scene live it feels like a step is missing in the instructions. I have OBS Studio, but when I start it up it does not appear as an output source. There is mention of the NDI Plugin, but no mention if that is extra software I need to install or something built into various applications. E.g. do I need to install an NDI plugin to OBS Studio? Or is it a CH plugin? Also, is there better software than O
I want the thumbnail to be the image on the right after I move CA file to Media Encoder. But I keep getting the one on the right. I can't find anywhere where to set it-in Encoder or CA. Any ideas?
Okay, I have two problems with this puppet, both of which can be seen in this gif:First, the hands get rotated around the wrong direction when walking. The arrows are to show the problem... they should be pointing to the direction of travel. The second problem is the funky distortion of the feet. The puppet file is here: http://www.studiotachyon.com/downloads/Grey_puppet.zipHELP!
Hi I can't recall how to turn the mouth option back on after I turned it off so I may record only movements.Thank youWass
Hi there!I duplicated my puppet to set the left and right view (mostly because I didn't want to rig it three times) But now I needed to change the arm in Illustrator. Changes just appeared in the default view. Those two duplicated layers just showed no arm at all anymore. Is there a way to duplicate the arm and put it back into that layer? That would also help with heads, because it's enough work to set tiggers for one set of heads with 4 different expressions.
I usualy just drag my scenes into AE but I consistently crash AE 3-4 times on each project I do. Is this common, is there something I'm doing wrong?I've had the same problems on two PCs and a Macbook.
I would like to import a short .mov file of a flame to go over two characters fighting. Is this possible? If not, is there another way to do it in CA?https://drive.google.com/open?id=1uSgzQfwOmHEhGEWx1H1yqLv6dT76Jw4i Silly me. I thought I could just put it on top of the scene, like an MP3 file.-Sharon
Hello,I have installed the trial version of Character Animator CC 2018 on my Windows 10 PC and the program becomes unresponsive whenever I click on any part in the application. It will load the sample scenes and play automatically but when I click on any part of the screen it hangs then restores but then hangs again when I click anywhere.I only have Photoshop also installedPC Intel Core i7 6850K 24Gb ramWindows 10 Pro version 1803nVidia Geforce GTX 970
These are my visine options right now. I'd like to add 'suprised' and possibly others, is this possible? What are my other options?
Ok. This is a very long time coming. In fact, it's been about 7 months. But that's because the characters had to be developed and I had to learn the program. For those of you who don't know my story-I compose children's music and had been using a program called "Go Animate." (It's now vbond, or something like that"I found out that if I sold my videos I would have to pay them a $79 few per video per sale which was cost prohibitive since these will probably go for $5 or less. I decided to change programs and came to Adobe. I wrote the music and recorded it several years ago. This will be uploaded to Teachers Pay Teachers in the next week. It was done completely in Character Animator. I'm posting to help us all learn. Please do not give this away.Scene - Hands To Yourself.mp4 - Google DriveI did the animation entirely in CA. The background scenes were done in AI. I'm including a screen shot. I've got everything except the audio imported as a puppet. I also have the puppets duplicated or spl
I have a character rigged correctly but when I add the Walk behavior, nothing happens. I put the puppet in a new scene but it doesn't move. I've changed all the settings in the walk behavior but it's like it doesn't affect the puppet at all. Anyone else have this issue?
I would like to offer my learners the opportunity to add their answers to the question asked by the puppet. Is it possible to integrate a voice recorder and can the answer then be sent to the teacher? Alternatively, the answer could be recorded as speech to text and then sent to the teacher. Can anybody advise me on this?Thank youAlice
Hi All, Having some dramas with a seated character: Thomas.puppet - Google Drive I'd love to have the character move like this: With the head position effecting poses and the legs kept to the ground. For some reason I am unable to achieve this effect. The current rig has all the body parts swim around and the legs stretch and warp with the movements. Would really love some pointers on how to get the rig moving in the fashion I'm after! Thanks All!
Hi Guys,I have been trying to find out why i cant attach this arm so it moves with the body, if someone can help me id be most grateful, i have tried to dig around in the project for about 4 hours and i cant seem to find the answer! This is what it is doing......IMAGE 1I have been into the rig tab after looking at other discussions and tried to move the origin point as this seems to have been a common problem in other peoples projects but its still not connecting with the body....... IMAGE 2Even though it picks the origin point up and attaches it to the body (Shown in the green) when i go back to the project it still moves about as image 1 shows? I have noticed that when i move the origin point to attach it to the body as shown in Image 2 after i have tested it in the record tab and it hasn't worked, i have gone back into the rig tab and it displays the origin point like this.......IMAGE 3So i then have to move the origin point so it picks the body up again as shown in image 2? I have a character with a set of different arm poses in a swapset. In one of the poses she's holding an umbrella with collision enabaled on it, so a rain particle behavior can bounce off of it. But is looks like the umbrella collision is present even when that layer is turned off by the swap set. Is this the normal way Character Animator works? Is there some way to turn off collision with a trigger or make a control that turns the collision on or off (either on the umbrella or the particles)?Using v1.5 (Build 138) on MacOS 10.13.6
Windows 10 1803 and Ch 1.5 here.I happily worked with Ch for 2 weeks. Great program. But starting today, Ch won't start at all, I get an error "Unable to create font". I uninstalled, re-installed, same thing. %appdata%\Roaming\Adobe\Character Animator\1.5\logs\Character Animator Log.txt is tiny:Log file created: 09/09/2018 23:33:21---------------------------------------Ticks = 0 <6432> <App> <1> Exception thrown at launch: Unable to create font. Please help
Wonderfull program. I'm especially glad this supports Twitch. I just started a Twitch channel and I was really hoping a live puppet was doable....and bam....there it was. I have a slight tweak question. Due to my camera setup and my own eyes, when I look down, the puppet blinks (and freezes that blink). Is there a way to tell CA not to register a downward gaze?
Anyone got any Adobe Max (conference Oct 15th) predictions, like a new Character Animator release? Anyone got any desires of things they absolutely want to see fixed? (Yes, there is the “request a feature” area, but that is too factual and boring. This is just shooting the breeze.)FIX THE HAND TWISTING PROBLEM - I understand its fixed, just not released yetFIX THE ELBOW BENDING PROBLEM - spend too much time getting arms to be natural (it records one way, plays back with arm elbow joint the other direction)SPEED UP EDITING - a lot of time editing is waiting for the program to refresh or catch up, slowing down workCamera panning support would be very niceAllow ”skip N frames” so recording a scene does not start with the hair bouncing up and down at start of scenes (as gravity kicks in on hair dangles)An option to support linear blends would be nice, with displaying the numeric values at the keypoints (so its easier to emulate true keyframes)Walk behaviors (and physicals) seems painful fo
