Is it possible to create seperate dangle points strenghs? For example. I have a character with dangle points on his hair, and on his tie. I want the gravity effect, etc, to be different on the hair from the tie, is this possible, and if so, how?Thank youScott
The email address was unusual, just wondering if this is legit.
My original PSD file has moved. Can I relink it in Character Animator project? If I import same file, it creates a new puppet. My home and office file structure is different which is what caused this issue. If not, is best practice to keep PSD file in CA project folder to enable "portability"?Thanks
Hi everyone,Looooove this program! Just a quick tips to other newbies from me, how to speed up the design process if you fiddle around alot with small changes to your character constantly.. (as I do)..1. Its easiest to create the character in Illustrator. (My personal opinion..) -But Illustrator doesnt have groups.. - And if you havent tried it allready importing an Ill artwork into PS is no great success...2. So when you have constructed your character in illustrator, take each layer and copy it into your creative suit Library. That means each element of your character becomes an artwork in your library. If you are smart you will name them appropriately as you copy them over to the library. Fex. right eyeball, left pupil etc. (Because the thumbs in Library are small and not always so easy to see what is what if you didnt name them)3. In photoshop, new document (make sure the canvas is big enough for any changes you might want to add to your character later and big e
Or possibly I did something wrong... When I record position, anchorpoint or scale data the values in the transform menu do not change. They always show up the original values. E.g. I put my puppet to x 100, y -50 (without recording) than I record a 1 second move to x 200, y 10, the puppet moves correctly but the values still are x 100, y -50...
While working on a character... I got an extra large bounding box showing up! I knew someone had mentioned this before and said it could be a problem with some stray pixels being left in a layer, so I went looking and couldn't find anything. I went back to a simple psd... 1 group and 1 layer in that group, in an attempt to try and find out what was going on.Now when I selected the Group and moved it in the Puppet Panel, the related Group Handle moved with it.If I selected the Layer within the Group and moved it, the Group Handle didn't move. When I then clicked back on the Group.. the bounding box covered the around the area I had moved the object. I tried moving the handle back to the central position in the object, but this had no affect on the bounding box.Right clicking the Layer inside the Group and then, Reset Layer... does return the layer back to its pre-moved position and bounding box returns to its correct size. So, the expanded bounding box seems to be related to m
You have to have a Group and a Layer in that Group, for Tags to work, but do I Tag the Group, or the Layer?I've tried both. I've Tagged the Pupil Group as Left Pupil and Left Pupil Range... this worked.I've Tagged the Layer called Pupil, in the Pupil Group and this worked too!?You can also Tag the both the same!?Why do I have to have, Left Pupil Range selected too. Without this the pupil doesn't move? What does, Left Pupil Size do?
hi i have so problem with movement in adobe charachter animator recording system is very good for head but for other body key framing system is so good this is better idea if the body of animation return to key frame system or integrate with recording system and for head was just recording system ,thanks for reading
I've removed all draggable handles/tags, but when I click on the character on the scene it's still dragging at a random point on the character. It doesn't effect the warp independent components, but seems to be pulling the characters' other components as a whole.
It appears that there are only three things that can be triggered with the Mouth Tag...via the camera.. Neutral, Smile and Surprise, is this right?
This is my first time here so sorry if I've put this question in the wrong place or anything thing else that I've done and shouldn't have. But I am trying to import hand drawn mouths into character animator for my hand drawn character. I saw this YouTube tutorial by Okay Samurai's Shmarflop (click ahead to 20 minutes in!) Character Animator Live - Episode 2: Walking Seth & Shmarflop - YouTube. He creates the mouths and somehow creates separate mouth layers for the different mouth sounds.Anyone know how this is done?
I've had a problem with jittering eyes and have been constantly trying to solve the problem. I didn't want to rely on using manual dragging after I've made an initial recording.Every time I start Ch, I set up the camera. I have the ability to zoom in and adjust brightness and sharpness etc.I like to get a close up of the Camera Panel.. ( select Camera Panel and click +/- Key) while doing my initial setup. As I was doing this I noticed that the Blue Tracking Dots that follow the pupil, were dancing all over the place, then as I adjusted the image, zooming in, the brightness and sharpness... the Blue Tracking Dots, quite dramatically, settled down! When I had finish and ( select Camera Panel and click +/- Key) put the panel back to it's normal position... the pupils remained nice and stable, so I wanted to know, does the Face Tracking adapt? The image quality is really poor and I have no understanding why this should be, in PhotoBooth it looks fine!? Any ideas?I think a good image, c
You can quickly change the Names of Layers and Groups in Ch... ( just press Enter.. type in the Name and press Enter again ) This however, doesn't change the Name in original Ps file, but the Ch Team have added a helpful prompt to show you the difference between the Ch Name and Ps Name. If you look to the right of the Name you have changed, you will see another word, that is just about visible... this is the Ps Name. This is great as it acts as a reminder if your changing anything. You can quickly revert back to the original Ps Name, by Right Clicking on the Name and selecting, Reset Layer. This seems to be a very useful prompt when you're changing things between Ch and Ps, so I wish they would make it stand out a bit more... Highlight it, change the colour, make it bold, italic etc.. you get my idea!?I would like to hear what other users think and anything they find that they think could help others too?
There is this problem when you change the layout of your character in Ps, you loose connects in Ch and this is being looked into.I started looking at what happens when changing the layout in Ps and Ch coped with any additional items be that layer, or groups, that were added, removed, renamed, or just moved into another position. So I then looked at changing the structure in Ch... and there seems to be an intermittent problem!?When I started moving objects in a group... an error message popped up and I lost the Scene. I had to close Ch down and then import the file again. I tried to reproduce this error and sometimes it happened and other times it didn't, so I'm not sure what the problem is... but maybe it's a good Idea if we, 'don't change the character layout in Ch.. until it's been looked into.Has anyone else had this problem? What is the Team's advice on changing the structure in Ch?Here is a video showing what happened...
Hi,We are a french studio in Paris, and we are developping a tvshow wich uses your Character Animator technology. We have a few requests/ questions ?- Is it possible to have a trigger key for sound effects while the animation is playing ?- And we are testing the lipsync in french and english and the recognition seems better in english than french ?!Is it possible to have a full version in french ?thank you
If you check out the video below you'll notice that his pupils are continually jittering.I've turned off all the Behaviours, other than those that have an affect on the eyes, but other than stopping the movement altogether, by turning Camera Strength to 0, I can't stop the jittering!?Can anyone offer advice please?
I always have my Scene Panel floating and independent of the main program window. In this way I can see all the adjustments I make without having to switch from Puppet and Scene, plus I can position it under my camera and in my line of sight, making it much easier to see and adjust. If you add the Properties Panel to the side, it makes it easy to make adjustments while maintaining good eye contact with your character too.Just idea, but worth a try... so give it a go and let me know what you think?
Hi, all. Is it me or is it a bug? Pupils didn´t follow the mouse-input in left-right-profiles.Any tipps or solutions? thx in advance.
I am also having the same problem in CA Beta.I have a M-Track Audio interface - when I unplug it - CA loads - when it is plugged in CA will not load - Crashes - blue spinny circle.
Am I correct in understanding that Character Animator can now link directly to files in Animate, as well as Photoshop and Illustrator?
I find these difficult to see and select.... would it be possible to improve the quality... and size please?
Is Beta 6 running?
As I'm getting more into Character Animator... the more I'm becoming aware of ShortCut Keys... those little key combination that can help!So I thought I would start this post with the single purpose of collecting and sharing any shortcuts that may be useful! If you know of a ShortCut then please add it to the list...If you select a Panel.. the blue line around the panel shows it is selected... and you press the Plus & Minus key.... the panel will open up full size.Give it a go and you'll see what I mean.PS. I'm using a Mac UK configured keyboard, so you may find it is a different key. If it is please add your finding here.
Hi,I have started using the dynamic link function between CA and AE, and I am looking for a way to rename the different scenes. I have characters that are being reused in different scenes, and I want to be able to name them after which scene they are used in, not just charactername+scene#.
