Recently manual lip syncing in CA has been extremely slow ever since a recent update. Everytime I split a viseme or change the mouth layer for it (ex. Ah -> W-Oo) the scene will change to a grey box with the words "Preparing Scene..." in the middle and the application is frozen for a couple seconds. It's makes manual lip syncing very very slow and tedious and I was wondering if there's any settings I should change or anyway to make CA faster. This hasn't happened with any of my past projects, it has only occurred recently. The only thing that I can think of that's different is that I've made 1 scene that's close to 5 minutes in length and in the past I usually did multiple scenes (5-6) that were each about a minute in length each, and then edit them all together in Premiere. So I'd like to know if having one big scene instead of multiple smaller ones is the problem. Thanks.
The legs are sticked to the ground while there is no fixed points or independent issues. I also tried playing with Initial foot Pinning option. It didn't work.
New to animator. I have watched almost all the tutorials and I can not get this character to stop floating. I have fixed pinned his feet but I also have puppet points at his toes. He is facing straight on so I have no heel puppet points. I also have a draggable point at the top of his body but get no response from that. Any help appreciated.
Ok, I have been playing around with the hack where one can make a character seem like it's walking and the background scrolls. I have used the walk behavior in the background and negated the body speed to simulate that.I have tried this as well with foreground elements and also other puppets (NPCs). I am trying to make this work for dynamic objects but it seems to tamper with the dynamic properties of the objects. Lets say a soccer ball now is set up with this feature, It doesnt bounce around like it should but instead starts slowing down. Is there a turnaround for this. Would be cool to know if someone has figured this out
My puppets are designed in Photoshop and synced to Character Animator. I'm going back now to make minor changes to the artwork and start creating behaviors and my artwork won't update whenever I save the photoshop file. I have tried re-syncing artwork and making sure the auto sync box is checked but it just won't update. Any tips?
I tried to drop a puppet into the program and this error message popped up:"Internal Internal error Code: (814092516:243 + 29) attempt to index a nil value" What does this mean?! Thanks!
Hi there, I have made sure that each leg is independent, i do not have any fixed points; I've enabled body and limb IK behaviors but for the life of me cannot figure out why the legs do not move. I've attached videos and pictures of the rigging set up i have along with the mesh. Bonus question if you have time: why do my shoulders go all wonky/scrunch up when i move my hands? I tried changing attach style from Weld to Hinge but it made it even worse. Thanks a ton in advance
I created my own character and rigged it in character animator. Everything was doing great. Then I recorded for just a few seconds. But when I tried playing it back, it's just stuck on "0" in the timeline. But when I moved it somewhere in the middle of the recording, it played smoothly. I thought it was just normal. But when I exported it, and played the exported file, it didn't catch the whole recording. What should I do?
My heads are missing. I'm trying to do a head turn. I have it set up per Dave's 'Head Turn" video. When I go to the Scene my heads are missing. It is a Photoshop file character. Only the Frontal view has independent eyes, eyebrows and mouths. I just want the head to move from the Left Profile view to the Frontal view. Any ideas what I'm overlooking?
I have a Magewell USB Capture HDMI device that works with other software and as a webcam but Adobe Character Animator gives me the "Selected camera is unavailable". How can I get this device to work?Windows 10, Adobe Charater Animator V3.3.1
Since character animator is pretty new it's hard to find people dabbling in it. With everything going on my employees haven't found the time to fully learn it yet. But we would still like to use it as part of our videos. Is there any recommendations of people already creating pre-made puppets or using character animator on a regular basis? The only one I found is GraphicMama. Any recommendations are welcome, other than posting to a generic job site.
I recently updated to the new version of Chacracter Animator and the media encoder, and now I am unable to get scenes in CA to render. They will appear to go through the render stages, but when the file completes, it's unusable. It shows as being a 1mb file, and there's nothing in it. I've tried exporting as .mov and .mp4 and I keep running into the same instance. Any ideas? I'm running Windows (latest), and I have more than enough resources. I've never run into a problem with this before and am curious if it's update related or something else.
Hello.I'm currently working on an animated short film for my YouTube channel, but I need assistance in the animation department (more specifically, animating with puppets that I have created). I typically do all the animating on my own (using Character Animator and After Effects), but this next project is rather big and I'm going to need some help. What's the best resource for hiring people who are knowledgable in Character Animator? Thanks!
I want to follow the 2019 tutorial and replace the blank puppet with the one i created in illustrator, I can not find the blank file anywhere
Hey, friends.I've been wondering for a while if it was possible to use the Leap Motion Controller to trigger keyboard triggered hand gestures. So I found a cheap one on ebay and whipped up this little experiment:This uses a third-party app called gamewave that allows for highly customized mapping of gestures to actions. For this test, all i did was set it to detect when each hand was moving upward and simulate a keyboard press, whcih then triggered a simple forward/reverse layer cycle. With more experimentation, I think a lot more is possible.
Why my puppet does not want to stand on the ground?Where is the issue? I have already spent all day and can not figure out.https://youtu.be/36oZSSCkamQ
I am looking for someone to help with taking my terrible photoshop chacter I made and turn it into a high quality puppet for animator. I am willing to pay for any help for this. Thank you!
So you make an avatar prepare a script, follow tutorials. Film the footage you want, then the app asks you to use a completely seperate app to turn it into an MP4. Whatever install Media encoder but then all I get are error messages saying it failed to connect to Media encoder. And nothing I've seen online is helping, can someone help me? and can adobe just give Character animator a finish and render button, would solve many issues. Please help I've got not idea what I'm doing I'm stuck.
Hello! How do I design a character to talk in a full profile view and be able to see the background behind him? Front and 3/4 view mouths typically are filled because of the inside of the mouth. I'd like to have a character talk in full profile view without out his mouth filled or the fill of the head seen. (See attached images. I'm shooting for the bottom image.) based on my limited skill with CA, I'm guessing it's not possible without creating a head for each phoneme (mouth shape). Does anyone know if this possible? Any suggestions?
I am trying to animate various characters, and have noticed that the arms will slightly twitch and move, even though I am being still. I have played around with the sensitivity, Limb IK...and it still records with the slight movements. It's not smooth. IS this a problem for others? Is it a problem with my computer? Although I have more than the basic requirements to run Character Animator. Could my background be too busy while recording?
Check out this video I made for a client with Character Animator. I am working on a tutorial.
Hi, I just finished archiving a project in AE that had dynamic links from Character Animator. When I dragged my CH project, CH media, and CH data into the archive folder it wiped everything from the CH project. I have no puppets or scenes at all.Has anyone else had this issue?
Hello. This is is my first puppet in my life. His name is Synek. I createt him using Blank puppet from Adobe.com and following Okay Samurai' tutorials that are great and without those tutorials I could start my project at all. I have spend 3 weeks to create this guy and he does not work. Before the head was turning, both eyes working fine. Today nothing. It does not want to stich to the ground. Runs all over the screen.Only lip sync works and the right eye. Please help me to fix this guy because I have to create 3 more puppets for my animation series:)I got YouTube hidden link video to see the problem.Thanks.https://youtu.be/8SXhx0PC6X8
Hello Everyone. I am attempting to animate my first character and I captured a performance that I like, but my puppet moves from one pose to the next very slowly. Is there a way to speed up my puppets hand from rest position to a point position for example? I thought I could just manipulate the duration for each draggable move on the timeline like I do in After Effects. No luck so far.
