Computer: Windows 10 on HP laptopI am a library technician but I cannot download any ebooks in ADE because I get "Error!Check Activation" message. I used to be able to download book ONLY on my original Toshiba computer, but now I get same message on that computer too. I have done following steps many times over a few weeks:1. I have followed steps to "Deauthorize computer" on this site. could NOT deauthorize old Toshiba computer or new HP computer because my password is not correct (I have tried every password I can think of but the original password would be years old)2.Under Computer Authorization, get message "Computer is already authorized"2.Changed my password several times but can't deauthorize on either computer with new password.3. I recently updated to windows 10 and installed ADE v4.5. , previously used Vista Home  and ADE V3, but the new version has not restored the book library I had on Adobe Digital Editions. How do I transfer the library to my new version of Adobe Digital Editions.

Please help. I downloaded an .ascm file from Wiley and they refuse to send it to me in any other format. I have tried opening it in Digital Editions but keep getting an error message saying that it is unable to download because of the " E_DEPT_DOCUMENT_TYPE_UNKNOWN.Any advice other than reinstalling it would be great.

ADE 4.5.5 took 16 .ascm from Google Books and fulfilled 12 to .epub. The 4 not fulfilled all reflected the same error message listed in my title. I've used ADE for years to do this without problem. I don't understand, looking through all of the stated problems like this, why Adobe doesn't have a solution; or at least an explanation.

Hi,Getting the above error on a Windows 10 Laptop when trying to download a file.  Have tried uninstall/reinstall, de-authorise/re-authorise... Same error, which causes ADE to crash.  Any ideas please?

I have tried to authorize my PC with the Adobe ID in order to reed some bought e books - but this has failed, so far.I get a message saying: "You can only authorize with an Adobe ID that hasn´t been previously used to authorize any other computer or mobile devises. Please try again".Well! I have several devices that I have used my e-mail address for.......and I am allowed to reed e books on up to 6 different devices......so.....what to do???

Hello everyone. I'm planning to buy my first ereader and I was leaning towards Kobo Aura H2O edition 2. However, I've seen that it has not been insertes in the list of devices compatible with ADE. Does anyone own this ereader and can confirm to me whether ADE works with it or not? Thank you!

Hi, I've recently purchased an Adobe Digital Editions book.  I have downloaded it ok on my Windows PC; however, after installing Digital Editions on my IPAD and authorizing, all my purchased files download apart from one where I get the following message:Unable to download.  Error getting License.  License Server Communication Problem: W_ADEPT_CORE_WRONG_DEVICEI have de-authorised my IPAD and reinstalled Digital Editions.  Again all my files download ok, apart from one... typically the one I really need.The file opens fine on my Windows PC.  Hope someone can help 😉

I'm seeing ADE hang on "downloading content" aka "fulfilling content".   The bar fills up, then I get the Windows 10 spinning circle, and the app hangs for hours.  The book shows up in File Explorer, but cannot be opened without hanging again.  This occurs with NYPL books about 90% of the time, 10% of the time the book comes down cleanly.I can kill the app when Windows says "This app is not responding" but this doesn't really help: I can't read the books I've checked out.Anyone else seen this?  Any suggestions?Michael

Hello,I have the following problem and hopefully one of u can help me with that:I downlaoded Ebooks I bouth from the Google Playstore. I try to open them in Digital Editions 4.5 to transfer them to my tolino, but the above stated error appeared. I can open the files on my phone though.What I tried:- I re-authorized my Computer, that did not work- I re downloaded the files, did not work- I reinstalled DE, that did not work- I tried using DE 3.0, that did not work- I downlaod one of the books as PDF file and transferd that to DE and then to my Tolino, that worked.So it does not seem a problem with the authorization of my Computer. However, I want the EPUB files and some of the bought books are not available as PDF, so it still does not work. Is there anything I can do?Thanks for your help in advanceDaniel

I'm able to download the Installer from the adobe website for ADE 3.0. However, when I try to install it, a message pops up saying that the certificate has expired and asks if I'd like to continue anyway. So I do. After it's finished installing, a successful installed message shows up. But I'm unable to find ADE 3.0 anywhere on my hard drive. Only the Installer is on my computer, not the program.How can I get ADE 3.0?I'm having problems getting borrowed library ebooks onto my e-reader, and it's been suggested that I use ADE 3.0 and not ADE 4.5.Thanks

I have a book downloaded to adobe digital 3 from Bridges internet library. I see it on my nookcolor when I plug it into the computer.  When I try to open it on my nookcolor I get an error stating "user not activated".  When I go back to adobe digital to authorize my device using the adobe id, I get the error "the vendor account you enter is not associated with the item you are trying to open. try again".  Any ideas?

Hi there,I am not able to load ebooks from ADE to my Kobo Touch anymore (it has worked before). I can open the file with ADE and also load it to my Kobo but I can't read it on Kobo afterwards. It says: "The document is protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM) and not authorized for use with your Adobe ID. Log in with the authorized Adobe ID and try again." (I hope the translation is correct, I only get it in my native language). I have two Adobe IDs and have tried it with both - it is the same with both of them. Kobo says it is authorized for both IDs. I also tried deleting the authorization both in ADE and on my Kobo and start all over but that hasn't worked either.Can anybody help me?ThanksAnne

I can't download a book in the iPad ADE app - getting "Connection Error Detected" message every time I try:Digital Editions could not connect to the fulfillment server. Please make sure you are connected to the internet.I was able to authrorize the app with my Adobe ID, and I was able to download that book on my PC, so the fulfillment server is clearly working fine. And looking at the reviews of ADE in App Store, looks like lots of people have the same problem as me.

I have ADE 3.01 and Windows 10. I got a new Kobo Aura, connected it to the computer, started ADE but it's not recognizing the reader. I was going to erase the authorization but there is no erase authorization option on the Help menu. I'm not sure what to do next.

I have an account to Bridges library and my daughter has one.  She is trying to download a book to adobe digital.  When she does she gets the error "error getting license, license server communication problem: E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED-BY-ANOTHER-USER".  We have even tried downloading adobe digital to a different computer and log into her library account and she gets the error.

Due to spam overload I have had to change my email used to login to adobe. I now can't access my books as the authorisation fails with my new email address. I can't use my new computer as it requires authorisation although my mac is fine as it still has the old authorisation with the old email address. Any ideas would be appreciated!
