Digital Editions

I'm trying to move my Digital Editions (DE) Collections to a new computer.  DE on the old computer is authorized to what is apparently an old ID that is just my name and initial, not an email address.  The latest version of DE, which I've installed on the new computer, won't accept that ID, but requires and email ID.Advice appreciated.

Doing pretty much any action will work for a few seconds then freeze and not respond, and I'll have to shut down the program. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, I've used 4.5.2 as well as digital editions 3 with the same problem, so I think its a windows problem. I've also tried enabling the app through the firewall settings.After closing the app there appears to be a copy of the borrowed book in the library, but I am unable to copy it to my ereader (kobo) without it not responding and freezing.

Seit gestern kann ich Adobe Digital Editions nicht mehr nutzen. Beim Öffnen des Programms werden keine Bibliotheken angezeigt. Ich habe versucht, das Programm komplett zu deinstallieren (iObit Uninstaller, per Registry Scan zwei verbleibende Registry-Einträge gelöscht) und den Ordner My Digital Editions gelöscht. Bei der Neuinstallation ist mir aufgefallen, dass trotzdem meine Adobe ID noch erhalten war. Es sind also noch Reste auf dem Rechner verblieben, die ich nicht finden kann.Nach der Neuinstallation konnte ich ein Buch aus der Onleihe der Stadtbücherei herunterladen, das Programm stürzte sofort ab und mir wird nichts angezeigt. Jetzt bin ich mit meinem Latein am Ende.Wer kann mir helfen - ich benötige Adobe Digital Editions zwangsweise, um meine ausgeliehenen Bücher zu verwalten.Dankeuwe

I am not able to associate acsm files to Adobe digital editions.When I try to map the default program acsm to adobe digital editions, I only see Adobe reader. Even after browsing and selecting digital editions.exe from program files(x86) ,adobe digital edition it does not show up as an option.

I am trying to download a book that I purchased. I click on the .acsm file and it asks to reinstall Adobe Digital Editions each time.Windows 10 laptop. I click on an .acsm file, which the file properties show is already associated with ADE 4.5.4 and it says: "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? I click yes, it sends me back through the set up process."Doesn't download the ePub book. I click on the .acsm file again. It runs me through the entire process all over again... no success.Can anyone shed any light on this problem?

So I installed Digital Editions on my PC to read my textbook for class.However, the book won't auto download to the apps I have installed on my Android tablet and phone. And that's after I clicked on "Refresh" in the apps. And yes, I reauthorized both devices TWICE.I tried opening the saved file I got for the textbook on my tablet directly through DE, but then app crashes when starting to load the book. Very disappointing.

Hello:I am receiving an error message "Filename too long" when I try to open a book I just obtained from a university library.  Other e-books in the same folder with names of the same length or longer open just fine.  Does anyone have any idea as to what the source of this error might be, and how I can overcome it?thanksJim Power

I have  only 4 devices (PC, 2 tablet,  handy).  Delete all authorisations was be done through the support by chat. Now after I have authorized a lot of apps (it works after delete by support), I get the message, to much authorisations, again. Could it be, that authorize a app (p.e. onleihe,  pocket book reader, Adobe digital edition and other more, all of one device) considered as one device (1 App = 1 device)?Thanks for answering

The Freading site says it should easily work but I get a permission error.  I can see and read the book in Editions but I want to read it on my Nook.

After downloading my ebook to ADE, I Did not opt for the vendor ID option. Having realised my mistake, I erased authorisation, created a vendor ID and attempted to login, unfortunately that didn't work. I reset password and tried again with no luck. Please assist as I cannot access my ebooked any more.

I purchased an e-pub from Lexis Nexis and downloaded it to my laptop.I downloaded Adobe Digital Editions and created an account.When I attempted to open the e-pub I received an error message. I am running Windows 7 and have Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.2.151207 installed. It is authorized to [personal info deleted as per forum rules] When I download and open file HeartoftheFiveLoveLanguages9781575673844.acsm an error of Error! Check Activation occurs.

When I try to transfer e-books from ADE to my KOBO GLOW, I receive a error message that the document is protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management and is not currently authorized for use with my Adobe ID. When I try to erase authorization under old e-mail address that is showing up, it wont let me because I do not have the correct password.and cannot receive e-mail for new one under old address. I have since accessed both Kobo account and adobe.com and changed my ID to new e-mail address but authorization on ADE is still showing up under old e-mail account ID. What do I have to do to change ADE authorization to new one? 

I have downloaded Digital editions in order to borrow e books from the library.and download them to my Kobo. When I am in Digital Editions.I am trying to authorize my computer under my new adobe ID.My e mail changed from a vianet address to an eastlink address.In order to erase authorization under the old e mail address, I need the old vianet password, which I have forgottenThe vianet address no longer exists.How can I authorize my computer under my eastlink e mail address….

I've downloaded a book from my local library. I can see it in Adobe Digital Editions and I was able to drag it to my Kobo but when I try to read it, I get the message that this document is protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management and it no currently authorized for use with my Adobe ID. I am able to read it on my computer. From all the help I've found it says to go to ADE and select Authorize Computer but that option is greyed out. What do I do now?

Hello:I have been using Adobe Digital Edition ( currently Version 4.5) for a number of years to download ebooks from my local library without any problems.  However, I was not able to open any ebooks I downloaded from the library lately, with an error message - Check Activation.Could anyone help me out with this issue?  I have tried contacting Adobe Support and was referred here.  Thanks.Roy

After downloading epub book from library when trying to transfer from adobe digital keep getting message "Not Responding"

I try to download an epub preview from the draft2digital site, but instead of going to Adobe Digital Editions 4.5, my Adobe Acrobat Reader tries to open it but that program cant read an epub file. How come Acrobat Reader tries to open the epub instead of Digital Editions? Please someone help!

Has anyone developed a way to sync ADE notes and highlights between MacBook, iPad & iPhone?

OK, I am sure I did something to mess things up, so I am starting with a confession of guilt. Now on to the problem.I downloaded an EPUB book, downloaded the Windows version of Adobe Digital Editions 4.5, logged into my Adobe account, and was able to access my book.Then I wanted to transfer the book from my personal laptop to my work laptop, and set up an OverDrive account. Evidently big mistake.Now, whether Digital Editions is authorized to my Adobe account or my OverDrive account, when I click on the book, it says that Authorization Needed, and it only allows me to input my Adobe account (not my OverDrive account info), followed by an error message "The vendor account you entered is not associated with the item you are trying to open. Try again."So it would seem that the EPUB is tied to my OverDrive account, but Digital Editions will not allow me to enter my OverDrive account information when it is asking for authorization.Your advice and input is appreciated. It is only a $10 EPUB,

I need to de-authorise my ADE account as it is linked to a stale e-mail address.  My current Adobe password is not recognised.I tried to follow the Nanaky solution which appears to be very successful but______the Registry Editor in Windows Vista appears not to have an 'Export' file in the HKEY-CURRENT-USER\Software|Adobe|Adapt . So I could not complete the process.Is there an alternative process  using Vista?
