Digital Editions

Several days ago I bought 2 ebooks from bol.com. Downloading works but when I want to open it in Adobe Digital Editions, I receive a message "there are errors detected in this item". According to bol.com it's my problem because the books open perfectly on their computers. How can I open the books and transfer them to my ereader? 

My ADE application accplication is connected to the Adobe account I had years ago. I do not remember the password. I cannot deauthorize my computer and reauthorize it, which I need to do, as I ported my data over from my old MacBook Pro (running Catalina) to a new one (running Ventura). Without this, I cannot access acsm files on my Kobo.   All I need  is a clean version of ADE, so that I can uave it using my real read Adobe account email, but I can't seem to get there.    A similar post title has the reply "Never mind I sorted it out" which is not very helpful.     [Typos fixed by moderator]  

I am recieving the error message "E_ADEPT_USER_UNKNOWN" every time i try to authorize my ereader (NOOK color) in digital editions.  It is telling me to go to http://adeactive.adobe.com/adept/Active.  I did not find this to be of any help because the error message is not listed there.  It is also providing this "um:uuid4088dd0-5778-490b-df804a9c5989", I am not sure what this is.  At the top of the box it also says it is an "Activation server error".

Does anyone know if Kobo N647 eReader is still supported by ADE? I am able to add ebooks borrowed from the library to my book shelf and read them on my windows 10 laptop. I can copy them to my Kobo device as well, but if I try to read them there they are locked. I've tried the troubleshooting steps of removing the book, and the authorization for both the eReader and my computer, even re-installed ADE, but the DRM doesn't seem to work to allow me to read borrowed titles on the Kobo N647. Maybe it's just too old an eReader (2010 model).  I've also done all of the above steps after factory-resetting the Kobo N647.

I want to read an ebook offline and this is where I am having problems. Its not my ebook but a library loan ebook, using cloud library. I was advised to try and add the ebook file to ADE via under ADE file - add to library - but all I can see is other files i.e. chrome and not the acsm file. I've searched everywhere for the acsm file but it won't show up. I went this route because if try to read offline - it asks for an app and ADE is not listed/won't show. Its a PC with windows 10. Any thoughts as to how I can fix this? or where I am going wrong? Thanks!

Hi togetherI bought a book for school and received an .acsm file. I imported this via Adobe Digital Editions as before and licensed it to my Adobe account.When opening the .pdf file under: C:\Users\Name\Documents\My Digital Editions it gives me this error message:An error occurred while opening this document. The security add-on required for this command is not available. What can i do?

Hi! We are an education organization that uses eBooks for in person courses through Adobe Digital Editions. We have 20 work stations and are running into limitations not being able to authorize more than 6 devices in our classroom with ADE. Is there an educational account option that allows for more authorizations suited for a classroom environment? 

I recently bought a book and it is now activated without an ID but I want to to transfer it to my ID Adobe Account, is there any way to do so? ( I have the proof that I bought the book )

How do I get help resolving this issue.  I cannot get support to answer me back.  I cannot even get a case number.  please help.  I have submitted web request several times and chat support tells me that this can only be resolved with a web request.  I will soon have to buy another device that does not use Adobe as the licensing entity.  This is ridiculous that I cannot even use my device because of some stupid glitch with Digital Editions not authorizing the device and it being ultimately an Adobe problem.  I can't believe there is no way to reset this without intervention from Adobe and obviously their support is horrific.  At least Adobe reader works...big whoop.adobe id - texrg25@sbcglobal.net

When I downloaded Digital Editions, Norton Product Installer was forced onto my computer and now I can't remove it.  Please Help

Jus wondering if anyone can help me.  I am trying to transfer  a book I borrowed from the library to my kobo.  Everytime I drag and click it I get the following message. Adobe digital editions has stopped working windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.  I used to use the Kobo on my desktop with no problems borrowing from the library but now I  have a laptop I get this message every time.  It will let me put books that I have purchased on my kobo but no library books.   Also does it matter that I have a new kobo same model(just that my kobo was relpaced due to a problem I had) any help appriciated.thanks

ADE 4.5 downloads ok, but after scrolling for awhile it just gets hung.Anyoone esle have this issue? Any fixes?

I downloaded a .acsm profile from archive.org. But its content was displayed completely different on pc and iOS. It works perfect on pc like a normal e-book, while it feels like being erased on iOS (plz find the attachment, you'll understand better about my description.) Can anyone tell me what to do to solve this problem? Thx! 

I believe I know what the cause of my problem was, but I cannot find a solution. Multiple attempts to chat with support on the dedicated ADE page were no help. I recently changed my Kobo email address, which changed my Rakuten ID. I believe this is the cause of my problem: ever since I changed this, ADE on my Kobo Libra 2 refuses to read library books that I download from Overdrive (but I can read them just fine on ADE on my computer for some reason, and ADE works normally on Overdrive books that transfer over wifi).When I upload the books to my Kobo and try to read them, I get this error message:Oops! This document couldn't be openedThis document is protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM) and is not currently authorized for use with your Adobe ID.  Cuando descargo libros prestados en bibliotecas públicas, dice que descarga correctamente, pero se queda colgado y no me permite descargar a e-book. Si fuerzo la salida y vuelvo a entrar los libros descargados no aparecen en la biblioteca. 

Cuando descargo un libro prestado en la biblioteca aparece en ella, pero cuando intento descargarlo no hace nada. Se queda colgado y tengo que forzar el cierre. Cuando vuelvo abrir Digital Editions ya no aparecen, pero en la biblioteca si aparecen como descargados.

Hi all! I am experiencing some issues with Adobe Digital Editions. The app on my mobile devices doesn't sync with the library on my computer. If I download the resource (the ebook) directly through my mobile device the app doesn't open it. How can this be fixed? I have tried with multiple mobile devices and uninstalled and installed the app on my iPad. Thank you for your help!

Non riesco a leggere le pagine di un libro scaricato su ADE perché sono letteralmente cancellate (allego foto) anche le pagine del manuale Adobe con le istruzioni.  Qualcuno ha avuto lo stesso problema? Ho provato sia su tablet che iPhone 

I purchased a book, followed instructions to download ADE.  Title was downloaded but cannot be seen in ADE (although when you hover over the system tray icon it says the book is loaded but has a black screen popup).  As a last resort, when you double click on the downloaded book in the download folder it tries to open it in Adobe Reader and an error message appears: " Any guidance on how this can be resolved is appreciated.  Note that ADE 4.5.11 has been downloaded, installed, unistalled and reinstalled multiple times.  I am operating Windows 10 Version 22H2.

Hi everybody,I have a problem when I try to transfer a book on the device (reader) in ADE (downloading the book in ADE, everything is ok). The message I receive is: CE_FAILED_TO_WRITE_DEST_FILE.What was attempted: reinstalling ADE checking the connection wire and the USB socket checking device authorization (when I click on KOBO eReader on the left, the program ADE closes)Can you help me?

hello, Until yesterday, I was using ADE quietly to transfer books borrowed from the MLOL platform. the error signal "your ereader is not authorized to open this book" appeared last night during a transfer. I have tried everything. I canceled the permissions and gave them back, I reinitialized the kobo, I reinstalled ade but the problem is always the same. I tried to download other books but with all of them it gives me the same error. I tried to change pc but the error persists. I have no more ideas. what do you recommend me to do?
