Hi all I create complex scenes in dimension and have noticed severe lag and performance issues in dimension 3.1 vs older versions. Scenes are now no longer workable due to lag. I have a 2019 macbook pro designed with more than enough RAM, CPU and graphics capabilities and have great performance on 2.0+ Dimension. I also cannot open my newer files in older versions of dimension. Is there a fix for this or is anyone else experiencing performance degradation?
I am loving Dimensions so far for its ease of use and clean renders. But one thing I have not successfully been able to place a decal on my obj files. I get a "something went wrong, sticker will be removed error". Is there a best practices for exporting .objs from 3d programs? In this case it is Modo v11.1, on a Macbook pro, running OSX 10.12.6.
I have been having issues with Both Adobe Dimensions and Adobe Photoshop. Any time I attempt to make a 3D bottle I still have the original pre extruded shape displayed inside and I can't get rid of it. It effects the lighting on my bottle and any label I attempt to place on top. I have designed my full bottle and even simplified it and attempted to build it in sections but the same end result. Hope someone can help!
How do i report a bug? Every time I render a file I'm met with this message An application error has occurred. To help us diagnose the issue please follow instructions below. Then it gives me two instructions. But I can't find the feedback panel to report the dimension bug log that the program gathered for me...
I have some pretty basic renders with no additional environmental lights. Basically a can with a label applied. The label has white areas and when I render the image, the white area is way blown out no matter what I try to do. I have tried moving/removing the lighting, reducing the light intensity, changing image (label) settings, and nothing works. White areas and highlights continue to be blown out (overexposed). So what are some solutions? Thanks!
Im trying to wrap the white stripe around the coffee cup but im having trouble doing this, its also not wraping around evenly and its kind of tilting down.
Hi, I think I might be experiencing a bug. When I open my old file that rendered correctly last week, the shadows are perfect but if I click on almost anything, the render preview changes in the canvas and my shadows disappear. I've even rendered a few times with different shadow opacities and they all come out the same so I know there is something going on. Please help! How the render should look: the new render even though I've changed nothing.
pls help me i have lots of work to do its again and again creating dots when it move courser it just refresh it again to create dots around interface icons also in viewport
Hello, I am to create a 3D uranium atomic model for a school project. My question is how to create the tracks of the electrons. Thanks for all your answers. It would be awesome if I could import 3D models from Dimension into After Effects. I'm surprise Adobe hasn't offered this yet because it seems like a no brainer. In the meantime, is there a workaround or do I need to use Blender or someother 3D program?
I've attached a couple images for refrence but I am having trouble trying to reproduce these abstract sharp light refractions coming off a glass bottle.
Still new to Dimension so sorry in advance for the nooby framing of the question. I want to create a 3D sphere, then cut it in half. I then want to take a 2D vector (logo) and apply it to the flat section of one of the halves. Here's the important part: I want the 2D vector to alter the shape of the flat side (via extrusion / inclusion), NOT simply display the 2D vector as an image on the sphere. In fact, I don't want the 2D shape to display as an image at all. The phrasing of this is difficult and Google just populates the wrong feedback, hence why I'm asking you good folk. Looking for any and all help!
We are happy to announce the release of Dimension 3.1. This update includes performance updates and bug fixes to some of the top customer reported issues. To update Dimension to 3.1, click "Update" in the Creative Cloud desktop app next to Dimension. More detailed instructions for updating

Hi,I'm using this Adobe Dimension for last 2 days and I'm enjoying it and I found it useful for me in some aspects, but I got some problems with how to add new materials in Adobe Dimension Library ? I have some substance material with .SBSAR format and some other material with .MTL format and I want all those materials to be added in Dimension's Material Library. Please help me with this. Thanks,Rit
Cosa posso fare? Grazie [edits ussnorway] Hi sorry if I write in Italian. Unfortunately I have some problems opening some heavy files. The screen freezes and nothing opens. I have to force the program to close. The other lighter files don't give me problems. What can I do? Thanks
Thank you in advance for any helpful notes. 🙂I'm attempting to create a custom glass bottle OBJ using Illustrator and Photoshop to then import into Dimension. I've created a simple outline of my bottle using the pen tool in illustrator, but when I create a 3d layer in photoshop the smooth curves render very poorly. As you can see below, horizontal lines are appearing across all curved surfaces. The same occurs if I export an OBJ and import to Dimension. The same striation is happening on what should be a simple smooth curve. Am I missing a step anywhere? What is causing this?
Hi all! Im having trouble with the models I've created and placing graphics on them as you can see in the screenshots attached they seem to work fine except they duplicate on the inside which isnt a huge issue but it looks strange.
Hi, I just bought a spaceship model from a website, download it, and then imported the .fbx file into dimension, but it just appears as an outline on the design screen. I've got all the textures but how do I have the model appear correctly in dimension with it's textures applied?
Under Environment Properties I have no Sunlight options. My Dimension software is up-to-date 3.0
Hi! I working in Dimension with export to Aero, works ok, but I see inside Aero you can put 3d models with animation (like dinosaur), I try export 3d model from Autodesk Maya to Dimension, using FBX to keep animation, but doesn't works, How I can create model and keep animation to export to Aero?
Okay, so I have been trying to days to render this scene in various ways with various changes and boxes checked and unchecked and nothing is working. Here is a shot of my computer and the version of Dimension, along with the error that keeps popping up.I've tried rendering it locally, I've tried using the cloud. Neither works. If I try locally, the apple blue waiting ball just spins and spins endlessly for hours even, until I tell it to simply cancel the render. It never seems to progress or do anything. When I try to cloud render, it uploads the file just fine. Then it says processing or whatever and I wait. Then after a while, I just get back that error message that it was unable to cloud render.I'll attach a screenshot of the scene I'm trying to render. It's a board game layout. Do I have too many graphics? They are all formatted for web, so all the little tiles are only like 400kb images. The board and box are like 7 and 10
this question keeps coming up so I'm putting my steps down for others to try step 1; open Photoshop and use the bottle preset template... this makes a correct bottle everytime and is the single best option for most senarios templates are great but sometimes you need a special shape and this is how i make mine the key points are that it has a hole at the top (because i want this bottle to allow things inside it) and it touches at the bottom (because I don't want things to leak out)... yes 3d objects don't need to follow real world rules but they look better if you do transform = bottom right extrusion = zero hoz angle = 360 step 2 now that we have a base bottle i set the opacity extrusion = 33% all others set to zero important: always export the model as wavefront Obj with Png textures [not Jpeg] Dimension work flow step 3 import the model, pick the background, materials [frosted glass and a top from another model in this example] then do a quick rendor step 4 add the extra beer
Hi,I'm working with Illustrator and Photoshop and I want to put my work on next level. I'm a footwear designer and I'm looking for a way to make shoe design in 3D. I already had a look at Dimension CC but I don't suppose it is the right program for making shoe design, does it? I appreciate any suggestion how to start and what program would you work with. Thank you so much for you help.RegardsSilvia
the left model has no background image and the right is the exact same with a black jpeg used as background... the light on the bottom is the ground plan which is understandable but the yellow back light on top of the hinge door should not be there system = https://valid.x86.fr/bwbkzl
