Dreamweaver

I'm just new to Dreamweaver. It would help to have a list of what each syntax color identifies. For example, it looks all the html tags are blue. What does the green, orange, white, purple and gray identify? thank you.

Hi, im new to dreamweaver and have tried looking everywhere for the answer but can't seem to find anything, I have inserted a submit button but how ecatly do i get this to send me an email when the form has been sumbitted? Thank you in advance for any help! 

Does "Apply Source Formatting To Selection" option work for anyone? I have never been anble to get theis to work, "Apply Source Formatting" works fine.   I'm "selecting" the code I want to format and then clicking "Apply Source Formatting To Selection" but nothing happens, am I doing something wrong?   Thanks   David

I have the following HTML sourcecode:   <img src="example.jpg" width="400" height="600" alt="" />    The image is rendered correctly in the design view.Now I apply CSS to it:   img { width: 30em; height: auto; }     Result:The value "30em" is rendered correctly, the value "auto" is ignored.The rendered height of the picture is 600px.How can I solve the task please?In a browser the CSS works. Thank you.

Thanks in advance for any assistance! I am new to DW and am encountering an issue uploading a .htm file created from an Excel sheet to my office's web page.  The functional old method: information was saved as a Word doc, re-saved as a .htm file that overwrote the previous day's .htm file, and then drag and dropped into WinSCP over the .htm file that feeds our web page. Word documents continue to transfer to .htm, to the remote server, and onto the web page as anticipated, regardless of what the Word doc contains. The non-funtional new method: the entry of the same data now requires an Excel spreadsheet. I can resave the Excel sheet as the same .htm file, and prior to uploading, I can get the Excel web page to open on its own in Explorer as desired. When I drag and drop the same .htm file over to the WinSCP server (?), it indicates that the file has indeed been replaced. However, unlike the Word doc that then spits the text to our web page, the replaced Excel file o

Dear DW Technical Support:(1) I've been having recent problems with my long-ago purchased and installed DW CS6 app and would like to know if I were to reisntall it using my copy of "Dreamweaver_12_LS16" would it preserve all my links, codes and presets or simply erase them?  (2) Also DW CS6 app has recently been generating error messages relating to Adobe's discontinued Flash support (see attachment). Are there any files that I shoud delete now that Flash is inopertive? BTW because I am running DW CS6, my computer I have  to run on macOS Mojave version 10.14.6 as the current DW version is too costly for my budget.  So thank you for your help in keep my website alive (with DW CS6) -online at same URL since 1997. Cheers,BironPhotos by BIRON 

Hello Community, i just startet to learn html with css and my dreamweaver is very slow.I use local files and very simple pages.But Dreamweaver is so laggy, it takes 1-2 sec. to type different codes.All other programs runs normal. when an image is selected in design view Dreamweaver graphics tools do not appear in the property panel. How do I enable them?

I am building a website using html, css and bootstrap for my podcast, my problem is that I want to put a player of the podcast in the hero image part of the website so people can come and listen to my podcast at the moment of entering into the website. I want the player to use the RSS Feed of my podcast to always update the player with the latest episode, I hace been trying to look for a solution for that but I have found anything. I made an account here on stack overflow to reach some expert on this field to help me with this problem. I will attach some pictures of the design to illustrate my problem much better:     I just need it to play the podcast and get updated every time I upload a new episode. I have a several mpg videos made in the early 2005's, showing a house built by a contractor. I am running Dreamweaver 21.1 on a MacBook Pro. As soon as I open anything in Dreamweaver the CPU goes to 100% or more and the fan runs like crazy. Is there any solution to this problem? I have searched online and found people reporting this in older versions, but have found nothing about this version.

I copy text with hyperlinks to Dreamweaver. I need all hyperlinks with target _blank. How can I set target_blank to the default target in Dreamweaver. I use the newest version of Dreamweaver.

Ever since I upgraded from my 2012 Mac Pro to the current 2019 Mac Pro running Catalina last July, the pick-whip animation line no longer appears? Dragging from the @ symbol to the file I want to link works, but I have to make sure the cursor is right over the target as the squiggly line no longer appears?    I am running Catalina 10.15.7 currently. The Pick-Whip animation works on my 2015 MacBook Pro with the same version of Catalina, just not the Mac Pro... any ideas?   [Topic title edited by moderator for clarity.]

Since you all helped me so much I'm back.Every time I open DW I notice it has reformatted my text. I know my style is not what Adobe wants, but it is what I am comfortable with. You all helped me update from DW 2015, which did not mess with my formatting like 2021 does. Is there a way to make it stop?Again, thank you for helping me update from 2015. I watched the tutorials about extracting PSD into DW but I dont understand where the html file you need to open the extract pannel and copy the files to comes from. if i design a website in PS i like to extract it into dreamweaver and have a html file to put every thing in. the missing link for me....please help.thamks  

Hi all. I'm a veteran 20 years user of cs4 as I'm predominantly a coder. I decided to try cc version and subscribed today but I'm finding it way too steep a relearning curve. I've looked all over and just can't see a way to replicate the design time style sheets. Everything I write is modular so I need a rough idea of layout, rather than simply linking or importing a style sheet. Am I missing something or has it been removed completely? Is there any way to see and edit the css elements like in previous versions? thanks in advance 

Anyone else having issues open Dreamweaver on a Mac running Bir Sur ? Can't open just creative cloud updated this morning

I'm using a laptop (Dell Vostro 5041) with a usb-c docking station. I have two external monitors connected to the docking station.I've created a "working space" (mylayout.png) using both external monitors: one for code and one for tools.Opening DreamWeaver all the tools windows, that should be in the second external monitor, are usually in the main monitor of the laptop in a mess (brokenone.png). Even using the restore function in the layout manager, I cannot get my layout back. I tried to save it, to recreate the layout and to change its name and nothing works.On the old laptop with the same docking station it worked fine. What can I do?

Our company web store is on the CimCloud platform which supports the old version of bootstrap 2.3.2.  My question is can I set up Dreamweaver to support this old version of bootstrap? I need to do some coding for basic page development.

Hi, I am trying to clear the cache on my 2019 version of Dreamweaver. I was forwarded the following link, but have not been unable to find the correct file. I am running a Mac with OS 10.12.6 and here is the path: Library>Application Support>Dreamweaver CC 2019> en_US>Configuration>Cef>Cache https://www.dmxzone.com/go/16740/clearing-dreamweaver-s-cache/ What file(s) do I need ti toss in order to clear the cache, or should I toss the entire folder?  Any help would be appreciated. Mark
