Dreamweaver

Can anyone give me some pointers on creating a horizonal line/rectangle with a colored background.  I want it right under the navbar so I inserted a fluid container and tried so many different ways after searching and searching that I am going bonkers. I didn't want to ask because I am pretty sure it is simple.  Thank you.

The first screen capture shows my default CSS view in Dreamweaver. It is all compressed together and I cannot work with it. The second view is another CSS file also loaded in Dreamweaver, but it is expanded and I can work with it. Question do these two CSS files view differently in Dreamweaver? How do I change the first view to expand so I can work with it? Final question: I need to add shorter additional CSS group shown . . . To the existing primary CSS file (compressed one). Do I just tack it onto the bottom and save the file? Obvious beginners questions. Thanks

Good evening,1) I have a lot of different responsive video that I need to select and perform im my web page.It could be the right solution to have a drop down menu from which to choose them and start they in the same player.This is to try not to have a web page with an exorbitant number of players.At my level the script is like this:<div class="embed-responsive embed-responsive-16by9"><iframe class="embed-responsive-item" src="MyVideo.mp4"></iframe></div>Is there a vay to do what i need?2) the player has a download option. Hi, all.  I'm being asked to redo a series of JPGs I created for our website and convert them to SVGs.  The reason given is that the pages will load faster, which they obviously would.  There's no more than four of these 800x400px JPGs on one page.  The JPGs are about 125K each and the SVG version I did as a test is about 75K.   My question is, will the load times of these pages improve to a degree that would justify the 8-10 hours it'll take to convert these JPGs to SVGs?  I ask because it's going to take me quite a while to redraw all of these graphics in Illustrator and I want to be confident there's a payoff for this investment of time.  If we're looking at an improvement of less than a second on a 56K modem (our lowest common denominator as a government agency), it would seem not worth it.  Really, I'd want to be reasonably confident that we'll shave at least 3-5 seconds before committing to the work.  I think I coul

So here is the skinny. I love Adobe products. Since the NEW Illustrator and Photoshop for iPad solutions, I have been able to reply on my iPad Pro so much more for a lightweight all in one travel option! So since I am also a programmer I would love to see Dreamweaver as an app on my iPad then I don't have to rely on anything else but Adobe products for my entire business using exclusively my iPad only for traveling!!!

In the middle of working on my project DreamWeaver quit unexpectedly. When I reopened it my project was not there. how do I restore it??

Why is it while using Dreamweaver 2017 that when editing pages sometimes between 2-30 in dreamweaver the code view will randomly be a blank grey block with no code inside even though there is code and design view shows there's stuff? I've tried reinstalling it completely to trying it on a brand new mac book ( literally days old ) and this issue STILL happens. The Os is Sierra 10.12.3 if that helps.

Hi, I have problems with Dreamweaver CC and Photoshop CC. After 30-40 minutes working, my mouse wonders all over in and out of Dreamweaver and Phoshop working spaces. If I go to a Word document or Outlook, the cursor takes time to show and thre's up to half a minute lag. I have read previous reports on the site and tried everything including reinstalling my mouse. The only thing taht seems to work for now is to restart the computer. This situation sudently began about two months ago. I have worked with these programs since the CS5 Web Premium I used to have before moving to the Creative Cloud versions. This is no progress at all. I loved the older versions with hard install...

I'm getting this error code {"code":"MethodNotAllowedError","message":"POST is not allowed"}when I preview my javascript code on web preview. Hi,Just tried to open DW.  It fails to load with an error. "Dreamweaver encountered problems while constructing the menus from the current menus.xml file.please delete the current menus.xml file and rename menus.bak to menus.xml" I notice other have had this issue.  My environment is on a MacOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6.  iMac 27Inch Mid 2011. On dreamweaver cc I have been unable to update the software as the update is no longer compatible with my setup "Not Compatible".   I am on a mid 2011 iMac.  There is no way I can get a new iMac yet or upgrade the iMac yet, and it is an absolute that I need DW.  So I'm really really stuck right now. To better manage HardDrive Storage, some years ago now, I moved my access to the Adobe documents, from th HD to an iCloud drive.  All Adobe applications have worked perfectly until today DW doesnt open.   Is there anyway that I can get Dreamweaver back up and running on my current

Is it ok to uninstall a previous version of DW? I have multiple DW versions now. I am afraid it's overloading my Mac.

Usually I try to be constructive in my posts, but I have to vent.  I'm using Dreamweaver 21.0- there are so very many bugs in it that it slows down development.  I'd be tempted to jump ship, but right now I'm in the middle of a project and doing that would also be disruptive. I do appreciate the many good features it has, but things like completely random auto-collapses that indiscriminantly span HTML and CSS and Javascript code- maybe 600-1000 lines, at a mid-element, random point, is maddening.  Frequently they won't expand at all.  There are times that Dreamweaver becomes so sluggish, so buggy, that I have to close and relaunch it. My projects are not gigantic, but are what I would call medium-sized.  There are other bugs- auto-complete gets really sluggish after a few thousand lines, and markedly quickly to the point that it is not usable.  Autocomplete of DIV names in Javascript are buggy- if you've typed a few letters and then autocomplete,

When I try to apply source formatting, nothing gets formatted.  Is there any way for me to debug this - to figure you what in my code is causing it to fail?

Does Adobe provide an online search capability for certified Dreamweaver professionals?   I am seeking someone for a short term consulting project.  If question not allowed, please delete it. 

My idea is coming from making myself easier to choose from different types of format options for each page quicker like below. Editable   Option1 - list format   Option2 - table format   Option3 - image thumnailf ormat   ....EndEditable I can of course leave one or two options and remove the rest manually, which I'm doing now. But much faster if I can just toggle true/false for those template options. Toshi

Hi, I am getting an error when I try to test an asp page (vb) with a recordest in it. The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '(unknown)'. When I double-click the recordset in dreamweaver and click test it works fine though. I haven't got the db open elsewhere and don't think it's read-only, so I can't work it out. Help! Thanks, Mark.

Nancy helped me four years ago to set up XAMPP Apache PHP developer on DW. I use it for ±30 sites without a problem. I hope that she or someone else can enlighten me as to how to correct this glitch. On a new site and a new directory, to which I applied XAMPP, I seem to have an incorrect pathway to this new site's pages. When I right-click a file in this new site (using Mac Catalina), the "Open in Browser" option opens and I select Safari. However, the page does not open. Instead, Safari shows this error message. . .I suspect that the referenced pathway error indicates that I loaded the site's files in an inappropriate Applications folder location. I say that because, instead of seeing the hyperlink start with the usual "localhost/..." this new site's hyperlinks start with "file:///" (see arrow above). This problematic site's files are in a different directory (titled "searchers") than the root directory "WCD" whose files all open locally without a snag. This next screenshot

I have a website that uses HTML5 and PHP.  I use DW 21. When I submit the pages to W3C validation, any page with a <?PHP> tag on it generates a validation error.For example, this line <?php if (!isset($_SESSION)) { session_start(); } ?> generates this validation error:Error       C:\xampp\htdocs\Partnership\index.php Saw <? . Probable cause: Attempt to use an XML processing instruction in HTML. (XML processing instructions are not supported in HTML.)      2 I'm sure this is because the php commands have not been stripped out before it gets to the validator.  Is there a way to avoid these errors?

I just upgraded to 21.0 and wondering if anyone else is having an issue highlighting text in design mode. I have my screen set up as split view with design view on the left and split view on the right. When I try to highlight text on the design side, it highlights the text in the code side instead of the design sign. That's very confusing and hard to make sure I'm highlighting what I need to.

My live view is has grey borders and is ineditable after Big Sur. I noted an earlier thread that suggested resetting the preferences would fix it but it hasn't.It happened when I installed the Big Sur beta (yes I know ...) and I assumed it would come right with the full release, but no. Is there easy solution or should I reinstall. Thanks
