Dreamweaver

Hard drive failure required that I reinstall Dreamweaver to a new drive from the original, licensed with serial numbered disk.Running OS X High Sierra 10.13.4 on an iMac. Have been unable to open Dreamweaver since the reinstall. Always receive the error message shown.Subsequently have attempted multiple attempts to fix including booting in Safe mode, running Disk Warrior, Disk Utility, creating and attempting to open in new account, and finally reinstalling the OS. Also reinstalled legacy Java Runtime in response to an error message.No luck.Still get the same error message.Anyone have any suggestions?

Just started DW CC ver 18.1 after using the older, non subscription versions and am finding I have a learning curve to overcome.When trying to edit text in the Live mode - e.g., changing the word from paper to stock in the screen shot example -  I am unable to simple change the spelling without highlighting the word and moving to the Code mode.  Instead, I receive a block with only two formatting options.  Is there a setting that would allow me to revert to the non-CC DW versions allowed?Thanks.Frustrated CC newbie

I'm am working on my first website for a client and have a nivo slider slideshow on the home page.The problem is the slideshow works but every now and then a random image in the slideshow will jump down showing the image behind it and when the transition continues after 4 seconds the image will jump back up to the proper position and the slideshow will continue it's cycle and on every restart the same problem continues with one of the images.I just need to know how to keep my images from jumping.Here is a screenshot of what it looks like.

Hi,I saw that this is asked a lot but I couldn’t find the right answer to this. I want to work with Dreamweaver CC for the live preview.BUT it’s so damn small on one screen, so my wish is to split the preview window from my code window and put it on my second screen.Is this somehow possible? For example: Code on one screen, live preview on the other one.I really need this. If there is already a working solution, please link me to the thread. My employer recently upgraded from Dreamweaver CS6 to Dreamweaver CC, and one of the first things I noticed was that pressing Ctrl+F opens an ineffective Find bar at the bottom of the screen, rather than the more robust old Find window, which has been reassigned to Ctrl+Shift+F.So I went into the keyboard shortcuts menu and set Ctrl+F to open the old Find window, removing the bottom bar's shortcut entirely. It didn't work. Even though the Find tab at the top of the screen shows my new shortcut in its dropdown list, pressing Ctrl+F still opens the bottom bar. I have to press it a second time to open the intended window.Even after deleting all of the default keyboard shortcut sets and restarting the program, my change hasn't taken effect. Any ideas?

I'd like to convert this page : Touch The Universe Productions - Audio Label and Sound Design - Vsti Sounnd Banks  into a responsive one.Once this single html page is converted into a responsive page with identical layout, I will duplicate the page and transfer the rest of the site content using the new responsive site as a template, so as to minimize the amount of work involved for the coder. If there is an automatic way to convert entire site quickly, I'd like to know.

I am trying to recreate my webpage design via Adobe products however I have no coding knowledge.  What products should I use as I have been given several stories by Adobe tech support.  They have told me all to use Spark, Muse, Dreamweaver, and so on.....  So can someone simply set me straight here.  Then how would I actually get my site live, online after the design is complete?

How do I turn on the feature that is auto-indenting my code?If I start a line with <div class="my-class"> and hit enter, it automatically indents my code.If:<body></body>Exists and I hit enter after <body> I get:<body>      </body>Not cool!!!DW does not know how to properly indent code - I would rather do it myself!So how do I turn that off?

I purchased a disc version of cs5 and want to upgrade to program for mobile devices.  Can it be done?Also, I can't download any cs5 updates (11.0.4).Thank you for your help.

Hello,It is very annoying that I can't view my code as everybody else, I had DW reinstalled.. checked the font.. reactivate.. everything! and yet it's not working.I have the latest DW version. I am on a Mac. Currently it's showing "Monaco" instead..Please how can I fix that? Thank you

years ago i was able to drag drop and resize and just do any thing i want now with cs6 dream these options are gone is the a way to get back to that option

It's great that DW finally includes bootstrap 4, but what happened if one day (maybe my oncloud account is canceled) I have to edit again the same site I designed within Dreamweaver and bootstrap? If I don't have DW at that moment, could I edit the site using any text editor like Brackets? Or there will be any Dreamweaver metadata which will not allow me to edit my site OUT of the Dreamweaver context? Thanks a lot.

Hi All.  I used to design website back in the Macromedia days and stopped  several years ago.  I am learning now about responsive design and all that entails.  Lots! LOL. Anyway, I am now learning the basics of Photoshop and then onto using it to create website mockups to use in Dreamweaver/Bootstrap. I used Photoshop 7 years ago with InDesign to create my Dad's pictorial book on Brazil so I have a some familiarity with it. I am using Lynda.com and Pluralsight for online video courses that I find helpful.  In a beginner course about using Bootstrap in Dreamweaver the guy is using PS to import his website mockup.  So, do you think I am on the right learning track by stopping and switching for a while to Photoshop? I'm having a problem with my DW CS6 online. All the links are correct when uploaded. But then once a link is clicked online, the next page's URL shows up inside the previous folder. You can see this in the browser URL window if you go to www.mhaaa.org. For example:If I click on "Chuck Bauer" from the left hand menu, it takes me correctly to that page -- /artists/bauer.html -- inside the website. But then if I then click on "Nancy Bruins" from that same left hand menu -- it takes me to an incorrect page, /artists/artists/bruins.html.  Notice that the folder "artists" is now showing up twice, even though that is not the original link placed into that page.I honestly don't have a clue how to fix t his.  I'm thinking it must be some kind of online virus.  Has anyone ever seen this before, and can you tell me how to fix it?Desparate,Tamlyn

The Contact form on my web site at http://www.tellerbooks.com/contact.htm worked fine for years, but now there appears to be an issue when it is used. Users are directed to a "File not found (404 error)" page at http://www.tellerbooks.com/webformmailer.php whenever they make a submission through the Contact page. Any ideas what the issue might be?

I am trying to place a logo in the header of my website (centred).I resized the image in Dreamweaver, however the bounding box is still keeping to the original size of my imported logo image.This is causing a problem because my logo also acts as a link back to my home page and is interfering with my other elements on the page.Also because of the bounding box being way too large, the link can be clicked on to the various side of the logo rather than just on the logo.Does anyone know how I can resize the bounding box to be just around the logo itself?Thanks!

Hello, all,I have hit a brick wall, and could use some advice.I am working on a customized blog that allows users to comment on threads.  HTML is not allowed, and is stripped out before the content is inserted into the database (Oracle 11g, TEXT datatype).  But if a user hits the enter key within the textarea, that line break is retained in Oracle.  However, displaying the input after pulling it from the database loses line breaks.What is the best way to keep the formatting as the user entered it (including bullet points) for display in an HTML page?  I tried the <pre> tags around the output, but that strips font CSS from the display, and puts a horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of the containing div.I tried putting <p> tags in place of line breaks, but then when the comment is edited, the HTML shows in the form textarea.  (That's not good, either.)What are some options?V/r,^ _ ^

I added an image and linked it on one of my pages but it is not showing up in IE unless its 9 or above. It shows up fine in chrome. What would this be happening? I have the same image and link on another page and it is showing up fine.

I'm using DW CS6 and looking for a way to convert all straight quote marks to curly smart ones. Or a preference to force them. I'm not pasting in text from anywhere else.All the posts I've found on the subject seem to be going the other way: turning smart quotes into straight ones! Thanks

I'm sure this has been answered but I can't figure it out. I have an XML file in which I have no control on how the XML is generated.   It has a different tag for each product section but they all start with Product_  Example  <Product_ALSSFAAFR1.0_1>  or  <Product_CSCPTC1.0_2> etc.  I need them to all say the same thing so I need to change them all to Product_Group but I can't figure out the syntax to select the whole tag and replace it with the new tag. Thank you for all and any help.
