Let  me explain.My responsive page will have a column to the left which will have artists name.Each artist will have a separate page which will just have their paintings and inscriptions on it.I do not want to have to load the main page every time, I don't want to use a frameset as I think this is outdated now.Hence when I click on an artist in the left column, I would like the link to contain the link to that artists page (with responsive code to split into two columns) and load it into the right responsive pane.Obviously there will be no row classes in the artists page so any content will simply overlap to the next line if the browser being used is not wide enough.How could I achieve a l ink to load a html page into the div.Many thanks in advanceTerry

My webmaster has set up my FTP access in Dreamweaver's site settings: "Remote Server" is my testing environment, and the "Testing Server" is the live server. Understandably, I feel this is error-prone and somewhat confusing. He won't change it and I don't want to touch his settings.Is there a away to rename the default server names in Dreamweaver itself to something more meaningful?

Not sure my title is correct, but here's what I want to do.I have to build a site from scratch for a college class, I can't use DW.  (Will probably use Notepad++)  It's going to be a huge site eventually, and I will move to using Dreamweaver the minute the class is over.My question is, what is the best way to do this so I can move to using a main template once I jump into DW?  It will be about 15 pages when I turn it in for the class, so I know redoing that many isn't insurmountable, but I would love to just start with a way to easily do this if it's possible.I use DW CC if it matters.Thanks for any advice!

I have just started exploring grids but whenever I use fr in the grid-template-columns I get an error message of "unexpected token".The grid seems to work so wondered what this is all about?Ian

A number of my earlier, existing websites are linked to/supported by identical graphic images and css files. I do this by placing those resources in directories located one level above the site home folders. This makes for easier maintenance.Now I would like to create a new website using DW 18.1. I'm having a degree of difficulty doing this within the conventional DW workflow. 18.1 is still new to me, and I am trying to get accustomed to it. At this point I believe that some hand-written files will need to be created/edited in order to realize this goal.If anyone has ideas on how I might go about this within DW 18.1, I would appreciate hearing from you.

I'm trying to come up to speed with 18.1 Lots of new functionality (perhaps because I may have been a few versions behind). Tutorials appear to be very helpful for the most part. However, in the tutorial on defining a site I have thus far found no mention of a css, whereas in the file list I found a blank css; could not find an explanation (that I could hear) of (a) how it is created, or (b) how to edit the css, once created.My situation is: a number of existing websites are linked to the same style sheet located one folder level above their respective home folders. Hello there, I started coding a webpage a while back and I have just got back to it. Before, my images displayed as they should in the dreamweaver design view. And now they are only displaying on live preview. The is also CSS font missing and my slider is showing at the wrong size in my design view. This is the icon that is displaying where an image should be. Any suggestions to fix this?

Just bought a new Mac High Siera 10.13 - and downloaded Adobe Dreamweaver CC 18.1 - after opening files for website, it can't make contact with server? No links, nada - everything from old computer was restored on desktop. What am I doing wrong?

When I check-out a file it is downloaded and overwrites the local file.When I check-in a file it is uploaded to the server and overwrites server file.Is there anyway to stop this?A better behavior would be for Dreamweaver to compare first and ask.

Hey folks..How do I get DW 2018 to look like my CS3?I cant find anything, because the entire work space have been altered. Hi everyone,I was wondering if there was any way to make Dreamweaver recognize the .htaccess URL rewriting rules. The “problem” I run into is that when I write relative links inside my document (e.g. <a href="/about/">About</a>) Dreamweaver won't associate it to the file (about.html), and therefore it won't update the link (if I rename the file) and it won't be able to open the appended files. Am I missing some configuration in Dreamweaver? Or shoud I just go with it as I always did in other editors such as Atom or Sublime Text?

I am trying to figure out how to do quite a simple website using DMXZone AppConnect. I've been going round and round in circles for, literally, days! Hi,I'm new at dreamweaver and now about starting to develop my app . But I have some difficulties of creating connection between dreamweaver and sql server. My dreamweaver is macromedia dreamweaver 8 and my sql server is ms.sql server 2005. and one of the problem is a messages tells "HTTP error code 404 File not found. There some possible reasons of the problem:....." the error show after I try to safe the connection string. There's no errors when I create the connection string..but it show when I try to save it.Please Help..thanks

I'm working on adding new, textured, background colors to my site. On my home page at Suzette Boulais: Home Page, I can't find where the original web designer added the color to these two solid colored cells that I'm trying to change to a textured color. Every time I try to click on the cells to change the background color, it changes the entire background of the entire page. Thanks for any thoughts you might have about how to add a new textured color using CSS to these two cells I'm showing outlined in yellow (as working in HTML somehow escapes me).

Hi, All.Have a new client who currently is hosting its website on a shared server with GoDaddy but wants to move it to a dedicated server at Bluehost or maybe SiteGround, neither of which I have ever used. I recall past discussions giving an OK for Bluehost but am a little leary of what I've read about SiteGround. Does anyone have any thoughts on the real world pros/cons of either service? Below is the screen shot of the error I get when I try to connect to the FTP server. When I first installed dreamweaver I was able to connect and transfer all the files I needed to my computer. After that I have never successfully connected again. There is also a webpage on this server that I can no longer access. However, I can access it outside of my network at a neighbors house. I have worked for about 2 weeks with support from the router company and we made a fair amount of changes and still nothing. I am doing volunteer work and trying to maintain a website. Any suggestions are welcomed I am frustrated.

I apologise if this question has been asked before but I have been hunting for days and have not found any template which suites dreamweaver or my needs.I have been asked to create a website / news blog for our art group and I can not achieve the design I want easily.I have tried to 'poach' ideas from the net but obviously the vital bits are not available.I need a site which will have a predominantly newspaper front page but then expand to show different peoples artwork on their own page.I've tried with my own design but they don't like that.So I would be greatly appreciative if anyone could direct me to any free - or cheap dreamweaver friendly responsive templates which would possibly be suitable for my / our needs.Thank you in advanceTerry

I've searched and tested over and over but nothing really works. I'm trying to center five columns inside a div. Basically, I've got a row of icons with names under each icon that I need to center. If it were 2, 3, 4, or 6 columns I wouldn't be having this issue. But with 5 it shifts all the way to the left and I can't seem to get them to center.This is a generic html to try and display what I'm talking about.
