Dreamweaver

I'm saving my html and XML files, to upload with Filezilla. I can see that they were saved locally, but Filezilla isn't seeing any of these files. What am I doing wrong, here?

In the old dreamweaver before I updated to 2017 version, when I completed my layout, I hit F12 and it showed in my browser where I could crosscheck myself before I go live on my page on a web page.  With this new version, there isn't away to do with short cut except I have to go to File > real time preview and it gives me a numeric URL, when I click on the links to check all of them, it says page not found.  What did I do wrong?  My links are good.  Can someone help?  What wrong with the F12 short cut and I can doublecheck....[Moved from non-technical Forum Lounge to specific Program forum... Im helping my boss build his website and i was on our iMac at work when i started and want to work at my house now but i can no longer use the Real Time Preview thing which i liked using. Can anyone help me?

Hi anyone reading this,I'm a very new person to code so please go easy on me I making this site for university using a bootstrap template, I opened it in mobile and the page implodes.I realise now that i haven't been using the code of bootstrap at all and i've been fighting it with my own bad code and i'm in rather a mess.As you can see most of my page is made of of side by side boxes, currently these boxes squish into each other as i resize my page (and the text overflows).What I want is side by side boxes (column of 6 width each) and a height to them that means they will always behave like a ridged square so text isn't impaired. As soon as both boxes can be contained I would like the boxes to go underneath each other. How do i do this. I'm gonna be up all night working so please help however you can and try to dumb it down for me cuz ive been doing this for like two weeks.I understand that the code is bad in many other places but I can fix the most of that.This is the site btw, I kno

The name of the page I'm working on is index.php (it's the index page for the speech and debate category). Homeschool Speech and Debate I am in Standard mode. I use Dreamweaver CC 2017 in split view code-design.  When I open a file, the design section is immediately active, but the code section is frozen and takes a long time before it is responsive.  I can make changes in the design section, but they do not appear in the code.  I cannot make changes directly to the code until the file has been open for about a minute.  Any suggestions?

I'm having a bugger of a time trying to find something to make this work.  I found instructions at Page Plugin - Social Plugins - Documentation - Facebook for Developers .  Unfortunately I can't seem to get it to work.  You guys know of any Dreamweaver Extension that might work to make this happen?  I found one Extension at Facebook Integration for Dreamweaver but it would be a stab in the dark.  Anyway, curious to find out how you might make this happen.  Thanks.  Bob Green

I made an error! I had updated Dreamweaver CC 2015 to Dreamweaver CC 2017. As a student, it does not match my text book. How can I revert this update?

I understand that by subscribing to Dream Weaver, I automatically I subscribed to 20Gb "Cloud" space. Assuming that is correct, (20Gb is not much).My Web site consists of two parts.Part one: The website content which is present in my computer. I could easily transfer (copy + Paste) into my Cloud space.Part two: The Photo Gallery. Collection of photographs, about 15,000 which is directly posted and saved in the hosting server.So, My question is: How do I synchronize the FULL content of the hosting server in my Cloud Space??George

Version 2017.0.1 changed the intellisense/code hint selection button from tab to enter. Is there a way I can change it back?

In 2017.0.1, every time I edit a file and change windows, a save prompt appears. It's incredibly obnoxious. How can I disable this?

Hi,I have seen some gallery programs that use a 'tag' feature where you can add these tags and the image will show in the different galleries i.e.a photo tagged with dog, house, green would show in the dog gallery, house gallery and green gallery.Is there any way to do something like this with Dreamweaver CS6?At present I am having to copy each image and corresponding text into 4 or 5 different galleries or categories and with a few thousand photos it is taking forever on this update of the website.Any help appreciated.

Which works, (sort of) but when I reduced the browser size to simulate smaller screens, (to work out the lightbox overlay, and positioning) I now have a large top margin after the initial text then after every 2nd image.I can't work out if this is something to do with the flexbox css or my html code.If you could take a look and offer a solution, (or even any suggestions) I would be grateful, it's probably something simple but after writing the css animation code I've gone code blind .

Hi ... I'm new and it's been a while since I've built a website. I have watched and followed a few tutorials, which have been fabulous, however I'm struggling with getting my images to act the way I want them too. I'm working on a building a website that is viewable on mobile, tablet and desktop, and the coding I've used works on mobile and desktop, but I can't get it to respond correctly for tablet. I am working in Dreamweaver CS6 to create a small website. I have been fighting with the menu, trying responsive image maps and image links with no success.What I'm trying now is a fluid background image, but it isn't adjusting in size correctly. Hello all, I have a question about automation. I've read that Dreamweaver has some degree of recordable functionality for tasks that must be repeated over and over, and I need some info regarding it's limitations. I love the actions you can setup in Photoshop, which greatly cut down on the repetitiveness of having to do the same thing over and over. I need a similar solution in Dreamweaver.For instance. Every day I update a HTML where I have to take lines 1-10 and move them down. Then I copy and paste those lines and put them at the top (which will be my new entry for the day) then delete the bottom few lines (which is removing the old content). It would save huge amounts of time if I could hit a button and Dreamweaver knew where to move these lines on its own (since this is the exact same steps every day and never change). How can this be done? Does Dreawweaver have this built in function like the Photoshop automated actions? If not, what kind of script can I use via a 3rd party to ac

I have had this happen to two different websites so it's important I get the answer. I am creating a newsletter to be sent out via an email broadcast, so I need to use absolute links to the css style sheet (e.g., http://www.afpneo.org/zcss.css instead of ../zcss.css). When I use the relative link (../zcss.css), the newsletter looks fine in design view. However, when I switch the link to http://www.afpneo.org/zcss.css , it actually shows and lists the styles from one of my other websites (e.g., http://www.bcfohio.org/zcss.css When I publish it, it looks fine - it shows the styles from afpneo, but I need it to show the styles when I am in design view so I can design it correctly. Has anyone found out what CodeMirror css style colors the id tag? I'd really like the id and the class names to be the same color. At the moment my stylesheet looks like an accident in a paint factory. I think I just about get something right only to add another tag or attribute and another color appears in the stylesheet, lol.#name {}.name {}Cheers Os.The color coding is not that great. There's either far to many colors or not enough, its poor in this day and age given that it's one of the most important aspects of web developer set up.

In the previous version of Dreamweaver there was a single button in the toolbar that would take a mass of code and organize it neatly into a tree based on the tags. In version 2017.0.1 Release build 9346 I can't find this one simple solution. I use it to grab a mess from one of our sites and simplify it. I have recently 'inherited' a company website from the person who used to work here and am in the process of trying to add new webpages. I can create the pages easily enough and they look fine on my computer when I load them in various browsers. I am using (as far as I'm aware) the same Dreamweaver template that was used to create the other pages that are currently live on the website. However, when I go to upload the new page through Filezilla, I get an image that looks like this when I type in the URL:Clearly the template isn't attaching properly to the new webpages I am creating. The current webpages look fine, by my new ones that I am trying to add do not! Does anyone have any solutions? Any suggestions would be great!

The get/put options all work, however i get this error when transferring files in DW 2015. - error occurred - An error occurred - cannot put .  An unknown error occurred.File activity incomplete. 1 file(s) or folder(s) were not completed.Files with errors: 1Why does it try to put this . file and how can I shut it off from trying. I'm having issues with custom fonts. If you look at the screenshots you will see that the two lines of text should be different. The top one is my .stylechapter font which is Open Sans Condensed/bold/with 5px spacing and the bottom one is .stylestory which uses regular Arial/normal/no letter spacing.First question.When I change the font for the selected text, I notice that it just adds the new font to the old font (the table body tbody tr td p .stylechapter span style story) Is that normal?Second question.In this case the font is not my story font but the chapter font but a black color and with wider letter spacing, I also notice that the Font box is blank, it should show the font for that style - which in this case should be Arial.Any idea what's going on?ThanksAlan

The new preview mode is terrible.  PLEASE switch back. Is there a way to switch back?  Do not like the new "Files Icon".  Also coding is buggy in general.
