Dreamweaver

Complete novice here, so bear with me... I've found myself in the unenviable position of being the most tech-savvy person in a small non-profit.  as such, the responsibility of updating/managing the website has fallen to me.  That this has fallen to me is a woeful indictment on our ability to find and keep competent tech people, but it's the situation we have, so... Best I can tell, the remote server seems to have several similar folders containing various iterations of the site, none of which are complete...but which, collectively, seem to function reasonably well.  For the most part, the site has been cobbled together in php, with a smattering of html sections.  Again, this is what I inherited and I'm only about 80% sure I even understand what's happening. The trouble I'm having is when I try to make edits to the content, I can't easily find the files related to specifc pages without having to open every folder and open a half dozen not-quite-right

I'm using iMac 24 with Apple M1 chip. I'm smoothly using every other Adobe softwares which are M1 compatabile. But for some reasons Adobe is not updating Dreamweaver to a M1 version. Could you please let us know when will be the M1 compatible version be rolling out?

Hello All,I am posting on behalf of one of my students, for whom English is a second language (and not comfortable posting). She has a paid subscription to Creative Cloud, is using a Windows OS11 laptop and has downloaded and installed Dreamweaver. However, the app continues to crash after launch - despite uninstalling and reinstalling several times. Any ideas how to address the following error recieved each time: 

I just updated my first website, which was a combo of bootstrap and my own coding. I updated the footer in the template to include favicons and a background color. I used CSS and flexbox to position my text with the favicons. Everything looked fine until I realized that the footer was only "sticky" when there was alot of content on the page. In the emptier pages, the footer floats to the top. good page: https://www.drct.com/not good: https://www.drct.com/search.htmlI tried adding a footer class called "footer-main", toggling the position..absolute, relative, fixed, etc. That worked with one page, but not with the other. I actually did figure this problem out on my other website, but that was a different design without bootsrap. Is there any quickfix, without messing up the entire website? Is there a bootstrap footer class that will do some magic? Please excuse my coding. This was my first website from a year ago. The footer styles are mostly in "footer.css".  Thanks

Is there a way to specify the file extension(s) when doing a search? If I know what I'm looking for is in a php file I need to filter for that, I don't need the search results to list the finds in css or js files or even waste time looking in non php files. Notepad++ allows *.php

Hi.I've been using DW Templates and it helps me a lot.My quesion is, how to overwrite the "editable region" by the contents of "editable region" of the .dwt file.For instance, look at the next code:<!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="doctitle" --> <title>ABC online store</title> <!-- TemplateEndEditable -->This is the editable region created at the beginning.Then, I usually edit this title tag for each pages as below:<!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="doctitle" --> <title>contact page | ABC online store</title> <!-- TemplateEndEditable -->This is fine so far. But when you create next website based on this template-based website, you want to replace the brand name ABC with XYZ but it fails.Just modifing the text ABC with XYZ in the dwt file and saving it end up with changing only the dwt file, not any other web pages baced on the template. Any advice?

I'm following a basic HTML tutorial on building a website, and I'm stuck on a part where she has told me to duplicate my article within my container (that's inside of the body), and on her website, the length of the container automatically adjusted, but on mine, it overlapped my footer and the container's background never extended. I tried adjusting the padding for the footer but it stays overlapped, and I tried the same with the container but it adjusts all of the articles in the container that I duplicated.I'm mainly confused about why it's overlapping, but also why the container is auto-adjusting even though that's how I've coded it. My code is identical to the tutorial so some guidance would be appreciated.

Insert > Named AnchorThis command has been removed. Does it exist elsewhere, or does one have to hand code the HTML in DW? A previous thread on this states that "Named anchors are deprecated since HTML4" but I can find no mention of this anywhere in the HTML 4 specs, indeed the w3c pages themselves use named anchors for navigation.[deprecation of this tag was stated in a now edited page on the less than reliable w3schools website, so that may be where this idea came from]. Are there any good reasons why we should switch away from using <a id="e"></a>Example(performance perhaps?)and are there any easy ways of entering Named anchors with DW now that the menu option has been removed?Thanks

Ich habe seit heute folgendes Problem: Wenn ich in Adobe Dreamweaver starte, steigt die Arbeitsspeichernutzung von Adobe Dreamweaver ins unermessliche. Es verbraucht dann zum Teil > 800 GB RAM (siehe Screenshot). Dann bekomme ich diese Fehlermeldung. Ich habe eigentlich nichts Neues eingestellt, es kam plötzlich. Ich habe Adobe Dreamweaver schon neu installiert, hat aber nicht geholfen. Ich benutze ein MacPRO 2019 mit 96 GB Ram und Ventura 13.2.1. Was kann ich tun, dass Adobe Dreamweaver nicht so viel Arbeitsspeicher braucht? Es ist ja eigentlich "nur" ein Textbearbeitungsprogramm, das kann doch nicht so viel RAM brauchen...Vielen lieben Dank für euer Feedback.

Bonjour à tous, Malgré une facture payé hier par domiciliation bancaire, je n'arrive pas à ouvrir Dreamweaver sans l'applet qui me signale que ma version est expirée. J'ai reçu la facture ce matin, j'ai verifié dans mon compte Adobe Creative Cloud, etc, ... Whenever I cancel an upload or download, Dreamweaver closes, crashes, goes away.Work is lost because it doesn't open the previously opened docs when I re-open it (which works if DW doesn't crash).How about a fix?

Clicking the Class selector on the properties panel for classesis is useless. No scroller on window, no PageDown/Up. Only row by row scroll with arrows. This bug is from ver. 2017. Not repaired yet, unfortunatelly!

I am new to DreamWeaver and having a tough time getting familiar with the whole HRML/CSS -> web page way of doing things.  I licenced this tool because it looked like a fully featured application that got around the limitations I found when using more crude "free" web page design tools.  My biggest problem is inconsistencies in the documentation.  My installation is version 21.3 build 15593.  I'm not sure what the manual version online relates to but there are areas which have a reference in the manual but I cannot see where they exist in the application. For instance: The area the describes formatting lists into Ordered Lists {numbered} or Unordered {Bulleted} lists is missing a dialogue that would turn a string of text into numbered/bulleted lists.  That is a basic requirement and if I cannot do that then I am going to have a big problem grappling with this tool.    Is there a repository for the manual that actually relates to the

Two of us are making updates to the same website. Problem: One of us deletes a page and syncs. When the other of us syncs, it finds the page in our local copy and wants to put it back on the live site. Is there a "Delete local files not on remote server" option? Basically the inverse of the standard "Delete remote files not on local drive" checkbox. 

I was updating a page on a clients HTML website, and without telling me, he also started working on the same page (super frustrating and I've had a conversation with him about it so it won't happen again). Anyway, I was having issues connecting to the server and kept getting an FTP error that my user limit was reached and it couldn't connect, so I don't believe I was actually connected. But now it's giving me a conflicting settings error and says that there are sync conflicts and I need to choose which settings to keep, upload sync settings or download sync settings. I can't force close or in any way get out of DW until I select one. I hadn't made any changes on my end so the changes the client made need to stay. Can someone explain this error to me so that I can make an informed decision? What is download sync settings vs upload sync settings? Hello, I have a page made in Dreamweaver, on the navbar there is text for links but for the life of me I cannot figure out how I change text colour. I recently bought the new Mac Studio and installed Dreamweaver 2021.  I need all my site data from the 2020 installation on my 2012 Cheesegrater.  Can anyone tell my how and from where to import the site data?  I still have the boot drive and all the files from the old install.

Hi,I just installed Dreamweaver 21.3, 15593 Build on a Windows 11 Pro 22H2 machine with 64 GB of RAM (36 GB free as of this writing). I have not made any settings changes: everything is at the defaults set by the Adobe installer. I installed it because of its 'Live View' editing abilities. I won't bore you with all of the hoops I have already jumped through. I've duplicated the bug with a default HTML 5 doc created within Dreamweaver which has a single p element with some lorem ipsum text within. I entered the text (absent single quote marks):'there ffore'within the lorem ipsum text. I then placed the cursor between the two 'f 'characters and proceeded to press the following keys:Backspace (first 'f' was deleted which was expected)Backspace ('e' was deleted! not expected)Delete (remaining 'f' was deleted! not expected)Delete ('o' was deleted. Hello,I'm probably overlooking something, but I'm trying to place an image into a webpage, inside a container. The image is nested inside a <div></div> tag and titled "Matthew" within a container in the html. When I go CSS, I create a selector, with the following declorations: .Matthew {        width: 90%;        margin-left: auto;        margin-right: auto;} I'm no DW expert. What am I doing wrong? Sand Patch

I have seen ongoing complaints for memory issues with Dreamweaver for years so I guess this may be a waste of time in posting.  Someone posted that Adobe is just cobbling Dreamweaver and that it is not being actively developed.  I had actually believed I was having computer problems until I realized it was Dreamweaver alone that was working so slowly.  Is there a fix pending?  Something to be done if not why doesnt Adobe just put it out to pasture and save the grace.  

Apologies if I just haven't found the correct submenu yet. I am trying to add a keyboard shortcut of CTL+T to add the <tt></tt> for code editor. There does not appear to be an existing menu to do this.Is there a method to modify DW 21.3 menus to add a custom keyboard shortcut as there was in older DW releases? Thanks.

Hi, I am using a MAC version of Dreamweaver CC 2017 and I try to install add-ons server behavior & database, the system show ok, installed, but when I run Dreamweave, the options don't appear. I tried all, but not success. On Windows work well. Anyone can help me? Thanks
