It would be useful to be able to pick a standard 4:3, 3:6 etc ratio for the photo container when you add it in the book module. It would also be very useful if you could tell it to use the same size photo container that you used on a previous photo.
Adding the ability to lock down a container for a photo or text box once you have created it in the book module would make it much easier to work without constantly accidently grabbing the resize handles. I am making a photobook that is a field guide for visiting a wild horse area. The photos and text boxes are fairly small and while trying to click into a box to type I often accidently grab the resize bar, which is time consuming and then I have to resize.
I’d like the option to display flags (Pick/Reject) and star ratings while using Full Screen / Lights Out mode in Lightroom Classic. Right now, pressing F disables the "I" key info overlay, which prevents seeing critical culling information while viewing images distraction-free. Suggested enhancement: Allow the "I" key (or a preference toggle) to show flags and star ratings in Full Screen mode, similar to how it works in Loupe view. This would significantly improve culling and review workflows by combining a clean viewing experience with essential rating visibility.
For sound reasons (not least Windows on ARM support), Adobe has chosen to implement Sony tethering via Sony's Camera Remote Command documentation rather than the Sony Camera Remote SDK. The latest version of the Sony Camera Remote Command documentation details how to access Sony cameras over PTP-IP, not just (USB) PTP as currently supported in Lightroom Classic. The tethering commands are the same, so most of the work is already done; the only remaining step is to add support for IP transport. Please consider adding PTP-IP tethering for Sony cameras in a future version of Lightroom Classic. This would not only allow users to ditch their USB cables for studio tethering, but also to tether networked cameras that are remote from the computer running Lightroom Classic, including cameras installed with network connectivity in difficult-to-reach locations such as high above a sports stadium. A further advantage of supporting PTP-IP tethering is that the need for Windows
Currently, when syncing AI masks across multiple photos, a modal progress window appears that blocks the entire application — even if I want to work on other photos that are not being processed, I can’t. It would be very helpful if this process could run in the background: the photos being processed could remain temporarily locked, but users should still be able to browse and edit other images in their catalog. This behavior already exists for other operations like export or preview generation, and it greatly improves workflow efficiency.
The lowest common denominator for auto-stacking is 1s. For event photography and rapid-burst, this doesn't always work as intended. I'd love to see an option to reduce the time between photos to 1/100 of a second.
I have separate specialized LR catalogs just for videos, and run Premiere Pro Media Intelligence Analysis on the files folder to be able to search in video files. Since PRMI files are configurable as sidecar to the video files themselves it would be nice to have Lightroom check if PRMI sidecar file is found in the video folder and use those to let the user search in the Lightroom catalog too. I also saw that there would be no need to use Premiere for the analysis but it's possible from Media Encoder that is now in beta.
Lightroom does not allow me to export in CMYK for printing... I think this is a no brainer, would love to here about why this is a feature only available on photoshop, most photographers who want to print will be concerned by this... I no longer have photoshop in my plan, nowadays plan is more expensive and includes less... Quite dissapointed with adobe here. Example here of photo printed in RVB creates a terrible version compared to photo on screen... I'm learning but this is frustrating that I need photoshop just for this...
Screenshot 2025-11-30 at 15.11.31.png I would like to see spot and particle removal added for underwater photography. Similar to Dust spot removal from sensor. It would be such an incredible boost to underwater photographers to be able to use AI to remove water spots that gather on the dome during dives. They look very similar to dust spots on the sensor.I would also like to see the ability to detect more dust spots. Separate issue, but when I shoot underwater I use live view mode because an underwater monitor is another $5K. As a result I get a lot of very small dust spots after a while. Dust spot removal does not detect them all. I will attach a good example of what photos can look like underwater. You can imagine the amount of work to clean this up. I typically use the remove tool and lens blur to get the background clean, but if you could find away to fix this with AI, it would be a game changer for every professional underwater photographer out there.
Please add a cropping tool to the library module because the library works much faster.
I love lossy DNG. Would love to skip a whole step of importing and then converting.
The feature request is simple: I suggest to be able to reverse our Linear Gradients without needing to use "Invert" it could doabl via: Right Click L-gradient > "Reverse Gradient" The advantage of this is that the state of our Liner Gradient(s) won't change. Current method Suggested Tis a small thing but I propose anyway.
I’m writing about a problem I’ve encountered that seems to have a lot of people frustrated on the forums, but that Adobe apparently hasn’t done anything to address. This pertains to both LR Classic and PS 2002. I use LR Classic CC and Photoshop 2022 on a new Macbook Pro (OS 12.1, M1 max chip), connected to an external monitor with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. The problem is that the fonts in the drop-down menus (and to a lesser extent, on the panel labels) are spidery and difficult to read, and there’s no way to adjust them or make them larger and clearer. From what I’ve read on the forums, this problem is even worse for those who have upgraded to 4K monitors. The usual solution (and the only one offered by tech support) is to use the Mac’s system preferences to change the monitor display settings to a lower resolution. This isn’t a workable solution because external monitors don’t work well when they’re not at their optimal resolution. If you try to scale them to somethi

When a camera is disconnected during tethered shooting, the "Detecting camera" dialog box is intrusive and often worries my clients. Disconnecting a camera to change lenses, batteries, etc. is common in many shooting scenarios. While it is important to inform the user that tethering has been suspended, it would be nice to have the option for a less disruptive form of notification, especially since the computer is often relatively "client-facing" during many tethered workflows. The tether bar changing color or being greyed out might be sufficient. At the very least, the "Detecting" window shouldn't appear over the photo in the middle of the screen.
When making collections, 'Inside a Collection Set' checkbox and droupdown is cleared every invocation please keep it as previous 'Create' operation.
This is a change request that modifies the the image that's displayed when multiple images are selected in the grid or film strip. I often select multiple images to add a keyword or a title/caption. I usually click on the first image on the filmstrip and then select consecutive images with Shift-Right or by clicking on additional images. The image shown in the loupe view or on the second monitor is always the first selected image. I would much prefer this to be the last image that I selected. This makes it much easier to find the end of a sequence of images, instead of squinting at the film strip. I don't see any reason to keep displaying the first selected image -- it's much more useful to display each additional image as it's selected.
The Edit Metadata Presets window is tiny. The field for the caption (description) information is a small one line window which makes it hard to see long captions. Compare the window to the IPTC editing window in PhotoMechanic where you can see almost all the fields at a glance and there's plenty of room to write a full caption. Also they have lightning bolts on each field which when clicked will call up previous entries which helps repetative typring. Whilst we're at it, can we bring the Metadata template presets out of the Library folder? It makes it very awkward to share presets with other photographers.
A new feature suggestion would be to use AI to match, as closely as possible, a "soft proof" copy with the edited image. This would safe tons of time when soft proofing an image for various paper types and would be an excellent use of Adobe's AI technology.
In using LRC.. and looking at metadata, is there a selection to display how a photo was captured.. IE I use Canon R62 and wondered if a photo was taken as Mechanical or 1st Curtain or Electronic? Do folks think that would be a needed option? looking thru my photos I took this weekend at a airshow. I thought it would be a good option to see what the selection was chosen? Would this take a update to camera firmware so software could pickup the metadata?
So, I shot a wedding recently, and the bride is getting teeth whitening. I used people search to tag her in all the photos and create a collection. I'd love it if instead of person 1, person 2, etc. LR Classic was able to apply the edits to her specifically. She's in a different order in several pics, so it applies to other people who may not need it or they may, but then she's not edited. I think this would majorly improve workflow for many to be able to apply feature edits to a specific person in a folder / collection.
After installing the latest release of Lightroom Classic 7.4 I'm unable to unmark my favorite folders. In other words, folders that were marked as favorites before the latest release can no longer be unmarked. I can, however, select a folder that was not a favorite before release 7.4 and mark it and also unmark it as a favorite. I use this feature a fair amount so I'm pretty sure this issue started after the latest release but I cannot be sure. Thoughts? Seems like one of those pesky software bugs to me. I'm an experienced user so I do not think this is some type of user error. The catalog is my master catalog and has about 600,000 images. I did not have any favorites marked in my sub catalogs before the release. They work fine but, again, the problem seems limited to the folders that were marked as favorites before the release.[Update: All of the reports here except one can be explained by the confusing design of LR's "favorite groups".&
Sometimes the (great) "select subject" tool does not get the subject quite right, and I will need to refine the subject selection with other masking tools (brush, color range, etc). I will give a name to this refined subject mask, such as "my custom subject". I wish I could subsequently refer to that mask, when doing substractions or intersections with other masking tools (as if that mask was a variable). Here is an example scenario that I am going through ffrequently: 1/ I use select subject 2/ I refine the selection, and name it "my custom subject" 3/ I do the treatment I want on "my subject" (usually I increase the texture a bit). 4/ I want to correct hot-spots created by my flash on objects brighter then the subject: I will create a radial mask, with the intention to reduce highlights, but I don't want highlights reduced on my subject. Feature request: I wish I could substract "my custom subject" from the radial mask, the same way as I can click "substract" and then pi
Since version 14.4, when a user enables the “Use Smart Previews instead of Originals for image editing” option, and are editing an image where both the originals and Smart Previews are available, they may be shown the following message when they edit an image: You have enabled "Use Smart Previews instead of Originals for image editing" in the preferences. When using the latest Al features, it is highly recommended that you always work on Originals. For best results disable this preference. A better implementation for this is to automatically load the originals when needed, rather than telling the user to disable “Use Smart Previews instead of Originals”. For instance, if the user attempts to use an AI tool that works better with the originals, and the originals are available, Lightroom should automatically load the original and use that. The user should only be warned if the originals are not available, telling them that the tool might not work as well on a Smart Preview.
This would allow people to start filenames with date-time so alphabetical order is same as capture time order, and would create unique filenames (without yet another field) and properly order bursts.... Presently, exif metadata includes subsecond field, but Lr filenaming template stops at full seconds. So for unique filenames, one would have to tack on some kind of sequence number or something as well. So, as things stand, one can have: YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS_{seq-num}_{photog/camera...} but not (as I would prefer): YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS-MS_{photog/camera...} A side benefit is that filename indicates subseconds between shots in a burst, which is otherwise unavailable in Lightroom without a plugin. Although, I could argue for displaying that too in formatted metadata display, even if only upon mouse-over. --------------- I would like to use Lightroom import dialog box for importing, instead of the plugin I use now, but it stops just shy of what I need/want still. - this is one of the things.
