Now that Premiere Pro has more than 90 new effects and transitions, there is a question of how to search the necessary ones faster especially when you are on a tight deadline. Favourites is great but it demands a preparation (finding and saving effects and transitions prior to work). The search in the Effects window is too far away from the timeline and you have to reset it every time you need a manual search. The perfect solution would be a search effects window brought via a key combination like the "standard" for such features Shift+Space. Once you use it, a panel appears consisting of 3 parts:- the upper part shows the previously used N effects and transitions (where N is set in the Preferences).- the middle is the actual Search bar where you type in names of effects and transitions. - the lower part under the Search shows the results found.AndrewTheGreat_0-1766236189197.png - The search is "clever" - it will dynamically show N results (where N is set in the Pre
There is an AI object mask tool in the current Beta which will be added in Premiere Pro 26. I tested the beta version and it was genuinely good, but the way it is applied is not as fast and intuitive as it could be.Right now the mechanism is this:- select the MOT in the instruments panel- click an object in your footage to select it- hit the tracking button to gather the tracking data.AndrewTheGreat_0-1766223603992.png By default this tracking data does nothing. In order to use it you have to apply it to a property. For instance, if you need your object isolated from the background, you need to apply (copy) the tracking data (unassigned mask) to the opacity property. If you need to isolate an effect - you copy it to an effect property. This system does not work with any effect plus it feels external, like Mocha, not integrated into Premiere Pro, not native, despite the dedicated buttons in the interface.. And it demands additional button clicks. I suggest takin
Premiere Pro is growing—and so are real-world editing demands. Unfortunately, the right-click context menus have grown too much. They now exceed screen height, forcing arrow scrolling. That’s bad ergonomics, slower workflows, and death by a thousand clicks.Editors need speed, not treasure hunts.Suggestions:Recently Used Actions in Context MenusAdd a dynamic “Recently Used” section at the top of all context menus.Example: Reveal in Project is frequently used but buried deep. It should surface automatically based on usage, not muscle memory.Smart Transition Recall on Clip SeamsWhen clicking a clip seam, show the last 10 used transitions instead of always defaulting to the same old default transition.Editors reuse patterns—Premiere should learn them, not ignore them. Why this matters:Fewer clicksLess cursor travelFaster decision-makingReduced cognitive loadPremiere is a professional tool. Professionals value momentum.Let the UI adapt to the editor—not the other way around.
Premiere Pro 2025 significantly lags behind other software, not even mentioning AI capabilities. To balance the scales, I believe Adobe should seriously consider adding truly useful and modern tools to Premiere Pro in the nearest future. The picturesque features shown at MAX 2025 looked impressive, but they were nothing more than prototypes and proof-of-concept demos. And the following tools and improvements are needed now. Some can even be added in the nearest weeks or months. 1. Fast and easy-to-use AI masking. I tested the beta version and it was genuinely good, but the way it is applied leaves much to be desired. There should be no need to create an empty tracking mask data and then apply it to effects. That workflow is outdated. Any effect — native or third-party — should have a dedicated mask tracking button.2. Proper native tracking. Premiere Pro is extremely weak in terms of tracking. Every modern video editing software has a fast, native tracking engine. Tracking in
When I choose 'Premiere Help' in the Help menu, I get a web page, where the search bar finds results in documentation of Adobe apps, in stead of Premiere specific information. Please restrict the search bar to the app from which the help request is invoked.,
Am I misremembering, or could I, until recently, do simple maths in number input fields, like in After Effects (eg. if I wanted to reduce the opacity to half of what it is, I could just type "/2" after the value in the number field). It doesn't work in PPro beta nor the release version - was I imagining that previous PPro versions had this ability? If so, let's bring it in! Moved to Ideas board by mod
Probably an unpopular opinion but I'm missing the reference monitor as it would be a workaround for the ongoing problems with Mercury Transmit (see: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/mercury-transmit-issues-3-monitor-setup/m-p/10961086). The reference monitor or a second program monitor would help in that case as they are independent from display resolution or scaling. They are just a panel like every other that I could drag and drop wherever I like (also in a corner if the third monitor is for someone else who needs to have a script open). This is setup independence I'd like to have back. If not in the shape of a reference monitor, then with the possibility of opening a second program monitor (panel). An option in such a panel to lock the monitor to be only program or (auto) switchable between source and program would also be helpful. Mercury transmit is nice IF it works and if you want the image to be full screen. In other cases, the "update" of rem
Further to the discussion linked below, I would like to add an additional feature request regarding anchor point behavior. When SRT captions are imported and upgraded to graphics, both paragraph text and point text have anchor points that are created in a different position compared to regular Essential Graphics text. This difference makes positioning and animation inconsistent with standard graphic text workflows.I would like to request that anchor points for upgraded SRT-based graphics be created in the same position and behavior as standard graphic text.Thank you for taking this request into consideration. refs: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro%E3%83%95%E3%82%A9%E3%83%BC%E3%83%A9%E3%83%A0-discussions/srt%E3%82%92%E4%B8%80%E8%88%AC%E7%9A%84%E3%81%AA%E3%82%B0%E3%83%A9%E3%83%95%E3%82%A3%E3%83%83%E3%82%AF%E3%83%86%E3%82%AD%E3%82%B9%E3%83%88%E3%81%A8%E3%81%97%E3%81%A6%E6%89%B1%E3%81%88%E3%82%8B%E3%82%88%E3%81%86%E3%81%AB%E3%81%97%E3%81%9F%E3%81%84/m-p/15636468?profile.
I would prefer for clip crop settings to be an independant group in effects control versus being part of the motion group as they are now.
im just bringing this idea back into relevence as clearly adobe are just ignoring the original post, however im sure almost everyone can agree that WE DO NOT NEED THESE, all they do is hide the waveform and add a extra useless distraction. PLEASE add a option to remove these stupid tags in the next update as im sure the entire adobe community would appreciate it. this has literally been a issue talked about for a decade, so for the love of god just listen to the people who are paying monthly subscriptions every monthScreenshot 2025-12-16 at 16.32.37.png
Can we get the option to change the default font? Yes I know you can create text styles but I don't want to do that all the time. I just want set a new default font. No more Minion Pro.
I want to draw a mask.I click on the rectangle icon.A rectangular mask appears. Nice.Wait, it's a fixed size. Why this size? Nvm, I'll just resize it.Where's the handle? I suppose it's that rectangle thingy. Unusual.Wait, why is it making it all blurry? Maybe the other handle.Nice, it's resizing. Wait, why are the edges rounded? I never asked for that.Let's look for more... Nope, there's no option. I have to resize it by hand. This is very tedious. Especially when you do that dozens of times a day for weeks, months, years. There's a super easy fix : just switch from "on click, rectangle is spawn" to "on click, cursor changes into rectangle icon, then user can draw the rectangle mask the size he wants".Then, feather and angle roundness can be adjusted via mask options. Why not?DeeS_2-1765850243776.png
We need to automate removal of clicks, uh's, uhm's, and long pausesCuts audio and video, hard cuts for video, tiny crossfades for audioControls for how long the pauses should beThx
The speech to text captioning is a great feature but the thing that is taking up way too much of my time is the awkward way the program capitalizes sentences. Yes, the captions are broken up into time-based fragments, but generally the punctuation is unnatural. Things that should represent flow-on sentences are treated like each segment is a sentence and is given a period and a new sentence capitalized after. This kind of thing is basic for an AI to get right, so my suggestion is that the algorithm is tweaked.
In Premiere Pro, caption layout rules (max characters per line, single vs double lines, minimum duration, gap, etc.) are only applied at the moment captions are created from the transcript. Once captions exist, there is no way to re-apply these rules. This creates a major workflow problem when delivering multiple aspect ratios (e.g. 16:9 and 9:16):Captions are often created for a 16:9 master edit. When repurposing the same edit for 9:16, the existing captions are too wide. There is no automation to rewrap or regenerate those captions with new layout constraints. The only option is to manually edit each caption or delete and fully recreate them, losing caption-level timing and edits. Is there any current workaround planned, or is this functionality on Adobe’s roadmap? all the bestMikael
It's 2025 now and it still doesn't seem easy for it to recognize silence from not. This function is VERY SMART in Adobe Audition. And I thought it would be easy for Premiere to extrapolate that. But it keeps on cutting audio! Or not removing defined pauses. Are updates coming for this feature?
Idea:Please add a direct Warp Stabilizer shortcut in Premiere Pro. Right now users must search for “Warp Stabilizer” in the Effects panel and drag it every time. There should be: A direct button/action in the Effects panel (like pressing one key, for example A) to instantly apply Warp Stabilizer to the selected clip. Most importantly — Warp Stabilizer should work without requiring nesting when speed/duration changes are applied. It’s 2025 and this limitation still slows down workflow unnecessarily. For fast-paced editing (especially weddings, events, handheld shots), this wastes a lot of time. A one-click or one-key stabilization option would significantly speed up the editing process. Please consider adding this in the next release. Thank you.
I took a screenshot of what I mean. I added a screenshot, take a look.Namely: in order not to adjust the scale manually, you can simply adjust the size of the 4k video to the size of the 1080 project with one click, that is, quickly reduce it by half. And also center the anchor point. This is present in AE, it should be in Premiere. Thanks!
Considering Windows 11 feels like the slowest and most unstable Microsoft OS in years, I would really like to switch over to literally any Linux distribution. I just want to escape the general instability with drivers and Microsoft pushing updates that break my setup all the time - without loosing the choice of what hardware I run (like with MacOS). Over the last years Windows dll compatibility got a lot better with Wine. I remember seeing several people successfully running Premiere Pro 24 utilizing Wine and some dlls they manually copied from Windows. The only thing holding more people back from doing that is that it currently isn't possible to verify your program, since there is no way to run the Creative Cloud App. I'm aware that a native port is a lot of work, but you seem to be able to do this for Apple M-Series hardware as well. Anyways - is the stance still that Linux isn't a thing Adobe wants to bother with, while you bleed more and more users to DaVinci Re

In team-based editing environments, transcripts are frequently recreated for the same source footage across multiple Premiere Pro projects. While formats like SRT exist, they are fundamentally limited and not suitable for treating transcripts as reusable editorial assets. Current problem:SRT files are designed only for subtitle display. They are flat text files that contain basic timing and text, but they lack any meaningful connection to the source footage. As a result:They cannot verify whether a transcript matches the correct clipThey do not retain clip metadata such as duration, frame rate, timecode, or codecThey lose internal transcription structure and accuracy generated by PremiereThey cannot support validation, versioning, or reliable relinking in team workflowsBecause transcripts live only inside Premiere project files, and SRTs cannot act as a true source of truth, teams are forced to re-transcribe footage that has already been accurately transcribed in the past. Pr
In my workflow, I often create multiple versions of a video from the same source footage (for example, different edits, durations, or platform-specific versions). This is especially common with interviews or talking-head footage, where I rely heavily on auto-transcription and captions. The current problem is that transcription corrections made inside a sequence are isolated to that specific sequence. When I correct errors in captions (names, terminology, repeated misinterpretations) and later reuse the same footage in another sequence, those same errors reappear. This forces me to correct the same transcription mistakes multiple times across sequences, which is inefficient and increases the risk of inconsistencies. Proposed solution:Add an optional linking mechanism (for example, a chain/link icon in the Text panel) that allows the editor to choose:“Apply caption corrections made in this sequence to the original clip transcript.”When enabled, this would: Update the master tran
Add a function that will return the cursor to the starting point of the playback. AE has it. Why doesn't Premiere have it? I don't understand... it's like different software manufacturers.
Hello Adobe Team,I would like to request a new feature for Adobe Premiere Pro: built-in face filters and makeup enhancement tools, similar to what CapCut offers. These tools would let users quickly adjust makeup (lipstick, skin smoothing, contour, eyelashes, eyebrows, etc.) directly inside Premiere Pro, without third-party plugins. This would be extremely helpful for model shoots, beauty content, and any project needing quick makeup corrections. It would also be great to include auto face tracking optimized for applying these filters accurately. This feature would save editors a lot of time and bring modern, in-demand capabilities to Premiere Pro.
Clearing our Preferences is the first suggestion that's given to every problem. But do the people who direct us to do this know how long it takes to get Premiere back to the way we've set it? I've done it a few times in the past and it's taken me weeks to iron out all the little settings and get Premiere behaving the way I like. This process become a huge disincentive for me to clear my Preferences. Since it's the first port of call for every little problem, it would be WONDERFUL if Adobe would provide us with a way of generating a log or digest of what our settings are before we clear them, so that rebuilding them can be a straight-forward process. Yes, I take screenshots of every page of the Prefences dialogue box, and I take screenshots of the layout of the panels in each workspace, and I try to take screenshots of all the menus in the main menu bar, and the hamburger buttons, and the wrench buttons... but it's unweildy and complicated. It would be great if there was
