Fireworks

I cannot figure out how to make this dashed curve as shown below:I can only make it like this with the vector tools provided in Fireworks CS6:Is there a way to make dashed curves with straight edges on their cuts?

Think it is devastating that Fireworks is no longer available or has 64-bit support.But does anyone know if Adobe has a replacement application or suit for just this application or if any other developer has one?My opinion is that Fireworks is pefekt with combined bitmap and vector support, user friendly interface and the quality when exporting for the web.

I have just downloaded two documents but they won't open, I have an error come up that says: This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings Page. I have tried to do this by installing Adobe Reader Touch but it still won't work. Can someone please help me?

hi,I will be switching to Adobe Creative Cloud soon, however as Fireworks is no longer part of this package, I am concerned about two things:- is there another app in Creative Cloud that allows me to open and edit the (many) layered Fireworks png's of past web projects I preserve for future updates?- and is there an app in the package thas offers the same comfort and flexibility in creating web graphics?All help and suggestions welcome,cheers,Frank

Hi,I presently am using Adobe Fireworks CS5 with Win 7 Pro 64-bit and am about to upgrade (not a clean install) to Win 10 Pro 64-bit.  I absolutely love this program and would really like to hear from anyone who has been able to make it work in Win 10. Thanks.

I tried to buy an individual copy when I found out it was no longer available through Creative Cloud. I tried to contact someone beyond the keyboards of the help chat. Instead I'm left posting my feelings here.   I want to tell you why I mentioned my age, but for that I have to start in 2002, when I was studied web design in college. I happened to meet the amazing woman who would later became my wife there that year as well. I was also introduced to Macromedia Fireworks 4 as part of my course, as the years passed and I left college, I became a web developer, then project manager, art shop sales assistant, pen and paper RPG club runner, night club glass collector, dad (9 years ago), husband (7 years ago), web developer (again), graphics designer and then company director. Hi, I worked for an education establishment in the UK and they have a license for Creative Cloud. I really like Fireworks but, as I know it is not supported by Adobe anymore, it is not available within the current version. I also know that it is available in the older apps section of the Creative Cloud desktop, but as I am within an educational establishment I don't have access to that part of the app. Is there any other way I can download Fireworks. RegardsDavid

I have Fireworks CS6 installed on my computer and have used it for many many years. Just got a new computer and loaded it but I don't have a serial number. Where can I get one? I am so frustrated already - Adobe cannot help me.

how do I update adobe fireworks cs6?

In my epublisher online help output files is a folder called Connect and an images subfolder containing a skin.png file, which holds the icons for the interface, e.g. prev button, home icon, etc. I would like to edit the icon colors but the skin.png file does not allow selection of an icon image; does anyone know how I might use Fireworks (or Illustrator) to edit the skin.png file?

I've used macromedia products for a very long time, it's one of the few professional softwares I have purchased. Adobe has some good stuff too but it's overkill. So I have been happily using fireworks without a problem for 14 years. I used the Adobe subscription for a while, but let it expire. Now, my macromedia products which are paid in full, are throwing up a prompt to update my billing for the adobe suite, and I an no longer access the software I purchased 14 years ago.This is an extremely unethical business practice. Customer service told me to come here, a community forum, instead of helping me.

I'm trying to install Fireworks on Creative Cloud but I get a message that there's a conflict with imageready.exe. But I can't find imageready. exe anywhere on my computer. Please advise. Thanks.

I purchased Adobe Creative Suite Web Premium years ago. I had to change my PC and so I could not restore web premium to the new Machine.In the last few days I made some progress and have received from Adobe chat line a new serial number for CS3 and have in fact restored it (I think).How ever when I try to use this I find the only application which seems present is Dreamweaver CS3 which I do not need as I am using CS6. In fact what I want is Fireworks CS3.As I have a new serial number is it possible to get Fireworks CS3 reinstalled somehow?Thank you for any helpRegardsJohn Hardy

Hi I have recently formatted my laptop and re-installed my licenced copy of Adobe Firworks CS3. However when launching the application it brings up another window that normally would go through the registration/activation process. However the website it tries to reach is https://www.adobeereg.com/ which does not exist anymore. I am unable to progress as the window cannot be closed and the app cannot be used. Please advise on how I move forward now and use Adobe Fireworks CS3. I assume some file may need editing to point to the new URL or a patch?ThanksSunny

I had paid for Fireworks CS3 some years ago and recently after a hard drive failed I lost the application. I need to get Fireworks CS3 back.To further complicate matters, when I try and sign on with my old Adobe account, the account that I bought Fireworks CS3 with, I sign in just fine however immediately I am prompted to change my password via a link sent to the email address that I had registered with at the time of purchasing Fireworks CS3. Hello, I'm new to the community and look forward to being here. I bought a second hand computer some years ago which had Adobe fireworks on it, I love this program and have done everything in it. Wanted to learn photoshop as well, I purchased the creative cloud thing and it prompted me to update fireworks, after doing so I cannot use it, its asking for a license which I don't have, I contacted support and they told me to come here to get help as fireworks is discontinued. So here I am seeking help as everything Ive ever done is with this application.

I accidentally switched the dimension display in the properties panel go from pixels to either inches or centimeters. I dropped the keyboard when this happened so I didn't see which buttons were pushed. Can someone please tell me how to make the width and height properties display pixels again please?

I have an official copy of Fireworks MX 2004 and every time I open it, it requires that I enter the serial number.  That is getting to be a pain!  is there a way to activate the product and make it permanent?

Hi. I have an Adobe account through my employer. I'm able to open Photoshop, Illustrator, XD all fine, but when I try and open Fireworks it says my license has expired. I know it's no longer supported but I've been able to use it fine up until last week. Do you know any reason for this? The customer support link that appears takes me to a page about my serial number being wrong (https://www.adobe.com/au/genuine/landing-csadnr.html?sdid=599F8QN9&trackingid=CRH529XX&mv=other) but isn't this the same serial number for all the aps?

Hello,I've recently been handed off a Fireworks CS5 file (it's a PNG, unfortunately) and it's missing Effects and Filters. I also opened it in Fireworks CS6 and same issue.I'm missing the following:BevelGlassExtrudeI'm at a loss on what to do with this file. If I open it other programs it's destroys the files set up and Adobe no longer supports Fireworks. Any advice on how to fix these missing filters/effects or how to migrate this file to another Adobe program (without losing Artboards, fonts, effects, ect.) please let me know.Thank you!

I keep downloading .8bf plugins to find out they end up in the "Menu->Filters" rather than the Live Filters that apply non-destructively to objects.I have a few .8bf plugins which work as Live Filters. Eyecandy 4000, Alien Skin, and Splat. They are pretty good, but I am on the hunt for a simple Pixelate plugin and all the ones I've found so far will convert the object to a bitmap before being used so they aren't much use. BTW: Fireworks is still the only vector/bitmap app which edits non-destructively with photoshop plugins.So this leads me to a question: Is there a list of freeware .8bf plugins which work as Live Filters in Fireworks?Q2: What makes an .8bf plugin work as a Live filter? Do Illustrator plugins work as Live Filters in Fireworks?

So here we are on the threshold of High Sierra... 10.13... Does FW CS6 from the CC work in Mac 10.13?  I have used the stand alone CS6 version of FW and DW for years now. Love FW, best app for quick graphics and images!  But I do not trust Adobe to update it for High Sierra, if they consider it no longer supported.  Is anyone using it in High Sierra? Or have any indication that it will be updated for 10.13 in the CC?
