Flash Player (read-only)

I have been told that Adobe has issued an "emergency update" for Flash Player over concerns that it can be hacked by Ransomware.  Is this true?  I see it in several links on the Internet, but nothing on Adobe.com.  I have a colleague unwilling to download Adobe Flash Player because of these reports and now we can't get any work done.  So I would like to know if there are recent problems with Flash Player and is it safe to download.  Thank.

This is for ADOBE FOLKS....When Adobe push a new patch for all software, including pop up for flash, etc. See below...   Adobe REQUIRE to display a new version BEFORE we download.   Why?  We noticed that sometimes it is FISHY.  Even we already updated, then we got new patch next few days.  What the HECK!!!PLEASE respect our requests.Again, this is for ADOBE FOLKS to read this. I'm unable to install the latest upgrade. I get a "Script Error" dialog box, with "An error has occurred with the script on this page" "Do you want to continue running scripts on this page Yes/No" All instances of browser (Firefox) are closed. Antivirus is Norton Internet Security. System is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

This has been going on for weeks. Only temporary solution for me is to keep restoring my Win 7 SP 1 HP Pavilion laptop to a earlier saved restore set point.  My system says I have Flash version 2100197 installed, I cannot tell if this is the latest?  Attempts to trouble shoot end with a frozen screen. I believe I have the latest Chrome version installed as the chrome bars do not indicate a new version when right clicked.  I enabled Adobe Flash Player a long time ago, I don't know why the failure notice concerns Shockwave Flash as I do not believe it is on my laptop (?).  I cannot find any reference to having it. On my plug in list only the Flash Player is referenced, there are no other competing players or plug ins.Troubleshooting this would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.   I am at wits end.Thanks in advance,Robert

i have just installed windows 10 and trying to access files in microsoft edge(internet explorer) but the flash player sites are not working i also have the done the troubleshoting process as on adobe help page but it's still not getting accessed what to do?

Flash Player Help page indicates out of date version 21.0.0.197 needs to be updated to 21.0.0.213 (as expected), but link to Flash Player Download page offers 21.0.0.197. What gives? Windows 7 x64 Pro SP1 with IE11.

I have tried repeated updates in an attempt to fend off this ransomware threat. I checked my version before updating and it was 21,0,0216. That does not change no matter what I do. I have windows 7 on both of my laptops. I use both Chrome and IE browsers. I have tried to update on both with the same result .

Same issue.  It's not the cursor flashing for me, but rather, the windows hourglass flickers on and off, continuously.  It started immediately after I installed the latest Flash update.If this isn't resolved soon, I will have no reasonable option but to delete the upgrade.  Given the continuing security risks with this product, if I can't use the most recent patched version, I will have no choice but to remove Flash altogether.UPDATE:  The cursor/hourglass flashes nonstop on EVERY program and even the desktop screen.  At first, I thought it was only on web browsers.  A real pain!k

A majority of my Macs running fpsaud are reporting install failures (currently running 21.0.0.182 upgrading to 21.0.0.213). This is on OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) and 10.11 (El Capitan) both. Mac OSX 10.11.3  ---System was working fine  until I downloaded latest Adobe Flash Player update.  In attempting to install on my computer the installation stopped at 93% and indicated error.  One of my websites does not function without this update and they advised using a different browser other than Safari.  I downloaded Firefox and used this to access my malfunctioning website without success,  I tried the installation many times with Safari and always the same hang up problem.  I suspect there is an incompatibility of the new Flash update with my Mac OSX El Capitan.  Can anyone advise a solution?

Hi there,We have a critical bug that was identified in 21.0.0.182.We were provided a BETA version (21.0.0.191) and the issue was fixed.We thought we were OK and just needed Adobe to release this fix to the public.21.0.0.197 was released, however we have found that this version did not resolve the issues!Why was it OK in 191, but not in 197?I just downloaded the latest BETA which is 21.0.0.204, and the issues are fixed.So what is different to v 191 and v 197?And what is different to v 197 and v 204?I hope we do not have to wait another two weeks to get this issue resolved and released to the public.What happens if it gets released to the public again, but we find that the publicly available version hasn't addressed it, despite the BETA versions providing a positive result ??

I use it on Firefox, I have the latest version of it (45.0.1), and I am using Windows 7.When I go to download the newest version of Flash Player from the Adobe.com website, it shows it as being version 21.0.0.197 (which I currently have) instead of version 21.0.0.213.I can't figure out why? Both my own account and my wife's are set up as "administrator" accounts. Within my own account and the Edge browser, Flash Player is working fine and running the Adobe test shows it is active. I've been having multiple issues with flash player and Firefox for a long time but more often now since the latest update.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled it thinking that it might help but am still having the same problems.  Like someone else said, when I open Task manager, there are 2 flash players showing but only 1 flash player installed if I look at programs installed in the control panel.  When flash player is running, it continues to use more and more memory the longer it is on until whatever I'm doing basically stops responding or it might as well because it has slowed everything down to a crawl.  That is my biggest problem - when flash player is running, my computer slows down to a ridiculous level to where it takes forever to do anything.  I play games on Facebook and while one game plays fine using flash player, the other one has some video ads running and it won't play well enough for me to even bother anymore.  I don't know if s.yimg.com i
