Hello ,Having just 'upgraded' to FM12, I am re-installing my plug-ins.Unfortunately most have been wiped off the company server so I went to ElectroPubs website to download Clean Import, and it seems they have disappeared.They must be somewhere, right?

Compile the  struct samples in FDK112.Open with “Framemaker11” 3.Insert characters as below in FM114.Some of characters shows as “?” （eg： ）。 Also ， after save and close， reopen it， some of the characters shows as “?” too. Please help me solve the problem, so that we will not show “?” after reopen it.

HiI have downloaded the TCS 5 trial verison for evaluation purpose. i am trying to open my existing FM11 files in FM12 but it gets to "Not Responding" mode. The FM11 doc has plain text in various formats and nothing fancy. Can somebody please help?Thanks in advance.Sreekanth

Hi all,This just started in one document.My step numbers are not resetting. Usually, if I have a set of steps, then a new section with a heading tag like h1, h2, or h3, the next time I use my step paragraph tags, the steps start at 1. Now, after a new heading tag, the steps just keep incrementing. Not in the whole document, just parts. I inherited this template. All steps are step1. The autonumber format for my step1 is S:< >< ><n+>\tIn a related problem, I use step2 for a, b, and c steps between the numbered steps. That tag is doing the same thing. In one section they go a, b, c. Two heading tags later, they go d, e, f. The autonumber format for my step2 is F:< >< >< ><a+>: For troubleshooting, I've saved the file as MIF, and saved it back again. As Art suggested in another post,  I looked for a culprit in between the sets of steps and found nothing. Thanks,Carl

We just ran afoul of the issue described here:http://forums.adobe.com/message/5927558With the Frame 12 install corrupting our previously installed version of Acrobat Pro 9. Now we are poised to follow the instructions there, which indicate we need to uninstall FM, uninstall Acrobat, reinstall Acrobat, then reinstall FM.We have Acrobat Pro 9 and would prefer not to upgrade at this time. So, before we start jumping thru these hoops, can anyone confirm that FrameMaker 12 is in fact compatible with Acrobat Pro 9?Thanks in advance for your time and help.

Hi,I generated a pdf file using Adobe FrameMaker 11. After the pdf is generated, the title field in the Document Properties window (File > Properties) displays as "Untitled" instead of the original file name. How do i retain the same title name as the file name?Please help.

Upgraded from Frame 8 to Frame 11, three books print to PDF just fine, one won't. Frame crashes. If I use 'Print' it gives me a log file, but 'Save as PDF' just crashes, no log file. Individual chapters won't print either. Similar to EMTtechwriter's problem, but even worse since chapters won't print. Any clues? Thanks.

OK, in this very particular case I could be result-driven and replace Name touch in the cross-references with Name touch. Hi,(FM 11, Win XP)When you query ComponentType for an FM document book component, you get hexadecimal 0x200 which happens to equal Constants.FV_BK_FILE. However, the documentation says that this property should return one of:• Constants.FV_BK_FOLDER (0x02) - Folder• Constants.FV_BK_GROUP (0x40) - Group• Constants.FV_BK_FM (0x8) - FrameMaker document• Constants.FV_BK_MIF (0x10) - MIF document• Constants.FV_BK_XML (0x20) - XML documentGiven the supposed MIF and XML options, I'm not sure if there is a bug in ES or if the documentation is just wrong. Hello ,FM11/TCS4, W7.Recently FM will not print to pdf if the document contains too large graphics.I place a graphic in an anchored frame and if a large portion of it is cropped by the frame, FM comes up with the old 'Cannot print some imported images. Click OK to continue.' Clicking OK just brings up 'An error occurred while printing.' and the job cancels.The only solution is to crop the illustration in an external program.Any one else experienced this?

When I create a parts list from tab delimited text, the " (quote) symbol moves to the next column when it is the last character in a column. I noticed this when I changed to Windows 7 using Frame 7.2, the problem also occurs in Frame 11. My process starts with a text file of a parts list; the text is imported into Access and the output save as a table in an.rtf file. I copy the table text from the .rtf file and past it (paste special, text) into FrameMaker. I select the text and convert the text to a table using a table format I created for this process. The " symbols stays in the correct column each step of the way until I paste the text into a Frame document, the " symbol moves to the other side of the tab symbol. The process has been working fine for years up until I upgraded to Windows 7.As a test I've converted the rtf table to tab delimited text and the " symbol is on the left side of the tab symbol; when I copy and paste the text into Frame the " symbol is on the right side of t

On the Master Pages of each file within a book, I am trying to find a way to insert a Running H/F variable that would import a value from the Title page.In other words, when the value is updated and saved on the Title page, the variable value in every file within that book would update as well.Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

I have a book which uses a numbering scheme of chapter.page. Each chapter starts again at page 1 (for example 12.1, 5.2, etc.). When I create an index, it is using only the page number, so I end up with multiple page 1 listings, page 2 listings, etc. How do I edit the numbering scheme of the index entries? It is not done in the paragraph designer as is done in the individual chapters, so I am not sure where to look.I am using Framemaker 10.

I have FM9, Windows7 Professional 6.1. One doc has landscape pages, but when I save to PDF I get portrait pages cropped left and right.I reinstalled FM9, got the updates (which weren't in the download of FM9 -- whyever not?), and I got the right orientation once. Next day, back to portrait for these landscape pages. Today I tried to install FM12 as a trial, but it won't. I get to the "Currently Installing Adode PDF Creatino Add-on XI" and that's where it stops, 42% complete. So that won't be any help. I was hoping FM12 would not have this problem.

Hi,I have seen this problem reported before and contacted Adobe Support for a solution. We were provided a workaround that is NOT efficient where we basically create the same book in a new folder; this works for a couple of saves and then we're back to crashes. We have over 20 FM users, and the problem seems to be spreading among several of us. I am very disappointed at the level of response. Last update I received from Support was that our FM book was passed to R&D. It has been at least 2 months since then, and I have not seen any resolution.About a month ago, another person contacted me and asked me for a convenient time for a phone discussion. I have supplied several options and sent reminders, but I have not heard from anyone since then.This is highly disappointing. HIWe made  a document on a pc with many images and text box and when we open it on otehr pc the tes in the box doesnt appear we lost the last word or last section of the text in the box.How can we fix that?Thanks

I'm trying to add tables to the tops of pages and at the tops of columns. When I insert the table, however, it always drops down to the line below. I must then manipulate the font size of the line above it so that my columns are close to even across the top. Then, if later on I change the text I'm left with fixing the 2 point font size. It's annoying and time consuming. Surely there is a way to add the table at the insertion point. Surely?

I've recently started experiencing a strange phenomenon. I put an image into an anchored frame on its own paragraph and set it to At Insertion Point.In the past, if I wanted to hide part of the image, I resize the frame so that it is smaller than the image. But recently, when I do that, the part of the picture that should have been hidden shows outside the frame, as shown in the example below. I want to hide the bottom part of the image, but it hangs out of the frame.Does anyone know what to do to fix this?I just printed the page, and it printed correctly with the bottom part of the image not showing. So this seems like a monitor or screen aberration.

Not sure if this is a bug or a feature.  I wanted to use the chapter title name in the footer of my master pages so I went to the master page, deleted some static text i found there then tried to add the building block <$chaptertitlename> but what i got was the short file name instead.  Is there a fix for this?

How do I use an existing TOC template (included with my software) to create a table of contents.  I know how to generate a TOC but not how to "import" the toc template.

Hi...I think I know the answer to this, but is it possible to control table row or cell properties (like shading, padding, borders, etc) through context rules in an EDD? I'm not aware of any way to do this, but thought I'd toss it out there to be sure.Would love to hear that I'm wrong.Cheers,...scott

can anyone help create variable for page number RunningH/F for every other page blank? I have created one but need a variable for the BLANK page number to be added automatically (like the current page number)!  I do not want to build a page number manually for each page simply because I can not get the blank page number to automatically be added incrementally.  They need to look like.......FO-1/(FO-2 blank), FO-3/(FO-4 blank), FO-5/(FO-6 blank), etc.

Sometimes it's just a crash, sometimes I get Internal error 11024, 18319245, 15830943, 1583335.I'm guessing one of the files is corrupted? What can I do? How do I troubleshoot this?Thanks in advance,Carl
