FrameMaker

 When I select Package in FM 2019, a zip folder is created. The files in that zip folder no longer have "Date modified" associated with them. Or, all files in a package is changed to 1979-12-31 AM 12:00:00 Attached is a sample. Is there a way to prevent this? - Thanks   

Hello! I would like to create a frame on the reference page with a text and every time I used this frame on the body page I would only bring it via the paragraph designer, until this part it's easy to do. But I would like to be able to change the text of this frame every new use.

Hi folks, I've a text frame that is cutting the text. How to resolve it?

I have dita content with <row rowsep="0"> elements. On import to FrameMaker, the bottom row border is suppressed as I would expect, but the rowsep attribute value in FrameMaker is not kept. I need this value for further processing in ExtendScript. Is there a way to preserve these value in FrameMaker, perhaps through a Read/Write rule? Thank  you.

I created mulitple grahics in Illustrator (CMYK) - using turquoise green and emerald green. Then I import into Framemaker and my turquoise is regular green and my green is neon green (RGB display). How do I view my document in CMYK. This neon green is annoying, not accurate and is hard to work with (hard on the eyes, I had to turn down the brightness of my monitor). Not to mention it really distorted the design (it's ugly) on the screen. The pdf is correct. Ridiculous! How do I fix this?

Liebe FrameMaker, Anfang des Jahres hatten wir bei uns ein ungewöhnliches Phenomen: Von heute auf Morgen konnten sich unsere Anwender nicht mehr in FrameMaker 2017 mehr einloggen und damit arbeiten. Man erhielt folgende Meldung:In der Adobe Admin Console (Admin Console (adobe.com)) haben wir keine Veränderungen durchgeführt, die User waren noch alle aktiviert und mit einer FM Lizenz ausgestattet. Erst nach dem wir die User in der Adobe Admin Console entfernt hatten und wieder neu hinzugefügt haben, konnten sich die User wieder anmelden. Jedoch wurde danach automatisch FM 2020 heruntergeladen und installiert. Ein Loginversuche bei FM2017 wurden mit der obigen Fehlermeldung quittiert.Ist das auch bei anderen FM Benutzern passiert, deren Zugang über das Adobe Admin Console gemanaged wird?Ich freue mich auf Rückmeldung.

On 1/29/2021 I entered a bug about 2 default conditional tags (which cannot be removed) in FrameMaker 2020:FM_PDF_Comments_HighlightFM_PDF_Comments_UnderlineWhere I work we heavily use conditional tags and having 2 that cannot be removed is not acceptable (which is why we have remained on FM 2019). I have posted about this roughly 5 to 6 months ago where I was told it would be in the next release, but my bug is still listed with a status of Open.The bug has 18 votes from other users who also want this fixed. Hello everyone,i have a problem when i print cropmarked PDF it came out with most of  Registration marks but not the cropmarks (the lines), it appears when i print through "Publish" or "Save as PDF", but the thing is these methods makes my file corrpted (fonts and colors,....), so the only way i have is through "Print" and choose "Western" and fix the page size so the cropmaks would appears like the image below: is there any solution for this issue? 

I'm working on a project for which the files have to stay on my company's server. When I try to save a FM (2020) file as .rtf, Framemaker quits responding and I have to force quit. It seems to start creating the the rtf file but that file won't open (error says it may be corrupt). Are there certain approaches I need to be taking when working in FM on a network server, and/or can someone help me with the words I'll need to get help from company tech support, who will know nothing about Framemaker itself. Thanks!

Hi,I am publishing a book that has multiple chapters grouped in seperate folders. When I publish the book, the bookmark does not include the Folder Name and thus all chapters come in continuation withoud grouping. Is there a way to include the folder names in the bookmarks?

Are there release notes or a compatibility matrix that indicates which versions of ESTK are compatible with versions of FM? Specifically, will the "AdobeExtendScriptToolkit_4_LS22.exe" version interface with FM 11 or FM 14? The version I have installed hangs after processing a large number of paragraphs. I'm hoping a newer version fixes the problem.

I have a large book with some spare parts lists. I want to print each FM file as a separate pdf, and can do that using the Print Selected Feature. I would like, however, to override the naming prompt and just have FM print the files with the name it has chosen anyway.Is that possible?/Bjørn

Hi, I am using AEM and FMPS. I am specifying a ditaval file in AEM. I need to postprocess the FrameMaker book with ExtendScript and I need to know which ditaval file was specified in AEM. Any ideas on where I can grab this information? Perhaps from a log or registry entry, etc. Thanks in advance.

Hello Folks, So! I'm going through a challenge! I have a TOC for each chapter and more than 10 chapter. I would like that all TOC pages have the pagination number has: Chapter.TOC.PageTOCNumber and the chapter have Chapter.PageNumber both starting in page 1. Any suggestion?

Hello,My client has asked for a couple of impossible things. The one I haven't explored except superficially (yesterday).My client wants to exclude the chapter numbering for specific instances of 3rd level titles.I have my own opinion, but my job is to give the client what they want (or have a very good explanation of why I can't).I thought of using a variable in the title element to indicate instances that do not get numbered. I muddled about with the EDD without success (in fact I managed at one point to remove all content from the PDF output).Does anyone have suggestions for how I could do this?FrameMaker 16.0.3DITA 1.3

In a DITA task, whenever I add a <fig> element with a <title> to a step via an <info> element, FrameMaker assigns the step.info.begin paragrah format to <title>. In order for FrameMaker to assign the the figure.title paragraph format (which has numbering) to <title>, I need to add a <p> above <fig>.  This also affect the PDF output. Is there anyway I can get the numbering to appear without adding an empty <p> tag before <fig> or editing the EDD?   

Dear all,Our site currently uses FrameMaker 12, and we're looking at updating to FrameMaker 16 (2020); I'll call it FM2020 for brevity.We have a number of dependencies for the project to succeed, and one of them is FrameScript. In order to use FrameScript in FM2020, I believe we'll need FrameScript 7.However, when I went to framescript.com, I got a [[403 Forbidden]] error. A web search gave an unfamiliar site framescr.com as the top match, so I had a look there. It's a strange mixture of secure and unsecure pages, for which I got warnings in the browser. They only accept checks or PayPal as payment. There's no evaluation version available. Does anyone have any thoughts on this, please?

I've been using WebWorks to take my user guide content from FrameMaker and convert it to HTML online help. Can I take FM content and use it directly in RoboHelp somehow, or is there a more elegant solution? I'd rather stick with the Tech Comm suite. Thanks.

I have a perpetual license of Framemaker 2017 and am looking to add a license. Is it possible to buy another 2017 seat? From what can see on the website I can only buy the latest (doesn't state the version). If I can't buy 2017 then can I at least work on and save as FM2017 format on the latest version of the tool?

Hi Adobe Support Community gals & guys, I have a problem with my index being published in HTML5 format but not in pdf output.I created an index in DITA and tested it publishing in HTML 5 and pdf. It appears as designed when published in HTML5 (see below):However, in the PDF output, I get only an empty index page (see below).I am using metadata and keywords elements in the prolog part:Or my my code is:<prolog><metadata><keywords><indexterm>help</indexterm></keywords></metadata></prolog> My test example is a simple ditamap file with 4 xml files containing metadata.I am running FM version 16.0.2.916 and using DITA / Structural FM. Tried testing also with the default.sts file and the result was the same (the empty index page). Maybe some update to the output template IndexTpl.fm should be done. When I opened in FM, it appears exactly as shown in the pdf output - an empty page with a title Index. Any
