Re: Proxies not working properly with CUDAOpen for Voting

When you are coding effects at the level that Premiere does, you can't compare to the prosumer stuff. Even though a couple of them now have a few pretty spiffy/splashy things they do, everything that Premiere does would have to be set for the odd processing involved in VFR. And VFR is a capture thing ... it cuts down on the frames needed to be encoded to the file, just like the long-GOP process cuts down on the pixel data being encoded to file. And in both cases, the playback device then does a ton more work to make it not obvious. So ... can it be done? I would expect it could. But the next question ... given everything else that people want Premiere to start doing, and the constant upgrading to work with newer hardware, dump code for older not-used hardware, all that constant never ending process ... priorities are needed. And would handling VFR better take precedence over 55 or 60 other things? For some users, yes, of course. For the majority of the user base ... maybe not so much.  It's rather like a lot of the upper-end colorist stuff I would like to get in Premiere. Yes, the devs know that for a few of their users like me, it would be an awesome addition. But the vast majority of their users, they'd never use it ... so ... I've been told it wouldn't be wise to hold my breath even for something really awesome for some higher-end workflows. As a long-time self-employed business person, I had to make a lot of decisions I did not like making at all. But the data were clear, and I needed to make changes at times dropping a photo style I loved doing. For instance. But things change all the time. So ... maybe at some point, VFR would be a natural fit and welcomed by enough users to be worth the major effort it would take to fully support it 'natively'.

Allow Scrolling while dragging item in Project WindowOpen for Voting

Hi there, would it be possible at all to allow scrolling while dragging items in the project window? Currently the only way to get the project window to scroll while holding an item is to hold your cursor at a very specific spot (that isn't really overly clear at all) and then just pray it moves at the correct speed and doesn't move at either the speed of a snail or completely teleport to the top/bottom. Organising large projects is really important and sometimes it really does just feel like I'm fighting premiere to get it done and the only way to get on with my day is manually close all bins that aren't the bin I'm after. Allowing mouse wheel scrolling would allow the user to more naturally search for the bin they're after in the list and place a file where they want it to be. In the same vein I feel like `Shift + MouseWheel` should allow the user to scroll horizontally in the project window as well, but that might be a discussion for another post. I'm unsure if this is maybe disabled due to the icon/freeform view? I can't imagine why it'd be an issue there but I never use those views so that could just be on me.Here's a video showcasing how bonkers it can feel sometimes; gdrive link1. Version: 25.52. Platform and OS version: Windows 11 10.0.26100 Build 261003. Steps to reproduce: Have large project, attempt to move file from one end of the project window to the other...4. Expected result and actual result: Scrolling with the mouse wheel should scroll in the desired direction, allowing the user to more naturally navigate the UI. Currently, scrolling while dragging something in premiere does nothing

P: View of "Storage Usage" in LightroomOpen for Voting

Adobe “Essentials” for Long-Time UsersOpen for Voting

Adobe “Essentials” for Long-Time Users Subject: Proposal for Adobe “Essentials” Versions of Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign Dear Adobe Team, I have been an Adobe customer for decades and continue to use Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign almost daily on a part time basis. I’m 73 years old and semi-retired, but I still design logos, ads, brochures, and identities for national and local clients. Adobe remains the clear pathway for producing professional files for print and advertising. My challenge is that Creative Cloud has become increasingly focused on AI, social media, and features I don’t use. At this stage of my career, I don’t need every update or the full Creative Cloud suite. What I value most is stability, file compatibility, and the essential tools I’ve used for years. I would like to suggest that Adobe consider releasing “Essentials” versions of Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign: Core tools only – logo, layout, photo editing, type, and print prep. No AI, social, or cloud extras – just the essentials that made Adobe great. Lower cost – affordable for semi-retired designers, educators, and hobbyists who want to stay in the Adobe ecosystem but don’t need every advanced feature. This would help long-time loyal users like me continue with Adobe, rather than being forced to look at alternatives with steep learning curves like Affinity Suite. It would also allow Adobe to retain a community of older professionals who still advocate for your products. Thank you for considering this idea. I hope Adobe can offer an “Essentials” path for those of us who want to stay in the family, even as our professional needs and budgets change. Sincerely,Steve Hall  [Personal information removed by moderator.]
