In AI on iPad, the pencil has always "Keep selected" on, and cannot be turned off. With that, the pencil cannot be used for writing, since e.g. crossing a t is taken as a correction to the (live) stem of t, and gives a mess. Even in the regular AI, the pencil "Keep selected" should be off by default, since the pencil is used much more for drawing new things than for corrections. It should be possible to turn the pencil "Keep selected" off in AI on the iPad, so as to make the pencil usable.Especially since iPads have very nice pencils... That would be the single most important change to AI on iPad, and everyone seems to ask for it.
The Illustrator app will not sign in and it just gives me the spinning wheel. I've checked the internet connection, re-downloaded the app, signed out of creative cloud and re-signed in. All of the other apps work, just not illustrator. Please help.
Until this new update, I was really enjoying creating stuff on my iPad. As someone with a severe physical disability, I felt good that the pencil tool was a lot "tighter" and did great for me when I drew things but now it feels so much more free flow since this update. It doesn't arch the same way or be straight as it was. Maybe it's been slackened off too much; I need that wee bit more tightness and control that it had before. I don't know what it's even called or what's changed but for me, it feels completely different than before. I don't know how to fix it. If someone can help and let me know how to fix this, I would be grateful 😇 I'm on iOS 14.6 and illustrator iPad version 1.3
I have a font that I am trying to install on my iPad Illustrator. The font is a .ttf and should be fine to install. For some reason, the software goes through the process of installing the font, and even shows me that it was successfully installed, but i cannot find the font in the Illustrator Drop-Down menu. I have also installed the font on the Creative Cloud (Desktop Version) and this works fine as I am able to use the font across all of the Adobe Desktop Apps. I just cannot seem to get the font to recognize on teh iPad apps. Please help.
Photoshop has features that Illustrator doesn't. On the Ipad air is there a way to open Photoshop files in illustrator?
No idea why this is happening, is it a bug? Is it me?? It hasn't happened with previous file exports. There is a colour glitch/change to part of my artwork when I save my file as a JPEG on my iPad pro. Please see screenshots of the problem. a) As the artwork appears as I created it on the Illustrator iPad app b) Colour glitch when my artwork is exported to a file as a JPEG on my iPad. I have tried to re-save it umpteen times to no avail. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and is there a way to solve it please?
I am trying to join paths but I am having trouble. Can someone help? When I try to select the points, I don't have the option to "join paths" how can I manually join them?
Hi this query is regarding pasting an object to an exact location . I want to type in the exact pixel location but when I do it on the iPad the position keeps auto adjusting to the 2nd or 1st decimal place .Can i just not have a manual location adjust instead of it trying to guess for me ! ?
None of my tools on illustrator work. I can open the tools, change the colors, etc. but when I go to actually edit my document nothing happens. I have tried: uninstalling and re-installing illustrator multiple times; turning my iPad off and leaving it off for 10 minutes; uninstalling, turning off and on, reinstalling. I have contacted Adobe support. When I contact by phone I am told "let me look into it" and I get silenced for 15 minutes + with no answer to "are you still there?". when I contacted by messaging support they told me to post here, and then the chat got disconnected. I have not been able to edit or use any tools since 5/26/21. I can open new docs., old docs., but cannot edit.
Hey, is there a way to change the color mode CMYK to RGB on the Ipad? If not Adobe should update that please.
I tried to work on the iPad instead of the desktop, but the Illustrator apps show icon fonts were missing. I spent a few hours finding out the solution, but there was no way to add custom fonts such as Fontawesome icon fonts. Please help me to find out how to do it.If it is not available now, when should I expect it?Just like the Creative Cloud's "Add fonts" of the desktop version
just updated today and the brush feels very differentafter finishing a line it would automatically smooth out after - now it doesn't tried to increase "smoothing" and all it does is make the brush slowerurgently need to finish a project, please someone help, thank you !
There is an option in the Adobe Draw app on the iPad to import the file to Adobe Illustrator on the iPad. When I click on this option I have no idea how to find the file from the Draw app. Am I looking in a totally wrong place for the imported Draw file? I am logged into both Draw and I Illustrator on the same Adobe accounts. Please help me, I've spent hours trying to figure out what I am doing wrong.
I created some color swatches on the iPad Illustrator but I don't see an option to save them to the cloud. Am I missing something? Will this feature be available in the future? Your help is appreciated!
Just updated my app and am having a ton of issues. Before I would keep my smoothness setting around 5 and it would keep my lines smooth and even. I wouldn't have any issues with my shakey hands. Now, to even notice a differnece, I have to bump it up to 70+ to even notice a smoothing of the line. However, changing it to 70+ makes the line draw incredibly slow and crashes the app. Is this an error that will be fixed? Is anyone else having this problem?
I have searched Youtube and Google without finding any answer to this.I have discovered this function in the app letting you convert vector paths to guides.I just don't understand what it's for?Is it like some kind of "homemade" curved rulers? Is it a kind of tracing tool?Could you please help me with a link to a video or page that shows how and why?Thank you very much!
hello,i want to draw with illustrator on the ipad pro, and these drawings i want to engrave with a cnc milling machine (engrave not cut). Is this without problems possible or is there some problems with the app about the vectors etc.greetings and thanks for the amazing community here
It seems like there should be some way of doing it with Touch?
Some of the most eagerly awaited features have now made their way into the Illustrator on iPad 1.3 update. Download the app now or if you already have the app installed on your device, update to the latest version. Additional Export Controls: new options such as resolution, quality, range of artboards, and more to control your export workflow. To select these options, tap Publish and Export > Export As. Blob Brush Taper & Enhancements: You can now draw smooth and organic paths with the new Taper feature within Blob brush. Transparency Grid: You can use the Transparency grid feature to view shapes and objects that do not contain fill and stroke. Tap View mode > Transparency Grid to view and edit your artwork on a transparent background. Illustrator Template File (.ait) Support:&nb
So recently I just started having issues with Illustrator on my iPad. I was working on some designs for a friend, as it crashed on me. After getting back in, I hit the one layer I was on to wrap up but instead it crashes on me again. Figuring it was some issue with the work, I deleted it and tried other work I had but it did the same: Tap on the layer and it crashes. My next idea was to delete the app and download it again then log back in. After that, came restarting my tablet and that didn't work. After some time, I stored my work and deleted all my work form storage for more space (figuring that was the problem). So far it still happens, as I am still seeing myself tapping the layer and watching Illustrator crash on me. Any ideas on how I can stop that from happening?
I have no desktop, just the iPad, which apparently creates a *.AIC extension (as opposed to the desktop version of Illistrator, which is *.AI) which adobe stock does not accept. Is there a way to upload work created entireky on ipad to adobe stock? Thank you for your answer inadvancel.
Hi, does anybody know, whether there will be possible to work with desktop illustrator exclusivelly on ipad, since new ipads already have 16GB ram...but I guess at this moment this is not possible? I know there is illustrator for tablets but that is not what i mean, i mean the real illustrator with all the functions. Contemplating whether it make sence to invest into desktops when the power is the same with new m1 Ipads. Thanks a lot!!!Eva
Does anyone know if it's possible to export or import a Adobe Comp project into Illustrator on the iPad WITHOUT using CC on the Mac? It would be great to be able to do all of the work directly on the iPad...
I've deleted several objects from the art board itself but they still appear in the layer panel yet are also totally unresponsive to touch and Apple Pencil.
I cannot figure out how to save an ai or pdf file in Illustrator CC with a bleed from the ipad. Help please.
