Illustrator on the iPad

Just updated my app and am having a ton of issues. Before I would keep my smoothness setting around 5 and it would keep my lines smooth and even. I wouldn't have any issues with my shakey hands. Now, to even notice a differnece, I have to bump it up to 70+ to even notice a smoothing of the line. However, changing it to 70+ makes the line draw incredibly slow and crashes the app. Is this an error that will be fixed? Is anyone else having this problem?

I have searched Youtube and Google without finding any answer to this.I have discovered this function in the app letting you convert vector paths to guides.I just don't understand what it's for?Is it like some kind of "homemade" curved rulers?Is it a kind of tracing tool?Could you please help me with a link to a video or page that shows how and why?Thank you very much! 

hello,i want to draw with illustrator on the ipad pro, and these drawings i want to engrave with a cnc milling machine (engrave not cut). Is this without problems possible or is there some problems with the app about the vectors etc.greetings and thanks for the amazing community here

So recently I just started having issues with Illustrator on my iPad. I was working on some designs for a friend, as it crashed on me. After getting back in, I hit the one layer I was on to wrap up but instead it crashes on me again. Figuring it was some issue with the work, I deleted it and tried other work I had but it did the same: Tap on the layer and it crashes. My next idea was to delete the app and download it again then log back in. After that, came restarting my tablet and that didn't work. After some time, I stored my work and deleted all my work form storage for more space (figuring that was the problem). So far it still happens, as I am still seeing myself tapping the layer and watching Illustrator crash on me. Any ideas on how I can stop that from happening?

I have no desktop, just the iPad, which apparently creates a *.AIC extension (as opposed to the desktop version of Illistrator, which is *.AI) which adobe stock does not accept. Is there a way to upload work created entireky on ipad to adobe stock? Thank you for your answer inadvancel. 

Hi, does anybody know, whether there will be possible to work with desktop illustrator exclusivelly on ipad, since new ipads already have 16GB ram...but I guess at this moment this is not possible? I know there is illustrator for tablets but that is not what i mean, i mean the real illustrator with all the functions. Contemplating whether it make sence to invest into desktops when the power is the same with new m1 Ipads.Thanks a lot!!!Eva

Does anyone know if it's possible to export or import a Adobe Comp project into Illustrator on the iPad WITHOUT using CC on the Mac? It would be great to be able to do all of the work directly on the iPad...

I've deleted several objects from the art board itself but they still appear in the layer panel yet are also totally unresponsive to touch and Apple Pencil. 

I cannot figure out how to save an ai or pdf file in Illustrator CC with a bleed from the ipad.  Help please.

Hi, Every time I go into one of my drawings and I tap one of the "Draw Layers" in order to move or edit, the app crashes. This has never happened before. I've been using this app for months now and it has been great, but now it won't let me use it at all. Every time I try to tap a "Draw Layer" is crashes, plane and simple and frustrating. I'm using the latest Software Version of the iPad... 14.5.1 and I'm using the latest Version of Adobe Draw... 4.9.6 Please help! Scott

I have the Adobe Illustrator Draw app on my iPad Air 2. I'm able to open projects and use brushes, but whenever I slow double-tap a layer to open the menu of options (opacity, transform, duplicate, and delete), the app crashes. Does anyone know of a solution for this? I tried the app on my iPhone and had the same problem. And unfortunately, my iPad is not on the list of devices compatible with Adobe Fresco. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi, i've recently started using Illustrator on ipad and i understadn there is limited options currently for this, however, can you open 2 or more documents within the app so you can pull a vector from one artboard and drop it into another?  Any info would be great. 

Is there a way to package a file on an ipad?

I'm not sure if it's an issue with the Apple Pencil or the radial gradient tool, I know when you tap between two points it will add an additional color. However when I try to select an existing point, only about 10% of the time will it actually select the existing color node. The other 90% of the time it will just add another color as if i tapped between two color nodes, and not on the existing one! Am I missing some gesture to allow me to just select the existing node or is the tool not functioning correctly? Also I can't get the existing Gradient to clear to start over without creating a brand new document.  Please help! Thank you!

When exporting from iPad Illustrator and then opening the AI file in Illustrator (MacBook Pro), it is not recognized as a vector file and only as a jpg. What the what!?!The image is pixelated and must be image traced to make it a vector image again. Am I doing something wrong here? 

Is there any way to copy a path from illustrator into another program on the ipad?

I have an image that is 6 inches in diameter when I export as svg and load into my machines program the diameter is now 4.5 inches.  What can I do to make sure the size doesn't change? When I export as pdf the file is perfect. 

I just installed Illustrator for the iPad after getting the pencil. I am still learning. The one thing I wanted to start with is to change the properties of the star shape from 5 to 9 points. Easy to do in the full version of Illustrator, but impossible on the iPad. I did not find a property where you can change the number of points to 9. How do I do this specifically? How do I get to the properties for all tools? And how do I get specific help regarding the iPad app from the iPad app without getting lost in the wilderness? I really would like to get a reply to this asap. Thank you.

Hi, I have text in Illustrator on iPad. And I want to convert that text to a path, so I don't have worry about porting over the font to my desktop illustrator (for one thing).  But, I selected the Text layer and if I go to "Combine Shapes > Convert to Path" that is greyed out.  Or if I try Object > Make compound Path, selecting that that brings the message "Cannont Convert to Compound Path" So how do I convert my text to a path/outline?   

Hello all,when I create an action, this involves creating and naming layers the action is interrupted when playing the action, as I would have to press the enter key. The layers are then also not renamed. Could I create a script here to rename the layers automatically?
