InCopy

Our organization has adopted Box as it's cloud platform and my design team uses it to share/collaborate on all projects. There seems to be plenty of documentation and tips on integrating Dropbox and InCopy, but no mention of Box. Help!

I'm not exactly familiar with InCopy so here's the thing. I created several Master Pages for a magazine in InDesign and I want to make it a template so for every new issue I can easily create a new document from that template. Now is there a way to do the same thing with InCopy? Can I link InCopy to the Master Pages, for example, on the master page for interviews, and tell InDesign/InCopy to create a new InCopy Document whenever I use the Master Page on a normal page? What is the workflow here?

Besides complete CC accounts we have two licenses for only InCopy.The Creative Cloud app (updated) on their Macs (Sierra) does not offer an update for InCopy2017 to InCopy2018.InCopy 2017 does not open an InDesign 2018 file.Our workaround is at the moment that the InCopy users open the .icma file.But this method has some issues.How do these two accounts install InCopy 2018?

Incopy users cannot check out assignment. The assignments appear updated on their screen but there is no little icon on the corner of the text block showing the status and any change they do in the text cannot be checked in either then. We use the last updated version (me on inDesign and them on InCopy).I tried relinking the stories through the assignment panel on their incopy but they are linked properly already.We use Google rive. Everything is save or exported on the drive.Any idea what it could be?Thanks for your help

Does anyone have experience with Type on a Path in InCopy? I am able to add the paths to the InCopy assignment, they are visible in InCopy but then aren't able to be edited. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!Ben

My team recently updated across the board to CC 2018. The designers updated first to InDesign and the editors followed with the update to InCopy. Immediately after installing InCopy CC 2018, I noticed the InDesign files on our server were appearing as CS 5.5 InDesign files. I contacted support about it, and the fix was to install InDesign on my computer and open all the design files and resave them. I didn't need to do that. As soon as InDesign was installed, all the files appeared as the newest versions. However, I immediately uninstalled InDesign because I'm an editor and don't need access to it. After uninstalling, all the files reverted back to CS 5.5 icons. We haven't had any compatibility issues, but it is a future concern because my computer thinks they are CS 5.5 files. I would hate for an update to be made that would cause corruption because the new programs couldn't read the old file types. I'm rather new to InCopy so I'm going to explain this the best I can, but I may not have all the correct terminology here. I'm having the following issue:Our designer took an existing indesign file and packaged the document so we can alter the original product to create another by making minor changes. This is a product that requires the Math editor/reader plugin produced by Movemen. The designer exported the duplicated file to InCopy and I've made changes to the package file using InCopy. On certain files, not all, when I tried to "Save Content" or check in, InCopy would freeze (my cursor would be spinnging/thinking indefinitely) and I would have to force close the program. When I reopened the program and reopened the file I was working in some pages in the file would be blank (content gone) and I'd get this error message "Found corrupted MathZone={732,819} at [-1] for story={UID:178918,"Has anyone encountered this or know how I can resolve this issue?

Editors using Incopy CC 18 get an error if they try to open am .indd file that designers have open in InDesign CC18. The whole point of InCopy for us is so that editors can work on files that designers are using. It only happens on files with .idlk files indicating it is open in InDesign. This did not happen before our upgrade to CC18.Also when designers export multiple stories on one page to Incopy it automatically exports everyting with the file name as the first line, but then asks if we want to replace the .icml file it just auto-saved.

Text wrapping is not working properly when creating a new note in InCopy, nor does it work on an existing note. The text will jump to the next line after 61 characters, unless the window is configured for a larger number of characters. This occurs both with and without spaces. Please advise.

I have all the settings correct, but the Track Changes aren't showing. It hasn't been working correctly since this version was installed, Adobe CC 2017.0 release, 12.0.0.81. Anyone else experience this? - Theresa

Hi,I'm not sure of the correct terminology, so please forgive my explanation.I've been having an ongoing problem with InCopy that is steadily getting worse. It started when I lost the 'Gallery and Story Appearance' bar at the bottom of the screen. Although, 'lost' is the wrong word, it's still there, it's just a blank panel. The same problem has now afflicted the Paragraph Styles and Table Cell Styles panels. They are still there but information is not showing.I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling; uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling; changing screen resolution, all sorts, but nothing seems to fix it.Has anybody experienced this and if so, what did you do to resolve it?Many thanks,Alex

Is there a way to use InCopy track changes to mark changes in character styles?

I'd like to make my clients use Incopy to collaborate on some documents. The fonts in use are from Typekit.Does a standard sole Incopy license come with Typekit support so my client can see the right fonts while editing the text in my Indesign files?Or would this require an extra subscription or seperate font license?The Incopy page does not give details, other than an asterisk that does not refer to anything on the page.InCopy CC vs. CS6 versions | Adobe InCopy CC history

Hi, I am using the latest version of incopy  / indesign, and for the life of me, I can't work out why the text wrap won't display correctly in incopy. The editorial just sits behind the picture, not giving the editor a true representation of the layout designed in indesign. I have tried uninstalling / re-installing the programme, and still doesn't work. The files are stored on one drive, so editor uses them remotely, but when I open the files up locally, they still are not showing the text wrap. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Many thanksSteve

We work in Incopy CC2015 and Indesign. The editor updated hyperlinks in a recent assignment but all the changes seem to get lost or even worse these hyperlinks are missing. The hyperlinks were not behind urls but just text.

Hi guys,InCopy users (PC) are seeing only the masters pages of a file generated from a InDesign user (Mac) – instead of the actual pages with the stories.The file is properly setup with a assignment and stories and the whole flow is working fine between Macs (the file):And this is what the PC users are seeing (the master pages and the Portuguese version of "Because this document contains no InCopy stories, Galley View and Story View are not available.")Any ideas?Thanks in advance.Gus

How do I use InCopy with a client at the other end of the country? Lynda.com (online course) says you need to be on the same 'server' as other people using the file but the client is in Birmingham and I am in London. The client tried to share files with me via OneDrive but that didn't work- the file just downloads, I can't work on it inside 'ONd Drive' I managed to contact Adobe about a week ago for a 'chat' but don't seem to be able to find a way to do that now - I just go round in circles on the website. I was supposed to get a transcript of that 'chat' but it never arrived and anyway the person I 'chatted' with didn't have any positive advice. Where do I go from here?

I have an issue with InCopy when create the InCopy file from InDesign. I'm not sure how it's being create and I haven't figure out how to fix it. See the attachment in the red box. This is a body copy but it's looks like each letter has a hard return. .

Creative Cloud Library links show as missing in InCopy on my machine as well as all collaborators. Can see them fine in every other Adobe program, but InCopy shows the icon, a generic filename ("graphic", "Adobe PDF", etc). I am connected to the libraries and can confirm so in all other programs and in browser.When trying to update I receive the "Either the file does not exist, you do not have permission, or the file may be in use by another application", none of which is true.This is really killing the InDesign to InCopy workflow that I worked so hard to implement so I really appreciate any help fixing this. I have talked with Adobe support in India but they haven't been much help. Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it.

I'm using InDesign to create a book and InCopy with a separate user so they can make edits.  When the other user tries to export a PDF from InCopy the photos and vector files are pixelated.  When I do it from InDeisgn they are fine.  Is there a way to adjust the settings in InCopy so they can export a PDF with high-quality images?

Liebe Community,ich hoffe, ihr könnt mir Klarheit verschaffen.Eine .icma-Datei (extern aus InDesign vom iMac, InDesign-Version unbekannt) konnte ich in meinem InCopy CC (Windows 10, reguläre Kaufversion, gekauft im Juli 2017) problemlos öffnen, bearbeiten und speichern. Nur danach sind die Punkte zum Weiterleiten und Senden NICHT auswählbar, d.h. ich kann kein Paket packen und zurücksenden.Alle Punkte der Rubrik, u.a. "Für InDesign zurücksenden und per E-Mail senden" sind NICHT auswählbar und stets grau hinterlegt, egal was ich mache.Was mache ich falsch? Habe ich etwas übersehen?Oder liegt hier ein Kompatibilitätsprobem vor?Der Arbeitsbereich ist auf "Erweitert" und "Vollständige Menüs anzeigen" eingestellt. Hello,At work, we have just moved on to InCopy 2014 and there is one particular bug that is breaking my, and other subs', will to live.When we try to open a story from design, the message 'you must check out the contents of this frame in order to make changes' appears, which is fine and completely expected.However, when you check it out, you can delete, tab, return, squeeze, etc. but you cannot actually write in the text box until you physically click the mouse on the box again.Apart from checking a box out by using the 'file' tab with the mouse, is there a way to make this work as it used to with the previous InCopy we were using (InCopy CS5.5)?ThanksGary

We are just starting to use InCopy at our office and the question has come up--what if someone checks something out, forgets to check it back in, then leaves on vacation? Is there a way for someone else to check it back in? We use laptops here so we would not have access to the hypothetical person's computer. Thanks!

Hello all,we use Incopy with success in our small team but we have a little problem.(All computers are running up to date systems Sierra and the latest Incopy version)Some users don't see all the text in a textbox (little "+" sign on the bottom right of the textbox) and others can see all the text (without any problem) in the .icma document.I had a look in the system language used but it's the same on all computers. May be the trouble comes with a conversion between different units (I don't know...)If someone as an idea where to look for.Thanks
