InDesign

Hello, my student cannot instal Adobe InDesign due to System Incompatibility. He has Windows 11 and powerful computer. Any ideas how to fix this issue? 

Whenever I try and save as my work to my laptop is freezes and I cant close the application unless I close it in task manager. It is version 20.4 InDesign on a windows laptop. It fixed itself for a couple days and now its not working again.

Seems simple, right? And yet this doesn't work (you can see the debugger showing that the contents are "NOTE"), even when I use the more-permissive "==" comparison:

Hallo!Ich möchte ein barrierefreies PDF erstellen. Ich habe in meiner InDesign-Datei einen Absatzrahmen über ein Absatzformat definiert. Außerdem habe ich mit einem Zeichenformat eine Unterstreichung gesetzt.Beide Elemente werden später im PDF mit einer Fehlermeldung angezeigt: „Inhalt weder Artefakt noch getaggter Inhalt“Eigentlich sollten beide Elemente im PDF nicht als grafische Elemente gesehen werden, wenn ich sie über Formate erstelle, aber es funktioniert nicht.Was kann ich tun?Vielen Dank!!!

Hola, la situación es la siguiente, tengo un archivo tamaño carta el cual tengo que pasar 10.3 x 7.1cm, voy a ajustar el diseño para que todo se acomode a ese tamaño, lo que sucede es que tengo 60 pag. y ajustarlo sigue respetando esas 60 pag, lo cual hace que las cajas de texto como que se fusionen y mentengan en esas 60 pag. Hay forma de hacer que genere las paginas necesarias para todo el texto? Gracias quedo atento a sus comentarios, buen día.

I have never had a warning pop up in InDesign before.    "CSXSEvent does not have a constructorDo you want to disable this event handler? " Can you tell me what this means and how to fix it? It looks like InDesign just updated today to 20.4. I am on a Mac (if that is important)

In many — and perhaps all — circumstances, the displayName property of both File and Folder instances will just return an empty string in InDesign 20.4 macOS. (Needless to say, this bug is of unprecedented severity and is already causing countless script breakages.) M.

I'll try to simplify this and add more detail if questions are asked:I have two scripts: Script_A.jsx and Script_B.jsx. Script_A.jsx creates a window and a button on the window runs:#include "Script_B.jsx" That works fine, but I would like to pass the window from Script_A to Script_B so Script_B can check some of the values from the window. Is there a way to do this? Something like:#include "Script_B(win).jsx"or#include "Script_B.jsx {arguments:win}" I realize it could be done by including the functions of Script_B into Script_A and making one massive script, but I'd like to make that my last resort. Thanks in advance!

Hello, We have an InDesign plugin on the marketplace and all our MacOS users who updated to Indesign 20.4 has an error at plugin launch "IOError: I/O error".The error comes from this line that has been in the plugin for 8 years without any issue:xLib = new ExternalObject("lib:\PlugPlugExternalObject");From what I found, this is still the standard way to load this library.I've tried to remove the \ but it did not change anything, at least when building locally. Does anyone else have the same issue since the update ?Is it a known issue ?

Note to all: InDesign 2025 20.4, just rolled out, apparently is breaking a lot of CEP extensions. This includes CEP extensions from third parties as well as Adobe's own standard CEP extensions.The only known workaround at this moment is to downgrade to 20.0.

Bonjour, depuis la mise à jour 20.4 et 20.41 InDesign plante subitement après 5mn de travail (pas e  message d'erreur, je dois quitter InDesign via le gestionnaire de taches). J'ai eu le même problème dans la dernière version d'Illustrator que j'ai résolu en décochant la sauvegarde automatique dans les préférences. Mais dans In Design je n'ai aucune case à décocher. Avez-vous une solution ou bien je dois repasser à la version 20.3.1 qui fonctionnait bien ?(Windows 10 pro Intel i7 avec GEForce RTX 40ti)

There are some commonly used styles that I would like to highlight in a different color to make them easier to find quickly.I was referring to highlighting a particular style when many styles are in the paragraph styles panel.I've searched and I don't think there is a setting for this.

Do I want to get my machine .Can a script in InDesign do it?

After updating to the latest version of InDesign, my file suddenly encountered an issue as shown in the screenshot. The document has 400 pages, but only pages 10–11 are affected. These two pages now display a transparent background and seem to inherit all customizations from the parent page. When exporting to PDF, all content on these two pages disappears completely. I would really appreciate any help to fix this issue. Thank you in advance.

Why is my text disappearing when changing my paragraph style indents?

Hi there Community! I used to be able to use this very handy way of importing swatches from one InDesign doc into another, whereby in 'Swatch Options' you'd choose 'Other Library' and then the document you want to copy/ import swatches from and e voila.I've done this a week or so ago and all worked fine. When trying it yesterday I noticed I can no longer bulk choose swatches by clicking shift/ ctrl - I have to add swatches one by one (very tedious). The 'Add' button is also now missing.A nifty tutorial that describes the method: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aT-4h7BODk Does anyone know why this option is now apparently unavaliable? I'm on Windows and INDD version 20.4TY!

I am using Excel to process the catalog, sort it and turn it into an index.In the catalog these entries with the same name must have appeared in sequential order, although not in the same position.After sorting with Excel, 76 might just be bigger than 1(20)? And then it changed.Can it be set up in Execl to resolve this?Or is there a script in ID to fix it? The catalog looks like this:Overview24Overview 36Overview76Overview120 After sorting in excel, removing duplicates and then merging:It might look like this：(         content followed by ~y      spaces between pages ~(        )Overview　　120 76  24 36 It should be a small page number in front:Overview　　 24 36　76　120 

Hi together, as the title says, it seems that:Folder.execute() does not work anymore with ExtendScript with the recent version of InDesign 2025 v20.4.0.52.It still will work with InDesign v20.3.0.   Steps to Reproduce: Execute the following ExtendScript code from the Scripts panel in InDesign 2025 v20.4.0.52:   //DESCRIPTION:Show Folder of THIS script ( function() { File($.fileName).parent.execute(); }() ); The parent folder of the addressed script file will not show in the Finder. It's clogging up exporting pdfs and such and I can't seem to get it to go away.  I've completely closed down Indesign and then when I reopen it, it starts back up again.
