Indesgin crushes while opening files. It is not "a" file. Randomly some files. ı cannot figure out what is the problem. I was working with those files over a year witout a problem. Crush report is pasted below. I have a 12-page document, divided into three booklets, every parameter set correctly and everything. The preview in Booklet Print is EXACTLY what I need, perfectly re-organized for printing, but when exporting to PDF and reviewing this document the spreads are mismatched from the original booklet structure. Should be 12-1, 2-11, 10-3, etc, and suddenly the final PDF has the end cover on the second booklet, the third page on the 8th, etc.Why is this happening?
Is it possible to move mutliple pages in InDesign scripting with a single move call or do you need to move one page at a time?
Hello,I'm fairly new to InDesign and would appreciate some assistance. I've been attempting to write a script for the past few days.Let's say I have 5 unsaved documents open. What I'd like to achieve is to select a certain number of documents (for example, 2 documents, which may have varying numbers of pages but are of the same size), and merge them into one document. This merged document can either replace one of the original two or be created as a new document. (Additional information: the document size is landscape 297 x 210 mm with 5 mm margins and no facing pages). However, the documents that were merged would need to be closed without being saved. If my expectations are too high, I apologize.Thank you for your assistance!
I've run into this problem before, but forget what caused it.Is there a ghost? It jumps out of nowhere.
I'm stumped and have been trying for hours to fix this issue.I am exporting my Indesign file to a PDF/X-1a:2001 (Print) then importing it into KDP. It's telling me that I have a margin issue, but I'm not seeing it. This is what I'm seeing:KDP:InDesign: Settings:Save settings:Could it have something to do with 'facing pages?'HELP!!!
Trying to package an InDesign file, and fonts aren't going into Document folder. The fonts that won't go happen to also have been Type 1 fonts in the original product (this is an update of said product). They're still listed in the packaging as "embedded." I did replace all fonts with an updated font (Gotham family) in InDesign and in all Illustrator files coming in. I cleared caches (Adobe and Windows). I uninstalled and reinstalled the fonts (and InDesign). I've rebooted each time I've made a change and ensured all Adobe apps were closed for everything I tried. I can only get Gotham Medium to show up in the folder. It keeps saying that I have 4 "incomplete" fonts, which is why I think those Type 1 fonts are interfering, but I can't seem to get rid of them! (Went to Windows folder to get rid of them, and they aren't there, but they do show up in MS Office apps.) I've lost the whole day's work on this... Does anyone have any advice???
It seems like master pages are only good for storing elements; placing them in place in a document seems to cause a lot of problems. How does one avoid parent page items repeating when pages are added or removed? If I have an edited parent item on page 20, then remove page 18, the original item reappears on the new page 19. Or if I add pages before the occurence of the parent item, it will reappear. Folios often duplicate themselves, too. It seems as if a new master page is occurring, often "overprinting." As opposed to placing the master page initially from the master page menu, does dragging the master item from a library avoid this problem? Or copying and pasting in place the master items from the master page?
I'm having trouble using Tamil fonts in ID CS3 (Win10). The glyphs get mixed up and an odd character is placed between the transposed characters, I suppose indicating that something unkind has happened to the ligature. It's probably something to do with Unicode fonts (which I don't understand at all!). I'm using the Nirmala UI font.
Hi all! I keep getting the same error when uploading to KDP showing errors specifically in the first 3 chapters. I am publishing a book that I formatted in InDesign and have previously been able to upload the book successfully to KDP and get an author's copy. Now, once I have made some changes, text only, in some of the InDesign files, it seems that only my first chapter document is causing the error. So, I've tried uploading the book with that chapter removed and it is accepted by KDP. I also created a book with only the first 3 chapters, exported to PDF, and this was accepted by KDP with no errors. Methods I have used to fix the error message: Recreated Chapter 1 InDesign file with an existing template used for all of the other files - AND by using a file for a random chapter that wasn't flagged. Exported in various PDF versions. PDF/X -1a, High Quality, Press Quality, etc.Created a new Word/RTX file for the first chapter and re-copied/pasted the contents. An
What is the easiest way to get every time a specifc word appears to be capitilized (first letter only)?
Hi All, Not sure if the problem is with osx or indesign. Placing dialog used to work; not anymore after updating osx when placing images into indesign (commmand d) then selecting images in the finder like window (technically speaking this might be the ilifemdiabrowser plugin from apple) , i cannot access the photos library album strucutre anymore (it used to be a seperate menue on top in the dialog box. When going to movies (filme) i do get the menu where i can choose the subfolders, with images (bilder) it does not work. Further, when trying to choose media (top menu on placing window) it cant access it. I suppose it is some kind of issue with adobe not getting access to the os photos system. I tried solving it in the mac settings, but it is not possible to grant indesign access to the photos library. When installing indesign i got a message asking if indesign could access downloads and desktop, but it didnt ask for other folders or places. Same issue with ph

I'm working on a document with both english and hebrew text. When splitting the hebrew text into columns, it works well - splitting from left to right,But when splitting the english text, it refuses to split from left to right.Even if I selected the correct language and paragraph direction
Hello! I have a file stored in the cloud, and I tried to save a copy to my local drive, but it crashes the app every time. When I try downloading it directly from the Creative Cloud app, I get a file — but it won’t open. The file works perfectly when opened from the cloud. Any idea why this might be happening?
Style Packs don't save to the Custom Tab in the Style Packs Panel. They save as a style pack group in Paragraph Styles. But this is useless to share across documents if you save this group to a CC Library It loses its Style Pack grouping and becomes individual paragraph styles. Using InDesign 2024 (19.4) English Noted this is in parts of other posts but seems to be associated with other issues. The Style parks are working as suggested it is just this lack of portability that I am having issues with.
Activated fonts are not appearing in the "Find/Replace" Fonts menu. They are listed in the character menu and appear correctly in the document, but are unavailable for a global replacement.Adobe will not allow me to place the png's I've made of the menus.
I'm working on a multi-page document in InDesign and keep encountering overset text issues across several text frames. I’ve tried resizing the text boxes and adjusting the font size, but the problem persists, especially when linked across pages. How can I efficiently locate and fix overset text throughout the entire document without manually checking each page? Is there a better way to automate or streamline this process?
Adobe Case ADB-39925821-R4P1 CRM:02760000005075 Subject: Urgent: Critical InDesign Failures Threatening My Business — Immediate Escalation Required Dear Adobe Support Team, As a long-standing Adobe customer and professional designer, I am compelled to express my extreme frustration and concern regarding the ongoing malfunction of InDesign since Monday. The application crashes repeatedly, corrupts my files, and has effectively halted my work — putting my business, reputation, and ongoing contracts at severe risk. I was expected to deliver my work to a client yesterday, but due to these technical issues, I was unable to meet that deadline. The timing is now even more critical, as I am preparing for an extremely important press conference. My project deadlines are extremely tight, and the continued failure of InDesign jeopardizes not only my reputation but also a key business opportunity. Despite multiple urgent support requests, I have not received a resolution — only the a
Hi,I will have to install InDesign CC on my Mac mini M4. My system includes all the fonts installed with Adobe Creative Suite CS6, that I plan to keep for as long as they are supported by the Mac OS.Adobe CC comes with a subscription to Adobe Fonts. Does this mean that the older CS6 fonts are ignored? Worse again, will they be replaced by the new Adobe Fonts? When the CC subscription ends, will I find the old CS6 fonts still installed in my system?Thank you!
I got a request to create a Pantone swatch for Violet Indigo. A few questions popped up. What is the "19-3750 TCX" mean? I looked online for the Pantone value and found this: 533. InDesign doesn't let me enter this value for Pantone + CMYK coated or uncoated. How do I find the correct value so that I can make swatch for it?
Hello, We updated to Adobe Cloud 2025 a few days ago. Today we completed the first major print job and when checking the print data, we noticed that there is a significant problem with the ‘Black’ colour created in the colour palette in InDesign, which is created by default by InDesign and cannot be deleted. We have an area in 100% magenta and above it an area with 100% black. If you write the whole thing as PDF-X4, the black area does not appear black but slightly purple. This is similar to setting the black area to multiply We then checked whether anything is set to ‘overprint’, but it is not. In Acrobat you can then see quite clearly in the output preview that the total colour application on the black is 200%. If you create your own new colour with 100% black, then everything works. Very strange.@Adobe is there a reason for this? Here are my test documents GreetingsToby <Title rnemaed by MOD>
Hi everyone, I often work on forms and print materials in InDesign where I need to display a person's exact age (in years, months, days) — especially for official documents, certificates, or medical layouts. To speed up this process, I created a simple web tool that instantly calculates precise age from a birthdate:https://حسابالعمر.com/ It's designed mainly for Arabic-speaking users and works on both desktop and mobile.I’d love any feedback — and also wondering:Does anyone here use similar tools alongside InDesign?Would an InDesign plugin version of this be useful? Thanks
