InDesign

Say I have a 10 page InDesign document. Each page is fairly small. When I go to print out those proofs, can I print all 10 pages on one sheet of paper? Or do I have to copy each layout separately onto a new document to group them? Just to save paper really.ID CS3

Pursuant to my recent posting: The fonts are activated and installed, yet they don't appear as avaialble in the document. They appear twice in the replace fonts menu. Are they cancelling themselves out? How do I stop this? I've deleted the preferences repeatedly. I guess I'll try deleting and reinstalling the program.Auto actiate doesn't work.

Hi This is driving me crazy!!!So I have made over 200 datasheets within InDesign which use MontSerrat Bold & Montserrat Regular fonts.All has been going great but I open up one of the files today and I get a message stating that I have missing fonts?? But the warning box states Montserrat (OTF) Bold: & Montserrat (OTF) Regular: couldn't be found.I do not understand where the "(OTF) came from? I don't have any fonts that are written like that ????Help Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.Working on Windows 10 and I have updated InDesign.

It doesn't matter if I select rows in the table, or just have the insertion point in it. "Redefine style" is always greyed out in the Table panel. 

I can find no way to show this thing after it (inexplicably) disappears, making it impossible to manage styles among the files in your book. I've even tried re-opening the indb file; that does absolutely nothing... even if you close all open files. In addition to that problem: Is there a way to have styles sync across a book automatically, instead of having to continually select every file in the book and re-sync? 

I have a text box that sits under a custom shape so it makes it looks like the copy underneath sits within the shape (AB-123). Is there a way in InDesign to have a custom shape and have it editible and expand to the right as the copy grows? And is it possible to keep it within this main text box?

I am trying to build a template matrix that will allow people to insert images in the top cell to correspond with the title in the bottom cell. Not all of the types will be used on each publishing, so looking to have the grid flow from left to right, then down the rows. Some in between sign types may be needed as well (Like B.2 between B.1 and C.1). It would be ideal if the user wouldn't have to set the cells height if they make a new pair. Current Setup:42 rows, in pairs with the gray cell and then the title cell4 text boxes stacked with flowing text, each with 6 columnsAs INDD doesn't allow to set the cells height in the cell style, i am using a paragraph style associated to the cell style to set the heightThe problem is once I put an image into the cell, the paragraph style is wiped (obvi) and then the cell shrinks and the image is shown as overset. Hi, I have a 2 page form which need to be black only. The ONLY colour used throughout it the 100 Black Swatch.Page 2 uses 60% of this swatch. When I export the PDF to be print ready, the print checks show that the 60% Black, has now become CMYK... why is this? How can I amend it? Thanks!

Guys help me about this please. The pages or spreads turns to black i dunno why. I cannot export my project because of that. 

I am trying to create a document in Benghali that needs to be accessible  When recieving the translation, I copy into indesign and export the PDF (no design just as plain text to get this working!)using the standard composer it corruupts the formatting of the letters (in in design) however it passes accessibility in the PDF.When i use the Adobe world ready composer it corrects the formatting issue in indesign but when it fails character encoding in the PDFIve tried this with 4 fonts  Noto Sans Benghali, Adobe Benghali, Myriad Benghali and Tiro Bangla all have the same issues and am really stuck with a deadline looming Any Suggestions?

regularly Indesign tries to activate a font in the Adobe-collection which I don't need anymore, because I changed it by anothjer font., but this action keeps going on in the background. result: it is impossible to make a PDF, because Indesign keeps trying to activate that font in the background.to solve this, I have to close all my open indesignfiles and restart the application. how can I stop an action in the background without having to restart Indesign... greetings,k

Every time I add content  (ctr +D) the application just closes.Is  anyone else facing this issue, I am facing this after the latest update.Any solution would be appreciated.

I have been working on a book design in Indesign, Macbook. When saved and opened later, the file opens and then freezes completely. What to do?

Hello community. it's been ages since I have used indesign, and it's time to get back into it. I bumped into my first problem today.  I made an objecc state with 5 images, and when I click in the on each state, I can see each image. but when I publish the EPUB to view it, its only cycling 2 images from the 5. Why is this happening? Also when I export the interactive PDF, I can see the First image from the 5, but the previous and next button is missing. What am I doing incorrect? Thank you. 

 I am using a MacBook Pro 2024. The problem also shows on an older MacBook with an earlier version of InDesign. It happens with various documents, renaming the docs does not help.I would be grateful for any advice.

Hi community,I have a book file made of document files. I have noticed sometimes when I have successfully placed a docx linked to a docx file, all is well until I try to format the page by adding a text box for a title. I add the text box above the original placing. Then I link the two boxes together to bring the title from the top of my docx into a higher position on the page. The file link disappears immediately. I am so confused. I have tried it with a new indd and same result. I then tried with a new Word file. Also, my paragraph styles are built with the same hierarchy across the two platforms.I'm using an m2 mac.It's got to be something I've overlooked.Thanks in advance,David

 This an assignment where I have to match the design layer with the original pdf layer (the layer with low opacity). I wrapped the text around the picture, but a big gap appears below the image. I need the third line of text of the big paragraph to go directly below the picture. I tried backspacing so that the text goes under the picture, but that doesnt work. Basically I want to know how to get rid of the gap below the image and have the text go directly below the image instead. Thanks! 

Hello!Once again, I have a more or less weird effect: an address on the last page of a PDF exported by Indesign results in an odd display in Acrobat, but only in one document of many that use the same last page design.Correct PDF result: Weird PDF result:The text in those boxes is identical, all with identical format settings. I even copied the affected text box from the working document to the one where the crap comes out and put it in the same position. Of course, I use the same PDF export dialog and settings. No matter what I tried, it always comes out as such. No clue, what happens here and why.Thanks for any idea. Addition: going into edit mode in Acrobat reveals something.Working PDF:Crap PDF: 

Hi I got my first book printed perfect bound and realise now as a newbie that I need to have a wider inside margin to make it easier for people to read. It was ok and readable but could be better. In the original, I used the same margin size of 0.3937 for top, bottom, inside & outside margins. The screenshot below shows how I have reset it: inside margin 1 inch, outside: 0.375 in. Top & bottom remain 0.3937 in. Does it look about right or any tips? The document page size is A4 (8.2677 in x 11.6929 in). Also, is there a way to automate moving the content to fit within the new margins (text and photos)? I expect not but thought I'd ask.   Also, the bottom line of the dotted page number box is now sitting exactly on the bottom margin. Will that cause any problems or will it print ok?     

Hi There... I have importet Code 39 Extended Charset to build Barcodes.When I am using .csv file as datacource some charecters are showing up "incorrect" in Indesign.- The csv file has all the charectors showing correctly, and when you are adding the datasource the small preview it gives you before actualling loading data is also correct. But the minuttet is displaying the bar code its showing some charectors with a wrong encoding(?).I believe this has something to do with charect encoding for my 'textbox' in Indesign. Its very easy to reproduce the problem:Here is what I found : If I type a $ in Ms word with the Code 39 Ext charector set and then in a textbox in Indesign type a $  is it showing differently...It simply 2 different BAR CODES that is displaying..And if I change the font to something human readable it is showing a $ as expected..its allmost as this a diffent font - but it is not...  This is making my skanner fail to read barcodes "genere

Now suddenly (much of the time), I can't type on a page after creating it. I have examined the master pages they're based on, and the problem appears to be a bug where InDesign loses the assignment of the "primary text flow." I have facing pages that intentionally do not flow between each other (yes I have checked both directions). But InDesign will not let me specify the primary text flow on each page. If I set the one on the left, it loses the one on the right. Then, depending on which side my next new page falls, I may not be able to type on it. The problem appears to be due to the "primary flow." In the screen grab below, you can see that the "primary flow" toggles between the left and right pages. Neither of the panes is locked. Now what? 

I keep instinctively trying to resize my text frames using these......boxes? handles? and clicking on the left OR right one like....sucks my text out and makes a small picture/icon of my text and makes it copy/pasteable. What is this thing even called and how do I make it not do that? I just want to be able to shorten or lengthen text frames without changing their other dimension quickly and easily. 

Hello all, I am trying to print and export a PDF version of my Adobe InDesign document with the document gride included in it. I have tried multiple alternatives but so far haven't succeeded. Does anyone know how I can make the document grid appear on the exported PDF and also on the printed copy of my InDesign document? Thank you in advance.
