InDesign

The document I'm working in open and the pages show in the palette but not on screen. How do I get the pages to show on screen? Right now, see screen shot, InDesign is showing clear through to another app which is open...

Hi, I had been using Marlide Display Variable font in Indesign with no issues until I updated from Indesign 18.5 to 19.0. Now Marlide Display weights seem to be all jumbled and not consistent. I'm guessing this is a bug in the new Indesign update?

I think I've come across an annoying bug in InDesign, as I'm unable to copy paste, or option/alt drag an interactive button to copy it.Doing the action does do something, as there's a very small bounding box and you can see the item in the layers panel, but there's nothing visible on the artboard/page. If I change the button to a symbol (as opposed to an interactive button) it works...I've trashed the preferences but no luck...any ideas fine Adobe InDesign users? 

With the last update, my gradient panel in InDesign just shows up empty. Even with a gradient swatch selected, the panel never shows any info, and the menu in the upper right only says "hide options" (see screenshot). Anyone else encounter this or have any suggestions?

Moin,Ich habe ein nerviges Problem mit InDesign.Um mein Layout anzugucken gehe ich häufiger in den Präsentationsmodus (shift-W). Sobald ich diesen mit Esc oder shift-w verlasse, öffnet sich Indesign nur in einem kleinem Fenster und ich muss es erstmal wieder auf die komplette Bildschirmgröße anpassen. Das nervt einfach und raubt immer wieder Zeit 😕😕 Ich arbeite auf einem externen Bildschirm, welcher per HDMI an mein Mac angeschlossen ist. In den Voreinstellungen von Indesign habe ich dazu nichts gefunden, auch den externen Bildschirm als Hauptbildschirm einzustellen hat nicht gebracht.

Is there a a way to 'Remove Templates: Adobe Stock' from the 'Saved' presets?I was showing my students, that if you select any of the 'Adobe Stock' templates, it will be saved there. I just didn't know that you can't remove them at all! • I did try to un-install and re-install Adobe, but because it is a part of my account, it still shows up! • I even went to Adobe Stock to un-save it but couldn't do that   Any ideas?  

I have a bunch of books in production for a series and I want to rename the master spreads in a bunch of files, but I can't see how to do it.I know I can simply change the NamePrefix but when I try to change "Name" an error occurs, which makes sense given the object model shows that to be read only.is there really no way to rename a master through a script?Thank you,Ken

Other than using the Marxware product, is there a way to open a .qxp file with InDesign, or convert it to .indd?

HiFor some reason my tool panel now only allows me to use the Text tool - the rest of the tools are inactive and unable to be selected.  I have tried rebooting, uninstalling and reinstalling the app and that hasn't worked.  I found a previous post with this same issue but i do not have touch enabled so whilst that solved their dilemma it unfortunately won't fix mine.Any suggestions??Thanks

Hey all, starting to pull my hair out with this one! Every so often when InDesign opens on my Mac the application bar is off the top of the screen somewhere, so I'm unable to move, resize, or full-screen the application.   This happens pretty regularly to me, and I can't seem to find a solution other than a hard reset and praying that the top bar is accessible the next time the application opens. Como excluir uma página em branco de um livro no InDesign sem afetar as demais páginas do documento?Na edição do meu livro, sobraram algumas páginas em branco. Toda vez que tento excluí-las, meu trabalho acaba se desorganizando, e isso exige horas de esforço para refazer tudo e deixá-lo como estava. No entanto, no final, as páginas em branco continuam aparecendo, causando muita frustração.Como resolver esse problema?O que devo fazer para excluir uma página em branco do meu livro sem desconfigurar ou afetar as outras páginas do documento no InDesign?

Indesign 16Photoshop 22.5Windows Im trying get a proper PDF with spotchannels out of Photoshop. The issues already starts in Photoshop, cant seem to save a proper PDF file which Indesign can read. When i use a photoshop PDF, Indesign returns error about missing bleedbox. I tried standard pdf preset in save dialog. Then tried using a PSD cmyk and rgb bit with spot channels. Indesign keeps returning this error about unsupported colors space in one of the spot channels. As soon as i delete the spot channels the PSD is able to be read by Indesign

Hello, I just updated all of my adobe apps (photoshop, illustrator, indesign, etc) and when I open them indivdually the main home page is blank, there are no tools unless I actively open a workspace, and I can't open a new document. I can open saved documents but I am afraid to be forced to save those in the new version so I don't want to open them. Just wanted to see if others are having the same issue. I need to get work done and this is hindering my job. Cheers!

Is there a way to disable this? Obviously, if there is an error on a spread that is hidden, I probably don't care about it. It's like they did ZERO user testing on this when they rolled out the "Hide Spread" functionality last year... and still haven't ironed it all out yet.

Hoy traté de pegar una copia de texto que hice de Word y salió el mensaje "Error al importar" con una llamada de atención en amarillo, hice un paso intermendio desde el bloque de notas y dio el mismo problema. En cambio, puedo importar directamente imágenes haciendo copia y pegando desde Word o desde la web.Trabajo en un Lenovo Ideapad 5 con R7 y 16 Gb de RAM. Trabajo más de un año con InDesign y nunca tuve este problema.

I am a well-seasoned book designer working on a recipe book. Because of the nature of this type of book, and the fact that in inDesign, the pages are designed in several linked text boxes/columns, etc., this book MUST be a fixed-layout ePUB. (Please, do NOT suggest exporting to a reflowable ebook because FXL is out-dated—it's not an option.) The problem is, when I export to fixed-layout ePUB, random pages are dropping the headers and footers/page numbers. I have even tried moving these items from the master page to the actual page, but they still disappear! Any thoughts on why this is happening? I have read in other forums that exporting to IDML might help, but it doesn't, and in fact, the IDML file opens up with broken formatting (I lose all of the painstakingly placed linked text boxes and columns), basically it dumbs down the whole design, but even doing so, when exported to FXL, the headers/footers still disappear. I also have 16 different master pages because the au

I routinely add stock or self-made AE or AN mp4 videos to epub docs. Generally animations that spice up the pages as accents. Usually pretty small and ornamental. In the Media panel, I check the boxes, Play on Load, and Loop. This has worked fine for years. Today, working on a new project, these checked boxes no longer cause the media to play. It's necessary to click the Play button in order to get them to work.  Has something changed?

I seem to have somehow lost the "Remove Indesign 2024" file because when I click, it doesn't open, so I have been trying to figure out a different way to delete the application. Is there a way to fix this issue for Mac? If I install the new version will that be downloaded over the version I have? I just want to get rid of it because I currently do not use the application and I do not want it to take up storage.

I would like to request a long-overdue feature for Adobe InDesign: support for visibility and layer selection in TIFF files, similar to the functionality currently available with PSD files.Currently, InDesign can read and display individual layers from PSD files on. In contrast to PSD, TIFFs are often 30–50% smaller than PSDs. This reduces storage and significantly improves network performance (e.g. VPN, NAS access). Hi Adobe Fonts team,I'm using the Winsel variable font from Adobe Fonts in InDesign, and I've run into an issue with small caps.I can see what appear to be small cap glyphs in the Glyphs panel, but:The "Small Caps" and "All Small Caps" options in the Character panel and character styles don’t activate them.Stylistic Sets (SS01–SS20) also don’t change the characters.When I try to double-click a small cap glyph in the Glyphs panel, it just inserts the regular lowercase letter instead.It seems like the small caps are present in the font visually but aren’t connected to any accessible OpenType features(like smcp or c2sc). Could you confirm if this is a font issue? And is there any workaround or plan to update the Winsel font to support real small caps?Thanks very much for your help!
