Hi everyone, I'm using the last version of inDesign 2020 on a Windows 10 machine and until recently I hadn't any problems, but in the last couple of weeks I'm experiencing huge lags using the Text Tool every time that more than a single document is opened. I searched the old posts and tried to delete the preferences folder with the software closed, but it doesn't solve the problem for me. Any suggestions?

For example, my story has 4 text boxes, each with 2 columns.When I select some of the text in columns 2-4, I want to use a script to select all the text in columns 2-4.The green color in the sample represents the selected text

In this example, the intention is for the newly added text attribute, `kBscTAAttrBoss`, to be saved into the IDML file. While the relevant script methods appear to have been implemented, the value corresponding to `kBscTAAttrBoss` is not actually being saved to the IDML file. Is this a bug in the sample code?Thank you. 

How can I iterate through the mathematical expressions in a text flow and retrieve their MathML in the latest InDesign C++ SDK?

I work with Bengali educational materials in InDesign and would like to use automatic numbering with Bengali letters (ক, খ, গ, ঘ...) and Bengali numerals (১, ২, ৩...). It would also be useful to support Hindi/Devanagari letters (क, ख, ग, घ...) and numerals (१, २, ३...).Currently, the available numbering formats don't seem to support these sequences. A custom numbering option for non-Latin scripts would make typesetting much easier and reduce the need for manual numbering or font-based workarounds.It would be great if InDesign could support custom, Unicode-based numbering sequences through Paragraph Styles, including multilevel lists.

I'm not completely opposed to generative AI (won't get into my opinion on it personally), but Adobe really needs to stop shoving these half-baked features in our faces. Why on earth, while editing a text document on InDesign, would I need to see a pop-up suggesting "text-to-image" AI features? It's literally blocking what I'm working on and I have to close the dialogue.

Hi team, I need a help to import a batch of names in Indesign List items to create a dropdown for interactive PDF. I need a support in indesign. For now i can see the only way to add List Items manually one by one. is there any way add the bundle of list items in single shot. Hello. Brand new laptop (HP Zbook with touchscreen, Windows 10), just installed InDesign and open for the first time, I get this unfriendly "touch" screen (see screenshot) but cannot click (or touch) anything, or press any keyboard shortcut. I also tried what's described here without success (this is the first time I open InDesign on this computer). I'm running out of ideas, please help, thanks!   <Title renamed by moderator>

Nun erhalte ich die verschiedensten Meldungen, die ich vorher noch nie auf irgendeinem Gerät hatte Ich habe es deinstalliert und nochmal probiert, das schließen musste ich mehrfach erzwingen weil nichts anklickbar ist (siehe Bild 1)Das komischte ist, wenn ich die Anzeigeleistung "Normale Anzeige" wähle, tauchen die Bilder wieder auf - zwar pixelig aber sie sind immerhin dargestellt.Sobald ich mir eine Grafik aus Illustrator rüberkopiere, hängt er sich jedes Mal kurz auf und scheint Probleme zu haben. Hello all,I downloaded the Karmina font family from Adobe Fonts months ago. As far as I can tell, it installed just fine back then, although all of this is nowadays automated and the user doesn’t have much to do, which makes it difficult to make sure everything went well. Anyway, I began using the font in InDesign without any problem, and the font was also available in Photoshop, as well as in non-Adobe programs on my PC, such as Word.Today, as I launch my book project in InDesign, I see an ominous “fonts missing” warning and all the instances where I used Karmina in my book have been changed. The font doesn’t appear in the listing any more, nor does it in Photoshop or Word. However, when I log into Adobe Fonts and look up Karmina, the option the site suggests is to “Delete” it, which seems to indicate that I still/already have it…Puzzled (that’s an understatement), I did delete the font family in Adobe Font, then downloaded it again, with no discernible change. I am always excited when a new release of InDesign comes out. I have no pressing deadlines so I can explore to my heart's content. The first thing I noticed Is that the icons for InDesign on my Windows 11 Taskbar and desktop were blank. I threw them in the Recycle Bin. and then dragged the InDesign 2026/21.0 icon from the Start Menu to the desktop. I then renamed the desktop icon from "Adobe InDesign 2026" which is more information than I need to "InDesign" as I have done with many different versions when updated. Then, I started InDesign and noted that the Taskbar icon, though it showed InDesign as the program when I hovered the mouse over it, it was entirely blank: a blank area on my Taskbar. It worked to start InDesign, so I thought I would go with the flow and leave it that way. I then spent a considerable amount of time to get my Windows 11 TaskBar Jumplist for InDesign configured the way I like it for easy access to my ongoing big project: InDesign > File > Open &

Hello, is there someone using the plugin ID2Office 2.0 to convert a InDesign document to a PowerPoint. I have to produce often PowerPoint but I'm a graphic Designer so it is better for me to work in ID. I used to export as PDF and than convert my PDF in PowerPoint but I wonder if it is worth it, or have a better result to use this plugin.

Quite often on Indesign the top bar of the application page is hidden at the top. And i cant move it down, as the function is at top right. Its a pity there isnt a hotspot for this at the bottom or side, so you can drag the page down more centered onto the screen. Yes I do have two screens, but when it happens i have to unplug the screen then readjust and then plug back in. Much easier if there was a hotspot!

I work on Windows. InDesign is very slow during any operation. Sometimes, when I close the program via Task Manager because it won't close otherwise, sometimes it even seems InDesign is running double. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

Hi all, I've been trying for days to solve an issue with publishing online links from INDD files. Every time the export reaches 100%, I'm presented with a pop-up that states 'An error occured while uploading your document. Please try again. ERROR #18' I understand that ERROR #18 refers to a failure to connect with the internet network, but I am 100% connected to the internet - it's just that Indesign fails to export the file. The file is not corrupt, and my INDD app is running smoothly otherwise. I've already tried:- changing internet networks- uninstalling INDD- installing previous versions of INDD and trying to export- uninstalling/re-installing entire Adobe CC system- Using the Adobe Clean tool to clean INDD + other CC apps- checking if the file is corrupt/saving copies of my INDD file to external hardrives- restarting my laptop I'm desperate to get this working as it's part of my job, so any help would be greatly recommended. I'm running macOS Monterey 12.1

Hi, can someone please explain to me why my png images import in my fie with white backround instead of it being transparent , i have checked the swatches panel , everything but it still wont import without a backround.I have looked everywhere no one seems to know why it does that

This has been a constant thorn in my side for the last year, it’s definitely an issue with recent updates as I have changed nothing about how I use these tools in the last 16 years.Every time I need to add some illustrator artboards to indesign to create a concept deck, there will be a few artboards that import in with something missing.I go back to illustrator to check to make sure there’s no hidden layers, no unusual settings differing between elements. Nothing. It’s completely random in what it decides it will show and what it will hide when imported into illustrator. This is what is in the illustrator file: This is what happens when I import the file to indesign as an artboard. I’ve tried everything I can reasonably do to fix this. Even creating entirely new files to put the artboards into. Deleting them, saving and then putting the text back and saving again so the file updates in InDesign. I’m at my wits end with this.

I have a huge file of data, which I have put into a table in Indesign. It will be made into a printed book.Since the width of the book page is wider than the table, I set the page text box as 2 columns so that the table is now twice on each page.  The issue is that the rows are not all the same height so the 2 columns do not line up at the bottom of the page.Is there any way to sort this?

Hello,I know that ID can make some presentations slides then export them in an interactive PDF.But for people that do not have ID nor Acrobat, what are the Adobe solutions in order to create and share some interactive documents : I need only to create some slides and it is the user that will use the right arrow in order to go to the next slide.

I have a parent page with a footer.  The same footer (with the same section name) is repeated on other pages.  On one page out of 67, there is an overset text error, although the footer looks fine (no text missing).  I right-clicked on the page thumbnail and clicked Apply Parent to Page, but that didn't solve the problem.  When I click off the footer in the layers panel, the error goes away.  Any suggestions?

I am working on a 64 page book and am having an issue with the table of contents, all probably due to stupidity on my part. I did not like the original TOC for the book and deleted it and put in a new one – and apparently I left a fragment of the old one or some other mistake.In any case there is some kind of object that is offsetting page 15 in my TOC. I have no idea how it got there, what it is or how to remove it. I have looked in the story editor and cannot find it there – and I cannot select it.I'm certain there is a solution that I certainly do not know. The screenshot shows the object and what it is doing, along with a copy of the TOCmessed up TOCoff the page that is displaying correctly.I will appreciate any and all help.Thanks to those who know more than me,Joe

We downloaded and installed the InDesign Plug-in SDK 21.9 for macOS and are validating an official sample before creating any product plug-in.On macOS with Xcode 27.1, the official CustomActionFilter.sdk.xcodeproj target Debug_Cocoa64 compiles the sample sources and SDK headers up to the link step. The link fails because the downloaded SDK does not contain the package folder that the sample project references:- libPublicPlugIn.a- InDesignModelAndUI.frameworkThe missing paths are under build/mac/debug_cocoa64/packagefolder/contents/macos. I also inspected the other Xcode sample projects: they reference the same debug_cocoa64 or release_cocoa64 packagefolder structure, so choosing another sample does not avoid this dependency.I checked the local Adobe InDesign 2026 installation. It contains the app framework but not libPublicPlugIn.a or the package folder expected by the SDK examples.Could you please indicate the official

There is a premise here: do not modify the baseline offset of the first line, let it default to 0.The offset type of the sample is' full angle box height '. The same problem exists when switching to other types.I used the formula in the picture, but I feel that the font size and line spacing have improved, and the correction I provided is also unreliable.Do you have any better suggestions?Thank you .I can't upload pictures

I am writing to report an issue I have been experiencing while using Behance.As shown in the attached screenshot, many project thumbnails on the Behance Explore page are not loading correctly. Instead of displaying the actual project images, the thumbnails appear as blank colored blocks with broken image icons and incomplete image titles.This issue significantly affects my browsing experience, as I use Behance regularly for architectural inspiration, interior design references, and professional creative research.I would appreciate it if your technical team could investigate this issue and help identify the cause.
