The title says it all. This is a great extension. I paid $50 US for this in the past and it was still worth it. https://www.automatication.com/product/mfc/
Hi everyone,I'm having an issue with exporting an InDesign file as an interactive PDF including interactive checkboxes. I have set the checkboxes using the Zapf Dingbats font. However, when I export it, the checkboxes are not working properly.I'm currently using Adobe InDesign version 19.4. Has anyone experienced a similar issue or knows what might be causing this problem? Thanks in advance for your help!
I am having issues when I convert my document from InDesign into a PDF and then print it. The PDF file looks fine but when I print, the text is either bold or outlined and slightly fuzzy. However, when I create my document in Microsoft Word and export to a PDF and print, it looks great. I like the features that InDesign has but I have tried all sorts of things to fix this printing or exporting issue and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I don't understand why the font looks different when I print the PDF than how it looks on the screen.
Hi! I work in publishing and I lay out several books. I usually receive the texts in Word, and I insert them into Indesign with menu > file > insert > keep formatting. This method has been excellent so far to keep the terms in italic, bold, etc. Lately I've been having big problems instead, because the formatting is not maintained and large parts of the text, or the entire book, are imported into Indesign in an entirely italic or small caps style, even though in Word there is apparently no setting of this type (except for some terms, which I would like to keep, but not on the entire text). I can't understand what the source of the problem is, and I can't manually re-insert all the formatting from scratch for time reasons. I had the same problems with different Word files, cominig from different people, and I've tried using different Indesign documents, the problems remain. I use original and licenced for both Adobe and for Microsoft software. I am currently using I
When I try to save a PDF in Adobe Acrobat, I am suddenly redirected to Microsoft Edge, and a sign-in pop-up appears. How can I resolve this issue and save the file without being redirected or prompted to sign in?
Hi all,I often have to make tables in InDesign, which I copy/paste from the excel file in which the calculations are made. Until recently (I guess after the latest update of InDesign) this worked very well, but now when I copy a table from excel, it pastes all data in the same column. I added two screenshots to make it more clear. The only way around now is copy/paste column per column, which is an absolute waste of time. Anybody who knows how I can solve this problem? Many thanks in advance!
Hi, need some help! I realize the layout of some magazines with various rubrics after which I generate a PDF-UA. The new magazine issue is made by editing the previous magazine (InDesign file), which I use as a Template. In the new magzine, I delete the old articles, hyperlinks, bookmarks, etc.For the TOC, because of the layout I make links from the TOC to the various headings. For this I set a hyperlink destination as a Text Anchor in the Hyperlinks menu with "New Hyperlinks Destination" for each rubric using the rubric name (e.g. "Editorial"). Then In TOC I make a hyperlink to that Text Anchor. But not every issue of the magazine has the same rubric (e.g. "Editorial") always on the same page. And here is my problem. If I want to generate a new Hyperlink destination with the same name InDesign gives me a message that this name is already used. And I can't figure out where/how to delete it.In the "Hyperlink Destination Options" menu I can't find anywhere a destination/link with the n
Hi I've used the following script a lot over the years. It's brilliant, but it changes every table in the document, and now I've come across a situation where I need a script that does the same thing, but just to the table that is selected. I thought I'd seen this discussed somewhere on the forums in the past but I can't find it. Is it a simple change to make it target just the selected table? I don't recall where I originally found this script, so apologies to the author. var myDoc = app.activeDocument;var myWidths = [60, 10, 10, 10];for(var T=0; T < myDoc.textFrames.length; T++){for(var i=0; i < myDoc.textFrames[T].tables.length; i++){for(var j=0; j < myWidths.length; j++){myDoc.textFrames[T].tables[i].columns[j].width = myWidths[j];}}}alert("Table width updated successfully..."); Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to assist.
Hi all good people. I would like to report some dissatisfaction that I have been feeling with InDesign. For some time now, regardless of which version I use—2023 or 2024—I still haven't had the courage to update to 2025.Chromatic artifacts—red or green—regularly appear, resulting in large patches of color that only disappear when scrolling the document.Sometimes when I make changes to the text with find/replace that only become visible when I edit the text again. And finally, if the computer goes to sleep, when I return I find that all the work is gone. This situation is only restored if you exit and re-enter the document. These situations are very common and very boring. I wonder if it is acceptable for a company of Adobe's size and importance to have this type of bug in its programs. As I read here somewhere, I'm also starting to consider changing editorial tools. Affinity Design is gaining ground and increasingly positioning itself as a more stable alternative, not to mention its
I've had to reinstall InDesign a few times now and everytime it loses my GREP saved searches, my workspaces, my downloaded scripts, etc. I had assumed the benefit of a Cloud-based application would be that it would save these sorts of things so you don't have to start from scrtach each time. Am I missing something?
I am setting up my first "accessible" document in InDesign; I understand that before I can start Export Tagging, I must first assign a hierarchy (h1, h2, body text, etc) in Paragraph Styles. However, my document contains headings which vary somewhat depending on context: one will contain paragraph spacing after a previous paragraph, some are part of a numbered list, and so on. How do I assign them all as h1 for assistive technology without InDesign making them all the same (either all with a numbered list when I don't want it, or with different spacing assigned to it)? I feel I'm missing a very basic bit of information, yet I can't seem to locate it anywhere in the Support Community. Thank you for any assistance you can provide!
I just began learning Javascript for InDesign CS5 and I would appreciate some step by step help Goal: Ungroup all grouped objects in the active document.- Active document- Select all grouped items- Ungroup the itemsI tried a bunch of different ways… but I always got an orange highlight in the ESTK. What would the first step be?
Hello I'm not sure where to post this question, but I have a problem with the indesign to adobe express export new feature. So most of my document is in Lato font, when I export the document, the placement and everything seems to be fine except some text fields. I will attach the image so you get the idea.It seems like the lato font appears to be exactly the same TECHNICALLY. BUT it appears to be different somehow, now the resolution I found is to delete the text field copy drag the correct text field and then paste the previous contents.Does anyone knows why that happens? And possible solution? So the left font is "Lato Regular" and the right font is exactly the same "Lato Regular" seen in adobe express.
Hi everyone, I am looking for a specific style for my text. I want to replace colon (:) after the first word in every paragraph and add a pink background to the first word, like in the attached image. I want to do this using paragraph nested style to automate it. How to do it? I am also attaching a plain InDesign file with the text. If someone can help or do it for me, I would really appreciate it. Two weeks ago, I bought a Mac Studio. I want to convert a 100-page InDesign file to a printable PDF. InDesign crashes.I reinstalled InDesign. I couldn’t solve the problem. I couldn't find any source on the internet or the Adobe support community. The same file was working very well on my six years old iMac. I brought my Mac to the Apple store today. The machine is working very well. Has anybody had the same issue?I am not able to send the file to the printer. Please advise. I am stuck. I have a macOS Monterey, version 12.3.1, Apple M1 Ultra, Memory 64 GB Mac Studio.Adobe InDesign ver 17.2
I'm trying to understand why IND will update links automatically the first time I save, but if I go back and edit the image again I have to go into the Links panel, select the image and click the update button each time. Is there a way to make IND automatically update each time so I can avoid the extra clicks? Sometimes I will go adjust a PS image multiple times to see how it looks in IND.
HiIn InDesign CS6In Arabic, whenever I add fullstop or period at the end of the line, it shows as %.I use font Rubik, and it works on all vesrions perfectly except InDesign. If you faced this problem on any version, please share solution. Thanks
Hi, Brand new to Indesign Plugin development. I'm trying to get an instance of the kDocBoss class, but how do I go about doing so in code?
Hello Indesign gurus,I have several Indesign docs with hyperlinks linking to pages between them. The links work in the source docs -- i.e. they jump to the right page in a different doc.But after compiling those docs together into an InDesign book and exporting to interactive PDF, those links no longer work (they default to the cover page). Hyperlinks to URLs continue to work. There are a lot of links; is there a way to restore their function from the source doc or in the creation of the book PDF? Specs: Mac OS Sequoia. 15.1.1; InDesign v20.0.1 Many thanks in advance for help in this urgent matter!Angela

How can I remove an image (or rather a link to an image) generated by GenAI from an InDesign document that is only visible in the "Links" panel? The original is deleted from my computer and from the document, but it is displayed in the "Links" panel and there is no image frame in the document (it does not show the page). It is also not in the "Text to Image" panel. I have no idea how to get this to work. Thanks in advance for your tipsTomasz
Hi! I hope this makes sense: I have set up a 'bullet one' paragraph style that after the list of bullets includes a 1 basline grid gap before the next paragraph style. I have a 'bullet two' paragraph sstyle that is more will apply to lists within the list. When I apply this style I do not want the space after bullet one to apply specifically when followed by bullet two. Is there a way to do this? without have to create a second version of the bullet one style. You cant put a negative number in the space before command for bullet two but this is kind of what Im after? Im using InDesign 18.5.1
I have a long image that I'd like to split in order to print on several pages as it's too long for a single page. So for example, I'd like the top third of the image on page 1, the middle third on page 2 and the bottom third on page 3. Is there a straightforward way of doing this? My starting point was a simple paste to put the image an a single page but I cannot see how progress from there. (image attached). I have looked at creating a spread but cannot see how to get the image to spread beyond the first page. I am fairly novice at InDesign so I'm not really familiar enough to look for the right things to search for. I'm using InDesign 2024 on Windows 10 64-bit Can anyone help? Thanks
My document has threaded copy throughout. There was overset text on the last page, when I went to create another textbox to link it, it automatically threaded to something off the page (indicated by red line). I thought maybe there is a hidden text frame but have not found anything. I also used the breaking thread script, but that didn't work. I replaced the text frame and still nothing. I selected all on the page, got nothing. I even cleared out object styles, and paragraph styles, but it still keeps threading outside of the artboard. Please help!
