Hallo, ich habe zwei sehr seltsame Bugs an denen ich verzweifle bzw. die mich fast zum Ausrasten bringen. 1. Wenn ich ein Objekt anklicke verschiebt es sich im Bereich 0-1 mm nach oben und/oder links. Nicht immer aber fast immer und immer unterschiedlich stark.2. Wenn ich die Farbe durch Klick auf ein Farbfeld ändern möchte funktioniert das nicht. Es erscheint immer als Mauszeiger eine zupackende Hand und dann passiert nichts. Dh. ich kann die Farben durch draufziehen ändern aber nicht mehr durch Anklicken.  Es scheint also vielleicht eine Art Mauszeigerfehler zu sein, dass Indesign denkt ich ziehe immer minimal in eine Richtung obwohl ich einfach nur Klicke.  Die Fehler passieren sowohl beim Trackpad als auch bei einer Externen Maus.  Ich habe bereits mit dem Adobe Cleaner Tool sämtliche Indesign-Dateien gelöscht und neuinstalliert, trotzdem bleiben die Fehler bestehen. System ist ein Macbook Air 2020 mit M1 Falls mir hier jemand helfen kan

working on a book with each chapter as separate files. front matter (cover, table of contents, etc ends on the right page.chapter 1, which is page 1, has to start on the left page and each chapter ends on a right page. therefore, next chapter, odd page, must also start on the left page. in the book page numbering, i have set it to continue from previous section.each file chapter is set to automatic page numbering.somehow, the next chapter still starts on the right page and not on the left. i cannot get chapter 1 to start on the left page with this setting so to force it, i disabled allow spread to shuffle. i have attached screenshot for book page numbering, chapter 1 setting and chapter 2 setting.chapter 2 setting should start on the left and not right. 

When you have a hidden page / spread. it still shows when you're scrolling in your workspace. When I first hid a page, a pop up came up asking a setting about what I wanted to do with hidden pages. I cant for the life of me find it now on how to NOT show hidden pages. Hoping that when you hide a page, it hides the page from your workspace too, not only your export. 

Hello, I'm typing the Greek alphabet with minion pro, and when I try to make something small caps... it doesn't work. I've searched adobe fonts and can't find anything obvious to help. Of course I can change fonts, but it seems like it would be a weird oversight if there were really no Greek small caps with minion. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi. I made a graphic (e-)novel that I want to publish on AppleBooks and Kindle. In exporting from InDesign to Epub, something is happening to the colours. I've attached two screen captures. The 1st shows how the artwork appears in InDesign (which is also how it appears in the linked file in Photoshop; it's correct). The 2nd shows how it appears in EPub. You can see how the colors have dulled down. I've tried everything I can think of in InDesgn to fix the problem, but no luck. Can someone please help?     <Title renamed by MOD>

In my line of work, all emails must be lowercased. Typically an email is on a forced line break of its own. For example ^nem@emconsultinginc.com^n as such. Sometimes it has to be split due to columns such as: ^nem@em^nconsultinginc.com^n. How do I write a grep that will look for next lines behind and ahead, with a string of text including: Upper Case, Lower Case, Numbers, Hyphens, Underscores, and potentially other next lines. But ONLY find those emails that include an uppercase letter. I wish to ignore the search finding emails that are completely lowercased.

Hi all! I'm running 17.4 on my Mac. I have a file that I created. When I go to save it, it warns me that image(s) are missing. But they aren't! I went to the Links window... and it shows everything is fine. I checked the master pages and looked for anything that was locked. Nothing. It saved it... but it worries me that it thinks something is missing. It's a small file... just one page with 5 links. So it shouldn't be hard to find. But it is!  Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I'm designing a project for school and I'm trying to place an image into my project. But, whenever I place it, it desaturates all of the colors in my document. Everything becomes really gray. I tried messing with my color settings but it didn't help. Does anyone have any solutions?

Hello, When I try to perform package for an Indesign file, I saw an issue "Arial Unicode" font is not getting packaged in font files, though it does not show missing or preflight error in Indesign document. I'm aware Indesign will not create a font package for the file synced from Adobe Typekit. But that is not a case here. Is it normal with "Arial Unicode" font? 

Can the text size stay the same when dragging and dropping combinations?In the image below, when dragging and dropping to enlarge the right image, will 004.jpg stay the same size?

I have a Macbook Pro 2023 M3 Pro with 18gb RAM and 512gb SSD. Whenever I load my document in Indesign the colourwheel keeps cropping up. I've restarted my laptop, uninstalled the app and recdownloaded, reset preferences and even tried older versions, no luck. Please does anyone know how to solve this 😕😕

I tried restarting the app, updating the app, and restarting the device, but I can't open my file after choosing the "make available online only" option. After doing that, I couldn't open my file anymore. I also tried opening it on another computer, I tried checking it in the Creative Cloud but it's not there. I'm working on a 578-page planner and am not even a quarter through my hyperlinks. I don't think the file is that heavy yet. I just want to open it again. There's also no option to download it for offline use. Heeeelp! I'm a novice and this is my first time using InDesign.   

For my project I have a number of parent spreads with different layouts. When I add pages, I assign a parent spread and then I command-shift click in the frames on the layout to be able to edit them / add content. But periodically (and I am not sure what is the trigger), the pages seem to reset such that I get both my frames with the added content, and the original frames without any content. The result appears as in the screen shot. I then need to go in and cut the contents from the editted frames, delete those frames, enter the frames from the parent pages with shift-command-click and paste the content back in. Any clues why this happens and how I can prevent it? 

Is there a script that would make a list of the first word of each page (or, preferably, create a text box on each page and place the next page's word in that)? My document's all in one story with one text frame on each page, although there are several other frames (header, page number) applied through master pages.

NEW UPDATE TO MY LAST UPDATE:  THE BUGS ARE BACK. I just installed ID's update 19.0.1 and now when I select text with the rulers visible...screen flashes white!  When I hide the rulers and select the text there is a slight flicker.  This no longer strikes me as a Mac bug, but how will we know until Adobe releases an update for the M2 chip. What is taking so long?? HOLD THE WEDDING!  I just updated Sonoma to 14.1. and SUDDENLY I was able to turn on GPU which was previously grayed out.  The flickering has stopped with the rulers visible in ID on my MacBook Air  M2 -- HOORAY. I suppose it was Sonoma and not Adobe's problem.  THIS IS NOT REALLY FIXED (see above) This is driving me crazy. I have the latest version of InDesign on a MacBook Air M2; I have 32 GB Ram and 1 TB hard drive. Every time I selecr text by highlighting it in the text frame, the screen flickers like crazy then goes white util I release the mouse button.I just updated the OS t

I can't: select multiple items with my cursor - I have to selet each individually select text certain textcopy and paste things (they paste on random other pages).   Any ideas? It's pretty disastrous for my current project.   It's become unusable, I'm considering ways to export the whole thing. Shame as I'd just set up a document and the update to Hide Pages is actually a great help. If only the rest worked.      <Title renamed by MOD>  

The "Find" field does not show how many times a word is repeated in the document, which is exactly what I want to know. It just locates the same repeated word in the file, one at a time. Help plz. Hope you all are ayt. Hugz

Bonjour, pour un document bilingue français et allemand, je cherche à appliquer le script FindChangeList dans sa version française pour uniquement le texte en français. Le problème est que le script s'applique aux 2 langues, et que l'allemand n'a pas les mêmes règles typographiques que le français (le script glisse des erreurs typographiques dans le texte allemand). Je cherche donc comment résoudre ce poblème :- soit ajouter des lignes dans le script FindChangeList afin qu'il ne corrige que le texte en français ou qu'il ne corrige que la feuille de style de paragraphe correspondant au français. - soit appliquer un GREP uniquement aux styles de paragraphes français. J'aimerais opter pour la 2e solution qui me semble être la plus élégante mais je n'ai aucune idée de comment m'y prendre : j'aimerais par exemple corriger automatiquement les espaces avant ponctuation (;:?!, etc.) merci pour vos lumières !

Is it possible to set the options like search strategies, characterStyle, text after & before etc. via script?MatchCharacterStyleType is read only.

Hi there, is there a way to monitor/track the download number of documents?   I noticed InDesign 19.0 onwards will no longer support integrated analytics from the dashboard, so I integrated Google Analytics with my documents to track analytics data. However, clicking the download button doesn't trigger "file_download" event on Google Analytics. So I was wondering if there a way we can monitor the download number?   <Title renamed by MOD>

I have a brand new Mac studio M2 Max, 64GB Im running the latest adobe cloud sorftware but having an issue with Indesign. indesign runs fine when I first install it then has a huge lag - both when selection/moving within the app (even on tiny documents) and also clicking into the app from another program (can take up to 10 sec to reveal when I click from one program to indd) working within the program everything lags, text, moving, selecting - any help! I have uninstalled and reinstalled and again works ok for about half an hour then its off again

I have a 100+ page document I have published successfully a long time ago and I have uploaded new versions to the document many times now, but just a couple of days ago I started getting this error, which does not let me publish anymore. I can upload other documents just fine. Indesign doesn't give me any indication that links would be broken or files missing. What can I do? I searched through the community boards and none of the previous suggestions have helped.

For paragraph sorting, I generally use the language-aware paragraph sorter which @Peter Kahrel made many years ago, and which mostly works well. For Polytonic Greek, however, it fails. As far as I understand the instructions on the page linked to above, this is how I should indicate that diacritics should be ignored. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work: all accented vowels just end up at the end of the list (in seemingly random order). If I remove the brackets, it sort-of-kind-of works, in that accented vowels are then at least ordered with the base vowel instead of at the end of the alphabet – but they’re still treated as a separate le
