I am create a pdf then show error. Please help me what is solution is font embed. i am create new preset of Adobe pdf but problem is still. Please help me. I am share screenshot of error.
I tried ID on a friend's computer for like 5 minutes and gave up over this problem (and a failed attemption of switching UI language)This bug is just, incredibly ridiculous. 连(connection)字 is ligature, 断(break)字 is hyphenation. (The misunderstanging probably cause by the character "hyphen (-)" is called 连字符 in chinese)I get it that most Chinese UI users don't need those functions, yet it's still so confusing how an international software can have such idotic performance for multi-language users.I didn't use it any further but I'm afraid it's not the only problem.
Im on with the customer support chat but not getting any info. would be great if anyone could share updates if they hear anything. Mainly want to get an idea of how long this could be so that we can manage expectations.
All my published online documents are gone. I refresh the page and it's just a blank page. Yesterday evening it was still working. Does anybody know what's going on ? This is an emergeny sent out to documents to clients yesterday evening and know there unable to access them???
I'm also using jpgs in InDesign right now, but have run into a problem. How to set the quality to default to maximum 12 when storing jpg imagesIf the last one was ever stored as a low quality jpg, when we modify the size well, if we move too fast, it may be stored as a low quality image again. As a result we don't realize the error has happened. This is why I prefer to use tif format, but tif is too big.How can I make this setting always 12, i.e. close last save as 8, open it this time, and then save again to automatically change to 12 maximum?
Is there any way to make the packaged fonts not point to C:\windowns\Fonts?Especially after packaging and copying to another computer, if the same font in “C:\windowns\Fonts” and “Document fonts” have the same name but different versions, it will point to the “C:\windowns\Fonts”. There will be an error. Sometimes there will be a hint of missing characters, but you want to change it, but you can't.Sometimes it is scary, the document will not prompt, will be used directly under the “C:\windows\Fonts”.The correct way of thinking should be to prioritize the use of “Document fonts”.Is there any way to use a script to set the fonts of a certain document to point only to “Document fonts” and disable pointing to “C:\windows\Fonts”.Thank you very much. The full documentation is here(this is not an example of an error occurring and may not be informative)http://www.fileconvoy.com/dfl.php?id=g699b5549b21dd62c1000567623835ed14e5b8cda60
What's the shortcut to remove all character formatting? <Title renamed by MOD>
Hi All, i'm suffering from a weird problem: nothing wants to use the original folder exept the export command. When i try to replace an image the program navigates me to the last used folder. Same when i try to package a document. I've tried to delete all the preferences. ALL of them. I've emptied all the cache. ALL. Uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign: the newly installed app tried to package into the last used folder (!?). The Preferences>File Handling> Default Relink folder menu does nothing. I can switch it but nothing happens... Same issue with other apps (Illustrator, PS, etc.). I feel i'm stucked with the problem. Please HELP! Regards,Balazs
I have some ExtendScripts to import XML files into a template. They were developed some years ago using InDesign CS6. They worked fine.Currently I'm using InDesign 19.5. When importing an XML file it is adding a dot at the end of each paragraph. I don't know how to avoid that, as the XML text already has the dots and it is duplicating the dot.My input file is something like this:<paragraph>Text paragraph 1.</paragraph> <aid3:br/> <paragraph>Text paragraph 2.</paragraph> <aid3:br/>I have realized that removing the <aid3:br> tag it does not add the dot, but it neither adds the line break. I just want the line break to be added.I have these configuration properties:with (app.documents[0].xmlImportPreferences) { importToSelected = false; importStyle = importType; createLinkToXML = false; allowTransform = false; repeatTextElements = true; ignoreUnmatcherIncoming = false; importTextIntoTables = true; ign
Dear Community, In the process of teaching myself InDesign, I can't seem to get any further than the placement of a manuscript (Word Doc). Each time I try -- and there have been many attempts! -- the text refuses to snap to the guides. I've tried aligning it as well as I possibly can: when I pull it down to the lower righthand corner, I do see that tiny red square with the cross inside, but when I click on it, a little box appears that says "rectangle" and asks for "options"! From then on it's pretty hopeless, and whatever I do, I create new objects (rectangles 😉 ). Which obviously isn't my intention. Also curious is that the text itself remains highlighted, as if it's in some kind of "limbo." Does this sound familiar? I've looked around on Internet (and here) and tried various suggestions, but nothing has worked so far. All my settings seem to be accurate. I've even tried using different texts, thinking that perhaps the fault was with the text itself. I hope so
I'm hoping there's a script for this one but I can't find it after Google searching. I have an object frame on a page and need to copy and paste it into a new file but the new file needs to resize itself to the exact size of the object frame being copied. This will save time in checking measurements for multiple object frames. One at a time is great, but the abilitiy to select multiple object frames at once and it creates multiple Indesign files for each object frame at their respective exact sizes would be even better. The new pages need to have 3 mm bleed added to the page. If it can also add 3 mm bleed to the object frame as part of the same script even better. But Robert at ID-Tasker has already helped me with this amazing script "Resize height and width of multiple sized objects by adding the same measurement to each object" which I can use after it's created the new page file with the framed object. After bleed and fitting image to frame and naming/saving
Hello, I'm building document in ID and have specific question I couldn't address myself: I'm using Paragraph style to build automatic Table of Contents. Some pages in my ebook doesn't have place for Header, or any other text, because they are full-page picture. How can I still include title of such page in ToC? Let's say it will just say "Poster" My idea for workaround is to place some white (invisible) header undernath the poster, for ToC to cath it, but perhaps there is cleaner way to do that? Any tips?
Why does text wrap work when the graphic frame that TW is applied to is at the top margin, but there is additional space added when the graphic frame is further down the page? It doesn't appear to be related to leading or space after a paragraph. In the image below, the bottom graphic frame is within a paragraph, but the same thing happens when a frame is between paragraphs. And sometimes moving the graphic frame DOWN brings the text UP, but not to the top of the defined text wrap.
as this old content of pluginconfig.txt dosnt work any more after 19.4, I wonder what it should be instead. Havnt found any examples that makes this clear... =Path=Exclude:Plug-Ins:UI:InCopyFileActions.InDesignPlugin:Plug-Ins:UI:InCopyFileActionsUI.InDesignPlugin
Hey, I have a problem - Table of contents does not include Headers defined by Parent pages. I set up document with a couple of parent pages, containing headers, that shall be included in Table of contents. Unfortunately, none of headers placed thanks to parent page are included in ToC. If I insert standard text paragraph next to the one applied by parent, and asign the style that should be included in ToC - it works (such a header will be included in ToC).I set up section markers but this doesnt seem to change anything in problem - if I create a header outside of Parent page, it will fetch Section marker as the one from parent page, but the independent one will be included in table of contents, and parent-placed one not. Any tips how to solve this? Additional question - if I have pages with no place for header, but would still like to have this page included in table of contents, with some title, can I just add White title at the bottom of such a page, and include
Hello,I have used the PlaceMultipagePDF script to import a pdf into InDesign. However, all the pdf pages have a bleed and trim marks included which means that when they have been imported in the actual content is off-center.Is there a way to center-align to page ALL of the pdf pages in the document at once?I have tried using the AligntoPage script but that still only seems to align one page at a time. Many thanks in advanceHanniel
Hi, I'm an architectural student, currently working on my portfolio. In this portfolio, there are many drawings with specific line weights. When I export to PDF directly from AutoCAD and view the drawings in Adobe Acrobat, the line weights are properly displayed. HOWEVER, Here's my problem; If I place the AutoCAD-PDFs in an InDesign document and export them again with absolute maximum PDF quality, the line weights are then displayed incorrectly in Acrobat (they all get a lot thicker and a bit messy). The line weight information is not lost though, which can be seen by printing the PDF on paper or zooming in while in Acrobat. This means that the PDF files made by Indesign have a different script for how they are to be viewed on-screen. Now I know that some of you might say that I need to use the setting "Fix Hairlines" in Adobe Acrobat. Even though that works, I don't want to rely on the assumption that people viewing
Hi!I would like to create an InDesign file with the same specifications from the attached PDF print template. What is the best way to do this? I have already tried importing the PDF, but it fails when creating the print mark and the print mark area. It is also difficult to define the exact printable area with auxiliary lines. Is there a simple solution for importing the dimensions in exactly the same way?Thank you very much!
Trying to develop a script that will align an object horizontally center and vertically to bottom. This is what I have but can't get it to aling to the bottom tell application "Adobe InDesign 2025" set selList to selection --assumes more than one item selected tell document 1 align align distribute items selList align option horizontal centers align align distribute items selList align option vertical centers &n
In dumping some text from Word into ID, not a good practice I grant, I noticed some strange differences in the para marks that I have not noticed before. I have done an attached screenshot and annotated the various marks. The usual para mark I see in automatically entered text is the one in the green circle. However some of the para marks are bigger and examples are the red circles. I then noticed that the paras ending with the red circle mark leave slightly more leading before the last line (which of course I don't want). And then I see there is a third variety in the clue circle. The para style for all these paras is identical and very vanilla, separating the paras with a 3mm Space After.I would be grateful for an explanation of the different types, whether I should/could change one for another, and how to correct the 'last line leading' anomaly with the red circles.
Hello! Since I've been using InDesign 2025, the software automatically puts numbers in brackets (e.g. (8)) in superscript and I can't figure out how to deactivate it. Clicking on the superscript button doesn't work to change the character back to regular body text. Has anyone encountered the same problem?
I am primarily a developer with limited knowledge of InDesign but I have run across a problem that I have attempted to solve in multiple ways but have yet to figure out. We have documents in four languages. The English and Spanish documents accurately export to HTML and PDF. But when it comes to Chinese text, I have some issues: 1) If I export a document in simplified Chinese to PDF, the text appears correctly until I copy and paste it, it then reverts to traditional Chinese when pasted to a new dopcument.2) If I export the document to HTML, it only displays as traditional chinese. This seems like a font issue. The traditional chinese documents uses a font called MHeiHK and the simplified uses a font called MHeiHKS. Those fonts are referenced in the InDesign document and appear in the css of the respective documents: MHeiHK in traditional chinese and MHeiHKS in simplified chinese. I have used both legacy HTML format and the newer HTML
I have Split Document (EPUB only) selected and it's not holding when split document based on paragraph style export tags is selected. Anythoughts on why?
