Hey, everybody!I'm preparing a booklet for printing. The booklet has a photo of a girl in PSD format with transparent background. I have added this image as a link in the layout on top of a brown coloured frame, I want the girl's hand to be on top of the frame. But when I export the PDF for printing (PDF/X-1a:2001), the part of the frame that is covered by the girl's hand becomes white. I'm using the latest version of InDesign. Why is this happening? How can I fix it? Thanks in advance <Title renamed by MOD>
Had to erase my hard disk and reinstall Creative Cloud. I need to InDesign CC 2018 because that's what my team is still using, but when I looked for older versions of InDesign to install, all I see are 2017 and 2015 versions. Is there a link to Indesign CC 2018?

I am using a macbook air (m3) with mac OS 14.6 and InDesign 2025. I have laid out a long novel as a ID 'book'. It has 6 separate .indd files for the six sections of the book and one .indb file that stiches them all together as a book. The book has been edited and now I want to make a clean copy of the whole thing to a new folder and do the editorial corrections in that new version. That way, I will have the original pre-edit book and a new seperate edited book. I tried just copying all seven files to a new folder, and giving them all new file names, but found that when I double-clicked the new .indb file, the book panel showed all the old names and any correction I made, were being made to the old files in the old folder. How can I make a clean copy of the whole book, so I can keep the pre-edit and post-edit versions separate? <Title renamed by MOD>
I'm not pleased with EPUBs created by exporting from InDesign. My justified text comes out ragged right. And when I switch from Roman to italic or boldface type the type gets scrunched. I haven't taken a coding class in over 20-25 years and I haven't done any coding work in that time as print book design has kept me occupied. So my question is: Is there a book--I much prefer book tutorials than videos--that provides in depth, step-by-step instruction on how to refine these EPUBs to maintain much more of the polished look of the InDesign files? Thank you. Steve Tiano <Title renamed by MOD>
Italic type and boldface type gets scrunched (especially when there is punctuation) when I export to EPUB from InDesign. Any fixes that don't involve going under the hood into CSS and coding? Thank you. <Title renamed by MOD>
Hi. I don't know if this is possible, but I need to design 100x individual wedding bingo cards. I've been given 45 phrases and my customer wants me to randomise the phrases across the 100 cards so that they are all different. They've asked for a specific design for the background of the bingo cards, with some text and colours specific to their wedding. I have an Indesign template ready to input the text but I don't really want to do this 100 times. Does anyone know if this is possible, even if it's not in Indesign but another programme? Thanks
I can't install the trial because my computer doesn't meet requirements. I can't start the trial, so can I use the trial later after I upgrade my computer or is this it? Is there a way to cancel the trial so I can actually use it later? <Title renamed by MOD>
Eine solche Funktion könnte den Workflow vereinfachen und die Kreativität direkt in InDesign unterstützen.I really like working with a translucent look, such as the frosted glass look. I currently use Photoshop for this, but I would like to see a blur option available directly in InDesign. This would make it easier to avoid the use of drop shadows or external glow effects in certain designs and instead use blurred areas, which would open up new creative possibilities. Such a function could simplify the workflow and support creativity directly in InDesign
I've made sure that text wrapping is off, I've looked at the ojbect styles and made sure that's alright, I've looked at character and paragraph styles, and I am absolutely flabbergasted at why I continue to see that thick, black box around my endnotes and why the start of each endnote is blue (including, per the screenshot, a continuation of an endnote from one page to the next). I've looked around these forums to no avail (that's why I knew to try some of the things mentioned above). I didn't have this problem with my endnotes until recently. This is part of a series of booklets, so I usually copy/paste the old indesign file into the new booklet's folder and then start formatting on the copied file, so the settings haven't changed, so this is a new thing in my files. I'm on Indesign 19.5, in the US (if that matters), and I don't know a whole ton about this being self-taught and Google Search taught. I'll take any help I can get. I'm dying here. Please and thank you.
There has been a low-level technical change in the way InDesign v20 (2025) exports images in reflowable EPUB. If this change was documented, I didn't see it (and, unfortunately, it would be an exception; Adobe has not documented any of the changes to EPUB export in the last several releases). The change affects only those who use CSS re/styling on reflowable EPUB. Images are no longer exported as div model (e.g. an Object Style of PICTURE has heretofore been exported with style code under div.PICTURE), but under figure (figure.PICTURE). So if you have any existing projects that use the div style reference, you'll need to review the default CSS component of the EPUB and adjust your custom styles to match. AFAICT, nothing else has changed, just the technical grouping of these style definitions. The most obvious result will be that any existing code that modifies images in your EPUB project will stop working, even if you update the style elements... unless you remap it to fi
I know there are similar questions, but the answers don't work for me. I'm formatting a white paper that has 52 references, each of which are cited multiple times in the text. When I say "reference," I basically mean "endnote," I guess. Superscript numbers in the text linked to a numbered list at the end of the document. (I'll try to explain exactly what I mean, but this really isn't a question about proper terminology, I'm just trying to solve a specific problem.) I need to be able to generate a PDF that hyeprlinks the superscript numbers in the text to their corresponding endnotes - and then back again to the text when you click the number in the endnote. I already had to mine forums to learn that you only get hyperlinked endnotes at all if you export the PDF as "High Quality Print." NO other PDF setting works. Just mentioning it here because it's unbelievable. (Why would you even need a print to have links?) But that's the kind of quirk that Adobe likes to leave
Dear All,I need help with a task in Adobe InDesign. I have a document with 13-digit numbers inside tables, and these numbers are part of grouped items. I want to:Find all the 13-digit numbers in the document.Create hyperlinks for these numbers automatically.Ensure that the hyperlinks are applied correctly, even if the 13-digit numbers are part of grouped items (i.e., text frames or objects grouped together).Could someone guide me on how to achieve this, possibly with a script or using GREP expressions? Any help would be greatly appreciated!i tried Indesign javascript:// InDesign JavaScript var myDoc = app.activeDocument; var myStory = myDoc.stories; var urlPrefix = "https://www.librairesdelest.fr/livre/"; // Find 13-digit numbers app.findGrepPreferences = null; app.changeGrepPreferences = null; app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = "\\b\\d{13}\\b"; var foundItems = myDoc.findGrep(); for (var i = 0; i < foundItems.length; i++) { var match = foundItems[i]; var thirte
I have 32GB of RAM. Is that not enough for InDesign anymore? When working on a project that's not even all that big (5-20 mb), I'm occasionally limited to 2 or 3 undos at most. Not even after anything complicated -- it happens after simple actions like moving objects around, text editing, etc. Quitting / reopening InDesign only fixes this problem for a short time. What else can I try to fix this? Notes: I've already tried resetting all prefrences, and completely uninstillaning / reinstalling indesign several times SPECS: 32GB RAM / Processor: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1255U 2.60 GHz / System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor local disc only about half full This has been a problem with Indesign 2024 and the newest 2025 version. I'm not running anything else intense while using Indesign. Sometimes photoshop, which wasn't a problem in the past. I'm running Windows 11 on a Surface Pro 9 (I've been a user of various Surfa

Hi all, I have a product catalogue - https://indd.adobe.com/view/5fdb11c8-8c8f-4346-853a-840085184228 I need to increase the Trade prices throughout by 2%. I have a style sheet set up whereas I can target just the Trade price (leaving the RRP alone). Is there a plugin or script that will allow me to do this? I have been using Price Adjuster 2025 for currency conversions but I don't think this plug in will allow me to increase by percentages. Many thanks for your help <Title renamed by MOD>
I have followed every tutorial, reviewed every other forum on this, went step by step with all preferences and my gradient still pastes as an image. Is it the new update that refuses to copy/paste swatches between the two? Please help. Thank you.
I am using the new indesign CC 2019 on a PC. When I go to change text formatting by using the eyedropper tool, it changes the color of the text and not the format. There is no "T" next to the eyedropper tool which I thought was weird because there was a minute or so before. Also, I am highlighting the text first, then clicking the eyedropper tool, then clicking the text formatting that I want to copy. I made sure the text was highlighted and not the boxes. Is this a 2019 bug or is there some way to fix? Never had an issue on 2018. THank you!
I'm using data merge in InDesign (Version 15.0) on a file with two pages in the InDesign file, and I'm changing text on both pages. Is there a way to export the merged documents to separate PDFs, both consisting of two pages? Right now in the "Export to Adobe PDF" panel, I'm selecting "Create Separate PDF Files." This ends up creating a separate PDF file for each page, giving me a folder like the following:- Merged_01 | (Page 1, first row of data)- Merged_01(1) | (Page 1, second row of data)- Merged_02 | (Page 2, first row of data)- Merged_02(1) | (Page 2, second row of data) Is there anyway to get something like this as an output:- Merged_01 | (Page 1 & 2, first row of data, a multipage PDF)- Merged_02 | (Page 1 & 2, second row of data, a multipage PDF)
