InDesign

Hello, everyone! Looking for someone who has experience in creating interactive forms with InDesign. The form works fine in Acrobat, but I have a problem with displaying the font correctly on other pdf readers, for example, opening it in Chrome. I have attached examples how it should look like and how it opens in chrome. It seems like it has a problem with special characters. I have tried this with multiple fonts and none of them open correctly in chrome. It is important that this form works on most, if not all, pdf readers and Chrome might be a popular choice. Is there a way of embedding fonts in forms? Or am I missing something in settings? Any help would be appreciated.       <Title renamed by MOD>

Can someone help? I created a doc in Indesign that has a few links I created that opens up these pop ups. The only thing is, that these black doted outlines are showing up on my pdf. Is there a way to hide these? I have no animations attached to these also.  Attached is a sample.      <Title renamed by MOD>

Pre-flight shows that an illustrator vector image has too low effective resolution, however there's no way to change this, as there is no effective resolution ofr vector files.  It tells me the fix is to "correct the resolution in the source file."  Which is not possible from what I can see.   It also shows "strole weight too small", for 4 AI files, none of which have any strokes.  So I guess a weight of 0 is too small?  It tells me the effective stroke is 0.187 though...   It also gives me numerous bleed and trim hazards, however none of them are close to safe margins even.  And many of them are not even visible. Also, clicking on the page number doesn't go to that page, and doesn't highlight that item...   Overall, the pre-flight seems to be pretty broken at the moment!     <Title renamed by MOD>

Bonjour, Je souhaite importer du texte depuis un tableur. L'importation marche bien avec le fichier .xlsx enregistré depuis Excel. Mais.. lorsque j'utilise le même fichier, cette fois enregistré depuis Google Sheet (même extension .xlsx), ou encore depuis openOffice (en .xls cette fois ci), InDesign m'affiche un message d'erreur : "Impossible d'importer ce fichier. Aucun filtre n'a été trouvé pour exécuter l'opération demandée."Et l'importation ne se fait pas... Je n'ai pas trouvé de soution sur internet. L'idée c'est d'éviter de passer par Excel. Si quelqu'un a une idée je suis preneuse! Je suis sur la version InDesign 19.5 à jourMerci pour votre aide 🙂

I'm working on a document that's a bit different from conventional, it's a storyboard.So there are multiple pages on a single spread for each row of the storyboard.The issue I'm running into, is that the active page is somewhat unpredictable.I'm creating a function to add a panel (essentially a page) via script, because I need it to set up some specific elements and connect the text directly and so on... The problem, is that unless I'm fully zoomed in on a page, and even if I double-click, the current active page is sort of random. It tends to be the one that is in the center of the page.Has anybody run into a similar issue or has a workaround? 

I'm working on a file for a storyboard and I need to have a few pages in each spread so they work as rows.The problem I run into, is that I had to create a script to reorganize the pages in the spreads because InDesign apparently can only reorder the spreads automatically when you have a 2 page spread.I mean, if I want to have a 5 page spread, I'd expect to be able to add a page after the 5th and it would create a new spread, so if I move things around it would respect that limit, like it does with 2.Am I missing something?Or it's just a feature lacking?

Bonjour, je mets très régulièrement en pages des catalogues avec en moyenne 500 lots qui ont chacun 1 photo et 1 bloc texte non chaîné. Chaque bloc texte commence par un numéro que je renseigne en toute fin de mise en page ("N° 1 - exemple"). Existe-il une numérotation automatique qui renseignerait le "N° -" du premier bloc de la page 1 au dernier du catalogue, ce qui m'éviterais de les remplir manuellement, un gain de temps pour moi serait.Par avance merci.

Hi everyone, I have a query regarding the storage of QR Codes generated in InDesign.Is it possible to save the QR codes to a central place, such as in your CC Libraries, for ease of use across multiple documents (and to save the creation of new QR Codes each time for the same content- e.g. URLs); or should I set up another InDesign document that contains all my QR codes to copy and use across different publications?   Thanks.<Title renamed by MOD>

I know its not a huge issue but as a designer its a little irritating. When running under the darkest theme in Illustrator and Indesign the open, save, export, and place dialogues are all in light themes even with the OS in Dark mode. All of the dialouges in Photoshop however show up dark.     {Renamed by MOD}

I was working on an InDesign file saved on the cloud when suddenly it crashed. And when I try to open the file it shows this error.   Does anyone have any idea of how I can recover the file?     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hello Adobe Support, I have already contacted your customer support and asked about the patches for Adobe InDesign CS6 version 8.0. When I used this software in the past, I had some crashes and these problems were fixed with the patches 8.0.2 and 8.1 for InDesign CS6. After installing the patches, I was able to work with InDesign without any problems. Background: I own the CS6 suite, I have the original installation DVD (2) and I have the serial number to hand. I am also an Adobe CC customer and use Photoshop, Bridge and Lightroom. The patches for CS6 are no longer available online. The customer support representative (Nathalie) told me that she does not have access to these patches and referred me to the Adobe Community Support site.  Unfortunately, I could not find an official Adobe link to download these patches in the community posts. I am struggling to create a hyperlink to an image on another page in the document. It is straightforward to link to a piece of text but not an image. In other words I want the text on page 130 to readPage 138 - birth certificate for Alex Strachanwhere the birth certificate image is on page 138 and this page number would change if I insert pages and the image moves to a different page. There is no text on the page 138 to link to unless it is possible to link a dummy text frame to the image.If I select the destination image, 'New hyperlink destination' on the Hyperlinks panel only offers 'Page' or 'URL', with 'Text Anchor' greyed out. I don't think 'Page' is any good as I want it linked to the image, not the page.I feel this should be straightforward but I cannot see how to do it. Can anyone help please?Thanks.

Hi, since updating to InDesign 2019 the way bullets work around text wrap seems to have changed. Before I could set a left indent and a first line indent and it would not be affected by text wraps. Now it appears to push everything over by the left indent, ignore the first line indent and add a large tab space after the bullet. Is anyone else having this issue?

Hello I'm going to go crazy!! I've been looking for weeks/months for color management on indesign. I mainly work for documents for printing. I work in CMYK (well I think!) Except that when I print on my personal printer to check the colors they are not the right colors... Purples are brown, fuchsias red... I think I don't have the right color profile, or poor color conversion. I must have imported a bad profile after downloading vectors from the net... I'm tired of not finding the solution. Why would I be getting extra space above the last line in a paragraph? The problem isn't in the leading, space before or space after. Settings are the same for them through the whole paragraph, but the last line still gets set off a little too much. Is this a 2018 problem or am I missing something? Any suggestions for how to fix this?

Hi there, In the lastest version 16.0, if I try and space items, (eg. phone, email, website) margin-to-margin, I full justify the text bow and then add a flush space between items, i do not get the required spacing as usual (see screen shot) is this an error or is there anything I can do to fix?     

Hi, I wrote a script with which I could open a selected image in AdobeInDesign 2023 in Photoshop, and if the folder containing the image had the same file but with the psd extension, it would open it. If not, then the image I selected was opened. This worked fine on the windows operating system, but I bought a macbook with a m1 processor on Sonoma 14.2.1. As I understand it, the macbook system works differently and now my script doesn't work at all. Please help me rewrite the script so that it works correctly, I really need it for work. Every ID file I open always fills the entire screen. This was never the case in CS3, which tended to open each file in the state/size that it was last saved in. How can I prevent every file from filling the screen every time I open it? Thank you.

Hi,I'm relatively new to Indesign. I just noticed that most of my paragraph breaks were converted to column breaks when I imported a Word doc. Why and does it matter for epub or pdf exports? Windows 11. Desktop PC. Mechanical keyboard (daskeyboard). I don't use the numerical pad to enter/break. Formatting marks are correct in Word. 

Hello everyone! I'm trying to export a design into a PDF file, and everytime I do it, InDesign exports a previous design version, not the latest one. I tried closing and opening the file several times, and also changing the file name, but none of these options work. The strange thing is that I actually see the latest design version in the editable file, but it goes back to a previous one in the exported file. Any idea in how to fix this?

I'v installed InDesign thru the creative cloud on my new laptop. When I open InDesign it's just constantly loading, the mouse has the blue loading symbol flickering next to it. I've uninstalled and installed but the problem is still there     <Title renamed by MOD>  

 Is it possible: the same paragraph style, can automatically determine the position of the paragraph in the Frame, and then use a different paragraph before and after the spacing. For example, in the same paragraph style T2.If T2 is in the middle of the page, I want the paragraph margins to be 6mm.If T2 is in the middle of the page, I want the paragraph margin to be 0 and the paragraph margin to be 6mm. Also, if T2 is preceded by T1, I want T2's paragraph margins to be 0, which is kind of like “next style”, But there's a difference. The hold option doesn't always work well sometimes, we have the title just in that spot and the content can't be adjusted.A more flexible approach is needed. What's the best way to do it?Or, can Adobe improve it?Thank you~
