InDesign

Hi,I would like Indesign to fill the gap at the end of this sentence I've turned off hyphenation and don't want to justify the text.Can you manage how sentences are cut off in your paragraph styles? Thanks

I am looking for a script that can identify two or more consecutive letters in full caps, and replace the full sequence/acronym with Opentype All Small Caps - e.g. FIFA, PA, USA. My usual font is Sabon LT Pro and I would like to be able to specify this or other fonts in the script. Can anyone advise?

Hello, we are 2 coworkers who are both using all of our files from the icloud. We both work in the office and at home, so there are 4 computers connected to icloud.   An example of an issue: Coworker A is working on a large indesign file in office, catalog with 50+ pages with lots of images/linked files.  He then will go home and work on that same file the next day.  It will open with 40 to 50 missing links.  Obviously frustrating but goes thru and relinks.  Coworker A comes back into the office the next day to work on same file, open it and 40 to 50 missing links.  This is very frustrating as most of the projects are large like this and makes working from home very difficult.   Coworker B will open the same file at home and in the office and will only be missing maybe 5 files.   Is there any way to limit the amount of linked images or to have none at all.  Were just confused since all the files are in the icloud.  No files are in diffe

The 'Edit Original' icon in the 'Links' window isn't available for said generative-expanded image. Is it possible to consolidate the AI edits and get the image to appear in my computer's drive, and open it in Photoshop, without hitting 'Package'? Thanks for your help.   <Title renamed by MOD>

Sometimes I find it a bit slow to switch to the aligned faceplate.This is because alignment faceplates are generally aligned to selections by default. It's a pain in the arse to change it.Quickly align margins, plate centre, bleed tool.Also wish adobe would add an align to reference line feature. 

Liebe Community,ich kann InDesign zur Zeit nicht öffnen.  Kurz sieht es so aus als würde es laden dann bricht es ab wie bei einem Absturz aber ohne Fehlermeldung. Alle anderen Programme lassen sich öffnen. Hat noch jemnad gerade Probleme damit?Liebe GrüßeKatja

I've tried the Publish Online Feature and it worked nice (Text only Document) for me but later this day I've tried it again but the pictures were blurry.tired out all kinds of picture format and quality etc. in the advaced tab of publish online… No differenceWould be a cool Feature, easier than sending a PDF to customers but with that bug.. Impossible.I hope Adobe will fix that bug in 2017.1 but if someone here has a solution for that it would be even better Thanks!Jona

The app constantly freezes for a little while after everything what I try to do. I have 22 almost blank pages except for cover and 2 pages with plain text, used Allura font for headings text copied 1 image from browser to cover page and added PNG file I created in photoshop - linked from local folder. That's all I have in the project.   Does anyone know what issue might be? Tried to restart my PC didn't help. I watched my CPU and everything from HW prespective is ok. Also the app often stop responding and have to kill it trough task manager..     <Title renamed by MOD>

Dear,   I would like to have a dynamic orthographe correction in english. My Indesign is however installed in French (no problem I would like to keep it that way). When changing in 'edition', 'preferences', 'automatic correction' the language in english. My text is completely underlined with french correction suggestions. I'm exporting InDesign files to PDF and creating paragraph styles with export tags to create an accessible PDF. Every time I try and do this from the original document I created, the tags never show up in the PDF. I have to create a new InDesign document and copy and paste everything to that document for the export tags to show up.    Why would this be happening, and how I prevent it?      <Title renamed by MOD>

Hi there, I received a pdf with comments most likely made in adobe acrobat. When trying to place the pdf in Indesign, all comments are lost / invisible? Does anyone know a workaround? Tried multiple options of compressing the pdf, different export and import-setting, so far unsuccessfull. happy for help 🙂      <Title renamed by MOD>

This is totally out of the blue, one second all my text boxes work fine, not a problem.im using the same font, in fact the same paragraph style  Ive used in documents for my assignments for months. In fact the very last text box with the same fonts and same paragraphy styles is operating fine and I can make new linked text boxes with those.But all of a sudden without me doing anything I can think of all my text boxed get a big white and blue O added on the bottom and when I try and click the bottom node to link to a new text box I get  Opentype properties are not applicable  and it won't link to other text boxes. Thus totally stuck and cannot continue my work I tried to package the indesign file with the photos and fonts. But the Uploader won't allow zip files and cant upload all the photos and fonts.But the problem has started on page 39 with the Throne Page Development test box in the middle.What on earth has happened? And how do I fix it.Help please

Aloha,My colleges created a 200+ page document as 8.5 x 11 with facing pages. They are now wanteding to number each spread with it's own page number. For instance: pages 2-3 (spread) would be page 1, pages 4-5 would be page 2, pages 6-7 would be page 3.  We are hoping to do this via Master Pages/Automatically and not have to do these manually or recreate the document...the right way. Any help would be greatly appreaciated.Mahalo,Roger O.

Hi, there guys.I have a bit of a question which someone might have a solution/s.Every month I am producing multiple reports (30) made specifically for different clients but the content commentary (description) are almost the same. I make the initially report with the content (with words and charts) then that same description goes to the rest of the report.All the reports are templated the same for all (2 columns with Paragraph and Character Styles).My challenge is how to "improve" my workflow when revising the report. Because when the main report changes, all the reports change as well.Internally, we made sure the initial report is checked until it is absolutely correct. But there are times that there are last minute changes and that means I have to manually change everything. When that happens, I do Find/Change on All Documents then export as pdf.Initially, I thought of using linked Indesign Story and the edits will be done with InCopy and using a script to export all pdfs at onc

I just updated to InDesign 2024 today. I chose the option remove the2023 version but keep my Preferences etc. After installing, all .indd files were not associated with the new InDesign. So I went to "Open With" and selected the new InDesign.exe file. (It did not show up in the initial list and I had to search for it). Now the files will open automatically, but the file icon for all indd files is still the blank white box instead of showing the ID logo. I have not had the same icon issue after updating both Illustrator and Photoshop to the new versions. This is on a PC running Windows 10.

Indesign CC2024 (19.5) MAC OS Sonoma 14.4.1 When I open an indesign file that I have used many times on my desktop from a packaged folder, it wants to look for the images on another user's computer where the file was originally packaged.  I also have the issue when I package a file. All links are there and nothing is pixelated. I package the file and generate a PDF. The PDF has pixelated images, like the links are missing. I open up the indesign file in the newly packaged folder and the images are pixelated but it shows the links are there. I relink the images and the images look great.  This is happening with multiple files, not just one. Is anyone else having this issue or have a solution?      <Title renamed by MOD>

Ok I have to insert a number on all odd pages in a 30 page coupon book. I need to change the number for each book, there are 500 books How do I automate this I cant seem to make this easy!! The file attached is book 1 the next book needs to be numbered 1001. 

Hello all, I am familiar with InDesign's interactive options, but I recently read an article published by Adobe about the Publish Online capability within InDesign and the examples they included looked to have advanced animation capabilities, beyond my understanding of what InDesign allows. Is this because I am a novice at PDF interactions, or are they using other applications to create this effect?Here is the article I am referring to. I am working in the most recent version of InDesign. When I open a packaged file received from a client. I am given the message from InDesign that fonts are missing. I then open Fontbook and load the supplied fonts. When I go back to InDesign they are not loaded. I have waited a good 5 minutes for InDesign to sync. Still nothing. If I save the document and quit InDesign, then relaunch it, the fonts are present. Anyone know how to fix this. In the past once fonts were loaded they would simply update in InDesign. Im hoping I dont have to quit and relaunce so many times throughout the day. Also, there have been instances where I load the font and they update in InDesign. I can see they visually have updated, but InDesign still shows an error of them missing and also has them highlighted in pink - even though they appear correct. If I follow the same process of quit and relaunch it resolves the issue, but again, trying to avoid constant quit and relaunch. 

I always use the selection tool (black arrow) to drag any control handle on a selected image frame to crop the image.But out of the blue, when I drag the control handle it 'resizes' the image, but does not crop it.I cannot seem to find the correct help NOT to resize, but crop my image.{Renamed by MOD}
