My laptop (Windows 10 with everything updated) crashed and I have to reinstall Adobe InDesign CS6. I have a valid serial number and the installer initiated without any issue, but when it got to the end, it said:   Installation Failed Your installation encountered errors.   It has an "error summary" but I was not able to open it to identify the issue as there's no program can open it. If I could open the summary, I would be able to see what's the problem.   I have reinstalled CS6 in April 2024 and I have no problem at that time, but two months later, I couldn't install it again this time.   Any suggestions/comments are much appreciated.   Thank you.   <Title renamed by moderator>

Hello!   The following problem, please for quick help I am now desperate, because I have to do it. no temporal resources, our intern is unfortunately also here 😞   I am supposed to put a QR code on our business cards, which should be scanned with a camera app and then allows the possibility to create contacts by scan - unfortunately only the link to the LInkedIn profile works during the scan.... Please don't refer me to the Adobe help page, I've already scoured all the forums. the series documentary. sparks too, just the "contact creation QR code" doesn't... E.g. my VK in the attachment, on the screenshot you can see the Indesign file with the placeholders.   I thank you in advance for any help as to what the problem could be!! When I try to start Adobe InDesign it shows the startup screen, but stays stuck on 'Loading extensions' Eventually it will use all available memory in the computer, which after it will crash with Windows Task Manager reporting 'Your system has not enough memory, please close some apps'I have tried to following:-Reinstall Adobe InDesign with and without saving user settings-Updated GPU Driver to latest version-Installed all Windows Updates-Creative Cloud is up-to-date-InDesign is up-to-date-Performed sfc /scannow, dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth & chkdsk C: /f /r-Restarted the computer-After restarting it, have all other applications closed, just open Adobe InDesign. it still crashes-Also crashes when trying it on a different user-Disabled the Anti-Virus during startup of InDesign-The system is able to run InDesign according to Adobe's requirementsHope you can help me with this issue The system specs:Model: HP Z1 Entry Tower G5 Motherboard: HP 8591Processor: Int

Hello community, we are suddenly experiencing a problem on imported Word docs (originated in Google Docs): all the rows of very long tables in the documents are importing as header rows. This creates a massive problem as the tables do not fit into a page and we have to use a workaround to get to see the long table and then convert the rows to "body rows" before they will allow to split across text boxes.   Not looking for an naswer on how to do the above, rather asking if anyone knows what is causing the problem? It must be something inherited from the Google or Word doc. It seems to have started recently. Ideas?   <Title renamed by MOD>

As mentioned above. When I go to relink in any of my indesign files - using any folders - the Search for Missing Links in This folder option is greyed out. Have tried other servers, files and folders - same issue. Have tried deleting preferences and going back to default settings - same issue. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling indesign - same issue. Any ideas why its greyed out now?

I have a link to an Excel 365 workbook ‘database’ on OneDrive. The contents are being updated by numerous people, with field lengths varying wildly – if those people have a design brief, I don't have access to it. It would be so nice if a database-connector-like-thing could present the relevant sheet as an InDesign-compliant CSV Data Source to InDesign Data Merge. That way I could quickly* Update Data Source and Preview how my document design copes with any new and exciting innovations in the six fields I need to ingest, which are currently varying between empty, to formatted poems, to long essays. Has anybody heard of such a Creative Cloud App or MS 365 Add-In? *instead of saving a copy locally, converting line-breaks to something unique, and exporting a CSV.

Hello- I have both Adobe InDesign and Illustrator. I have a font called Philosopher that I purchased and is available in InDesign but I cannot find the font file anywhere and I want to add it to Creative Cloud so that I can use it in Illustrator as well. I'm confused. I thought that if a link was missing from an InDesign document, it would alert me with an error. In this document, there are dozens of images that display on the page, but don't have a corresponding link in the Links panel. The document also indicates that there are no errors. If the images were embedded, they would still show in the Links panel. When I export the document for printing, these images are all pixelated, obviously. How does this happen? Another agency set up the document and claim to have sent us all the links for the translation, but I can't find these ghost images in the folder. Any ideas?       <Title renamed by  MOD>

Hi,   My InDesign app crashed, and the automatic recovery didn't work. An Adobe error report keeps popping up and close the app. I can open the file through "Open Recent," but it seems to be corrupted since I'm unable to save it as a PDF or IDML. Is there a way to repair this file? Should I copy-paste the content to a new file ? Thanks!     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hello,for compatibility reasons we need to use inDesign 2019 vers. 14.0 as it is linked with an other Software in our company. Now after changing some hardware to newer PCs with Windows 11, theres a problem with the set-up from inDesign 2019.We get this Error   English Version: We tried compatibility mode, everything is up to date, we tried the registry fix from Adobe, starting as admin, nothing works. Hi, I produce digital programmes for sporting events using InDesign and using Adobe’s Publish Online platform. I’ve been working with Opta to try and include one of their live stats widgets into the programme but haven’t managed to get the integration to work so far. Whenever I reopen InDesign 2024, some old files open themselves once the program is fully launched. These aren't files that were open when the program shut down, so they're not being recovered by the program - they just reopen themselves every time. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi, in the pdf file I have inserted links that allow you to go between specific pages (during creating process in Indesign). is it possible to block the native page-by-page transition in the pdf file browsing mode? Hi, I'm currently working on a project in Adobe InDesign, and I've encountered a challenge that I could use some assistance with. I'm trying to create a document that includes both landscape and portrait page layouts, with the ability to switch between them as needed within the document.I've tried following the usual steps for creating master pages and applying them to pages, but I couldn't find a specific "Section Break" option as seen in some other software like Microsoft Word. This has left me a bit confused about how to effectively manage the page orientation changes within my document.Could someone please provide guidance on how to achieve this mixed landscape and portrait page layout in Adobe InDesign? Any tips, tricks, or alternatve methods would be greatly appreciated. I`m adding screenshot for more clarity. I want page 20 to be portrait separetly and page 21 below it

An InDesign file was created on a Mac and used a 5-point star glyph from the Zapf Dingbats font. When the file is opened on a PC (same version of InDesign), no missing font notification appears, but that glyph is replaced with the outlined rectangle and the 5-point star does not exist. I have a terrible mess of an InDesign document created originally from a PDF file, whose structure reflects the PDF file rather too closely. Among other things, this means that most paragraphs are unthreaded, separate text frames/stories – and even worse, all text frames are embedded inside graphic frames that cover the entire page. This is not tenable, naturally, so as a first step, I would like to get all the text frames moved out of these graphic frames (so they’re direct children of the layer), but since the document is about 300 pages, and there’s probably about four text frames per page on average, I’d prefer to script it. But… how? In the UI, it’s a simple matter of opening the Layers panel and dragging the frame on to the layer, but in a script, I can’t figure out how to do it. If I just select an embedded text frame and try to move it to the base layer by doing this:  doc.selection[0].move(doc.layers.firstItem());  – then I get an error messa

Hello,   I'm very new to InDesign, and I'm having trouble figuring out the best way to achieve something:   There are certain segments of text that I would like to "set off" from the rest of the text by placing it in boxes and/or changing the inset setting.   So far, when I select a paragraph from within my larger text box and perform object > text frame options... And adjust the insets from there, the action affects the entire text box, not just my selected text.   Is there a good way to change these settings for just a few paragraphs within my document? I don't know how to do it without messing up the placement of all the text that comes after these paragraphs.   Thank you for any help    <Title renamed by MOD>

Hallo, seit einiger Zeit habe ich das Problem, dass sich Textboxen in Indesign nach einer unbestimmten Zeit nicht mehr vernünftig bearbeiten lassen. Ich kann weder die Größe noch den Inhalt verändern, ich habe nur die Möglichkeit, die Box per Klick aufzunehmen und an anderer Stelle wieder abzulegen. Nur ein Neustart von Indesign kann das Problem beheben. Weiß jemand, wie man das Problem beheben kann?   <Title renamed by MOD>

I tried many times but was not able to insert a specific jpeg file into InDesign. Other files worked. I tried saving as PDF and jpg but still don't see anything other than a white box.

Please help! i've uninstalled and reinstalled hoping it will help.  When i use my text tool to draw a new text box, and i drag and draw the box, it just selects the box that might be in the layer beneath, or if there is no layer its not inserting a box.   I've had no problem with it, until this morning its like my shortcuts or autoselect has been turned on, and i cant get it to work! please help
