InDesign

I'm trying to make photo cards that are 3x4". I have 53 photos and I want one on a page. The script gets all the pages, but I can't figure out how to change the page size when I use the script. I keep getting 8 1/2x11. I have a master page set up. Anyone know how I can do this?Thanks!

HiI have some basic knoweldge of InDesign. But I find the available tutorials on Adobe's web site are somewhat out of date. Can someone recommend a good place to learn InDesign with AI integration?Thanks

Hi! I am working on putting Arabic text into an InDesign document that is currently in English. I've switched my Language preferences to English/Arabic and reinstalled the InDesign app. I'm trying to copy, cut and paste the Arabic translation from Word into the InDesign document, but when I paste the selected text it shows up as blank. Any help troubleshooting is much appreciated as I have limited experience with InDesign. Thanks! 

Hi InDesign Community, Recently, I have had issues with printing InDesign documents.  We have our brand gold colour which is CMYK: C35, M45, Y90, K30 For some reason, when I export the PDF it looks a gold colour, however, when I go to print, it turns out a dark green colour instead.  Would anyone know the reason for this inconsistency? Could it be the print settings when I export the document? Or if anybody has had this issue before with certain colour codes and how they fixed it? Thanks so much!     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hello, Today I had to configure Apple Mail on my Macbook (M2) that I didn't use before.  The funny gift was if Apple Mail is open in InDesign some shortcuts doesn't work, like space bar (hand tool) ora duplicate object holding down Alt.If I close Apple Mail the InDesign shortcuts start working again. Have you ever notice that? hi there, desperate, for some reason i'm having trouble sending a picture of a nut (bolt) to the front of the circle icon, see pic. i had no issues placing the other items on top of the circles but this one will not work, i've looked at layers etc but can't work it out. tearing my hair out ready to put my fist through the screen!!! oh and there is NO option to arrange to front upon right clicking the image. help please!       <Title renamed by MOD>  

Hallo zusammen, habe das Problem, dass ich meine Leertaste nur mit Hilfe der Hochstelltaste nutzen kann. Wenn ich nur mit der Leettaste versuche ein Leerzeichen im Text zu schreiben, werde ich gefragt, ob ich vor dem Beenden noch sichern möchte. Auch kann ich mit dem halten der Leertaste das Dokument nicht bewegen. Was kann ich tun. Habe schon die Voreinstellungen zurückgesetzt, leider ohne Erfolg!Danke von jetzt für Hilfe!

Hello everyone, Im running a Mac Studio M2 Ultra with an XDR display. When I go through my INDD file clicking on links and such the display tries to preview but it gives me  black (no preview). Then if I move my mouse the black preview is almost attached to it and I can move it around just by moving my mouse. Seems like a video card issue to me. I tried recording it using "Screen Recording" (Command/Shift/5) but of course it works perfect when I have it recording. As soon as I turn off the Screen Recording it goes right back to flaching big blocks of black. I recorded it with my phone. Im going to post those. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have a long document with chapters. Each chapter has different color elements. One of those is the headings in the chapter are that color. Rather than creating a style for ever single chapter, I was wondering if there was a way to have the base paragraph style and then character styles to change the color. Is there some way to automate applying the character styles based on chapter?  Something like  if chapter is 1 apply chapter 1 heading style, if 2 then apply chapter 2 heading style.  Maybe GREP or a script but i'm no good at writing either of those. Any suggestions?

Hello,  I'm having trouble with the colour picker.    If I want to colour a box / circle etc black, it responds by making the colour grey.  If I want to colour the box pink, it responds by making the colour green.    I'd read up online and a few suggestions were to clear the cache (which I did).    It's a bit annoying as I can't continue with my work.    Does anyone know what to do?   Many Thanks.   <Title renamed by MOD>  

Hallo,ich habe ein Inhaltsverzeichnis aus verschiedenen Überschriften im InDesign Dokument erstellt. Hier habe ich verschiedene Ebenen und verschiedene Absatzformate benutzt. Ich habe nun das Problem, das die Überschriften nicht in der richtigen Reihenfolge angezeigt werden. Auch durch schieben in eine andere Ebene wird die Sortierung nicht in der richtigen Reihenfolge dargestellt. Hat jemand einen Tipp an welchem Punkt ich hier noch etwas einstellen kann um die Sortierung zu beeinflussen?

I'm trying to create header images for a document I'm designing for work, and figured I'd use the Text to Image function, since it's worked well for me in the past and I wanted to save time by not hand drawing something as minor as a header. Prompts are getting me the right images and style is exactly what I'm looking for, but it absolutely refuses to honor the dimensions of the frame I've created, despite selecting "frame dimensions" in the drop down. I've done this probably 50 times before with frames of all shapes and sizes, and it's worked well.   Because it's a header image, it's 7.5" x 1.5", so long and narrow. The best it can do is 7.5" x 4.275" and can't be cropped to fit without losing so much the image is unreadable (mountains on one side, descending into plains).   I've tried it in Photoshop as well, with the same issues. Hi Everyone,  I dont know where the disconnect is happening in InDesign 2024 new update - but whenever I place logo pngs that were perfect in previous versions of indesign, they place blurry & pixelated as if the link were broken. I guarantee links are correct, high quality display is selected - and the image files were placing perfectly before. Is anyone else experiencing this issue in InDesign?    While Im on the topic, when I export jpgs and pngs from InDesign as well - they export low quality at Max 300 ppi - and I was told I have to now export at 2400ppi (which makes the file huge and unable to use on some platforms). 

My laptop (Windows 10 with everything updated) crashed and I have to reinstall Adobe InDesign CS6. I have a valid serial number and the installer initiated without any issue, but when it got to the end, it said:   Installation Failed Your installation encountered errors.   It has an "error summary" but I was not able to open it to identify the issue as there's no program can open it. If I could open the summary, I would be able to see what's the problem.   I have reinstalled CS6 in April 2024 and I have no problem at that time, but two months later, I couldn't install it again this time.   Any suggestions/comments are much appreciated.   Thank you.   <Title renamed by moderator>

Hello!   The following problem, please for quick help I am now desperate, because I have to do it. no temporal resources, our intern is unfortunately also here 😞   I am supposed to put a QR code on our business cards, which should be scanned with a camera app and then allows the possibility to create contacts by scan - unfortunately only the link to the LInkedIn profile works during the scan.... Please don't refer me to the Adobe help page, I've already scoured all the forums. the series documentary. sparks too, just the "contact creation QR code" doesn't... E.g. my VK in the attachment, on the screenshot you can see the Indesign file with the placeholders.   I thank you in advance for any help as to what the problem could be!! When I try to start Adobe InDesign it shows the startup screen, but stays stuck on 'Loading extensions' Eventually it will use all available memory in the computer, which after it will crash with Windows Task Manager reporting 'Your system has not enough memory, please close some apps'I have tried to following:-Reinstall Adobe InDesign with and without saving user settings-Updated GPU Driver to latest version-Installed all Windows Updates-Creative Cloud is up-to-date-InDesign is up-to-date-Performed sfc /scannow, dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth & chkdsk C: /f /r-Restarted the computer-After restarting it, have all other applications closed, just open Adobe InDesign. it still crashes-Also crashes when trying it on a different user-Disabled the Anti-Virus during startup of InDesign-The system is able to run InDesign according to Adobe's requirementsHope you can help me with this issue The system specs:Model: HP Z1 Entry Tower G5 Motherboard: HP 8591Processor: Int

Hello community, we are suddenly experiencing a problem on imported Word docs (originated in Google Docs): all the rows of very long tables in the documents are importing as header rows. This creates a massive problem as the tables do not fit into a page and we have to use a workaround to get to see the long table and then convert the rows to "body rows" before they will allow to split across text boxes.   Not looking for an naswer on how to do the above, rather asking if anyone knows what is causing the problem? It must be something inherited from the Google or Word doc. It seems to have started recently. Ideas?   <Title renamed by MOD>

As mentioned above. When I go to relink in any of my indesign files - using any folders - the Search for Missing Links in This folder option is greyed out. Have tried other servers, files and folders - same issue. Have tried deleting preferences and going back to default settings - same issue. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling indesign - same issue. Any ideas why its greyed out now?
