Nachdem meine Kollegen und ich gestern unsere M1-Macbook Pros auf macos Ventura 13.3 aktualisiert haben, erhalten wir ALLE beim Öffnen von InDesign-Dateien aus dem Creative Cloud Files-Order die Fehlermeldung… Fehlender erforderlicher Parameter "from" für Methode "open" PDF-Dateien werden ebenfalls nicht mehr im Acrobat geöffnet. Acrobat öffnet sich, die „Zuletzt verwendet“-Liste ist leer… und mehr passiert nicht! Da dieser Fehler offenbar vor Jahren schon mal auftrat, haben wir die Lösungsansätze dazu bereits ausprobiert (Programm zum Öffnen neu zuweisen, Zugriffsrechte kontrollieren) – ohne Erfolg! InDesign und Acrobat liegen in der aktuellsten Version (18.2.1.455 und 23.001.20093) vor.Die Dateien öffnen ohne Probleme über den Datei > öffnen-Dialog aus den Programmen heraus, aber das kann allenfalls ein kurzfristiger Workaround sein und nicht für Programme, für die wir monatlich hunderte von Euro ausgeben!

I have an ID document created by another. The stray line at the bottom of the table cannot be selected, dragging the bottom of the table will not hide it, but instead hides the table rows. It appears embedded. Does anyone know what is causing it and how I can remove it? Thanks much!       <Title renamed by MOD>

No me funciona el atajo "comando + alt/mayúsculas" en InDesign para redimensionar una imagen/objeto. Llevo toda la tarde buscando soluciones por internet pero no encuentro nada. ¿Alguien tiene alguna idea de como solucionarlo? Gracias

Hello everyone, quite a newbie here.    I'm creating a timeline that is split into 3 pages.  I'm adding text boxes for the centuries and one of them falls in between 2 pages.  Is there a way to have the text centered like the other boxes, but split correctly in the different pages?  The page wil be cut where the black dashed line is. Hi There I've published online before with no issues, but for this document, none of my buttons appear. The rollover does not display and the inter-document linking does not work. Hi is there a way to stop indesign reducing file size when exporting to pdf?     <Title renamed by MOD>

I've created a nightmare. I'm almost done with a photo book and can no longer save it to either the internal drive or to an external one. This started happening a month ago, so I enabled iCloud for the Mac to save the files and I thought to free up space. Instead, the cloud grabbed all my files from the desktop and completely reconfigured it. the desktop all but disappeared. I found the files on the cloud, and was able to recover all. But in trying to save the document, InDesign says there's not enough memory. I then purchased more cloud memeory from apple, but the problem remains. InDesign is reading my memory as being overloaded because the Mac reads both my internal drive and the cloud storage and adds them together. My internal memorey says I have 77gb remaining for storage, but the system storage says it's over the limit. I cannot save the book to either drive. It's a conundrum.    <Title renamed by Moderator>

Everytime I want to open InDesign - it immediately stops opening itself at the loading screen. The only way I've been able to get it to open is by uninstalling then reinstalling the app - every time.. This seems to be an issue across the community. Hope this is in the works to be fixed stat. good morning community, I want to know if someone can suggest me the pro way to create a document with a header like the one marked with the red curly bracket. In this example clicking the first house icon go to the TOC, every number go to respective chapter number. This header must be present in every page.   last question: to create the chapter TOC like the onemarked with the magenta curly bracket (10, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3), would you use indesign's book function (i'd rather not) or what else ?thx   p.s.:a glass of Amarone (or Traminer) for the best answers;D     <Title renamed by moderator>

Hello, I am trying to upload a pdf made in either indesign or illustrator. When i export or save as to pdf from these programs the lineweights appear as i want them to, but when i upload the pdf to google drive or send them via email the lineweights become extra thick. I have  been searching for fixes for this issue and have had no luck yet.      I have attached the files (excpet the illustrator file because it would not upload) if someone could help that would be great. Hola, tengo el siguiente problema que no logro resolver: cuando exporto un pdf interactivo (form con cuadros de textos para rellenar) tengo el problema que el texto al escribir se pisa letra por letra, o sea, no escribe letras atras de letra sino que escribes y ves como va sumando letra por letra por una encima de la otra (como si fuera un bloque de una sola letra posible). es muy extraño el error.E intentado cambiar la tipografia de inicio y con algun pdf me lo soluciona, pero con otros pdf no, sigue persistiendo el error. pareciera ser un error de la tipografia que toma para el form. alguno le ha sucedido?

I cannot find a forum post with this topic.   This is the PDF output of markdown from Obsidian note-taking software showing the default styling for hashtags that link search terms or notes together accross notes.   Is there anyway to make a style for this in indesign? Hey gang, While experimenting with asking the (Artificial Intelligence) Text to Image (Beta) to generate images into graphic frames, we have experienced this: After saving, closing, and re-opening an InDesign document, we found that some of the graphic frames were now empty of any AI-generated content. They vanished. Has anyone else experienced that?

Hello all, I would love some help on an issue I've been having recently.  In both InDesign and Illustrator, I make banners for work. When I go to export, these are my normal settings I use: The issue is, it is coming out at the correct dimensions, but is extremly blurry. When I up the resolution to 300 but keep everything else the same, the image looks crytal clear. For example, this is 700x200, 72dpi; which exports to exactly 700x200.Then the below is 700x200, exported with 300dpi, which changes the final image to 2917 × 833....(sized down to fit in this box)They are both attached as well. Does anyone know how I can fix this??Thanks in advance!!

I am processing a textbook that has a formatting situation I've never had to deal with in bulk  — multiple endnote references in a row. I've  encountered books with the occasional twofer, and those are easy enough to spot and adjust during normal formatting, but this book has a dozen or more per chapter, and for all reasons of efficiency and consistency I'd like to automate the process.   Here's a typical clip—   The text style is BODY and may be one of several variants.   The endnote style REFS is applied by the Endnote setup of the document, which puts all elements in the style (i.e., leaves the reference marker Normal, not superscripted). It can be assumed that there will be two to five markers in a row, with a comma but no spaces between them. I have been working with indesign for almost 20 years.But suddenly I can no longer write in indesign.   No matter whether I press Enter, Return, or these combined with Shift, I always get a page break instead of a column break. But if you look at the key assignment, Return is correctly set for column break. I'm getting a continuous beach ball when launching InDesign on my iMac (OS 13.6.9 and up to date). It keeps spinning for hours and the only way out of it is to force quit the program.   I've uninstalled and reinstalled Creative Cloud and all of my Adobe apps but it still keeps happening. I've also tried the other solutions suggested online but to no avail.   The computer is running smoothly. I work on files in Google Drive but that has worked without any problems in the past.   Any ideas as to what could be wrong.     <Title renamed by MOD>

I have a panel, and I want to dynamically set different font families, font colors, and font sizes for the controls on the panel, such as EVEStaticTextWidget, EVEButtonWidget, and others. I couldn't find any information on this in the SDK documentation, and there are no relevant examples in the sample code. Does the SDK itself not support this? Does anyone know how to do this?"  

a printer wants me to convert all rgb files to cmyk using his profile = GRACoL2013_CRPC6.icc i placed it where he wants it on my computer but it doesn't appear on the profile list drop down menu. i'm on a mac studio latest os and using indd 2024. thank you ahead of time.     <Title renamed by MOD>

What is the status of this "problem"? From what I remember - it wasn't "working" as expected?  

These random horizontal lines have appeared in my InDesign project, and I can't get rid of them. They seem to only be in the grey boxes I've made using the Rectangle Tool - these are black, with the opacity lowered to 20%.I've tried changing the colour and the opacity. The lines change colour to match the colour selected for the boxes, but when the opacity is at 100% I don't notice the lines.I've tried turning off all the different grids and guides and also turned off anti-aliasing, but had no luck. The screenshot is taken when in Preview Screen Mode. Does anybody know how to get rid of these and what's causing them?

How can I have both english and Hebrew text written correctly? I tried all paragraph composers but none get both written properly. Either Hebrew comes out left to right or english from right to left.   <Title renamed by moderator>    

In InDesign, I’m using the GREP expression (?<=.)/(?=.) to locate all occurrences of the slash character / throughout a document. For example, I want to find the character / in Color/Colour or American English/British English in order to apply a certain styling to the slash. As a next step, I want to limit this to all words/strings that do not begin with either https, https or www, so the slashes in https://usa.gov/about or www.gov.uk/about should not be included in the results. Lone slashes should be ignored. How can this be achieved? I have managed to find all words/strings that begin with either http or www with \<www|\<http, however, I’m not able to combine the two. I’ve tried the following, based on an answer to my question on Stack Overflow (https://stackoverflow.com/a/78494627/3103254), which should work with the boost regex engine InDesign GREP is using (https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/grep-what-is-the-base-syntax-of-indesign-grep/td-
