I have developed an interactive PDF in Adobe InDesign and exported it using Adobe PDF (Interactive). The PDF contains multiple buttons that use Show/Hide Buttons and Forms, layer visibility control, page navigation, and objects set as "Hidden Until Triggered".The PDF works as expected when opened in Adobe Acrobat Reader, where all interactive buttons correctly show and hide layers and perform the assigned actions.However, when the same PDF is opened in Microsoft Edge, the interactive functionality does not work correctly. Some buttons are visible but do not respond, and the show/hide actions are not executed.My questions are:Does Microsoft Edge fully support InDesign interactive PDF features such as Show/Hide Buttons and Forms and Hidden Until Triggered objects? Are there specific export settings in InDesign that improve compatibility with Edge? Is this a limitation of Edge's built-in PDF viewer, or could there be an issue with the PDF export itself? I export a PDF using the following statement, but sometimes there are exceptions. hello all, i attached below my parent page snapshot. i want to create more than 500pages using same parents page but the real problem all normal pages are had different contents i want to pick from word document. so any one can assist me to get a easy solution without overriding method. i have deadline only 5days 

I have an indesign document with a ton of different images, 1 on each page of the doc. I’ve updated a few of these links today and the newly linked updated images have this icon on the bottom left corner which I’ve never seen before. Any idea what this is or what it means? These are not text boxes, there are no primary text frames in this document and no threaded text.It is definitely attached to the linked image and nothing else, as it moves around with the image when I move the image.   

I am trying to open files on Indesign and they load and load but do not open. They will address if there are links that need to be updated, which I have selected don’t update, and update modified links, and the files will still not load. I thought it may have something to do with box.com where I stored the file, so I transferred it locally onto my laptop and still no luck. 

Anyone else fine this strange? Yes, I know I can obviously make my own, or make presets, but it’s still pretty silly, isn’t it? Can we petition for an update? 

(05/08/2026, version 21.5, updated yesterday) Glad for the option to delete all AI generated alt-text... if only it would work properly. The remove all button doesn’t recognize the generated alt-text and pretends there is nothing to delete. This document has 208 pages and there is several pictures on each of them. Having AI generated descriptions on our images erodes the trust our clients have in our products, and I had to find roundabout techniques to delete them directly in the exported PDF because as a professional, I can not afford the time to delete them all by hand, one by one in InDesign. Thus, neither me or my colleagues have touched the descriptions : they are as they were generated (without our consent) when this feature was pushed without notice. So the feature should recognize them as AI generated text to be deleted, and just does not. I keep being dissatisfied with how this whole situation have been handled since it’s been reported month ago.  Dialog box says “No AI-genera

I recently upgraded to Mac OS 27.0.1 Golden Gate. ID is 21.6. I have a file that has a very odd color rendering. It has a gray overlay on it. The PDF created from it (any settings) looks fine. OS file preview looks fine. File color settings are the same as all my other ID files that are fine. It looked fine before the OS upgrade. Tried running the file through the IDML route - no change. Any ideas?Indesign viewpress PDFOS file preview 

Hello everyone.This composite font is really confusing, I can't collect it, nor can I take it away.There used to be a script that didn't seem to work with compound fonts. Has anyone really researched it?https://community.adobe.com/questions-671/font-packaging-script-error-in-indesign-892434For example, can you collect the fonts in the document below into the Document fonts directory?Sometimes packaging can be collected, but sometimes packaging is not ineffective for many fonts.

This morning, InDesign was updated (version 21.6), and the split-view layout no longer works—or rather, it works only partially: the open document remains visible only on the left side, while the right side of the window is blank. I checked the zoom and page alignment, but nothing is visible.

Hello,I’m working on setting up a document where I have 8” x 9” pages forming a 16” x 9” spread. I’m trying to set up a 5 column grid on my master spread that jumps the gutter, but I can only find ways to set the number of columns per PAGE, and not to set the margins for the spread. In essence, I need a 16” x 9” page with a 5 column grid, but I need to set it up using two 8” x 9” pages so it can be printed as a spread. I functionally need 2.5 columns per page to create the grid structure I am looking for, but InDesign doesn’t support fractional columns, either.Can anyone tell me if there is a clean way to achieve this?Thanks!

Help! All my automatic hyphens disappear when exporting a pdf. First I thought it was all hyphens but in closer inspection all soft- and discretionary hyphens remain. I've tried everything from uninstalling, downgrading, updating, restarting my computer... Nothing seems to work. I packaged the file and sent it to a friend and he was able to output a pdf with the hyphens, but I can't do it on my own inDesign (using the latest version, legit Cloud version)

I'm working on a product catalog in InDesign, and when I select my .csv Data Source nothing is populating. I've done these many times before, and there is nothing wrong with my template or excel based file.  I've tried restarting my computer, logging out of CC, moving the InDesign file to a new document, and resaving the Excel file as a .csv.  I should mention that on earlier versions of the .csv file a few days ago, everything merged perfectly. Any ideas as to why nothing happens when I select "data source"? Thanks very much!

I urgently need some help. My deadline is today, and I can’t open the InDesign file. Can anyone help me open the file?

I downloaded Indesign not too long ago for school reasons; and the only way I’ve been able to get things to move is by arrow keys. My selection tools don’t work (direct, and regular selection), and they don’t work even when I’m trying to make text boxes bigger and or more stretched out. I’ve seen this question asked before and nothing has helped. I have the latest version and everything. 

I am using InDesign 2021. I’m wanting to create a multi-level bulleted list for product features. The first or top level will be just your standard solid black bullet with text in bold. The second level will be indented and bullet will be hollow or outlined and text in regular. Example:• Simple One Touch          • The simplified design• Pour & Paint          • Spraying coatings• Fast & Easy          • Clean-upI tried looking it up in Learning Center for doing either bulleted or numbered list, but wasn’t making any head way. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Cuando trato de eliminar o agregar una página nueva, se cuelga el programa. Además no me deja abrirlo como archivo IDML ni copiarlo a otro archivo nuevo.He probado con todo lo que encontré en repost como eliminar el caché o el archivo Indesing Resing y no arreglo el problema.Espero alguien pueda ayudarme.

InDesign 2026, exporting to a small PDF file doesn't work!!!! The PDF is way too large.

Currently having an issue with my undo/history function. I seem to only be able to go back 2 or 3 commands before the entire history disappears. pls help!

When working in InDesign, entire objects (text fields, color areas, linked images) disappear and are no longer displayed. Not even their frames. The layers cannot be selected by clicking on the location where the elements are located. Zooming into the document or changing the view mode doesnt change anything in the visability of the objects.  However, the objects are still there in the layers window. Similarly, when exporting a PDF, the invisible objects become visible again. I can make the objects visible again by copying and pasting them onto a new page or by saving an IDML and opening it. However, the objects keep disappearing when working in the file.Tested with GPU turned on and off.

Hello, I just paid for my InDesign subscription, but the Creative Cloud application is preventing me from installing the latest version due to hardware limitations on my computer. I need a direct download link (offline installer) for an older version that will run on my system, such as InDesign CC 2020 or CC 2021. I've already spoken with two advisors, and they gave me the 2024 version (LS20). That's why I'm here. My computer has 6 GB of RAM, and I need version 15.x or 16.x.

ざっと確認はしたのですが、すでに投稿をされているものでしたら申し訳ございません。 InDesign2025にて作業をしている際に困っている事象なのですが、テキストボックス内に打ち込んだ黒文字（11.5Q）に白の線をつけ（0.5mm）さらにその文字にルビをつける、長体平体をかけるなどの動作をするとその文字と前後にのみ、ふちがかぶるようになってしまいます。（ルビなどの処理をする前には文字のカーニングをつめてもふちがかぶりません） PCのスペックは以下です。iMac 24インチチップ　Apple M1OS　バージョン14.6.1（Sonoma） もしこちらの現象の回避方法、原因等お分かりの方がおりましたらご教示いただけますと幸いです。 よろしくお願いいたします。
