In InDesign, when all links in a document are missing, the workflow is very inefficient. Right now, I have to:1. Click the first missing link,2. .Shift-click the last one to select them all,3. Choose Relink to Folder…,4. .Then finally pick the correct folder.This should be possible in one step.Please add a small icon or button in the Links panel (or in the Missing Links dialog) that immediately opens the Relink to Folder dialog for all missing links at once.This would save a huge amount of repetitive clicking, especially in large documents.

Hi everyone. I am looking for a way to make a keyboard shortcut to “Break link to paragraph style”. I have tried to do it the usual way, but when I use the new shortcut, it changes (its not kept as it is). Does anyone have a solution for this? 

Hello! I've been having issues with InDesign. The app will open, but when I try to create a new file or open an old one it crashes not just the app, but my entire display. The screen goes black with my mouse pointer still there and moving. I can't even CTL+ALT+DEL to get task manager up to force it to quit. I've updated everything I can, including the graphics display drivers. I uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign. All of my other apps seem to work ok, but I really need InDesign for a project I'm working on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

To say I am a novice at InDesign would be to insult most novices.  But I do put out a decent product knowing just what I need to know and bumbling my way through the rest.So today I am working and suddenly my tools palette disappears.  I closed the program, waited a bit, and then restarted it.  It is still missing.  I rebooted my maching (Win7).  No tools palette.  I went back to another project hoping I did something on this project that made it disappear and it would show up elsewhere.  Nope.I though that maybe it was just missing from my screen so I made the screen smaller (seeing lots of pages) hoping it had slid all the way to the left.  Nope.Nothing I do seems to bring it back.  Of course I first went into Windows and there it was checked.  I unchecked it and shut down.  Started up again and it had remained unchecked.  I checked it and my page shifted a bit to the right but still no tolls palette.Can anyone help me?Thank

pdf to indesign  (beat ) editable not working ?!

I'm having a problem with my published document here: https://indd.adobe.com/view/499aa923-8fed-445f-89ad-b20d537b7204.  No one can download the PDF. A previous user here in the forums had the same problem and it was special characters in the URL.  I don't put special characters in the name, but they are appearing on the error message URL as [working_document].pdf. It seems that InDesign adds this additional phrase to my URL (doc is named "2025 MBU Catalog"), and I don't know how to remove it. 

The latest InDesign version 21 isn't appearing in Creative Cloud available updates. I can't open a shared file as the file is saved in version 21, so it wants me to convert the file. How can I make the latestest InDesign version appear? I've reset, sign-in/out, installs all updated avail etc...  

Hello.Upon opening the most recent version of my InDesign book,I get the Book Panel window. Choosing a chapter, I try and openthat Chapter. An InDesign window pops up telling me it is opening withone button to cancel. However, it never opens and if I click"cancel", cancel never occurs or finishes. It shows a progress wheel thatnever ends, completes or stops.If I "Force Quit" InDesign, then close down Mac OS or restart, thatwindow is gone. I cannot close InDesign when that window is open. When I try and open a chapter from the Book Panel window, I get the same result.I do not know what the problem is. Any suggestions from anyoneabout this sort of thing?Each book version has its own dated folder.The version before this most recent one has all my images and fonts in it but I have already embedded my images, so if I understand this, once embedded, a new version, in a new folder, should not have a problem if images are embedded and remain in the last folder.But that may not be why I get thi

The latest update, 20.5, has removed the Center Reference Point from objects except when using Transformation Tools. This makes using the Selection Tool to move and center an object difficult. Is there a way to get the Center Reference Point back? I've searched the menus and internet, to no avail.

Bonjour,J'ai un problème depuis que j'ai réinstallé mes logiciels sur mon nouveau Macbook pro : quand je travaille, en jonglant sur les 3 logiciels Photohop, Illustrator et InDesign, mes fichiers liés ne se mettent pas à jour et un message apparait quand je veux mettre à jour les fichiers : "le fichier est deja ouvert par un utilisateur ou utilisé par une autre application. S'il est stocké sur un serveur de réseau, vous ne pouvez pas l'ouvrir tant que l'autre utilisateur ne l'a pas refermé".Je travaille sur Google Drive, mais seule, je ne partage mes dossiers avec personne d'autre.Quelqu'un peut-il m'aider à régler cela ? Merci d'avance,

I get this error when trying to open the new InDesign 2026 version:"Adobe InDesign 2026.app" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash.I've tried installing it twice with the same result. I put the InDesign 2025 back and it opens fine. 

I'm working on a product catalog in InDesign, and when I select my .csv Data Source nothing is populating. I've done these many times before, and there is nothing wrong with my template or excel based file.  I've tried restarting my computer, logging out of CC, moving the InDesign file to a new document, and resaving the Excel file as a .csv.  I should mention that on earlier versions of the .csv file a few days ago, everything merged perfectly. Any ideas as to why nothing happens when I select "data source"? Thanks very much!

Estoy teniendo problemas en la sincronizacion de algunos archivos en indesign que tengo guardados en la nube de creative cloudIntento abrir el archivo luego de haber realizados mejoras en mi PC y no logra sincronizarloNo sucede en todos los archivos solo en el último que trabajé antes de que mi PC fuera al servicio técnico.En paralelo uso otra notebook en la cual he podido trabjar perfectamente otros archivos. En esa notebook tampoco lo pudo sincronizar Otra prueba que realicé es abrir un achivo que si funciona, aplicar cambios y volverlo a guardar en la nube. Si bien aprententemente el archivo se guardó, cuando intento compartirlo me indica que "está guardando", lo cual me da la pauta que no estan sincronizados los cambios con la nube.  Alguien mas tuvo el problema? alguna solucion? 

Hi - Trying to open an .indd file from 2000. Have tried in all previous InDesign versions back to 2000, and also on previous old iMacs and laptops. Always get this message: "Cannot open the file "resume.indd". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application." As previously suggested in another thread, deleting an ~ace file would do the trick. Am not locating any pertinent file containing ~ace. I've also tried other suggestions in other threads. Nada. Any thoughts?? Thanks! 

I updated to InDesign 2026 and find If I double click a file to open in Finder window InDesign crashes. The same happens if after opening InDesign, I see previously opened files and double click the one I want to open, it crashes. It also happens when I choose File/Open/"file" If I reopen InDesign after crash the crashed file opens with it as Untitled file. Please advise

Hello,I've tried every possibilities I know of (formatting word, using different import options, updating fonts...) but can't solve this one. Placing does not work with cyrillic bold italic, only copy paste. The text is a 450+ pages novel and I'm reluctant to use copy paste as a standard workflow for future project.Can someone help?Thanks

Found something interesting & I'm not quite sure what's causing it - Basically, I have some pages with two unconnected threaded text boxes.When I fill one up the text flows normally.However, when I fill the other up after the first (in this case, big frames first, then small upper frames), all the content of the bigger frames gets pushed and doesn't start again until the content of the other frames ends.Adding text in the small upper frames seems to add pages that won't connect properly. In this shot, you can see the thread from the last "big box" going straight down, where it connects again many pages later. Strangely, the content on the first page is fine. (Well, maybe it's not strange, but I don't remember seeing this before... 🙂 ) And the file gets weirder every time I change stuff.Any ideas what's going on here?I have some experimenting to do...thanks!

I need to have a Primary Text Frame I can fill & have Smart Text Reflow work so that I can paste text & have the Primary Text Frame fill, but only one side of the spread.In this case, it may be a string of names of vegetables or state names or something, but would only fill the blue Primary Text Frame here:Since I'm not linking frames across the spread... it's not working.Any way around this?thanks!

Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my InDesign file. the margins and bleed settings appear correct in the document, but after exporting to PDF, they look different or misaligned. I’ve double-checked my export settings, but nothing seems off. Could someone explain why this happens and how to fix it?

I’m trying to set up a baseline grid in InDesign that stays perfectly consistent across facing pages in a print layout. Even though I’ve aligned text to the grid, the lines don’t match up between left and right pages, especially with different margins or columns. How can I make the baseline grid uniform across the entire spread?

Dear All,This is my 1st question on AC (Adobe Community), so i will explain what i need here in details and excuse me about my few or even none Experienced in Coding specially in Javascript.I have a book with many INDD files, these files has a lot of images and objects and text frames are anchored to main text box.i was searched on AC for way to release all my anchored object and text frames from main text frame. so i found script way.i found one its name "ReleaseAnyAnchor" and created by "Dave Saunders" to release anchored object (Graphic/text/else) But one by one. and this will take too much time from me to release all the objects on the book. When pressing right-click on an image the app crashes/shuts down.I already tried to remove the cache. Does anybody have an idea on how to fix?
