Since 2015, there are no more interesting inovations. I think it's an insolence that Lightroom can not export 4k video. That can't be a challenge for a programmer to provide a corresponding function. The are a lot of users asked for the support of PSB files in Lightroom, but Adobe do nothing. Adobe must be ashamed that file formats from their own house are not supported. For me is also a big mystery why Photoshop write a file of more that 3GB for a picture with 2 layers. There are still a lot to do but Adobe presents us again and again only small chunks. I do not know how much longer I want to pay for it.I feel confused as a customer.
The smart-collection/filter criterion Has Raw Details doesn't match proprietary raw photos with Denoise or Super Resolution applied in LR 14.4, even though the Develop > Detail panel shows Raw Details checked, and even though Has Raw Details matches Denoise and Super Resolution DNGs created by LR 14.3. To reproduce on LR 14.4 / Mac OS 15.5: 1. Download and open this catalog with six photos: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/nj7ogdzogvgsy5p0g0203/has-raw-details.2025-07-01.zip?rlkey=0lxlbxp1znyix5jmgsax06w2h&dl=0 There are six perspicuously named photos: raw-details.arw, raw-details.dng, super-resolution.arw, super-resolution.dng, denoise.arw, denoise.dng. The DNGs were made by Enhance in LR 14.3, and the ARWs had the corresponding option applied in LR 14.4. 2. Observe that the Metadata > Detail panel shows Raw Details checked for all six photos (correct). 3. Observe that the smart collection Has Raw Details and the filter column Has Raw Details
The command Metadata > Revert Capture Time To Original truncates the fractional seconds of the original capture time. This affects people who shot bursts that were synced to LR Cloud by LR 14.1. To reproduce on LR 14.1.1 / Mac OS 14.6. 1: 1. Import the attached JPEG. Observe that Metadata panel > IPTC > Date Created shows fractional seconds for the capture time: 2. Do Metadata > Edit Capture Time and change the date/time to any other date/time. 3. Do Metadata > Revert Capture Time To Original. Observe that the fractional seconds have been dropped:
When copying Lens Blur settings from a master photo to a virtual copy, or vice versa, the Focus On Subject setting is ignored. To reproduce on LR 14.5 / Mac OS 15.5: 1. Download and open this tiny catalog: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/e2rt4nem2rmmscfgikz7h/sync-lens-blur-bug.2025-08-13.zip?rlkey=8az96neuuiymbepjdq7rppen5&dl=0 It has three photos: a.jpg, a virtual copy of a.jpg (Copy), and b.jpg. 2. Observe that a.jpg has these Lens Blur settings, including a Focus Range that's been changed from the initial AI subject detection: 3. Select all three photos, with a.jpg most selected, and do Sync Settings, checking just Lens Blur and Focus On Subject. Observe that on b.jpg, all Lens Blur settings have been copied, except for Focus Range, which has been reset to the initial AI subject detection (correct): On the virtual copy a.jpg (Copy), however, the Focus Range remains the manually set range from the source photo a.jpg (incorr
Since upgrading to Lightroom 14.0.1, I have a bunch of files that LR is giving me this error message "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo". It is occurring on random (but several) files. I can see them correctly when I open them using Nikon software, so I know the files themselves are not corrupt. But I can't open them (RAW files) in LR or PS. Please help. I have the files backed up on alternative EHD but I am seeing the same error on the same files. Thanks in advance
the outcome could be more realistic - rickadobemax2025
This may have already been suggested, but it would be nice if the zoom feature in Lightroom 4 could be enabled while using the crop tool to make refined adjustments to the crop area. At present, there is only a clumsy work-around using the secondary display for refined crop adjustments.
The ai auto stacking shows the stacks closed so you can't see if it's stacked the photos correctly and then if it hasn't you have to keep opening the the auto stack slider to try guess if it's done a good job . I think it would be better if it showed the stacks open with the first photo of each stack being highlighted then you can see which photos are being put where as you move the slider.

I use the lightroom book module to make some pretty long albums (Like hundreds of pictures). Earlier this week I installed the update, and now I can't filter the pictures in a saved book to only show unused photos. This is critical when I'm using hundreds of pictures. How do I fix it?

I have a Smart Collection as shown I presume the 'all' match is an AND operator on the rules, but I'm getting images that are in collections. Am I missing something here. Also, on the filter bar under Attributes I had the virtual copy selected and thought that may have had something to do with it, but disabling the filter bar didn't change anything. Thanks for any insight.
This is going to sound very petty, but it's an annoyance that's been around for so long that it drives me crazy. Is there a way to make Lightroom remember the position of the tether bar? Whenever tethering is restarted, or just after waking the camera to continue a session, the tether bar moves back to it's default position. I hate it there and have to move it up to the top of the screen out of the way of the main window every time. While shooting products, I have to do this many times during a shoot and it just seems so weird to me. Am I the only one who cares, or have I just not been able to find this in preferences?
When tethering it's common to change lenses or batteries. This causes the "detecting camera" dialog to appear directly in the middle of the screen, and it blocks the viewer. My clients often almost reflexively hit the cancel button, meaning I need to manually restart the tether session. Capture One handles informing the user of the tether status a lot more gracefully. The current implementation isn't really appropriate when clients or other team members may be monitoring the shoot via the tether session.
Lightroom Classic 11.1, MacOS Monterey 12.0.1, M1 Max MacBook Pro The following is repeatable for me and leads to a constant and rapid memory leak that will consume all avaiable system memory:1. Add around 250 photos and some videos to Quick Collection. Select Quick Collection2. Select slideshow. Run the slideshow3. Lighroom will now leak memory at a rate of several GB per minute until all system memory is exhausted. Attempting to quit the application will hang with a spinning beachball. Memory continues to leak while the application is unresponsive until it's forced to quit.4. Now whenever I start Lightroom the same behaviour occurs - it begins leaking memory immediately, regardless of whether I attempt to run the slideshow or not5. The only way to fix this is to start Lightroom, quickly clear the Quick Collection, then force quit. Lightroom is now back to normal. In anticipation of the initial response I have reset Lightroom settings using the Opt/Shift on startup, and the
It would be lovely if I could select a field, such as a wall or sky, and tell LR to even out the tones in the brush-delineated area, to eliminate blotchiness and weird darkenings and lightenings. Existing tools seem to be not quite adequte to accomplish this in skies, a common problem. Such a tool might somehow "average" the tones' luminosity etc.
The Rec2020 colorspace (aka ITU-R BT.2020) is a critical colorspace for photography and not well supported in Lightroom Classic. Rec2020 is the preferred colorspace for HDR (and is LRC's working primaries when in HDR mode). Rec2020 is also very ideal for print-related work as it includes many printable colors which fall outside Adobe RGB / P3, and yet avoids the excess of ProPhoto (which includes many imaginary values outside the range of human vision). You cannot use it via any "edit in" options to open your image in Photoshop, which is especially important for working with RAW Smart Objects. The colorspace options in LRC preferences / external editing are limited to ProPhoto, Adobe RGB, P3, and sRGB. This would ideally be done as a "JDI", as both LRC and PS support Rec2020, we simply don't have the option in the colorspace dropdown for external editing. Note that there is limited support now in the "export" pathway (you can select file settings / color spa
Lightroom Classic WIndows 11 14.0.1 Camera Raw 17.0Checking image at 100 percent using shift-PgDn there is a noticeable delay each time I move to the next section with no tools selected in Develop. But if I select Masking, Redeye or Remove, the move on shift-PgDn is instantaneous.I was one of the original beta-testers for Lightroom while it was being developed.
When Command-E to send an image to Photoshop, (DNG from iPhone), the image is much lighter. I've been using Photoshop since verion 3 and Lightroom since version 1 and have never come across this. In order to make it work, I have to Export as PSD, only then does Photoshop match what I see in Lightroom. Any thoughts? Mac Studio 2025, M4 Max 128 GB, 15.6, latest versions of LR and PS.

I notice that LR eats all memory when you start importing images. When opened, it takes about 1.5-3GB ram. Then import 100 images, and RAM shoots up to +17GB Iv been doing some tests with smaller raw files, same thing, always goes up to 17GB ram usage. The folder i imported as test contains only 5GB of raws, and LR uses more then twice that amount to import those images? When you delete the images, 17GB ram is still in use. Then tested less images, like 30, and memory still goes up, but less, around 5GB ram extra, for images that on disk only take around 1GB. Importing more images, like +300 will not make memory to increase more then 17GB. Solution? Import images, restart LR to clear memory, edit... and ram usage will stay "normal" around 6GB during edit after some testing. Thats 10GB less then just doing an import. Whats up with that? Im on 13.5 btw [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]
