Lightroom Classic

Hi , I am creating new presets and after i apply the preset makes image look unusable, not sure how to describe it.  aditionally , i have a big problem with inconsistent editing. most of my photos are from different lighting scenarios ( weddings ) but i am unable to use previous edit because it looks totally different in new catalog! what am i doing wrong wrong?  [Moved from Lightroom ecosystem forum to Lightroom Classic forum by moderator]

Lightroom classic: when in Develop mode, dark pictures show an overlay of different colors. Similar to the black clip on the histogram.  I already try so many options, but nothing seems to fix it. When I open the image on Library, it shows the normal colors. Any idea what I am doing wrong?  Thank you! 

Here is my process when in the Lightroom Development module at times: At given times I may have a series of 5-20 images where I need to add a quick adjustment brush to each image. An example would be a portrait of a person whose hair a want to darken down a bit or a white wedding dress that I want to darken a bit to show the detail.   Question:Is there a way to keep the adjustment brush open and active as I cycle through image after image to apply the brush? So far I have not found a solution and have to continually hit the letter "K" to repoen the brush as I advance to each image. I find workflow would be speed up by allowing one to keep the adjustment brush open and active during the progression of going from image to image with my arrow keys.  Thoughts? Solutions?  -Brandon

Unfortunately, Adobe has once again made an unexpected change that can possibly break some plugins. This is the case for the very useful Keyboard Tamer plugin written by Timothy Armes. What change ? Until recently and since 2016, Lightroom was reading the keyboard shortcuts from this file :  C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic\Resources\fr\TranslatedStrings_Lr_xx_XX.txt (xx_XX being the standard language identifier i.e. fr_FR for french). Now LR is reading the shortcuts from a file named TranslatedStrings.txt in the same folder. The Keyboard Tamer plugin does its magic by modifying / adding shortcuts in the  TranslatedStrings_Lr_xx_XX.txt file. So, the plugin is still working but the created / modified shortcuts are no longer taken into account because they are not stored in the correct file. It's interesting to note that Lightroom is now back to the naming scheme that was active before 2016 (at this time, Keyboard Tamer was already broken once

I run macOS Big Sur, I have an older mac and I can't go past Big Sur, and I need to use Lightroom Classic for some important editing work. On the Adobe CC, I can find older versions of normal Lightroom to install, but none for Lightroom Classic. Who do I contact so I can get an older version that is compatible with my device

I know I can import photos from camera as DNG.But lossy DNG seem very useful. Its basically visually lossless and takes much less space.Can I set Lightroom to import files as lossy DNG?Thanks.

Every single time I try to export my photo to my computer, it just keeps on saying "Some export operations were not performed." "There was an unknown error. (1.) I even tried restarting Lightroom Classic along with updating it. Nothing is working for me.   

I downloaded the latest LRc (may 9th). Now it won't open my catalog, telling me it already being used (it's not). I uninstalled and reinstalled LRc. Shut down, restarted the mac. No joy. Everything was working fine before the LRc update. Really frustrating. MacBook Pro M3 proup to date Sequoia 15.4.1LRc 14.3.1 I uploaded the message I get 

Im mostley working with lightroom classic and phothoshop. my hard drive has crashed, 5-6 TB. will be sent and possibly be saved. it will take at least a month. i have partial backups (made a year ago) and some on the cloud. my directories are saved.  previously had a major problems with synchronization but now it works very well. Now am unsure how i best can work with my pictures that i photograph while waiting for a possibly repaired hard drive.Can i f ex open the saved directory and import new images and then revert them to the hopefully saved hard drive when it arrives? or can i use an old backup, and import new images into it. But what happens to all my projects in different directories, as well as all my albums in flickr, that i have saved in classic. What is the best to do in this situation. Uncertain what to do? 

Massively frustrating having to restrict myself to older versions of LR classic as I have no confidence in the recent upgrades. Upgraded to 14.2 when it came out hoping it would be stable, but no the same issues   Have followed tips here previously of deleting "helper" file, no luck there. Have reinstalled old/new versions, no luck.   I've used Lightroom since before it was Lightroom. If I'm missing something I'd love to know.    Bug info 1. LR classic 14.2 2. Mac os 15.4.1 3. Image in library won't display tag/star rating/colour 3. Can't create collection/smart collection 3. Can't rename collection 3.  No loupe info displayed 4. These are basic functions that don't work, ie the actual result means I can't do anything above.   Thanks for your help. There is a cool functionality within Adobe Lightroom Web. You can publish Web Galeries easyily and very comfortable. Unfortunaley still years the funcionality is limited in sorting. Not even the simple sorting by name or date sometimes works and sometimes it doesnt. For example I did not find any way to sort the different Galeries in the overview. Sorting the images within a Galerie worked in the past, but the "how to" changed from LR version to version. Sameer from Adobe gave a good instruction a couple of years ago, unfortunaetly this does not worh anymore.  Can someone help please ?1. How can I sort the different galeries (the list seem to be random sorted)2. ho can I sort the images within a galerie (even when I sort them in LR C or in LR Web correytly it does not appear correctly in the public Web version).

Just moved lightroom to a new computer.  None of the imported video clips have sound.  Is there a Codec I need to download.  it plays on my old computer.

Hello.   The dreaded Edit in-Photoshop has stopped working again.  I've cleared preferences and resinstalled multiple times and yet it keeps coming back.   I have the latest versions as of May '25, never had beta versions and is practically a virgin machine with just CC on it.  It is a Mac M4 Pro Max.   I am using a Fuji GFX 100 II in compressed RAW 16-bit.   I get, at most, 3 goes with it working and then it stops working with jut the PS splash screen.   Any thoughts?   Thanks.

I was disappointed to find out that aspect ratio no longer shows under the metadata in lightroom classic. I don't know why Adobe removed that, but that was a feature I used constantly. Is there any other way to select a group of photos by their orientation? 

Hi everyone,I'm a photographer and recently started working on a MacBook Pro. I use Lightroom for editing, and everything looks great on my screen and phone. However, I'm running into an issue when I print my photos (not using a home printer, but a professional printing service): the prints come out looking very orange.When I try to fix this by lowering the saturation or adjusting the temperature before exporting, the printed photos end up looking too washed out, white, or yellowish compared to how they appear on my laptop.I'm exporting my files in sRGB color space. Has anyone else experienced this issue, or does anyone know what might be causing it and how to fix it?Thanks so much in advance for your help!

To cut a long story short, I discovered why my C Drive on my Windows 10 PV has become almost full and it was because there were over 300Gb worth of Appdata/Adobe/CRLogs/Dumps files.I found these in both the Appdata/Roaming folder and the Appdata/LocalLow folder.As the Roaming folder is not relevant to my set up, I deleted the Dump files yesterday and freed up over 90GB of space on my C Drive.I'm also going to delete the LocalLow Dump files, which as you can see from the attached, occupy 213Gb ! What I want to know is why Adobe clearly has not resolved the issue (supposedly, according to other threads) in 2022. I had the impression that the Dump files are auto deleted after a certain period of time. I might add that one of my friends has no such issues on his Windows 10 PC in his Adobe CRLogs folders !  Be interested tou hear of your experiences with this issue. Hello, I recently used the Anyvision plugin to tag numbers during a big rally raid in Morocco. Now afterwards I encounter a very big problem. The Photographer I work for imported my catalog together with the catalogs from all the other photographers. My automatic tag numbers are in a subfolder called ' Anyvision' and 'Bike numbers' instead of directly in the catalog under the corresponding number.. Only the pictures I manually tagged are correct. Selecting all the pictures in the subfolders folder and mass renaming them from for instance 'Bike numbers 142' to '142' so pictures are in the right folder does not work.. My catalog is around 10.000 pictures so I hope you have a solution otherwise the pictures will have to be retagged manually.. I added two screenshots first how the structure is from the auto tagged photo's and second how it needs to be for my phototeam owner.    Please help! Thanks, Gilbert Van Echelpoel 

GAng  I have LRC 14.3.1 installed and I have RAW files and also sidecar XMP files. But without editing files etc, LRC is Recreating Exisiting xmp files.   up to 14k   Is this a auto thing? Why does LRC do this?

This has been going on for more than a year. Any hope in the future? MacOS Sequoia 15.4LrC 14.2

Hello, LRC 14.3 Windows 11.New PC. I notice when LR doing export / import actions it opens the Windows Terminal (DOS prompt). It gives an annoying delay.I tried export to a HDD, and to a SSD, same issue. LR is at my 2nd screen and the Terminal windows popups very fast at the 1st screen. Switching screens did solved the the issue. I did reintall LR. etc.I google but can not find a solution. Any suggestions?Thanks

Not sure if this is a Lightroom Classic bug or OS, but running Lightroom Classic 14.3.1 (It's happened with earlier versions too) on Mac OS Sequoia 15.4.1)I usually ingest my photos to my Macbook M1, and edit there - then when the edit is complete and I've uploaded them to my website ready for my clients, it's time for me to move the photos to my archive, on a QNAP NAS, via Thunderbolt and the SMB protocol..  The problem is that there have been a number of times now when I click the folder in the library 'Folders' pane, dragging it to the relevant folder (still within Lightroom Classic Folders pane, but to the network drive), it'll start moving the files - then the Macbook reboots..  no warnings, just kernal panic and restarts, then says it restarted because of an error.  I'll paste the error report below - but just to add, it only happens when moving the folder within Lightroom Classic..  using Finder, I've never had this restart the computer... I'd prefer to keep

Couldn't find a link to post a new topic. I am transfering my photo editing from a PC desktop to a PC laptop and from Win 10 to 11.  I intend to keep all my photos on an external drive with LR Classic on the laptop's C: drive. What's the best way to port my catalog over to the new laptop so it points to my new removable drive? I have a pretty good-sized catalog: around 100,000 files. M. H. After updating to the new LRC version of 14.3 , I am unable to copy pics from SD card nor add pics to the new catalog. LRC is not responding. There is no problem with the system, Mac Os sequoia 15.4.1. Kindly help    [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]
