Lightroom Classic

I am new to Lightroom.  I'm trying to set an iCloud folder as an import destination in Lightroom Classic 9.3 on my Mac.  Lightroom won’t accept that folder.  Note that I don't want to import from an iCloud source folder.  I want the import to copy the files to an iCloud destination folder.  Do you have any guidance?

HiI am an infrequent user of LRC and still struggling to get to grips with it. I uploaded a bunch of photos in Dec 2024, did some preliminary edits on them and just came back to do some further adjustments. However, I was horrified to find that EVERY SINGLE edit on EVERY SINGLE photo in my LRC seems to have disappeared. There don't seem to be any issues with LRC finding each image so I don't understand where the edits have gone. Would appreciate some help! Thanks in advance!!

Some background:1.  My WINDOWS computer has two SDDs, A 2TB (drive C) and a 4TB (drive D).2.  My Lightroom Classic program is on Drive C:3.  My pictures and catalog back ups are on Drive 😧4.  My drive C: had a catastrophic crash and stopped reading or writing.5.  I had to replace drive C: and reload the operating system and all my program software.6.  Now when I try to reload my existing catalog from drive 😧 it says "fixing errors in castalog," and goes into the twilight zone.  The only way to get back to Lightroom, is to restart my computer.7.  In my back up section of data on Drive 😧 I have several backed up catalogs.  I'm using the one with the latest date.8.  In case that one was truly corrupted when the drive failed I even went back to a previous catalog, but still no-go. I have over 20 YEARS of processed pictures, I would hate to lose hundreds of hours of processing! Help! Eddie

Hi Adobe Team,Please bring back the option to show the import dialog before syncing a folder in Lightroom Classic. It used to let me review and select subfolders or specific images before importing — now it auto-imports everything without warning.This makes it harder to stay organized and slows down my workflow. It was a small feature, but incredibly useful. A toggle in the Sync Folder dialog would solve this.

I am at my wit's end. I have been a LR user since Beta (2006), and have devoted tens of thousands of hours to creating and managing my catalog. How can I determine the bit depth of a lossy compressed DNG made with the JPEG XL engine? I convert an adjusted RAW to a lossless DNG, then use Lightroom Classic or DNG Converter to generate from that a lossy compressed DNG. That lossy compressed DNG seems to have the same dynamic range and tonal malleability (5 stops!) as the original RAW file, so I have to assume it's more than 8 bits, as I'd expect a similarly abused JPEG to fall apart.

As we know, in a Night and Fog action Adobe introduced an incompatibility with millions of existing PC's and laptops. The recent Lightroom version demand for a processor with AVX2 instruction set (Advanced Vector Extensions V2).But Adobe does not provide any simple means to identify said processors!   Every user of Lightroom may now be facing the necessity of purchasing a new computer, and effectively retire and dump the old one to a land fill.  Of course, they will ignore any plea to reverse this action, but they MUST provide a clarity what to purchase now.How to identify the "correct" processor with AVX2?  Most main manufacturers (Dell, Lenovo, HP to name a few) do not provide such information with their devices.

Hello.I've just upgraded my Graphic card from 5080 to 5090.I had my graphic drivers delete and updated.and I have uninstalled Lightroom classic and re-installed it.and still it does not recognize my RTX 5090.In preference setting, Camera Raw graphic acceralation tab is disabled(it's grey and unable to select anything probably because it does not recognize my graphic card)I've tried deleting preference files and everything but I can't find how to make it work!I've used acceration just before upgrade when I used 5080.Does anyone know what's the issue is all about?

Publishing from lightroom Classic to Squarespace? As a travel photographer, currently publishing to SmugMug using theSmugmug  plugin, I now plan to publish on Squarespace and would require that all the country folders, city folders and galleries, together with the titles, captions and metadata are moved to Squarespace directly, or from SmugMug. Has anyone accomplished this effectively, and if so I would appreciate any pointers that you can share. Thanks, Adrian

I am using Lightroom Classic (latest v. 14.3.1) on Windows 11 machine.  I just purchased a Pixma Pro-200s to replace my older Pro-100.  I have installed the printer and I can use it with the Lightroom Print Module.  I am trying to use the Canon Professional Print & Layout Plugin.  I have downloaded and installed the latest software (v. 1.6) and it recognizes the plugin, but when I run it, it shows "Opening Professional Print & Layout" and then stops and doesn't load it.  It will recognize and run the plugin within Photoshop.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both PPL and Lightroom without success.  Any thoughts on how to get it working?

Masking behavior is unpredictable, overlays frequently obscure adjustments, and persistent UI elements like unexplained red dots introduce needless distraction.These aren’t innovations. They’re regressions—frustrating, unnecessary, and disconnected from the realities of professional use.I’ve reverted to version 12.5, the last stable release fit for actual work. I strongly urge your team to reconsider its design priorities and return to building tools for working photographers, not for feature checklists. 

There are a lot of GPS tracking apps for the iPhone, and I'd like to get input on which one(s) to use from people who have used them to geotag in Lightroom 4.I've read reviews on some that output a GPX log that they don't include time stamps. Others track, but aren't clear if they output a GPX log. Also, I'd like to know for the ones that do output a GPX log, what method do you use to get it on the computer?Lastly, for those using Android, is My Tracks a viable solution?

Hey everyone,How do you usually handle culling large batches of RAWs before importing them into Lightroom Classic? I’m talking 2-5k images from a wedding or event. I used to do everything directly in LrC, but lately I’ve been experimenting with an iOS app called PhotoPicker that lets me go through photos directly from an external drive — no import needed. It supports flagging, star ratings, etc., and saves everything into XMPs that Lightroom picks up on import. Has anyone tried something similar? Curious if there are other tools or workflows people are using for faster pre-import sorting.

Would be really nice to have an AI click to automatically remove the glare in eyeglasses. At the moment I moved all my edits to a different tool, a one click thing compared with everything you need to do in Lightroom. Or Photoshop. 

When Sync with LR Cloud downloads and imports photos from the cloud, it creates a pseudo-volume and psuedo-folder in the Folders panel representing the contents of the "Mobile Downloads.lrdata" folder containing the imported photos (e.g John's MacBook Pro > Imported Photos).  When a plugin tries to access the pseudo-folder, the methods catalog:getFolders() and catalog:getActiveSources() return invalid LrFolder objects.   To reproduce on LR 14.3.1 / Mac OS 15.5:   1. The reverse geolocation feature in LrC is not working. While GPS coordinates are present and visible in the Metadata panel and Map module, the corresponding location names (e.g., city, state, country) are not being populated as expected.I’ve verified that:The “Look up city, state, country...” option is checked in Catalog Settings > Metadata.I have a stable internet connection.GPS coordinates are correctly embedded in the images.I am using the latest version of Lightroom Classic.Despite this, Lightroom Classic does not display location names in the Metadata panel, even after waiting or manually reloading the metadata.Any suggestions?

Lightroom Classic 14.3.1Windows 11 Pro 24H2Since some weeks, my Lightroom library seems to have hiccups.When opening a picture in Develop mode, it is often not shown. There is only an empty screen.When I select another picture in the bottom bar and then select the first one again, in the end it is shown.However, when I select the other picture again, the first picture remains shown.None of my edits (edits, crop overlay, remove, masking) are shown in the right sidebar anymore. Everything seems to be reset.Some pictures indicate a mismatch between the Lightroom catalog and the file on disk, but for most pictures this is not the case.All XMP files are still there.Trying a backup catalog does not resolve the problem. Clearing disk space (used to be 25 GB; is now 125 GB) does not resolve the problem.Do I need to remove some of the .lrcat-data files (and is it a destructing operation)? Any advice on how to repair my library is appreciated.

I was typing a folder name when lightroom opened and whatever I was typing must have started facial recogniction. "pausing" it in the upper corner does not stop the process at all and everything I found online doesnt seem to do anything!Looking for help on how to stop it as i am afriad itll crash the app or my computer if it continues! 

Hi Adobe Friends -I have upgraded my 2017 iMac to a new Mac Studio.  It's now time to move a few things over (LrC presets and Photoshop).  I've been down the YouTube rabbit hole and it seems everyone has very different and very confusing advice on this.   So, I thought I try my questions here.   First, in LrC, I don't want to move all my photos over.  I have a ridiculous amount and I'd just like to start fresh.  I would however like to move my current presets over as they are now.  Is there an easy way to do this?  Do I need to install LrC and/or Creative Cloud on my new computer before I move my presets over?   Moving Photoshop over looks to be a little simpler, but I'd take any advice/instruction on that if you have any.   I feel like this is going to require a call to Adobe and I'd like to avoid that if possible.   Any help you could provide would be much appreciated.   Tony 

Is there a LRC and PS version that can be purchased once with a lifetime activation that doesn't use the CC? I store all my work on my pc and would only update if/when an update is available. I've seen one site that offers both LRC and PS 2025 for $48.00 US dollars a piece. I'm not sure if it's legit or not.thanx
