Lightroom Classic

I wondered if you could help me or send me to someone in the technical arena or to articles on the web.  My question relates to the AI features in Lightroom. Specifically, I would like to learn in a very general way how these LR features actually work. Very specifically, I need to know which LR tools create new pixels vs somehow altering my own pixels.  Our Club along with the PSA & many others do not allow editing that introduces “new pixels” into the image files submitted for competitions. I want to have a good understanding of the subject in order to formulate reasonable “rules”. It is very difficult to know where to draw the line. I have found a list of LR tools that “use AI” but this is not clear enough.  Clearly, the Remove Tool with Generative Fill adds new pixels. Hello,Lightroom Classic after opening program and 2-3 photos (24Mpx) quickly alocates all VRAM and becomes unusable for short periods af time. Is it safe to delete these files to make space?

I've been trying to fix this for a couple days now and keep running into issues. WHAT I DID:My 2TB PHOTO DRIVE which contains both my LRC catalog folder as well as all my photos was nearly out of space so I copied this drive to a new 4TB drive. When I opened the catalog from the new drive nearly all of my edits and keywords didn't show up. I'm not freaking out yet as I still have the original library and photos on my 2TB drive but I can't figure out how to get this copied catalog to look and behave like the original. What did I do wrong here? How could I have done this better? How do I fix it?

Running Lightroom Classic 14.2 on Windows 11 Pro, version 10.0.26100, Intel i7-14700K,  (all drivers updated)Created a  synced collection which includes about 90 pictures. Some of them are virtual copies. They are all color and star labeled.  Selected 'Sort' to 'Custom order'.When moving/rearranging pictures using drag-n-drop the application crashes in more than 50% of the cases.

Lightroom Classic 14.3.1 windows 10 high CPU utilization except when accessing menus.  This just started with the most recent upgrade.  You open any menu iteme and it goe back to idle.  Any ideas?

Lightroom classic is taking forever to rename an image.  Not sure why.  Just started two weeks ago.  Catalogs have been optimized.  All drivers updated.  Recent catalot Adobe.  Happened on Windows 10 and windows 11.  Previous version of lightroom and current version.  Have reached out to Adobe support 2x.  They have not been able to help or resolve the issue.

When shooting tethered in Lightroom Classic with my Z8 or Z9 I am getting some odd file naming. The file naming template is set to Filename and the camera colour space is set to Adobe so I would expect a filename similar to _DSC1234 but, what I get is DSC_0000 followed by DSC_0000-2, DSC_0000-3 etc...there are no duplicate files anywhere. When shooting non-tethered file naming is as I expect so this file naming oddity is only when tethered. Any ideas on why are certainly appreciated.

In Lightroom CC I'm missing the minimize, Expand and close buttons

I am getting repeated requests for "Refining Previews for HDR" whenever I begin editing photos in HDR for Lightroom Classic. Based on the number of previews its refining, it looks like its going through every HDR photo in my library. The process completes each time, but it does take a long time and consumes quite a bit of CPU. Is there any way we can understand what is triggering these requests and why it needs to do this process over and over again, seemingly randomly? Is there any way to turn this off, or at least explain what is happening? Lightroom Classic Version 14.0.1MacOS Sequoia 15.1M4 MacBookPro (M4Pro Chip)

In my Creative Cloud app on my Mac it says "Libraries currently not synching. Open the libraries panel to synch assets to Adobe Cloud storage.  1). What "Libraries Panel"?  Do you see one -- I don't.2). If Libraries are "not currently synching", the why does it show that they are when I look in the Lightroom Classic interface?

Hello everyone,this is something that has never happened to me before.When taking photos with my Canon 5D Mark IV and exporting them to my MacBook Pro. The colors were always accurate to what I was seeing on the screen. However, now it does some "correction" and changes the hues and contrasts for me.What is this? How can I fix it?It's like when I take my photo in monochrome and it automatically changes it to color.Here is an example of what happens. The image on the left is the "original" to the one on the right as it looks on my computer and in Lightroom.Thank you for your time. Regards! 

LR hanging on importing photos - only 7 imported and another 25 to go . This has never happened before

Lightroom Classic version 14,3Hi Rikk, when I import a series of cartoon images, everything works fine.I import, make color adjustments, export, and edit everything in After Effects.If I use the 2x enhancement feature, the graphic result is very good, but a complicated situation arises.The frames lose their numbering and import order, visible on the screen, and if I export, it's total chaos.The format is uncompressed 16-bit TIFF, originally generated in Adobe Photoshop 26.6.Rikk, could you tell me a method or settings to avoid losing the 2x enhancement due to problems I'm not aware of?Thanks in advance.

I had an older catalog on my C: drive. No longer available. My images are on an EHD. My main catalog is on my internal SSD drive.  I can see the images in collections on EHD but not in the date-based folders. I have tried to import the images from the C: Drive to My catalog but it says they are already imported. Any suggestons? Thank you in advace for any help you can give. Ila B.

Did I find a bug? Can I keep it?Since one of the last updates (?), I've been having a problem where whenever I make changes to a photo folder in File Explorer (Windows 11), i.e., outside of LR Classic, such as renaming, adding, moving, etc., I always synchronize them within LR Classic using "Synchronize Folder..." Until recently, this always worked flawlessly. Everything that was already there remained untouched, as before, and only anything new or different was updated. But recently, LR Classic (version 14.3.1) has been forgetting ALL edits (cropping, corrections, retouching). THIS is definitely NOT in the spirit of creation!!! I've already finished editing three-quarters of the folder containing approximately 80 photos. I noticed a few file names that weren't compliant with the rules. I changed them in File Explorer and synced the folder as usual via the context menu in LrC. After completing the process, I wanted to continue working on the photos and was horrified to discover the afo

Hi all, I'm experiencing some difficulties with LRC running super slow. My issues are the application of a mask with a brush. I'm having a massive delay, also with the sliders not moving fluidly. I have a brand new SSD worked fine yesterday. All my aviation photos are here catalogued. I'm on a 6 month old high performance laptop, so that's not the issue. I have altered some preferences as recommended and optimised the catalogue, this worked for a minute then slowed again the same issues. LRC updated yesterday and this seems to have started then. Has anyone else got an issue or any thoughts or solutions if they are not having this issue since the update?

Hi all, I'm using LRC version 14.3.1, but I'm unable to get synchronization to function properly. I've attempted to 'rebuild Sync Data,' paused and restarted sync, but nothing has resolved the issue. In the top right corner, it indicates that everything is synced, yet in the collections pane on the left, there are no sync icons next to the collection names. I've been editing my photos, removing only background people in both lightroom (Classic) and photoshop (2025).  No other edits. This is on my MAC OS 14.2.1. When I download them and view them on my iPhone next to the original, the edited version is dimmer.  It's not about calibration because I'm not making any edits other than removing items from the background.  And I'm viewing the Original Photo right next to the Edited Photo on my same iPhone.  Why is Adobe doing this and how do I make it stop?  It's the same dim effect whether I use Lightroom or Photoshop.  Exporting to RGB Color in photoshop and sRGB in Lightroom, I believe.

I'm constantly making new metadata presets for different events in LrC, but a lot of the information I fill in is the same each time (my name, email, phone, yes it is copyright me) -- can I keep this same-every-time information autofilled so it'll carry over into every new preset I make?  Thanks.
