Hi. Since LrC was updated I have not been able to access my work in earlier versions. When I open "recent catalogs", they contain no pictures, and I am asked to "import" to start. I wonder, where my previous work has gone. I have to edit every picture again with the new update and have obviously lost years of work. Can I do anything to regain it? Kind Regards, Per Gade
I have been running LR 4 on an older Mac Pro tower which is exhibiting signs of being close to death. I am fine buying a new mini mac and joining modern times by subscribing to LR (classic? is that correct?). My question is how do I migrate from this computer to the new one? My mac has lost it's wi-fi capabillity, so I'm unclear on how I will access everything on the new computer. My catalogue is backed up on the mac's hard drive.
So I had a 10 year old Mac and it was struggling to do stuff, battery went and went into lightroom classic to find 3500 photos greyed out. I thought when I transferred over to my new MacBook Air they might reappear but no such luck! so I have tried 'find missing photos' and that didn't work so I have no idea how to fix this, please help! {Moved from Lightroom Cloud to Lightroom Classic Forum by Moderator}
I can't import Canon R5 ii RAW files to Lightroom classic. Says "The file appears to be unsupported or damaged." I find reference to this problem on line but the posts are rather dated. The work arounds are very few and are difficult to implement for all but a few files. Help.
I'm trying to write a lightroom classic plugin. One of the steps is to copy metadata from one photo to another.I'm using :newPhoto:setRawMetadata("keywords", oldPhoto:getRawMetadata("keywords"))but it throws the error. Also "title" is an unrecognized metadata key even though it apears in the sdk docs.
I use two Mac's for my photography. I used a 2019 MacBook running Monterery 12.6.6 for printing only. It has Lightroom Clsassic 13.5.1 and Photoshop 26.0.0 installed. I recently got a 2024 MacBook for all other uses including photo editing. when I plugged my external drive containing my photo files into the 2024 MB and started Lightroom Classic version 14.1.1 LRc wanted to update my photo database. I quit before that occured. my question is if I allow the database to be updated will the older version of LRc (13.5.1) work with those updated files? thanks for any guidance you can give on this.
Hello, I'm using title as filename in some published collections but have found the need to download files with duplicate filenames. However, when I export, there are spaces between the words, while my published collection gets hypens between the words in the filename. Is there any way to export using the title as the filename AND get a - between the words so I don't have to edit every single filename? Thanks
This post is essentially an offshoot of another post I created recently asking how to deal with the fact that I'm almost entirely out of space on my laptop running Lightroom (and other Adobe products). It seems like someothing went horribly wrong even before I got the chance to unload all of images to an external drive -- almost all of my images (and presets) are missing! Maybe it's just coincidence, but I clicked on my Lighroom Classic icon as usual, and some kind of box popped up about saving the catelog and how it would not be compatible with older versions of Lightroom, something like that (in retrospect, I seriously wish I screenshoted this). But the bottom line is that when Lightroom loaded, it was like it was brand new installation! It gave me little introductory tour as if I was using it for the first time, etc. It's like the max-out status of my machine caused some mechanism in Lightroom to seriously fail. The good news for me, if you want to call it that, is that ALL o
I sent a few older images (2021) from LR Classic to PS to edit and then saved back to LR. The images show up in the Library Module but I just get a white screen when I go to the Develop Module. This is not happening with images I've recently taken. I am unable to further develop these images in LR. I have tried closing both LR (twice) and PS but the images still show a white screen in Develop module
The ExtractPreviews script in this help article: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/extract-previews-for-lost-images-lightroom.html doesn't work in LR 14.0.1 on Mac OS 14.6.1 or Windows 11. No matter which photos are selected, it always produces this error: This appears in the console log when you run the script: 2024-11-24 11:54:29.038 Adobe Lightroom Classic[77127:11037041] Could not open file "/Users/john/Lightroom/cats/Test-14/Test-14 Previews.lrdata/0/062F/062F71E0-1BE7-43EA-B951-332C8CF33405-2bbfa387aba361443ffb2e579b214e8c.lrprev" 0: field parseMultiSectionFile - C 1: upvalue ? - 71:134+5 2: [unnamed] - 108:205+4 3: global pcall - C 4: method next - 187:445+27 5: upvalue ? - 1438065897:158+21 6: upvalue ? - 1438065897:489+11 7
Hey Everyone I am working with the latest version of LR classic on Windows 11 platforms. I have LR classic on both my ACER desktop and my surface laptop, although all my Photo editing is done on the Acer desktop. Yesterday I opened LR classic on the Acer desktop and discovered, despite not having done anything, that I had only 145 photographs, not the 10K that should be there. First question how do I find my way back to my catalog and can I lock it in once I have? I have a crackpot theory about why this happened. Last year for a brief period I used LR Classic on the laptop and while I meant to uninstall, I wasn't paying close attention when it asked me for prompts regarding my catalog because I thought these prompts had to do with just that laptop. But I think Adobe applied whatever answers I gave on the Surface laptop also to the Acer, thus my claim as to not having done anything and yet fin
Hello All .I didn't find where the "name of the preset" of my pics are stocked in metadata. So, i put by copy/paste the name of the preser in the field called "objet" to find it on the windows explorer detailed files. It is a problem that a lot of photographer have.Is there an metadata zone where it exist or a solution to automate it ?Same with Color that is not in windows explorer files details to sort them easely. Thank you for your help 🙂
I am printing multiple pages of images (essentially Contact Sheets but without an names or photo info, etc.) I was trying to use the Identity Plate as the title for each group of images. However, the font size of my titles seems to be strictly dependent on the size of the box for the Identity Plate - not the size indicated in the Identity Plate options box where you enter your specific text and pick the font. It has been difficult for me to get multiple sheets of different groups of images to have the same title size becase the titles are of different lengths so the box is always of a different length and therefore size. I can - by eye - adjust each sheet when printing them individually, but there is no precision to this method. It appears that the Font Size selection box really has no effect on the end result on the screen and when printed. My expected result is that when I select the same font and font size in the Identity Plate options between differe
I am new to lightroom and coming from Photomator. While photomator is more limited it is a pretty good lightroom competitor. one thing i miss from it going to lightroom is that in photomator you could have endless "layers" for each adjustment or mask. So you could put a preset. then make a new layer and then adjust sliders all over again.More importantly, if you used auto adjustments (which lightroom also has), you could then adjust the strength or effect/opacity of said auto adjustments. is there no way to do that in lightroom?i use auto very often as a starting point in lightroom. sometimes it gets it 90-100% right. sometimes it has the "right idea" but its WAYY too strong like overexposed, whites pushed too much. I want to reduce whatever lightroom did automatically 50% for example by just pulling a slider, but i cant seem to figure out a way except looking at every single slider in develop and by eye try to reduce by 50%. that is an extremely slow workflow
I have a problem with output from the JeffreyFriedl plugin Listview. I get the error message Win32 API error 2 ("The system cannot find the file specified.") when calling ShellExecuteExW from AgWorkspace.shellExecute. I reistalled the plugin (resulting in the loss of my prescription) but the error remains. This same error message was mentioned 10 years ago, but the solution then given does not work in this case. Yesterday when I opened my LR - none of my photos were showing. You can see that there is 800 photos, but they are not visible. Someone suggested that I re install my previous catalog. Since yesterday morning - right through the night it keeps on saying that the Catalog is opening. I cannot access LR at all. I even shut down my computer - still nothing
I have a catalog with photos from recent shoot. I imported around half of it into LR. Then I wanted to add 2 more photos so I dragged them into library module and imported. Now I only see these 2 photos. There is absolutely no way to show all the photos I imported from this shoot. I checked every possible folder, tried to use "filter folders" and ITS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. I am going crazy here. Why LR is doing this. PLEASE ADOBE I see people report this issue for years, yet there is no solution!

I have a bug in my installation (LrC 14.1.1 and a MacMini M1 with MacOs Sonoma). The bug is that the Plug-ins for editing are all grayed out BUT if I delete the Helper file before starting LrC the Plug-Ins are not grayed out! Hi, recently updated Lighttroom Classic to 14.01Basic Panel now doesn't show the AUTO or PROFILE tabs - they are 'greyed out'I have gone back a version and then updated again - no joy!!!I dare say (hope) this is a simple fix. Anyhow, help.....................
LRC 14.0.1 - Camera Raw 17.0 ProArt Z790 Motherboard Intel Core i9-13900K 64GB Ram Nvidia RTX 3090 OS & LRC are installed on a 2TB Samsung NVMe drive with over 700GB free. Images are on an EditShare NAS, 30TB "partition" with 12TB free. I was struggling with an import of a large number of images (about 750,000 from a multi-year time-lapse). The images are GoPro Raw (.gpr) and just over 5MB each. I initially thought that maybe trying to import them to an existing catalogue was causing the issues, so I created a new catalog. That didn't change anything.I thought then that the issue with the long import time was just the number of images, so I left it running over my long holiday, about 4.5 weeks. I came back today and it had barely processed 33% and was still going! Some additional troubleshooting I tried was in resetting the preferences (that didn't work) and then trashing the preference file manually (that didn't work). I thought maybe the cache was overloaded, but it's set
I have a set of photos that are being synced to the cloud from Lightroom Classic, but I don’t know why. They don’t belong to any Collections that are marked to sync, yet they have the sync arrows on them, and I can see them on lightroom.adobe.com. Is there a way to discover what could be causing them to sync? I don’t want to sync all my photos; only the ones I explicitly select.
I have just subscribed and installed Lightroom Classic and the version was 14.1. However, the school I am going to attend requires version 13.5.Please advise how to change to the older version, if possible.

The regular Lightroom programm works, but I need Lightroom Classic for my work.I'm using Windows 10.
